Web Dynpro Runtime

Hi all,
Could anyone explain me
1. what a web dynpro runtime in visual composer?
2. How can a visual composer model run in a web dynpro runtime?
Regards,
Divya

Hi,
It is said that after compiling the model, GML code is converted into XGL code and by using flex or webdynpro runtime engine it is then converted into some specific executable format.
1) What is the executable code format?
2) Finally is the executable code converted into par files for deploying into the portal?
Regards,
Divya

    Hi,
as Govindu mentioned only webservices are suported in the webdynpro runtime. Check [this wiki page |https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/Flashvs.WebDynpro] for more details.

  • Problems using Visual Composer with Web Dynpro runtime

I am currently trying to build a Visual Composer iView and we need to use the Web Dynpro runtime rather than Flash because it needs to work with a screen reader for users with sight problems.  Which is a pity because Flash works fine. But when I use Web Dynpro runtime I'm getting the following problems:
    a) When I define fields and pushbuttons in forms where Align Contents is set to Absolute, they do not appear at runtime in the positions in which I've placed them - all form elements are aligned vertically.  The only other options are to align all fields vertically or align all fields horizontally.  This lack of flexibility makes it rather difficult to create a good screen design; the only option seems to be to create a separate form for each set of differently aligned fields, which leads on to the next problem.  .
    b) When I define more than one form on a page, again at runtime the forms do not always appear in the positions in which I've placed them; the compiler seems to calculate how much space it needs to display the screen elements and then re-sizes and  re-positions the forms accordingly, ignoring what I've told it to do.
    c) Toolbar pushbuttons do not appear on forms (they do appear on tables).  Irritating, but at least I can still create pushbuttons on the form itself.
There are other issues, but the main problems is that it appears that when I use VC with Web Dynpro I cannot trust the editor layout at all and the only way I can build something that looks decent is to fiddle about with  field / form sizes and positions, checking every change on the output, until hopefully I get it looking ok.  Having to do this will dramatically increase the time taken to develop VC applications.  Has anyone else experienced these problems with VC and Web Dynpro?  Has anyone managed to overcome them?

Thanks, but neither of these describes the problems I've been having.  And they are misleading since they say that you can use VC with Web Dynpro only with Web Services ie not directly with BAPIs / RFCs, but using it with BAPIs / RFCs is one of the few things that works well in our system.
The most recent problem I've found is that if you make a form or table read-only it will stay read-only in Flash but the fields are editable in Web Dynpro.  The individual field disable option does work for Web Dynpro, but it turns the fields from black to a vey pale and almost invisible grey (this doesn't happen in Flash).  And you can't seem to change this.
It does seem to be a bit pathetic that input fields can't be made read only.  I've tried expression boxes, which are read-only anyway, but they appear in as pale a grey as the disabled input fields.  And although plain text fields can be added to tables, they are pretty useless since they can only hold a single value and so all the lines will contain the same value.
I guess I should resign myself to the fact that I am never going to be able to produce a decent screen using VC and Web Dynprp.

  • How to show the detail information of web dynpro runtime error

    hi,
I'm a java developer,During i 'deploy and run ' a web dynpro application on server-1,if the application have some runtime errors. there are displayed many infomation about the runtime error, such as exception track, etc.
But when i do the same on server-2,there just show something like:
    500 Internal Server Error
SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00
Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
but the server-1 will stop the j2ee engine.
how can do i make server-2 show detail error message as server-1. when i debug web dynpro application need these infomation.
    Appreciate your inputs...
(Note:server-1 and server-2 have same software version, i have setup the 'developmode' value is 'true' in VA)

  • Web dynpro runtime library

    Dear all,
We have a j2ee library that contains classes from a java project. Those classes are using Web Dynpro classes, for example: IWDNode.
When i'm running a web dynpro application i get a classnotfound exception for the iwdnodeinfo class used in the j2ee library. I've already references from the j2ee library to ejb20 to know those classes @ runtime. What is the library that contains the web dynpro classes?
On my local drive, i found "_webdynpro_progmodel.jar" among others. This jar contains the iwdnode class and other web dynpro classes. What is the development component that contains these jars?
    Kind regards,
    J.

    Hi,
I have the same problem as described here: Deployment failure upon certain conditions
My j2ee library contains classes with Web Dynrp classes. (IWDNodeInfo, IWDNodeElement, ...)
Isnt there a library or so that contains these classes and that can be referenced from my J2EE library? I did the same for EJB20 library and that is working fine.
When i try referencing tc/wd/webdynrp (a service that contains the jars i need) i get the error described in the above thread when deploying my web dynpro application. I also think my j2ee library isnt deployed correctly when i reference td/wd/webdynpro because i cannot see it in the classloader viewer service in visual adminstrator. Without the reference, i can see it here.
    Kind regards,
    J.

  • [Web Dynpro]How to add a new function in the implementation of a view?

    Hi, all,
I'm trying to add a inputfield check method in the viewname.java , the method is used to check all the 12 inputfields in the view, at least one inputfield should be filled.(Is there any other methods I can use to do this job?)
however, when I clicked the save meta data button, the function disappeared from the viewname.java. The import statements were still there and showed that they are never used...
Could you please give me some hints to avoiding this?
I want to save my function in the viewname.java.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi folks,
    I'm somewhat new to WebDynpro and when I want to declare my own methods I generaly put them at the bottom of the file underneath the comment;
       * The following code section can be used for any Java code that is
       * not to be visible to other controllers/views or that contains constructs
       * currently not supported directly by Web Dynpro (such as inner classes or
       * member variables etc.). </p>
       * Note: The content of this section is in no way managed/controlled
       * by the Web Dynpro Designtime or the Web Dynpro Runtime.
      //@@begin others
This way I can delare them as private methods for the class. Am I wrong in saying that anything you declare in the 'Methods' tab will be public?
Since I'm new to WebDynpro I don't know all the best practices so any clarification here will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Patrick.

Probably the usual problem of deploying an application built with a newer NWDS (SP11) on an older server (SP9).
But without the stacktrace this is only a guess.

    Hi Gurprit,
A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:
    In wdDoInit() method:
    wdContext.currentNodeAElement.setValueA("");
    Context is as follows:
    RootNode
      |____NodeA
            |_____ValueA
    Hope it helps.

  • Queries on Web Dynpro

    Hi All
    I have few queries
    1. Is it possible to launch an external web application in new browser using suspend plug? If yes can you please share the details how can we do it?
    2. Is there any API available in Web DynPro which I can use to launch an external application in new browser window on click on a button?
    3. Does HttpUrlConnection work inside Web DynPro runtime? I tried to use it in a web dynpro application to check http responsecode but in all run I got exception like connection timed out or invlid url.
    Thanks in advance
    Sudip

    Hi Shikhil
    Thanks for your reply.
But sorry, I couldn't make sense out of it. The requirement is specifically having a button on the screen on click on which a new browser will be launched with an external web application.
You mentioned to have a LinkToUrl and a LinkToAction but the flow you said not clear to me. LinkToUrl doesn't have an action attached to it and user needs to click on the link explicitly for launching the url . So if I even open a new window on action of LinkToAction how can it automatically launch the url in new browser using LinkToUrl?
    Thanks
    Sudip

  • Problem deploying Web Dynpro Application Definition

    Hi,
I have written a Web Dynpro and then deployed it to an EP6 NW04 server without first defining the Web Dynpro Application (silly me, I know - how could I do such a thing?). Anyway, afterwards, I created the Web Dynpro Application definition, but no matter how many times I redeploy, it does not add it to the Web Dynpro now sitting on the server.
    Können Sie mir bitte helfen?

    Hi
    Martin,
