WC 11gR1 Wiki/Blog - Search integration

Hi,
What is the best way to integrate Wiki/Blog service in 11gR1 so that they would be included in the search by the search task flow?

From my experience:
CC 5.2 with Peoplesoft: as long as you have the RTA's installed in the Peoplesoft system and create the connectors in CC, you are good to go.
AE 5.2 with Peoplesoft: cannot provision to Peoplesoft, however you can connect with Peoplesoft HR for Password Self-Service.  You have the capability to provision to SAP HR.
FF 5.2 with Peoplesoft: N/A
RE 5.2 with Peoplesoft: N/A
I am not sure if there are any standalone docs out there for AC integration with Peoplesoft.  And the 5.2 manuals have sparse information on integration.  However, the AC 5.3 manuals have more detailed info on the integration piece with various other non-SAP systems.
Sorry, I couldn't share more info, as that is all I know for now...

  • How to configure the wiki/blog server to share the embed LDAP

    All
anyone know the steps to share the embed LDAP to the wiki/blog server? the SSO steps of course meet the requirement, but all i haveto do is to setup the ENV to work with the demo custom apps for avoiding login twice. any input are appreciated.

    And i assumed wrong :)
You are not using the latest version of WebCenter. According to what i see, you are using webcenter 11.1.1.3 or earlier which does not use UCM as wiki and blog service.
So basicly all the links i provided in my previous post are useless for you.
To be honnest, configuring wiki and blog in pre PS3 environment is a real pain in the "you know what i mean".
The reason for this is that you will need to create a few keystores, configure SSO,... The instruction that explains how is very long and difficult and in the end, you end up with integrating iframes which is not nice...
That's why since PS3, webcenter uses UCM to store the wiki and blog services.
If it's for a demo application, why not use the latest version?

  • 10.5.7 update Wiki, blog, and Calendar stopped working

I'm running 10.5.7 server and like a noob, I updated without giving others a chance to figure out what problems might arise from this monster. My server is a live machine and unfortunately I sorta need this working ASAP.
Now that I've updated, none of my web services work. The basic site works, but the wiki/blog thing says there's no available groups. In workgroup manager, when I select a group (Library in this case), I want to be able to enable wiki and blog and Web Calendar. They're grey because now the "Enable the following services for this group on: (None)" is selected. When I click on the 'None' button there's no option to choose my community site.
In Server Admin, when I select "Web", then select my site. Then click, Web Services... Wiki and blog is checked. Also, the access list is blank, as it's always been...
Here's a look at the most recent error in my /Library/Logs/wikid/error.log before today, I'd never seen anything like it...

Any thoughts why 10.5.7 update would do this?

*edit* One more thing. When I select a user in WGM and click 'Advanced', then enable calendaring, I can't select a calendar host. There's no items in the list like there was before. It hyst says 'No Calendar Host Selected'. Again, this is enabled in the web services in Server Admin. Help!

    Server Admin -> web
select the website in question, make sure it is checked as enabled
Server Admin -> web -> Web Services
make sure the users/groups that require access are displayed, otherwise click and add them
    Check Wiki and Blog
    etc...
    save
    Workgroup Manager -> Groups Icon
    Select the correct group
Select the website that you want (www.your_domain.com) from the popup menu where it says : Enable the following service...
    Check Wiki and Blog
    etc...
    save
    Server Admin -> web
    Stop
    Start
    That should do it...
If you try to access the wiki on localhost it won't work, you need to go to the actual domain
    http://www.your_domain.com
on an intranet if you are using private dns you can create a test website for example
    DNS -> your-server-name.mac.private. -> 192.168.1.150
and you select the correct private site, you can
http://your-server-name.mac.private and you should see it fine
    Best of luck...

  • Wiki blog best practice for teachers

I am running Web services on a 10.5.8 server with wiki, blog, and calendar features enabled for a particular group.
What is the best practice for allowing a teacher to post assignments, media, etc., to his/her page while also allowing students to submit assignments (in video form) up on that page - BUT not allow them to edit the part the teacher has entered? It sounds like it should be a blog “comment”, but that does not allow them to upload files. I see there is the capability to “allow some group” members to write to this page – but how do I select which users (does not take me to a user selection option) - not sure that this is indeed what I am looking for anyway. If I allow all members to edit the page (wiki), there is little control for the page owner (teacher) to reduce student error, sabotage, or intentional goofiness.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Hiding URL in Blog Search results

Is there a preference or workaround to remove or hide the entry URL shown after performing blog searches?
    TIA

I assume there must be some an obscure editable setting in one of the css files for the blog or archives. Any ideas on which one would affect the URL?
    TIA

  • Media is not showing up on my wiki/blog server

I have recently setup a server running 10.5 and running Podcast Producer. I have created a wiki/blog page and created several groups. I have attempted to use Podcast Capture to post videos, files and presentations to the webpage but the files never show up on the page. I can find them in the Podcast folder on the server but they don't show up on the group webpage. What am I doing wrong? I have seen it done before, I'm just not sure what I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Could I refer you to the forum on Podcast Producer.

  • Blog Searches not working properly

I am using the blog format for part of my website. When I use search it works great, except, when you click on the link to where your result is located it takes you to a site that doesn't exist. I think this is because I am using www.dougsQCcollectibles.com as my address, but the site is actually located at the .mac address. Is there a way to get search to link to the page at the .mac address rather than the mask at my purchased domain name?

I have the same experience. I have successfully setup a personal domain forwarding but the blog search results points to a not working URL.
Looking at this URL I think the search function gives the correct URL, but the URL forwarding does not work for deep links.
    Anyone having the same problem?

  • Changing group owner disables wiki/blog

For quite some time now the procedure for creating new groups with a single owner/moderator has worked well. I 1) go in to the directory app on the server, 2)create the group, 3) change the owner to the teacher who will manage the wiki/blog, 4) add the teacher to the list of users allowed to create wikis (in web services). Then everything works like a charm. As of a few weeks ago (and I have not run any updates--still on 10.5.6, etc.), as soon as I change the group owner from Directory Administrator the wiki/blog generates a no group with that name is hosted on this server. Changing the owner back to directory admin fixes this but I need the teachers to be owner/moderators. Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem?
    Thanks,

Is there any solution to this problem? I am trying to set up the group owner but can't. I am set as the group owner in the group list and set as moderator in the list of users allowed to create wikis but when I go into the wiki site I am unable to change settings.

  • Has anyone implemented Google Blog Search into BC (like Wordpress has)?

    Hi:
I have a "potential" client interested in an automated way to show a list of other blogs and websites where they were mentioned.  I am imagining this to work like the Google Blog Search that Wordpress Admin Dashboard has, where it searches for who has linked to your site and shows you a list.  Can this be done in BC?  Has anyone implemented something like this?
    Thanks in advance.

If you are referring to 'Trackbacks' then yes it can.

  • How to deploy the Wikis, Blogs and Discussions Sample Portlets ?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to deploy Wikis, Blogs and Discussions Sample Portlets located at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/release11_demos.html (the demo at the bottom).
I've successfully, deployed the portlet to WebCenter Portlet service using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0.
And I've successfully register the porlet proivder in 11g Portal.
However, when I added the portlet to a new page, it returns error
"Error: Could not get markup. The cookie or session is invalid or there is a runtime exception".
I've recreated the page and refresh the screen. But still got the error.
    Anyone know what's going wrong?
    Thanks!
    Larry

I found that the sample code has hard coded the WikiRemoteService to be
    http://localhost:7001/owc_wiki/services/WikiRemoteService
Our environment use another port. After chaning the port number, both interfaces of Wiki and Blog (I just added the two portlets in to a Portal 11g Page) could be loaded. Also, I can create blog, blog entry, add comment via the Blog interface.
However, Wiki portlet seems not working properly. The request I submit via the interface (e.g. show wiki) returns me error
"The service does not appear to be responding. Please enter a valid url."
    Anybody has idea?
    Thanks.

  • Post wiki/blog entries from iphone?

i gather from what i have read of the docs, that the default presentation of blogs and wikis on the iphone is read-only.
i'm wondering if i might be able to pick up a blog-editing tool (along the lines of ecto or something, but simpler and for the iphone) that would make it possible to make quick posts - i.e. to take a photo or video and post it to a blog from the iphone with a short caption.
i'm kind of surprised that apple chooses to feature "iphone support" on the page describing the snow leopard collaboration services, but that their idea of supporting the iphone is so limited - especially since when they introduced the iphone 3GS, they demo'd uploading videos to youtube.
anyone have any ideas? i see in the wikiserver documentation that the server is supposed to support the AtomPub and MetaWebLog API's, but then i don't see any mention of support for apple-snow-leopard-wiki-server (what is it actually called anyway?) in the documentation of any tools in the itunes store.
Blogwriter - bad reviews. no mention of supporing os x server wikis/blogs.
Wordpress - right idea, but afaik, this works only for wordpress blogs?
Blog with iBlogger! - by the folks who do ecto for the mac. looks vaguely promising, but does not list support for 10.6 server blogs and has mix of positive/negative reviews. also costs $10.
Blog Press - similar in scope to Blog with iBlogger!. $3. some bad reviews.

Is it possible to add a new blog entries from an iPhone ?
No, you can't do anything to an iWeb blog without using iWeb. Use something else for your blog.

  • Can Wiki blogs be shared ? (Server v4)

    Hello all,
I am trying to set up a Wiki blog, so that all logged-in users can leave their comments like in a newspaper's comment section.
Of course, it should be clear who left a comment and when.
The blog should read like that:
    User 1 on Friday 2 Jan 2015 wrote :
    User 2 on Friday 2 Jan 2015 wrote :
How do I do that ? The comment function does not embed the comments into the blog.
    Thanks for helping.

You can't modify the way it works. Like everything else in OS X Server, it's designed for simplicity, not flexibility. You would need a third-party solution. I don't have a specific recommendation.

  • Wiki & Blog

    Hi
Wat is WIKI & BLOG in our SDN..
    How to post mine..
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi
Wiki and Blogs are the places where you post your articles/white papers or add/change the current articles. Go into BPX community to get more information and you will find all the info that you need.
Its really good if you will be able to make any contribution there

  • Wiki/Blog Permissions

I have the advanced setup of OS X Server and I was wondering if there was a way to easily change whether users are allowed to have blogs. I used to have it setup on Basic but I found out that it does not support portable home directories so I switched. I used to use the Server Preferences. I also tried to use WGM to not allow a group to have a blog and assign that user to only that group but the user could still create a blog.
I also would like to know if there is a way to delete a blog that a user has created.

I think what you're looking for is under:
    Server Admin.
Select the server itself in the left hand column (not an individual service such as Web).
You should see: Overview - Logs - Graphs - Server Updates - Certificates - Settings.
    You want the "Settings" tab.
Under the "Access" tab you find there, select the blog service and enable only those users you want to have a blog to use the service.
I find the management of the wiki/blog system a bit of a nightmare as controls are scattered all over the place.
    Hope that helps.
