We were on our computer and it just shut off for no reason. any suggestions?

You haven't provided any valuable data, it could have been a power problem where the computer is plugged in. Personally I use a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) when I plug in my computer for just that reason.
BTW when posting please complete your profile so we know what kind of iMac you have and the version of OS X. Also what were you doing when the computer shut down.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.

Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

My imac will just shut off without warning.Has anyoneelse had this problem?

I don't have to be doing anything or be anywhere near the computer.
The machine feels warm but i don't know if thats normal or not.

I recently made the same mistake. The thing to do is download the new Quicken Essentials for MAC. After you install the new version follow the instructions on how to transfer your old files. There is a way, it just takes a little time and, if I remember correctly, it takes the info from your quicken backup files. Hopefully you had auto back up on and your files are intact. I didn't and reconstruction was a bear but entirely possible. The new Quicken is quite different but seems to work quite well. Good luck.

I had trouble upgrading my iPad2 toiOS 5.1.I have had it for about 1 year. I had never upgraded it. I tried a few times but I kept getting a message that I would loose everything on my iPad if I did. I bit the bullet andfigured that I would restore it from the back up on my laptop. Some of the backup files were corrupted. I was unable to retore my exchange email or my notes from the noted app.
Today, my iPad shut off for no reason and I couldn't get it to turn on again, even though the battery was 70% charged. I had to press the on button and home button to get it to come back on.

I'm not sure what problem you are experiancing but it would be well worth contacting apple.
If you have had it for less than one year it should be covered under warrenty

My iPhone 4S just died for no apparent reason and now it will not turn back on. It was at about 90% battery at the time because I had just recently charged it so I don't think it died because of low battery. I have tried plugging it into outlets and computers/iTunes and nothing seems to work. I also can't do the trick involving holding down the power and home button because my power button has been jammed for over a year now. My iPhone is about 2 years old and I have never had this problem before. Earlier today it died for no reason but when I plugged it in, it turned on with no problem.
Is there anything I can do about this? Also, I am due for a phone upgrade in about 3 weeks. I was planning on getting the 5S. Is there any way that I would be able to get the upgrade several weeks early if my phone is broken?

I was cleaning, and had replied to a message before setting it down. I go back to check it about ten minutes later, and its just off. It will not turn on for anything, won't be recognized, and won't recognize the charger. Idk what to do. Help me?

If the battery is completely dead it may take some time before there is enough power in the battery to display even the rudimentary battery dead icon. Leave it charge over night. Still dead in the morning, take it to an Apple Store.

Ipod Just shuts down for no reason

I just had my i pod replaced yesterday it was under warranty and they exchanged my 6 month old 80 gig i pod for a new one. I left on my computer all night so it could sync and charge, And then today it would just shut down by itself randomly, and you could not get it turned back on until you plugged it into the wall power supply. Any ideas what to do?

Try resetting your iPod. To reset an iPod with a clickwheel:
First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times. (Be sure to leave it on the white side of the switch, which is the Off position)
Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
Repeat this a few times. Preferrably, while your iPod is connected to your computer, or other power source.
After you've done this, and if your iPod can successfully turn on, then let's try restoring it to factory settings.

My Imac 27' screen is shutting off for no reason. The Imac is still running but the screen is black and stay like that. Is there anyone else with the same problem, and does somebody know what is this?

I had my Imac27' for about 1 year (I bought it january 2011) , and it worked fine. But two days ago a problem started. The screen is turning black suddently, and it stay like that until I reboot it. It's not cool. The first time it happen it was hafter a very long days of video editing, I tought it was to hot. But now I just started up the Imac and 10 minutes later it happen. And now I transfer my desktop on my second screen, because the one of my Imac is constantly shutting of. What is this? Can I do something about that?

I´ve came across with the same problem and when I look out for solutions I found out that basically I had Three options
1.- Dim the brightness to the first 2 dots (that is the limit for me, anything above that shuts down again my screen)
2.- Replace an expensive part of the screen (about $900)
3.- Try with an external monitor to see if the problem was the screen or something else
What I did was to plug my flat screen to my mac with a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter

And… Problem Solved! now Im going to buy a Monitor that gonna cost me less than half of the replacement parts, my main monitor will keep siting down if i dim it above the 2 dots but at least I will have the other to work properly

Hi, my Macbook Pro just shut down for no reason. Before, there were black lines all over the screen. Then it shut down and it started to make beeps (3). What can I do?!

The screen was all black, but I think it was still open because my laptop was doing sounds, three beeps. You should still be under warranty. First try rebooting the iPhone by pressing and holding both the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time until the Apple symbol appears, ignoring the power off slider. You should get indications of life within about 10 seconds while holding the buttons.
