my sample config File ORACLE_HOME\ord\web\admin\wsc.cfg
from the Oracle HTTP Server Apache/1.3.12 Server
has a misconfiguration and a backup is by murphy.
I think a section entry is not valid and
the log-file has not a error entry .
A new installation was negativ for a new old sample config-file.

  • Class library in a web app and config files

    I built some class libraries and included them in a web project. Where do I put configuration files so the class library can access them? no matter where I put it, i keep getting file not found. What I've been doing is having a JSP read the config details and pass it to the class library. Is there another way?

    I guess the question is where IT thinks the file is? What code are you using to load it?
    I guess what I'm asking is where is the default folder for FileInputStream?The default folder is your runtime working directory. More often than not thats the "bin" directory of Tomcat. Not a great place to go looking for files.
    getResource() and all that can be accessed from the JSP but those aren't available to me from within the class libraries. Are you saying you don't have access to a ClassLoader object that you can call getResource or getResourceAsStream on? You should be able to access things in the WEB-INF/classes directory in that way.
    Given a web app, my first inclination would be to use the ServletContext.getResourceAsStream method.
    Rather than passing in a file name, why not an InputStream, or byte[] ?

  • The Web Agent for IIS will not work

    Environment: NT4 Server, IIS4
    I try to install the Web Agent in use with IIS but IIS fails to load the dll. After the installation I can read the event-log :
    The HTTP server was unable to load the ISAPI Application 'C:\Oracle\Ora81\ord\web\bin\wsciis81.dll'. The data is the error.
    And the Browser gives me:
    A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
    What can be wrong?

    Note: On Windows NT, use \ instead of / to separate file system directory
    paths.
    1. Check the Web Agent's log file.
    Look in <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs for a log file in the form
    wsc_<yyyymmdd>_<pid>.log. If the file exists, review it for errors,
    then take the necessary action to remedy the problem. Possible
    problems that might be logged are non-recoverable errors in the Web
    Agent's configuration file <oracle_home>/ord/web/admin/wsc.cfg. If the
    configuration file or the <oracle_home>/ord/web directory hierarchy
    doesn't exist, then re-do the installation.
    2. Check the Web Agent's "last-chance" error log file.
    If the <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs directory exists, but there are no
    log files, check in the %SystemRoot% directory on Windows NT or the
    /tmp directory on Unix for a file named wsclstch.err. This is the Web
    Agent's "last-chance" error log file. The Web Agent will try to write
    to this file if it encounters a fundamental startup error, such as a
    problem initializing CORE or NLS, creating a log file, or opening its
    message file. If the file exists, review it for errors, then take the
    necessary action to remedy the problem. (In a command window on
    Windows NT, type set SystemRoot to find where the wsclstch.err file
    would be written.)
    3. Check the web server configuration.
    If the Web Agent failed to create either its normal log file or its
    "last-chance" error log file, verify that the Web Agent has been
    configured correctly for the particular web server being used and that
    the web server is running.
    o Microsoft IIS
    Use the Internet Service Manager to verify that IIS has been
    configured correctly for the Web Agent. Review the installation
    and configuration instructions in the wsciis.html or wsciis.txt
    files to verify that the Web Agent has been configured correctly
    and to make any changes or fixes necessary. Check that the filter
    is up and running and that the virtual path has been configured.
    To check the filter, select the web site, then click the
    properties button (or right-click the web site icon). Select the
    Filters tab. The Web Agent should appear in the list with a green
    up-arrow. If it appears with a red down-arrow, check the Windows
    NT event log for any errors relating to the Web Agent. IIS
    doesn't always write detailed error messages. For example, if a
    DLL used by the Web Agent can't be located, then IIS typically
    logs the fact that a load error occurred along with the message
    "the data was the error". Note that the installation and
    configuration instructions describe the case where the filter
    must be installed manually if there were no existing filters
    registered at the time the Web Agent for IIS was installed.
    If the filter looks OK, check the oracle_intermedia_bin virtual
    path by clicking the properties button (or right-click the
    virtual path icon). The path should reference the
    <oracle-home>\ord\web\bin directory, which should contain the
    wsciis81.dll file. In the properties window, select the directory
    security tab, then click the anonymous access and authentication
    control button. Verify that Basic authentication has been checked
    and that Windows NT challenge/response has been cleared.
    To function correctly, the Oracle8i home must be specified
    correctly for IIS. Use the Oracle Home Selector to verify that
    the Oracle8i home is specified as the default home. Use the
    System Control Panel to verify that the Oracle8i home /bin
    directory is specified prior to any other Oracle homes in the
    PATH environment variable.

    Hi
    Is there a way we can search a specific word in web.config using powershell.
    I have an entry of "user name" in the connection string. I want to find what the user name is and whether its a correct user name or not based on the criteria set in the script.

  • SQL Agent Job failing - not using credentials in the config file for Data source

    Hi
    We have an SSIS pkg, that is secheduled as SQL Agent job using proxy account. The pkg contanins data source for connecting different SQL servers and the proxy account do not have access to the external DBs. The data source credentials are stored in the Config
    file.
    Why the job is not using the credentials in the config file and try to use the proxy account and failing.
    Do the proxy account need access to all the external dbs in the pkg, and then what is the purpose of the config file.
    I am sorry, i am not SSIS person trying to understand. If any one can explain tha will be great!!
    Thank you!

  • HttpBinding not working when HttpHandler tag is present in web.config file

    Hi,
    I tried to add a WCF service in WCF Test Client using HttpBinding. But I couldn't add the service. I got the below error.
    There was an error downloading 'http://localhost/Services/PostOffice.svc/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/$metadata'.
    The request failed with an empty response.
    Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://localhost/Services/PostOffice.svc'.
    The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error.
    If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again.
    I removed the below code in the Web.Config, later I was able to add the WCF service to the WCF test client.
    <httpHandlers>
    <add type="System.ServiceModel.Activation.HttpHandler, System.ServiceModel.Activation, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" path="Telerik.ReportViewer.axd" verb="*" validate="true" />
    </httpHandlers>
    I'm not sure with the above code. Could you please let me what is the reason behind it and what is the use of above code and if I remove it how does it affect my application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep Pinniti,
    Please try to add the following config in your config file:
    <system.webServer>
    <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false"/>
    The validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" will allow us to keep our httpHandlers section populated without throwing an error. And I have tested in my side,
    it works fine.

  • How can I use my log4j config file of my web project in ias?

    I used log4j in my web project. So I put a config file "log4j.properties" in my project WEB-INF/classes/.

    I can only see my log in "$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs", and some message I nedd is losed, such as the class name, line,datetime, Thread and so on.
    I think the config file of my project is't work, maybe log4j use some config file of ias but me.thx
    So where is the log4j config file of ias, can i modify it ?
    Or how can I let my project use my config file not ias? Any one can help me, thx!

  • Maximum size video upload settings in web config file

    Hi, i am providing video support in my application, whereas i need to provide support to upload video without any size limit, say for example atleast 1GB video should be uploaded and played via html5 and iframe tag. I have made some changes in web config

  • SSIS - Change Config File Path LOCATION in SQL Agent Job Step (NOT USING DTEXEC)

    SSISers;
    I am not new to ssis but am trying to deal with promoting of ssis config files differently for a specific project. We are using SQL 2008 R2.
    As a standared pattern used for years, we just use SQL Agent, build a job step for the ssis package, add the ssis package as SQL Integration Services Package type from fileshare (not using Integration Services), and add the necessary production
    config files in the configutation tab of the job step. Easy.  We do not execute our packages with DTEXEC command line.
    A new project has the developers leaving the config files in the package - not removing the config files for deployment. Is there a way to override JUST THE CONFIG FILE PATH LOCATION in the job step for ssis package? Remember, we are NOT using dtexec.
    I was told that /SET might do it but I do not see a good example anywhere of hooking this in and how it works for a CONFIG FILE PATH LOCATION - I see variable overrides but not CONFIG FILE PATH LOCATION. The packages were written with Absolute config file
    path and not Relative path.
    Please understand that my goal is to let them leave the packages as is, we move the config files to the production sever and all we have to do is flip the location of where the config files are sitting for the ssis pacakge to look for them.  We would
    rather NOT have to use DTEXEC command  line with the job step for reasons that I do no need to get into on this forum.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi mg30,
    There is no way to overwrite the XML configurations file just through modifying the SQL Server Agent job steps.  The Dtexec utility will apply the default package configurations for the second time after applying the options specified in the command
    lines or other package configurations configured in the job step.
    If the package is not deployed/installed, the Dtexec utility looks for the XML configurations file according to the file path defined in the Package Configurations Organizer window. In this situation, you need to either disable the package configurations
    or modify the XML file path in the BIDS.
    If the package is already deployed/installed, you need to modify the package as above or re-specify the install folder for the package configurations file.

    Can these be resolved in a similar manner. Some additional information would be great (as sjoegarrett I can also ignore them, but would prefer if these could be eliminated).

  • Retrieving file name using web agent

    When uploading to the database using interMedia web agent and an HTML form, is the file name (as well as the file contents) passed to the agent?
    If so, how does one retrieve the file name on the server side?
    Thanks for insight.

    Hi John,
    OK, you got me thinking, so I just had to look :-) Turns out its not in the documentation as such. Its in the doc changes section at the end of the README. (Because, now I really think about it, I added the code after the docs were last updated).

  • Dashboards web service config file set up

    I am new to dashboards and want to understand, how do we make a web service connection to the dashboard?
    We previously had the web services set up and never got a chance to set it up, but now there is a need to set it up in our own machines.
    The issue exactly being faced right now is:
    we tried setting up the web service config file and it works when we execute it ( i.e. I get a URL) but it comes as
    http://localhost:2910/QueryService.asmx
    which we tried using as  " http://localhost:2910/QueryService.asmx?wsdl " in the dashboard connection manager and i am able to get the methods (runSQLQuery etc).
    When trying to see the dashboard in the bo Infoview, we get the below error:
    To access external data, add a Cross Domain policy file  to the external data web server.
    Please help me in understanding the issue and significance of all these things.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Khushboo

    First of all change localhost to proper host name or IP address in connection.
    You need to place crossdomain policy file in the root of the web server. Please check this for details:

  • Need to append the assembly entry in web.config file while installing NuGet

    Hi,
    Consider that I need to create three NuGets. Second and third are dependents for first one. Each one has its own web.config file, which file content is same except one tag's value. While I'm installing the first NuGet, it will install the second and third too
    which is fine. The NuGets are installing one by one. But the issue is while I'm installing the NuGet in an ASP.NET project, the web.cofig file gets replace with one another that means the last NuGet's web.config file is only remains at last. But I need to
    append that tag value one by one. Is there any possibilities to create NuGets in that way? Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.
    I need this...
    <assemblies>
    <add assembly="Abc.EM, Version=10.0.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89" />
    <add assembly="Def.EM, Version=10.0.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89" />
    <add assembly="Ghi.EM, Version=10.0.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89" />
    </assemblies>
    But I got this...
    <assemblies>
    <add assembly="Ghi.EM, Version=10.0.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3d67ed1f87d44c89" />
    </assemblies>

    Hi mathikp,
    One solution is to use the DTE object model to find the ASP.NET project, enumerate all the project items in the project to find the Web.config file. Then change the content by your self. This will be done after you install the Nuget package in the project.
