Web Layer locked into sharing on all states?

Is there any way to unlock the web layer so that it doesn't share all hotspots/slices on all states within a page? I would like to modify the hotspots of a page based on the current state.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To go to a specific state via a hotspot link, you'd need to be able to target that state somehow—for example, by assigning it an ID. But I don't think Fireworks offers that ability. Again, I think that's because states are intended primarily for creating animated GIFs. (FYI: States were originally called "frames".)
You'd also have to think about how the state is being output. Pages are output as HTML files, but states... are usually components of an animated graphic, I think. Unless you export them separately as standalone files.

I imagine you could design your calendar and its components in Fireworks, using separate pages. Then you'd output to HTML and have to do a bit of hand-coding to add the lightbox script and its accompanying javascript library (if required), as well as making any other small modifications necessary to "hook up" the lightbox to the HTML page, as directed by the instructions provided with the lightbox.

Got a new computer, did the home sharing, downloaded all tunes into new laptop but not all of the songs can be played now

as said above..New laptop, downloaded Itunes. Home shared, downloaded all tunes into new Itunes butalthough they are there some are greyed out and will not play. How do i fix this ?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

TS4006 Find My Phone... send sound, message, lock or erase? All I get on the site, and the app is the map. My issue is "How To" send sound, lock, erase, etc

How do I send a sound? Lock? Erase? On iCloud web site Find My Phone link there is only the map. No links or any other instruction. Please tell me where to find this information. If I lose my phone I need to be able to use my computer to go to iCloud.com and use these features not just locate it on the map.

Just my $0.02 worth - relying on remote tracking to lock an iPhone after it goes missing is completely false security. The time to put the passcode lock into effect is now, while you have control of the devie. Once it is gone, by the time you log in and try to lock it, it may be far too late and someone will have had complete access to your device and all its content for some time.

System locked into power saving mode

I have a A6000n tower with Vista home premium 32 bite system which was pre-loaded. The problem is the system is locked into power saving mode, the keyboard is not functioning,I have already tried other keyboards which all do not function!
I have tried to turn off and turn back on the system to be able to boot to a bootable startup disc but the system is frooze.
If anyone has had this type of problem and has had a correct approach to fix it please notify me A.S.A.P. Thanks

Update the the video driver from the NVIDIA web site.
Your PC bios should be 5.29 or higher so that is something to check.
The Truckee motherboard was recalled but you might be past that date.

Duplicate web layer

Hi all,
I've been searching and can't find the answer to this. I have
tried to move on to Fireworks from Imageready now I have no choice,
but I am having trouble finding the same features that imageready
offered... Could anyone tell me:
1. How do I duplicate a sub-layer in the Web Layer? I have a
set of buttons with rollover states. In Imageready I could create
one set with the OFF state, then duplicate that and it would keep
all the slice names the same. Then I could just change the OFF bit
to ON at the end of each title. Does anyone know a good way of
doing this in Fireworks?
2. If I duplicate a slice, can I keep the filename the same?

But they will. The frames are where the stacks are located,
not the web
layer. The web layer rides on top of everything.

Dont want exclusive lock on Shared Object

Hi,
I have created a shared object, but by default it seems to be having exclusive lock. I want it to work so that it should be possible to add data or delete data from it by anyone anytime without any locking. Please let me know how I can do this. Is there some property I need to set?

Yes I have already created shared area and everything is working fine. I have the following statement
myshmhandle = zsd_zvi2d_area=>attach_for_write( ).
This statment locks the area handle and if another program or another user tries to again execute the statement above it gives and exception. CX_SHM_EXCLUSIVE_LOCK_ACTIVE. I want it to work in such a way that locking doesnt place at all. Because the way I m adding and removing data, its with a unique key so there is no chance of one instance or user overwriting other persons data

System locks into password cycle

When accessing App Store the selection of an App( free or not) triggers question for password. Despite entering the correct password each time the system locks into a cycle of asking for password but not progressing anything. This problem first occurred when it requested additional questions in support of better security. It no occurs for any App Store action.
Fixes tried
Changed account details including new passwords
System setting reset all
System restore
System reset all
Works fine when I log into IPad using my other Apple/ITunes ID

Problem has gone away after resetting apple ID using a web browser on a PC. The online apple account repeated exercise for security questions online and then again on IPad but this time it all worked as normal.

Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account?

I am unclear what Family Sharing means.
Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account? Or simply that we can all see each other's streams. As it stands now, I understand we can share streams, without having family sharing enabled. Basically, I want to know if we can be logged into separate icloud accounts yet share photo and document storage as we currently can with dropbox.
I want to share photo storage and file backup with my wife. Currently, we both use her apple id to make store purchases and have our own icloud accounts. This solves some problems, but I still have old itunes purchases(grant you fairly old at this point) that I cannot access when I am logged into her id.
I realize we could both use our own icloud account and upgrade storage individually, but this fails the economy test. We have roughly 60 gb of family photo storage, so we would both need 200 gb plans.
we both have ipads and iphones. i simply want us each to be able to take photos and have them automatically saved to one storage solution.

The only way you can see the contents of an iCloud backup is to restore it to an iOS device. You could restore it to your new phone -- but that would mean you would first have to erase your new phone so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing of value on the new phone. In theory you could backup the new phone, erase it, restore from the old and see what is there and copy the photos to a computer and then erase it again and restore it back from the new phone backup. The logo is saying connect it to your computer with iTunes installed on the computer. I assume when yo do this that the iPod is not seen in iTunes. to make iTunes appear try:
- Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Need Help Streaming Video From Web Server Built Into Application - Linksys WRT54g Router

Very much appreciate any help getting streaming video feed from web server built into video application to work properly using port forwarding on my Linksys WRT54g wireless router.
Here is the situation:
My PC is connected to the internet via a Linksys WRT54g wireless router.
The Windows XP Pro SP2 firewall is enabled, with a firewall exception established for the video camera application.
On the router, forwarding of port 80 is enabled for the LAN IP address of the PC running the video application with an embedded web server, and the web server in the video camera application is also set to use port 80.
I have a free DYNDNS account and also run the DYNDNS updater program on the PC running the video application with embedded web server. According to the DYNDNS web site and the DYNDNS updater program, the IP address assigned to the machine running the video application with embedded web server is set correctly in my dyndns account.
When I open a browser (Explorer or Firefox) on the PC running the video camera application with embedded web server, I am able to connect to the video application's web server by going to the dyndns address linked to the machine running the video application. The video application's web server is set to use the dyndns address. That's the good news. The bad news is that I can't connect to the video application's web server from any machine that connects to the internet that uses a router other than the router used by the PC running the video application. I am only able to connect to the streaming video from the application's web server only on machines that connect to the internet using the same (home) router used by the PC that is running the video application.
Since I am able to connect to the video app's embedded web server successfully on the machine running the video application, it seems that at least something about the current port forwarding settings is correct. For example, if I uncheck 'enable' for forwarding of port 80 on the router settings page, I am no longer able to connect to the video app's web server when I try to do so in a browser running on the machine running the video app. When I re-enable port 80 forwarding on the router, I am again able to connect to the web server of the video application on the machine running the video app. I thought that by enabling forwarding of port 80 on the router and associating that port with the LAN IP of the machine running the video application, it would be possible to connect to the streaming video of the video app's embedded web server from ANY machine connected to the internet, but that is not the case. There must be some other router settings to update/change in order to get the port forwarding working to enable a successful connection to the video web server, but I am stumped. Very grateful for any suggestions as to how to get this working properly.

The firewall log can be configured on the third tab in the window for the firewall settings, where you can turn the firewall on and off completely.
From your tests, though, it does not seem to be the firewall. However, to be sure, it would be good to check the log. It will help to eliminate the firewall as the culprit and you may find it handy in the future, too. ;-) Just don't forget to turn the log off again after you are done because it may cause some performance penalty on your system while on.
From what you write, it seems as if I should give a little networking background on the ip addresses you'll see. Your setup is (or should be) a modem connected to the WAN/Internet port of the WRT. The computer is connected into a LAN port of the WRT.
Your router has two IP addresses (that's what makes it a router): a WAN address and a LAN address. The WAN address is the address assigned by the ISP. It is a normal internet IP address. Everyone is able to send packets to this IP address. The WAN address is the one reported by whatismyipaddress.com, it should be listed in the dyndns record and it is the address that your router shows on the Status page. It's the public IP address of your router. Dyndns maps your dyndns.org name to that IP address.
Your router also has an IP address on the LAN side. You can configure it to be whatever you want. The default is 192.168.1.1 with netmask 255.255.255.0 and it is better to leave it like that or at least inside the network 192.168.*.*. 192.168 is a special, reserved IP address range for private networks. Basically, routers in the internet are not supposed to forward addresses in this range. That makes them suitable for private LANs as the packets never can get anywhere. Most people using Linksys routers have there LAN in 192.168.1.*.
The router acts as gateway, which means it forwards packets from PCs in the LAN to the internet and back. As all your PCs in your LAN share a single WAN IP address, the gateway does address translation (NAT). This works only in one direction: from the inside to the outside. The router remembers when a PC in your LAN sends something out and accepts the responses in and sending them back to the PC. If something comes in from the internet which cannot be associated with a ongoing communication the packet is dropped unless you use port forwarding.
All computers in your LAN either have a static IP address assigned or use DHCP to get it automatically. The router has a DHCP server as well which gives out IP address from 192.168.1.100-149 if not changed. With a router with default settings static IP addresses can be in the range of 192.168.1.2-99 and 150-254.
ipconfig /all reports your IP address in your LAN, i.e. an address 192.168.1.*. The gateway in this output should be 192.168.1.1 which is your router. And packet no in the LAN address range 192.168.1.* is send to the router which forwards the packets into the internet.
An address 192.168.1.* should not appear as internet address in the Status page of the router nor should it appear at dyndns.
Port forwarding is used to operate a server in the LAN. By default, a server in the LAN cannot be reached from the internet. You have to configure port forwarding for this. You configure that traffic bound for a specific port (e.g. TCP port 80 for http) on your WAN IP address is forwarded to the same port on a specific LAN IP address. If your server runs on 192.168.1.50 than traffic to your WAN IP address port 80 is forwarded to 192.168.1.50 port 80. That way your HTTP server can be reached from the internet. As you can only configure a fixed IP address in port forwarding it is recommended that the server uses a static IP address and not DHCP as in the latter case the IP address may change over time...
O.K. so much for networking. I hope that makes things a little clearer and you can verify that your setup is how it is intended to be.
I suggest the following: on the router's security page there is an option to block WAN requests. Remove the check if it is set (meaning: do not block). After you did that change you should be able to ping your WAN address (e.g. ping xxxx.dyndns.org) from the internet. That way we know that it is on the correct address.
Also on the Administration page make sure that remote management is disabled (should be like that per default) or that the management port is NOT 80 but for example 8080. What is your your UPnP settings on the same page?

Applying filter to all states in animation

Hi, im new to fireworks for animating.
I have a bunch of images (about 150) in an animations and i wanted to apply a color fill filter to all states. What is the most effective way to do this?

One way to apply filters to multiple states is by onion skinning. It basically makes all objects clickable at once, regardless of what states they're on.
Click on the small button in the lower left corner of the States panel. Make sure that "No Onion Skinning" is unchecked, and "Multi-State Editing" is checked. Also, if you want to apply the effect to all of your states, check "Show All States" as well.
Now, while you are in the first state of animation, switch to the Select Behind tool (hit 0 to toggle from the regular selection tool). Hold down Shift and repeatedly click on the canvas to select objects from consecutive states. You can check if it works by looking at the radio buttons on the rightmost side of each state in the States panel. With each click, the radio button in the next state gets marked.
When you're done with the selection, set the live filter as you normally would with a single object, and it will automatically apply to all selected objects in all states.
It's still a tedious method when there are a lot of objects involved, like in your case. Not only it's a lot of individual selections, but also rapid clicking will be registered as a double-click, changing the Select Behind tool to one of the marquee tools.
There might be a more efficient way, but it requires some experience with blend modes. The steps are the following:
Make a new layer, right-click it and select "Share Layer to States". Make sure that this layer is the topmost layer in the stack.
Draw a rectangle with solid fill, no stroke. Make sure it that it spans the entire animated area.
With the rectangle selected, play around with the Blend modes (in the upper left corner of the Layers panel), until you get the color effect you're looking for. The color change will affect the entire animation, just as if you applied a color fill to all objects. The final look will depend on the rectangle's initial color, the blend mode, and the colors of the underlying objects.

Converting Web Dynpro project into a Web Dynpro DC

I have a Web Dynpro project created.
Now I want to convert it into a Web Dynpro DC (Development Component).
Could anyone tell me if there is a standard procedure to do this?
Right now, I am following the below procedure:
Copy all the folders under root folder->src-> packages of Web Dynpro project into root folder->src-> packages of Web Dynpro DC.
Rebuild the DC.
But in this procedure I am getting errors (in view code) as the required interfaces (example, IPrivate<<component-name>>.java) are not getting generated when I re-build the DC.
Could anyone help me with this issue?

Hi Aditya,
I have used two way for this and both worked fine for me.
1. While creating DC project at the end there eill be a check box, which when you tick will show your local dynpro project and you can then import that.
2. Create DC project after that copy the component of your local dynpro project and paste it on the option where you can create the component of DC project.
After pasting click next - next so that everything remain in sync.
After that check if you have any compilation error, check them if they are because of some jar files.. you have to add the library files by using the option -> DC Metadata ->DC Definition ->Used DC.
If you got no compliation error, then just rename the component ( again click next) and then deploy.
otherwise you may get deployment error.
