We21 XML File Port definition

Hi All,
I want to define a port of type XML File in we21 of my R/3 system. Can I make it point to a non-local directory? (i.e. a directory that resides on a system on the network).
I tried to assign a Logical Directory in we21.I assigned an existing Logical File Path (T-code <b>FILE</b>) to a valid network path. But I get the error:
<i>Access to a stored directory not possible in this environment.</i>
How do I go about assigning a network path in we21?
Regards,
Puloma.

Hi,
Try this way
Define a Partner of type FILE
In WE21 under that you create a port for the partner FILE
Select physical directory and give the directory as
<XI Install dir>:\usr\sap\X3A\DVEBMGS31\data
and the file name in outbound file.
or any path from XI installation directory.
Once this is done try sending out the IDOC and see.
Thanks,
Prakash

  • How to create an XML File Port in we21

    Hi firends,
Can any one help me in creating the XML FILE PORT
    Its Urgent
    Thanks
    Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
    Directory
The file is uniquely identified via the directory ("path") and their names.
For IDoc files you may also use a "logical directory", which you assign in transaction FILE dependent on operating system "physical" directories.
    Outbound file
There you can specify a fixed name for the file,
    Thanks

  • Automatically process IDoc to XML File port

    Hi everybody,
I want to send two different IDocs via "XML File" port using change pointers and the distribution modell (one SAP standard, one custom).
I maintained the distribution model and created outbound parameters in partner profile (WE20). Both are set to "Transfer IDoc Immed.".
    1.
Now I change some master data and the change pointers are created. I run RBDMIDOC for both message types and both IDocs are created. But unfortunately they stuck at staus "30 - Idoc ready for dispatch" (yellow). I need to run RSEOUT00 to create the XML files.
Is it possible to avoid a job that runs this report? I want the IDocs to be processed automatically right after creation.
The really strange thing about this is, that it used to work for the standard IDoc (BOMMAT). But I might have changed some settings to get my custom IDoc work too and now both stuck at status 30?! This is what bothers me most...
    2.
When the XML files are created (at the moment after running RSEOUT00) the status in WE05 is "03 - Data passed to port OK" (yellow).
Why is this light still yellow? Everything is fine, the file was created, it should be green. Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Oliver

    Hi,
    thanks for your suggestions.
Unfortunately this did not solve my problems.
    1)
OUTMOD for both messages was 2 (which should be ok). Changing it to 1 did not have any affect.
At least BOMMAT works again (both with OUTMOD 1 and 2). But my custom IDoc still does not get processed automatically.
    2)
Running report RBDMOIND did not change the status of my IDocs. Please keep in mind that it is no tRFC port, but XML File port.
    Best regards,
    Oliver

  • How can I generate IDOC(WPUUMS) from XML file in POSDM or in SAP Retail

    Hallo Retail expert,
                                I have following scenario,
I have Retail Store who send me their daily sales report through Wincor Nixdorf Point of sale. There i am using standard POSLOG2 to SEEBURGER(its a middleware which act as Converter) xml format and then i post that data first in POSDM and then with BAPI i transfer or book that data to SAP Retail.
Above is the one scenario which is working.
    This is the Second scenario.......
I have some external Retail store, they dont have Wincor Nixdorf POS, so they send me their Sales Report through SEEBURGER(its a middle Hardware which act as Converter) and SEEBURGER Convert that Sales data to XML format. My question is....
How can i upload or Convert a XML File into IDOC (WPUUMS)in SAP or in POSDM?
    any new suggestion are welcome.
    Thank you all in advance.
    regards,
    Niel

    Hi,
    1. To get the required XML Schema, use transaction code WE60 to go to the IDoc documentation -> enter the IDoc type you want to use (WPUUMS01). Flag control and data record. Then display the XSD by choosing Documentation -> XML Schema from the menue bar. Now you can donwload the XSD for usage in Seeburger.
    2. Create your mapping from the POS format into the IDoc XML format in Seeburger.
    3. Create an XML File Port in ERP or POS DM using transaction code WE21.
    3. To inbound the XML file from Seeburger into POS DM or SAP Retail Seeburger should trigger the function module EDI_DATA_INCOMING. Parameters for this FM are the Pathname to the XML file and the Portname you just created. Based on the port name the FM can derive the port type xml and the data will be handled as XML data.

  • Create IDOC from XML file

    Hi,
I want to create Scheduling Agreement from idoc using XML file means i am receiving XML file and i want to convert this XML file into IDOC and finally process this IDOC to craete scheduling agreement.
But i don't have any idea for this.pl. tell me what should i do for this.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    Hi,
You are receiving XML file and you want that to converted into the IDOC and inturn to be processed in your system, for this you need to create an XML port and you need to read the file from that port then an IDOC will be created.  Create an XML file port in WE21 transaction and then goto WE16 transaction and you can use that transaction to upload a file as an IDOC into the SAP system.
Once the IDOC is created rest of the activity is same.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Custom IDOC to create XML file

    Hi,
    We are on 4.7 release.
A custom outbound IDOC type is developed to creates a text file at the location entered in FILE type port.
Now we want to create XML file intead of text file. Is it possible by simply changing the port to XML FILE port? Or do we need to do any modifications inside the FMs for the IDOC?
Similarly for Inbound scenario (using custom IDOC type), do we need any chagnes in FMs to handle IDOCS in XML file format?
    Thanks.

You can even do that conversion of idoc to xml by simple method
create a xml port and use the standard fm there
    and it wud handle that.

  • Inbound XML file into ECC6 .. is middleware required?

    Hi
We are running SAP ECC6 and do not have SAP XI.
An external system needs us to send an outbound WMTORD in XML format. We have configured the XML port and succesfully got an xmla file out of the system.
The external system will return a WMSUMO idox in XML format. ... but I am unclear if SAP can process this directly without some middleware or having to run special function modules (somehow?!).
Can anyone help clarify what needs to be done for the inbound xml file ... do I create a file port and SAP simply converts the xml into normal format?
I see some post about running function modules .. im not cleear on what program is used to run these
    Any help appreciated
    Thx

    HI,
To answer your question specifically, No, there is no need for an middleware for your case.
You can just create an inbound port of type xml file port and do the necessary IDOC inbound configuration and that should be enough.

  • Dumping the data to XML file (Event driven )

    Hi ,
Can anybody help me on this requirement .
Whenever there is an updation or change in the HR Master data like insertion of new personnel number or deletion of personnel number then I need to dump the data to XML file . That means I need to make it event driven.
Will it be possible programmatically ?
    Please give me your inputs.

    Hi Bhagat,
isn't it possible to use change pointers for this?
Then in partner profile use an XML file port and it should be done!
Probably this blog could help you:

  • R/3 to MDM: XML files stuck on the port

I am moving some master data from R/3 to SQL (for reconciliation report purposes) and then I built a .net application that translates the data in SQL to XML format and dumps the data in their respective ports.  I have my mapping and schemas defined.
The problem I'm having is, the XML files are not getting picked up in the Ready port and moving to the Archived folder.  There are no exception, and the console gives me a status of, "Has Data" (as opposed to empty or exception), so I know that the system is aware the files are present.
If I call our BASIS team and have them restart the service, then the files get picked up and processed correctly.  The files are scheduled to be picked up every 30 seconds, but any new files that are generated also get stuck.  The other posts we have in the same repository are working fine.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Andrew,
can you please check if in the Console, the Port (Admin node -> Ports) has in the attribute 'Processing' the value automatic?
    Regards,
    Christiane

  • WE21 File port, but I don't want carriage returns

We need to change the way we are sending some delivery IDocs.  We were using an RFC destination, but now want to create a file first, then copy the IDoc text file to another server.  The problem is, we can't change the map that reads this IDoc data.  When I create a file port with WE21, the output file is created with a hex 0d0a (carriage-return line-feed chars) on the end of each segment.  We don't want that.  I could write a little script that strips those characters off, but there is another problem.  The length of the segment needs to match the total of all field lengths, even if there is no data at the end of the segment.  We want to see those trailing spaces.  But when sending to a file port, it removes those trailing spaces and puts the hex 0d0a.  Any suggestions?

Downlaods folder is a temporary internet files folder pretty much. you could just clean it out every once in a while.  if you download google chrome you can just open it with google chrome. i dont think that thats an option with firefox but i could be wrong.
    Hope i helped!

  • AS3 alternatives to *_exclude.xml files, loading class definitions dynamically

I've been banging my head against a wall for this for almost a couple days now and hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
Working in a very large Flash application, previously in AS2/CS3 I would have a setup like the following:
    root.swf
    -- modules
    ---- code_a.swf
    ---- code_b.swf
    -- views
    ---- view_a.swf
    ---- view_b.swf
Using _exclude.xml files, I could exclude the classes defined in code_a and code_b from the ouptut .swf of view_a and view_b. root.swf would be responsible for loading the code modules before view_a or view_b, ensuring that class definitions that view_a and view_b depended on existed.
    The Problem
We've recently migrated to using Actionscript 3/CS5. *_exclude.xml files no longer exist. To get the same functionality as above, I've tried the following:
My setup now looks something like:
    root.swf
    -- modules
    ---- class_a.as
    ---- class_b.as
    -- views
    ---- view_a.swf
    ---- view_b.swf
Use mxmlc to compile root.swf, view_a.swf and view_b.swf, passing it -externs option to specify classes that will be loaded externally (the two classes in modules). This ensures that the class is excluded from the compiled swf.
Use compc to compile class_a.as and class_b.as into classes.swf, using -directory=true to access library.swf for external loading.
However, when I try running one of the two view files which depend on classes.swf, I get runtime errors telling me that a class definition is not present.
    Current Workaround
I've devised a workaround which I'm currently not happy with as it's backwards to the modular approach that I was previously using:
Rather than loading the code modules, I statically link all class definitions required by child movies intoroot.swf. When building root.swf, I use the -link-report option of mxmlc to provide a list of included classes. When building child swfs, I can the use -load-externs to ensure that class definitions that already exist will not be included in the compile output.
Is there a way that anyone is aware of to replicate the AS2/_exclude.xml solution that I had using AS3/CS5?

I'd double check if you are loading the child SWF with correct LoaderContext and/or calling ApplicationDomain.getDefinition() correctly - otherwise you cannot access classes defined in loaded SWF files.
