Web Layout - Problems Running

Question

I get a REP-0069 Internal Error and REP-50003 Bad parameter: settings/temp/docroot error when I try to run the report in Web Layout. Any ideas?

That's because there is no such thing as a "WYSIWYG layout
tool for web
design". It ain't in the nature of the beast. At a bare
minimum, you
have too many kinds of user agent (generally browsers)
viewing your
page in too many different ways in too many different media.

Here's the nickel tour:
Fireworks[1]: images/graphics
Dreamweaver[2]: HTML, CSS
[1] Or Photoshop, TheGimp, or your choice of image editing
app. FW
comes bundled with DW in many packages, and is a firstrate
choice for
web graphics.
[2] Or your favorite choice of text editor. I do a certain
amount of
editing of web files using WinVI (
http://winvi.de/) because, among
other things, it supports regex search/replace. For CSS, I
use
TopStyle Lite (
http://bradsoft.com/)
Slightly longer comment:
Learn HTML and CSS. Forget about DW or FW or any other 'web
development' application for a bit. Pick up a basic book on
HTML
authoring, and hand-code some pages. My personal favorite is
Elizabeth Castro, "HTML, XHTML, and CSS, Sixth Edition:
Visual
QuickStart Guide" from Peachpit Press. Available on Amazon
for around
US$20. It may seem a bit difficult at first, but you'll save
yourself
a lot of grief and anguish if you understand the underlying
technology.
