Web Dynpro -Testing

Hi all,
I have installed the NW Sneak Preview of ABAP. I have tried the Sample program in my PC. i am able to activate the objects but i am not able to run or test the development
Pls suggest me how to test or run the development

In Web Dynpro ABAP, you have the Web Dynpro Component, this is the object at the very top of the tree structure. Applications are like entries points into your component. Think of them like transactions in a module pool program. So you need to create an "application" under your component. Right-click on you component, and choose, create, webdynpro application. This is a separate object, so you must save/activate it . Now the application should show up in the tree structure to the left. Right-click this and choose "Test". Your browser will open and your app will be running in it.
You must have seen this step in the tutorials.

How to debug during Web Dynpro Test...from SAP Pop-Up Window?

How can I go into SAP logic in test mode when my WebDynpro is being displayed with an SAP Pop-up? I want to jump into SAP debug from there into SAP code....Thank-You.

In the Popup application that opens in the web, right click on any UI element in the window.
The right clicked context window displays an option "More help field"
Click on that.
Here you are given the Technical Information for UI Element.
Here you would be given the webdynpro Component name and the webdynpro view name
Now logon to the SAP system, click on SE80
Select the menu tab repository browser
In the drop down select the WebDynpro Comp/Intf
Input the webdynpro name here
Look for the view that was displayed in the technical component under this component
Click on the view and navigate to the Methods tab.
Double click on the WDDOINIT method and place a breakpoint here. This is the first point thats hit after the event handler of the inbound plug is executed.

500 Internal Server Error - Working with Web Dynpro

I need some help regarding "Web Dynpro's"
When i try and and run the test from :- Support Desk- Web Dynpro Test Tools-
Portal Navigation, the following error occurs:-
500 Internal Server Error
While processing the current request, an exception occured which could not be handled by the application or the framework.

I have created a Web Dynpro App with a Adobe Form as the frontend. I have included the caf/eu/gp/api as a DC and implemented the IGPWebDynproCO interface. Next I created a Web Dynpro Callable object in GP and ran a test and received the following error:
Result: Technical Exception
Details: Could not create web dynpro callable object component
Output Parameters
Callable object implementation did not return output parameters
Can anyone help me resolve this? Do I have to make a manual entry in the HOST file? If so, what is that entry? Are there alternatives?

Hi,
For creating WD callable object you need to add following three DC in your WD DC project.
In the Web Dynpro Explorer of the Web Dynpro Perspective, expand the node DC MetaData -> DC Definition, and select Used DCs.
a.      To create a DC dependency, open the context menu and choose Add Used DC.
b.      Select Local Development -> SAP-EU -> caf/eu/gp/api/wd -> DC MetaData -> Public Parts -> GPWebDynproCO. For Dependency Type, select Build Time, Design Time, and Run Time. Choose weak from the dropdown list.
c.      Repeat the previous step to define a dependency to DCs SAP-EU-> caf/eu/gp/api (public part external) and SAP-JEE -> com.sap.security.api.sda (public part default).
You need to do one more thing like bellow.
Select your Web Dynpro project and open its context menu. Choose Properties.
1. Choose Web Dynpro References -> Library References.
2. Add a reference for library caf/eu/gp/api.

Error while testing web dynpro application

I am trying to test a webdynpro application, following error is being generated.
The problem is, that I when I try to create a View for a Web Dynpro, the layout window reports the following error message:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL:
http://<url-of-remote-machine>:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?
The following error was encountered:
Connection to <ip-of-remote-machine> Failed
The system returned:
(110) Connection timed outThe remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.

About test a web dynpro application

When i test a web dynpro application, the IE
web page constantly refresh.
Who encounter this issue?
This is a very strange problem.

which IE are you running?
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher, will work
Mine is Internet Explorer 6.0, sp2 working fine.
No Support for '_' in Host Names
The browser does not accept cookies if a host name contains the underscore character '_'.
Since Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and MS Internet Explorer 5.5 including security patch MS01-055 cannot accept any domain names with underscore characters, session cookies cannot be saved. This will result in terminations when navigating within a Web application.

Getting Error while test executing the Web-Dynpro object.

I am new to Web-dynpro and this is my 1st demo application.
Application simply contains two Views : First used to submit a field which is collected in the second view for display.
While test runnning the application as: Web Dynpro_Component -> Create -> Web Dynpro Application, I am giving the Plug name as 'DEFAULT'.
While testng the Web-Dynpro I get the error : Starter Plug DEFAULT does not exist..
Please suggest what is to be done.

Hi Sharma,
When u created a Web Dynpro Application , In Properties tab of the application,mention the view that displays,when application starts. Coming to the View ,make sure that In Bound Plugs of that view is having plugname DEFAULT as startup plug.

Testing thru NWDS: Error replaying a recorded Web dynpro java application

The testing seems pretty straight forward..
I am able to record a web dynpro application and it generates a test script file with extension .testscript but when i replay the generated test script it gives me the following error:

Seems like some configuration needs to be done at the J2EE server level enabling some XML service etc.
I will be highly obliged if someone can guide me how to remove this error and replay the recorded application..

If the locale for the Web Dynpro iView is changed in the portal (through portal personalization), this is not reflected in the running login session. The user needs to logoff and login again, in order to see the locale change in the Web Dynpro iView.

When I test the web dynpro page, the browser does not display it !

I have (SAP EHP 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0) trial version installed in my laptop. Lately, I took course NET310 about web dynpro. I started doing the exercises but when I test my work, the browser (Internet Explorer 8) does not display the page I created but it displays a page has the following message (Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage). When I installed the SAP, one of the requirements was (Domain), so I entered one but the one I entered does not exist. If this is the issue, then I have to create a domain with the same name but how can I do this in my laptop? (my laptop has Windows 7)

Issues regarding the testing of the web dynpro abap service

I am working on web dynpro (ABAP). After activating the whole object. When I test the web dynpro service. The browser gives me the following error.
The server <server_name> is taking too long to respond.
I am new to Web Dynpro ABAP, can anyone please help me telling, whether i have to configure system for testing the web dypro object. If yes then how to configure it.
also in the view the layout is not showing the elements to be included in the service.

Hi Zhihua,
First delete all the cookies from your browser.
Close all the internet sessions which are opened in your system. During your script recording
Open only 1 session which you will be recording for java script.
The above mention log is the cookies from the internet explorer.
its of no use for the script you can even delete from the script.
