Web module generator security conflicts with DAD

Hi,
using the WSGSEC package for web module security, I'm running into issues related to the mod_plsql configuration. There are 3 values for setting session state behaviour (PlsqlSessionStateManagement) following to the dads.README:
1. StatelessWithResetPackageState (is default)
2. StatelessWithFastResetPackageState
3. StatelessWithPreservePackageState
1. and 2. work well when switching security off (preference SECVAL=N), but prevent successful logon (cookie cannot be stored or read correctly) and logon screen returns ever and ever.
3. allows logon but brings the "erratic behavior" mentioned in the README, mainly after DML operations.
How can I manage the session state for the generated application? Logon needs a preserved state, the generated application needs cleaning and resetting. Now, we are developing on Windows 2003 Server but production will run on HPUX.

  • Web module generator

    Hi,
    Web modules have no built-in security functionality as you know and therefore a massive security hole. Is there a trick to add a password fence which works on every single module, so that no startup URL can bypass. I'm sure there is a solution around. HTML-DB has a built-in layer for authentication. I don't need user autentication but one simple (hidden) password input.

  • Web module generator: conditional formatting

    Hi,
    I'm trying to generate the following behaviour in a web module. There is a status code in the table and I want it to be colored red when status = 'error' and green when status = 'running' else standard color. The item property "Formatting" can't do this conditionally. Is there a way to do the trick using application logic ? It should be done server side in PL/SQL but there are no item level PL/SQL events. And on module component level I don't know how to formulate the code using WSGFL. Client side JavaScript seems not to be apt, isn't it ?
    any help appreciated
    regards

    The trick to this is to write your own server-side function. I have one called HIGHLIGHT in my LOCALWEB package, which you can get at http://www.smdi.com/employee/JohnF/sourcecode/localweb.zip. This takes three arguments, the condition for whether to apply the highlighting, the field or text to be highlighted, and an optional parameter to specify the highlight - a color or text style like bold or italic. The default is to conditionally put <strong> tags around the text.
    You will need to add the package name to the list in the PKGLST preference. Look this up in the Design Editor's help, if you don't know how this works.

  • Security conflict with Reader-commentable PDFs?

    I am having some trouble understanding what security options I have with PDFs that I make commentable in Reader.
    I create my PDFs by printing to Adobe PDF from Word.  I apply a password, allow printing, and allow commenting.  Then, I open the PDF in Acrobat Pro 8, remove security and select Comments > Enable for Commenting in Adobe Reader (not allowed if I don't first remove security).  This prompts me to save the file under a different name.  This gives me a PDF that is commentable in Reader, but wide open with no security if I send it to someone who has Acrobat Pro.
    If I re-apply a password, then it seems to save ok but if I close and re-open the file, the password doesn't work.  I get an incorrect password error.
    Is commenting in Reader incompatible with Pro security settings?  It seems a bit risky, I can't be absolutely certain where my files end up and whether someone in the organisation will have Pro, not just reader.  I'm not sure whether I've just overlooked something small, or am doing things in the wrong order.  Any suggestions most gratefully accepted.

    After Enable for Commenting in Adobe Reader you can't set password security.

    Have you tried reinstalling InDesign? It sounds like something's wrong with your color profiles.
    That's the only thing I haven´t tried, but I will and post about it.
    I found a workaround though: If I set my desired color settings in InDesign, but don´t save them, then it works; I no longer get the error message if I go to Edit> Color Settings...
    The color settings dialog box says that my Creative Cloud applications are unsynchronized, because I´m not using the .csf file previously synchronized using Bridge, but the settings are exactly the same and I can get around it. Colors actually work as they should.
    So this seems to be a problem with InDesign accessing any saved color settings file. My color profiles aren´t wrong, because all other programs in the Suite use them with no trouble.
    InDesign just wants to have it's own, non saved, color settings. How about that? Guess I got the selfish version .

    Hi Denis,
    Thanks for your good answer on my issue.
    I believe Java cache like memory leakage is one problem but I don't know where to check this and needs to be delete unwanted files(if any) on Microsoft windows 2003 standard edition sp2
    I am trying all possible solutions to make it work in PROD because we are alrready in middle of migration of BCA server from MS 2000 to MS 2003
    Please let me know if you have any other ideas to resolve it

  • Web modules: return hyperlink not generated

    Designer Version 10.1.2.0.2 (shipped with ODS10gR2):
    When generating web modules, the preference "Build return hyperlinks (MODBRL)" doesn't show the expected behaviour. No return hyperlinks are generated at all. I didn't use web module generator with earlier releases, so, I don't know if it was different there.
    regards
    Thomas Dombrowski

    This feature uses a cookie to save the return hyperlinks that are to be displayed on the subsequent screens. Unfortunately, many people disable cookies in their browsers for security reasons. That could be why you aren't seeing the return hyperlinks. The feature does in fact work, but not for everyone, which is why I started hand coding return hyperlinks in the user text instead. It is more work, but more reliable.

  • I get this error with iCal "generates a conflict" when synced with my Yahoo calendar. Help Please

    I updated to Maverick "Mistake" and have been getting this error since "generates a conflict" with the new iCal and my Yahoo calanders. There werent any problems before the update. Any suggestions as to how to fix it ? Does anyone know how to go back to the last version of iCal ?
    Thank you for ANY help

    Given that the calendars are hosted by Yahoo, I would remove the accounts, then re-add them back.
    That shouldn't lose anything, but I don't use Yahoo so I can't say for sure. They use a standard CalDAV server, so all should be ok.

  • Standalone Web Service clients in NetBeans with WSIT security

    I'm having a problem create a secure app with NetBeans, any help would be appreciated, here's what I did:
    Following the WSIT tutorial (http://java.sun.com/webservices/reference/tutorials/wsit/doc/index.html) I was able to create a Web Service with (for example) Username Authentication with Symmetric Key. I select the keystore as being the either the default development settings (I installed V3 certificates previously) or what I imagine are the same as them: keystore from domain1, alias xws-server and a username and password that I've created in the glassfish admin console. All good so far.
    I then create a new web app servlet client, configuring the Web Service client with the corresponding cacerts keystore, alias xws-security-server from domain1 and the correct username and password. Deploy that and bingo, it works.
    Try that again with a standalone Java client configuring the client reference in exactly the same way and using:
            try { // Call Web Service Operation
                uk.ac.ox.sddag.glassfish.server.SecureWSService service = new uk.ac.ox.sddag.glassfish.server.SecureWSService();
                uk.ac.ox.sddag.glassfish.server.SecureWS port = service.getSecureWSPort();
                int x = 1200;
                int y = 36;
                int result = port.add(x, y);
                System.out.println("Result = "+result);
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                System.out.println("Exception:");
                ex.printStackTrace();
            }but this time, it doesn't work:

  • Deploying application with several web modules having the same context root

    Hi,
    I would like to be able to deploy an application in Weblogic 12c having one ejb module and several web modules with the same context root. Even though the web modules have the same context root, each of them is deployed to a different virtual host.
    Weblogic allows deploying the modules this way as long as their targets are different (i.e. each having a distinct virtual host). However this works only when I don't select a target for the .ear:
    Component Type Current Targets
    application.ear Enterprise Application (None specified)
    application.jar EJB AdminServer
    web1.war WEBAPP virtualHost1
    web2.war WEBAPP virtualHost2
    However if I select as target for the .ear to be AdminServer, the deployment doesn't work anymore, complaining that the context roots are in conflict.
    If I remove web2.war from the .ear and deploy the .ear and .jar to AdminServer and web1.war to virtualHost1, the deployment works but the strange thing is that the web application can be accessed also through the AdminServer's main network channel, even though I would expect that it should be accessible only through virtualHost1 network channel. I believe this is the reason why there are context root conflicts when specifying a target for the .ear, because both wars are made accessible to the main network channel.
    The reason why I want to keep the wars inside the same .ear is because I want to make them access the application's local EJBs (since as far as I know it's not possible to access a local EJB outside the application even if they belong to the same VM).
    Is there a way to deploy the web modules only to the virtual hosts without being targeted to the main network channel?

    Hello Aman,
    If you are in E-Commerce version 4.0, then read this
    [ISA_Buildtool document |https://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700001920472003E/ISA_BuildTool_10.pdf]

    If you are in E-Commerce 5.0 or above, then the
    [Extension Guide |http://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700006120622006E/]gives steps to create a copy with its own context root for use in modification.

  • How to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO

    Hi,
    We are attempting to run a web application on SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SP1 which uses Tuscany SDO.  As it now stands We must use Tuscany because the web application will not run with the SAP SDO implementation provided by Netweaver. To ensure that Tuscany is loaded with priority, we have packaged the Tuscany JAR files and their dependencies as a heavy resource, as described here:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60642a88-95fe-2b10-d387-a245d48fc257?overridelayout=true
    The final check showed that Tuscany was correctly deployed as a heavy resource and included the following JAR files:
    common-2.2.3.jar
    ecore-2.2.3.jar
    ecore-change-2.2.3.jar
    ecore-xmi-2.2.3.jar
    tuscany-sdo-impl-1.1.1.jar
    tuscany-sdo-lib-1.1.1.jar
    tuscany-sdo-tools-1.1.1.jar
    xsd-2.2.3.jar
    We also verified that the web application using Tuscany has a hard reference to the Tuscany heavy resource.
    However, when we try to run the web application, the following error is logged:  java.lang.LinkageError: Class commonj/sdo/DataGraph violates loader constraints
    The issue is definitely due to some kind of classloading conflict with the SAP SDO library, as the application runs normally when SAP SDO is manually removed from the classpath. Doing this on a production system is unfortunately not an option, though.
    So the question is: how to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO?

    I took a look at the "printerReady" example.  Looks like I may be able to use the InetPing (...) function to ping through a range of IP addresses looking for a response.
    Any ideas on how to find the MAC address associated with the IP addresses that respond?
    We may have multiple units responding and the MAC address will allow the operator to determing which unit to connect to.
    I'll try the InetPing to see how it works,
    Kirk
