Web Enabling SAP R/3 Transactions in the Portal

Hi,
Our requirement is to web enable SAP R/3 (>4.6) transactions in the portal (EP 6.0). We don't want to check for user authorization in the portal as all these things are done in the R/3 system. We just want to have an iView in the portal which will show all the transactions user is authorized for (in the R/3 system). I think it will be something similar to when the user logs into the R/3 system using SAP GUI.
Just to make it more clear, I am not looking for web enabling of a single R/3 transaction. I am looking for the web enabling of R/3 system as a whole in the portal.
Can anyone please tell the steps to do the same?
Please let me know for any clarifications.
Regards,
Chandra

Hi ,
Well first of all, nthis kind of interface is not suggested. But still if you need this kind of interface.
then you need to have a seperate installation of ITS server. You need to define a SAP transaction based Iview.
In property you can call any normal transaction, which gererally every user will have access to.
Now attach this iview to any existing iview or create a new iview in Portal Content.
Add the concerned page to a role/create a workset and add this page to it. and workset to concerned user role.
this will take care of your requirement.
if you need exact steps please let me knoe.

  • WEBGUI SAP R/3 Transactions in the Portal not working

    Hi,
    Platform: EP7, SP11
backend: WAS ABAP 6.4, sap erp central component 5
ITS integrated, published and working ok.
The thing is, I've created a Sap TX iView, with property SAPGUI for HTML and the preview always shows the SMEN tx regardless of any TRANSACTION CODE provided when creating the iView.
Tryied to specify different transaction codes but nothing helped.
I believe that system alias and systems are ok, if not, the SMEN tx would never show up when previewing iview.
Proof of ITS working fine is when executing this:
    http://<its_server>:8001/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!?sap-client=200&sap-user=<user>&sap-password=<pwd>&~transaction=scc4
Hope I'm clear, any ideas will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Window size of web-enabled SAP transaction in an iView

I have a problem which maybe a bug concerning a web-enabled SAP transaction within a Portal iView.  If the transaction is an ABAP report or a Dynpro program that requires a wide display area, the display is cut-off which requires to user to use the scroll bars.  However, if manually entering the SAP transaction within the tCode input-field of the web-enabled transaction inside the iView, the window length changes and thereby the scroll bar disappears.
I would like to know how to set the inital width of the web-enabled iView so that there are no scroll bars when the iView opens an SAP transaction which requires a wide display area.  I've tried both the Wizards for creating iViews for R/3 and SAP transactions without success.

    Hi,
You have to set the iview property to FULL-PAGE and height to be some 8000 in the portal then the problem solves.

  • WEB ENABLING OF R/3 TRANSACTIONS IN PORTAL

    Hi,
I was going through different forums on SDN regarding this subject and at lot of places, it is said that ITS takes care of conversion of R/3 screens to html screens. So even if it is a custom transaction, developer doesn't need to worry for web enabling a transaction in the portal.
Now I have two questions regarding this
    1. How to web enable a standard transaction?
    1. Is web enabling for a standard transaction and custom transaction done in the same way? If not, how is it done for custom transactions.
    2. If web enabling (conversion from sap gui to html) is taken care by ITS itself, what is the need of importing business packages on the portal side.
Any response to this is highly appreciated.
Please let me know for any clarifications.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    > 1. How to web enable a standard transaction?
You need to have your SMICM and SICF settings in place and running.
    > 1. Is web enabling for a standard transaction and
    > custom transaction done in the same way? If not, how
    > is it done for custom transactions.
In ITS you need to develop and publish an Internet service which is roughly an equivalent to r/3 transaction.
    > 2. If web enabling (conversion from sap gui to html)
    > is taken care by ITS itself, what is the need of
    > importing business packages on the portal side.
I'm not entirely familiar with the SAP portal solution, but once the service is published through ITS it is accessible through any browser, so any portal not just from SAP should be able to display it.
One big benefit of having 640 over earlier versions is to have one sap instance serve the web pages to your browser.
The actual human interface of "web-enabled" transactions is very similar to standard sapgui, so it looks like the old transaction, but is often slower and more clunky.

  • Web Enabled SAP environments

I would be interested to know why people have chosen to use PHP in a SAP environment.
I started using PHP with SAP because the clients I worked for did not have a SAP environment with any web functionality. Therefore without PHP it would be quite difficult to create any web based applications with SAP integration.
If you have the luxury of working within a web enabled SAP environment, why would you use PHP to integrate with SAP?
The latest SAP products provide tools to create native web applications.

I'm actually coming from the side where you have your ABAP developers and your web developers and now with the current state of things management wants the two working together.
For smaller companies they have most likely used PHP or something similiar because of costs, I mean the ABAP and SAP people stole all the money for licenses right? OK, that was just a joke.
But for a smaller company the dual development environment could be the more cost effective solution. The ABAP people may have no web experience or time for development in the web environment whereas the web developer most likely have no ABAP experience and therefore that dual situation is already in exsitence.
I work for a rather large company and we have this actually. Or ABAP people have no web development experience and our, in this case, JAVA guys have no SAP experience however many of our JAVA guys have played around with PHP so therefore they can now use JCo or SAPRFC.  For us the idea is that we continue to build the JAVA or PHP apps since there are so many of them and now begin to integrate calls via RFC to SAP backend systems.
So it depends on which angle you take JAVA/PHP could be the primary language and ABAP the secondary or vice versa it all depends on which developer you talk to.
And becasue of resources, cost, time etc. the dual environment is a better way to go. Now eventually in time the idea is bring the two completely together in which case both environments would no longer be neccessary - however no one knows when that will occur so until then...

Does any one have solution for this? I'm using BO XI 3.1

    Hi Peter,
try this solution oryginally posted by Craig Brandt in another topic.
Firstly make sure you have no old Java installs or 'add ons' lingering about on your system, check in programs and features (assuming your using windows 7) and uninstall Java completely. Check the add ons in IE and show: 'All add ons' - remove manually if required. Do a clean up of the computers temp files and cache. I used a program called ccleaner. Also check c:\users\<username>\app data\locallow\ and delete the 'Sun' folder. Then reboot machine.
    - Install latest Java 1.7.0_51
    - Go to Java control panel in windows control panel
    - add the exception for your BOBJ server e.g. http://<SERVER>:8080
    - click continue
    - go to the advanced tab
    - scroll down and tick 'use TLS 1.2'
    - apply or OK to exit java control panel
    - open 'Internet Options'
    - go to the 'advanced' tab
    - scroll down and tick 'use TLS 1.2'
    - OK everything and close any IE windows
Now try again, you will need to enable the 'add on' when prompted on opening IE for the first time.
Also when accessing the BI Web I for the first time, I placed a tick in the 'do not show this again for apps from this publisher'
    Work for me!

  • SSO to mulitple SAP GUI based systems in the Portal

    Hi Experts,
I need to create links for multiple SAP Systems (based on the SAP GUI) in the portal and implement SSO for them. Can someone tell me where and how to place these links in the portal? Is there a standard approach for this, like a "Systems" iview or something?
    Regards,
    Shobhit

    Hi,
So have you created 5 diiferent systems on Portal corresponding to your backend systems :
    SAP ERP Dev
    SAP ERP Qua
    SAP ERP Prd
    SAP CRM Dev
    SAP SEM Dev
Once you create the systems and the alias to these systems, you can create 5 iviews, one for each of these systems using SAP transaction iviews. The transaction code could be S000.
To learn how to create systems and SAP Transaction iviews, use these links :
    <b>Creating system :</b> http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ec/0fe43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/content.htm
    <b>Editing system -> Editing SAP System properties </b> http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/42/11e43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
The above links should help you create SAP systems and their aliases.
Then you need to create SAP Transaction iviews:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/88/266a3e54a2e946e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
To open these iviews as a pop-up or in a new window, set the following property for each of these iviews in the property category "Drag and Relate" : Launch in New Window = Display in separate window.
Set the <b>permission Read for Group Everyone</b> for each of these iviews.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Sunil

  • Dynamic Web Template Override in an  IView in the portal

We have successfully copied and changed the default web template for displaying queries in the portal and it works fine.  We also use BI planning and would like to use a different template when a planning query is executed.  Does anyone know if there is a way to override the default template for a query on a case by case basis?   That is, when creating the web template IView, can an alternate web template somehow be specified in addition to the query or is there any exit that provides this type of control?

    Hi,
sorry, this is no solution - but I can confirm the problem with anonymous service access. Maybe It is helping a little bit enclosing the problem.
It occurs regardless of authentication mode of the accessed service from iView. It happens with all system objects (web services and other PCD Systems). This problem is regardless of the Web Service or system authentication method. For auth services we tried user mapping - but doesn't work like with non-auth. services.
I can confirm that there are no problems running the same config with an authenticated portal user.
Technicaly the anonymous user is a authenticated user too, (J2EE_GUEST). He is logged in automatically during portal access with the browser. It seems there is a restriction in handling the anonymous group.
There is a other 4 week old thread on SDN, relating to the same problem (unsolved) "an XML element was malformed" error with anonymous user
I keep looking for a solution.

    Michael

  • Visibility of non-SAP reports and documents in the Portal

    Hi All,
I am new to the portal forum and need your direction.  We have the need for outside users to view static reports and documents not generated by SAP on the portal.  Can anyone point me to documentation on how this can be accomplished? We do not have Knowledge Management installed and my research seems to show that KM is the only way, is there another and how can we do it?
    Thanks for your help.
    Pam

    Pam,
How are your reports served?  If they are served up by URL, you can create a URL iview back to the source system.  If you need to store them in the portal system then you need KM.

  • SRM 7.0 Reports in the "SRM Reports" transaction on the portal - need BW?

We have an SRM 7.0 sandbox and noticed there is a transaction called "SRM Reports".  When we try to run the reports listed we get the error "Page not found or not available".
I am wondering if BW is required to run these reports?  If not has anyone else run into this error?

    Hi,
Yes - The reports assume existance of a BW system to query from.

  • CATS Transaction via the Portal - Nervous Finger - OSS 619683

Hi - we are on Portals 6.0 (moving to Portals 7.0). We have a problem whereby users with 'Nervous Finger' symptom click multiple times on the CATS transaction and therefore create lock entries in table SM12. These lock entries then have to be manually unlocked or wait until timeout occurs before disappearing. We have read OSS 619683 which suggests there is no real solution for this problem. If anyone can suggest a solution which they have used at their organisation to avoid this issue it would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Paul Roney

    Hi Paul,
So I assume you are using ITS. If that;s the case, add an entry in the service file of the ITS (global.srvc)
    ~multisessionXXX 0
I am not sure about the spelling though. Is starts with multisession. By default it will be 1. Change it to 0.

  • Web enable of Custom transaction

    Hi Group,
I have a requirement to web enable a custom dialog transaction on the intranet/internet. I wanted to know whether it is possible and how much effort will it take.
What all possible solutions are available? What are the advantages of using one over the other.
Please let me know at the earliest.
    Regards,
    Ankur Bhandari

    Hi Ankur
The easiest method is using SAP GUI HTML method of ITS.There you need not do anything . If you have ITS You can directly call the transaction onto web without much effort.but some of the controls does not work properly in this method as it is autmatically converted to web.this is the easiest and very less time consuming method.
There are other methods of ITS also available. where you can change the templates or create your own templates for web.
You can also go for BSP's where you can design the screen and write the logic again in ABAP.

    Hello Ankur,
the easiest way is to install an ITS (Internet Transaction Server) and run the Transaction with SAP GUI for HTML. With this solution you don't have to do any programming. Other ways to <a href="/people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/09/05/access-sap-r3-from-external SAP R/3 from External</a> are described in this <a href="/people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/09/05/access-sap-r3-from-external.
