Web proxy URL Filter

Hi
I am currently using regular expressions to filter out undesirable websites on my web proxy server.
I currently use .*://.*\.*mail.*/.* to filter out any url's that contain the word 'mail' to prevent access to the many webmail sites.
however, this is also blocking [http://www.royalmail.com|http://www.royalmail.com] which my users need to access.
i have created a reg ex to deny mail but allow royalmail and successfully tested it on the many reg ex testers available on the web, but when i add it to my proxy server it fails to work.
the reg ex is .*://.*
.*(?<!royal)(mail).*/.* and works fine when tested on [http://regexlib.com/RETester.aspx|http://regexlib.com/RETester.aspx]
does anyone know why this isn't working?
or can anyone help me create one that will work with the software.
Many Thanks in advance
zsl

  • WLC - Redirect Traffic to Web Proxy

    Hi,
We need to create Guest WLAN on WLC 5508 which will be used for internet access only.
    My questions are:
    1. Is it possible to use our external web proxy server to authenticate users?
    2. Can we also forward all traffic to the external web proxy to filter the websites that can be accessed (without configuring it on the browser)?
    3. Can this be achieved using the L3 webauth?
    Our topology:
WLC -- Switch -- ASA Firewall -- Internet -- External Web Proxy
We are using WLC as DHCP server for Guest WLAN with ASA Firewall as the gateway.
Any inputs and ideas are appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    Otiynomed,
I have come across this problem recently as well and ended up using an Internal DHCP server with Option 252 configured which will point Users towards our proxy for authentication. Unfortunately it isn't a perfect setup as the following issues occurred:
If using Option 252, make sure the wpad file has an internal re-direction for the virtual interface of your anchor controller to allow web-auth redirection otherwise devices will try to get to that address externally
Some devices don't support Option 252
You have to set the devices to 'auto proxy discover' whether Windows or Apple
If using devices running less than iOS 6 then embedding authentication in the proxy settings upon initial connection will still end up with users being prompted for HTTPS authentication constantly. HTTP traffic will work fine however.
Android devices don't like Option 252 and most of the applications don't work with authentication via a proxy except browsing
Alternatively, use web-auth but link it to an LDAP server or RADIUS server for authentication and use a transparent proxy. Problem solved

  • How to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part

    Hi,
I want to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part like mentioned below:
    http://server/pages/Default.aspx?Title=Arup&Title=Ratan
But it always return those items whose "Title" value is "Arup". It is not returned any items whose "Title" is "Ratan".
    I have followed the
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/HA102509991033.aspx#1
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks | Arup

Hi DH, sorry for not being clear.
It works when I create the connection from that web part that you want to be connected with the Query String Filter Web part. So let's say you created a web part page. Then you could connect a parameterized Excel Workbook to an Excel Web Access Web Part
(or a Performance Point Dashboard etc.) and you insert it into your page and add
a Query String Filter Web Part . Then you can connect them by editing the Query String Filter Web Part but also by editing the Excel Web Access Web Part. And only when I created from the latter it worked
with multiple values for one parameter. If you have any more questions let me know. See you, Ingo

  • URL Filters Web Proxy (Deny Access)

I would like to know why I'm still able to access yahoo page after I denied this URL Filter I created myself.
Url entry in the filter I created is as follows
    http://www.yahoo.com
When I click OK button, I received an error as follows
    Incorrect Usage:Bad URL filter
URL filter error in C:Netscape/... on line 1
(must have a / somewhere after the :// part)
Then I modified the URL (add 1 more slash) to:
    http:///www.yahoo.com
When I click OK button it indicate Success BUT I still able to access http://www.yahoo.com.

    Hi,
This seems like a bug. Proxy does not allow us to set a filter without a "/" with the URL.
The workaround would be to use a trailing slash (/)
for e.g instead of setting a filter for
    http://www.yahoo.com set the filter for
    http://www.yahoo.com/
Note that the difference in the two filters is a trailing slash.

    Hi,
According to the log, it seems that TMG firewall denied the request and replied with an HTTP 407 response, indicating that proxy authentication was required. This was done because the Forefront TMG firewall did not have any access rules which would allow
the anonymous request. Please check if you have configured related access rules.
When did you recieve this log? Is there anyting wrong? Which authentication method you have used, Kerberos, NTLM or other?
It seems that each time a web proxy client requests a resource through a Forefront TMG firewall that requires NTLM authentication the client is actually denied twice during the transaction before being successfully authenticated and allowed access. When
the Forefront TMG firewall is configured to use Kerberos there is only a single denied request and HTTP 407 response and then contact a domain controller and obtain a Kerberos ticket to present to the TMG firewall to gain access to the resource.
If you configured the TMG clients with a certain proxy name, please make sure you typed the TMG's domain computer name only (not IP address nor alias).
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Migration from iPlanet Web Proxy to ISA 2000

    Hi,
I'm doing a project to migration from iPlanet Web Proxy 3.5 (AIX based) to ISA 2000 (Windows 2000). Anyone have experience can give me some idea to plan this migration?
Which file in AIX iPlanet proxy store all the Filter URLs (Black list) ? And which file store all the users, groups with permissions?
If you can refer me some "How to" documentation, I appreciate your help.
    Vince2008

sriram already answered this pretty well, but as someone having been in the same situation (migrating from 6.0sp6 to 6.1sp8 a few months ago) I thought I'd chime in.
obj.conf is not an issue whatsoever, since this file does not change in any way between the versions. This was a very nice discovery, and made our work a lot easier. :)
magnus.conf is still pretty much the same, and using the migration tool in 6.1 will migrate server.xml and all other files properly, so that is absolutely the easiest way, if you have only a couple of configs. Us, we used it to generate a new template to see all changes, and then updated our internal configuration templates with the new look and generated all files on our own from there.
You will need to modify magnus.conf manually afterward and update the path to the wlproxy though, since you should use proxy61.dll/so rather than proxy36.
There are also quite a lot of entries in magnus.conf that are deprecated in 6.1, but still kept by the migration tool. Doesn't really hurt in any way, but that is my current task - cleanup.
Regarding rollback, that depends on how you migrate. We wanted to use the same ports as well as windows service names (to avoid having to update all scripts), so we had to uninstall 6.0 before installing 6.1. But really, the possibilities you have here are so strictly decided by your network setup, uptime requirements, etc, that it is hard for anyone on the outside to answer.

  • Reverse web proxy and Javascript

    Hi,
We are trying to use Sun Java web proxy server to reverse proxy Siebel Analytics and Marketing. When we log onto the main page, we get the following error (a javascript error I believe).
Error: '_swe._sweapp.S_CAS' is null or not an object
The URL works fine with direct access (not via the Reverse WP). Can anybody shed some light on this? All advice appreciated - we're kinda stuck right now.
    TIA. Tom

Under the "filters" tab, select "Set Content URL rewriting" from the left hand menus.
    Then create a filter .. source = "websrvname", destination="pxysrvname", mimetype="*/*"
Basically, the mimetype of "*/*" should catch all "text/*" instances, and "application/*" instances.
Essentially, the backend hostname gets embedded in some of the javascript for the interface. The filter rewrites the javascript to include the proxyserver name.
BTW : Your proxy server must be listening on the same ports as the back end webserver.

  • QSUF (Query string url filter) and SQL Server reporting services report viewer parameters

    Hi,
    this is my issue:
I have a SQL Server reporting services web part on a page with a report with 1 parameter, lets say it's a client list
Then i have a QSUF that will be used to filter the clients list through the URL
However, once i connect the filter and the report viewer web part, the parameter goes away and is no longer accessible
I'd like to somehow keep the parameter visible, in case there is no parameter sent through the URL, i would like the user to be able to choose a client from the parameter drop down list
I saw that there is a "send empty if no values are passed" option, but i can't seem to get this working properly and i don't know if this option will make the parameter visible again
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the query string url filter web part not worked well with SQL server reproting services web part.
Did you use the Wiki page layout in your environment?
You can change the page to a web part page, then check whether it work.
There is a similar thread for your reference.

  • Multiple sites on CRM-ISA web proxy IIS

    Hello,
We're upgrading to CRM v6 (2007), with Internet Sales / Web Channel B2B in scope. As part of the system landscape, we have a Windows server running IIS acting as a web proxy.
Now, the question is, can we share this web proxy so that it works for multiple sites?
We would like to put the Dev and the QA CRM systems to both use the same web proxy, which would have two sites configured in it.
Has anyone done this before? Success or fail? I could not find any docu from SAP telling whether or not this would work.
Also are there any requirements for the version of the IIS?
    We're currently on Win2k / IIS v5 but are going to Win2003 / IIS v6.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rasmus

    I figured it out:
You need to change which URL the site responds to under the 'Aliases' section.
I haven't seen this anywhere else, so I hope this will help someone along the line...

  • Lync 2013 Edge & Web proxy

    Hi Everyone
I'm having a little trouble getting my head around the setup for Lync external access.
I have setup an ADFS server, Lync 2013 server(works internally), 2012 web proxy server(doing nothing) and an edge server(currently doing nothing).
My understanding is that the Edge and Web proxy server are in "parallel", I.E, they both face the WAN as they perform different tasks.
The problem I have is that I'm unsure how to map everything correctly, I also don't understand how an external Lync client will get it's config. If my domain setup is:
something.domain.internal, and I would like to register a DNS entry externally as something.domain.external. How do I map those correctly via the web proxy and edge server? Sending the request via the firewall is easy enough, however I'm unsure how I'm supposed
to define them on my servers. Is the Lync server supposed to know about the external URL? Or does it not care?

    Hi,
The Edge Servers run the services that allow external access to IM and presence, conferencing, audio/video, and other media services. You can also configure the Edge Server to federate with other Lync Server and other XMPP deployments.
Lync Server uses the reverse proxy to publish a number of features, such as conferencing meetings, conference join locations, the address book, distribution list expansion, downloading meeting content, device updates, Mobility services, and more. Any reverse
proxy that can meet the requirements for publishing the necessary resource locations can be used.
You just need to define the Edge information in topology builder and publish it. Then configure the server as defined in topology and install local configuration store, setup Lync components and assign certificate. Here is a topology that

  • Proxy internet filter won't run in Safari

Im using proxy internet filter (Hedgebuilders). They have been helpful but only Firefox will recognize the proxy and port and the work properly. Im using Verizon wireless Cell for connections. Only glitch otherwise is that their access
manager panel now requires several clicks to get connected. I've put proper
proxy info into network preferences but Safari ignores the settings, I set Automatic, showed the phone as modem, and entered info......no go . I also took their suggestion and tried putting entries into Internal modem slot but
Safari still bypasses it and ignores it. Firefox works fine with it although Firefox
has a panel much smaller than Safari's. I prefer Safari for somethings and it works better with my E-mail and and has more optons. HELP!!!

My problem is temporarily solved by not using my wireless software. It still must be installed/unistalled on a clean install so that phone drivers are installed. I tried using internet connect, picked a similar cdma phone, and was then able to have safari recognize the proxy. This will work in 99% of circumstances excepting trying to use hotmail or another web based service where data transfer while typing will slow to a speed where the phone will then go dormant or disconnect. The real answer though is if there were another mac user out there also using a wireless phone and a proxy server who would know what additional info I need to enter into preferences.....either an ip or local host that needs to be bypassed or whatever to get it to run and recognize the proxy.
Safari.... Amazing that Firefox takes the info and works first time, but doesnt have the full screen of Safari ( IF it does I can't find a way to set it).

  • Web Proxy Server Load Balancing

I deployed Sun Jave Web Proxy Server 4.0 as a Reverse Proxy. I would also like to use it as a load balancer. As per the instructions, I configured the obj.conf file as shown below
    Route fn="set-origin-server" server="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" server="https:yy.yy.yy.yy" sticky-cookie="JSESSIONID" sticky-param="jsessionid" route-hdr="Proxy-jroute" route-cookie="JROUTE" rewrite-host="true" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
But, it is not doing load balancing. It always sends to the first server (xx.xx.xx.xx). I guess that is because I used mapping as follows:
    NameTrans fn="reverse-map" from="https:xx.xx.xx.xx" to="https://server.net" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="http://server" url="https://xx.xx.xx.xx"
    NameTrans fn="map" from="https://server" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1" NameTrans fn="map" from="/" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1"PathCheck fn="url-check"ObjectType fn="block-ip"
    ObjectType fn="cache-enable" cache-auth="1" cache-https="1" query-maxlen="0" min-size="0" Service fn="proxy-retrieve"
I don't understand how routing and mapping work togother. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Motor,
the following is from the Web Proxy Sever Administration guide. Please, check the last paragraph for the explanation. Any how, the problem is simple. I am using the Proxy Server as the Reverse proxy. And at the same time, I would like to use two origin servers (for load balancing) instead of one. How do I make both load balancing and reverse proxy functions work together?
    Thanks
To Create Regular or Reverse Mapping
Access the Server Manager, and click the URLs tab.
    Click the Create Mapping link.
The Create Mapping page is displayed.
In the page that appears, provide the source prefix and source destination for the regular mapping,
    for example,
    Source prefix: http://proxy.site.com
    Source destination: http://http.site.com/
    Click OK.
Return to the page and create the reverse mapping, for example,
    Reverse mapping:
    Source prefix: http://http.site.com/
    Source destination: http://proxy.site.com/
To make the change, click OK.
Once you click the OK button, the proxy server adds one or more additional mappings. To see the mappings, click the lView/Edit Mappings link. Additional mappings would be in the following format:
    from: /
    to: http://http.site.com/
These additional automatic mappings are for users who connect to the reverse proxy as a normal server. The first mapping is to catch users connecting to the reverse proxy as a regular proxy. The / mapping is added only if the user doesn't change the contents of the Map Source Prefix text box provided automatically by the Administration GUI. Depending on the setup, usually the second mapping is the only one required, but the extra mapping does not cause problems in the proxy.

  • Web service URL with multiple parameters

    Hi all,
I'm trying to make use of a web service that takes multiple parameters without the use of a proxy (we're using NW 7/7.1 and  proxies aren't supported -  i.e. i'm getting the same thing as described here: Proxy object to consume web service)
So instead I'm trying to follow a method similar to what is done [here|http://sample-code-abap.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-code-consume-web-service-using.html]
When I put the web service url into a browser and click on the operation it comes up with
    http://portLocation/company/webservice.asmx?op=operation
and comes up with the sample SOAP request and response as normal.
Now with most web services with one parameter, the url translates to something like: http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry?CountryName=australia
    Which works fine.
However, the web service i'm using has 4 parameters and when I try and translate my url to be like this (http://portLocation/Company/WebService.asmx/Operation?parameter1=XX&parameter2=XX&parameter3=XX&parameter4=XX) I get, "The page cannot be displayed"
Can anyone suggest a way that I might be able to get around this or what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
are you sure that your Operation is valid? So for example in your [example|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx] there are just two operations: [GetCitiesByCountry|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry] and [GetWeather|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetWeather]. You are right about passing multiple parameters. You need to put ? after valid URL and then pairs <name>=<value> separated by &. Don't forget that you need to encode <name> and <value> to avoid problems.
    Cheers
