Web Request in Social Services(Public Sector)

Hi ,
Has any one worked on Web request in social services. If any one has any tutorials related to how to create a web page using this technology please let me know.
In SPRO it comes under Public sector->Social Service->Web Request
I have developed web applicatons using CRM Web UI(BSP_WD_CMPWB). How is web request different from Web UI developement.
Thanks
Ansari

The context for each main item is close to what is given below:
Public Sector -->  Industry sector
Social Service --> Like Government Services for the benefit of the society
Web Request  -->  A "simple" service request for use through a web application like ICSS
The Web Request  in this context is NOT technology related. It is a transaction type and a kind of simplified Service Request . Likewise, Social Services  should not be confused with "Web Services" in any sense.
Hope this, in some way, answers your questions or at least help you understand their "real" meaning.

  • Enhancing Web request page in Service Order in web UI

Can please gude me step by step how to enhance this in CRM 7 web UI
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Deepak,
I think you may not be able to get Subject Profile field in Service Order. We had a similar problem in case of Activity Transaction. I guess this may be a bug or maybe you may need to use Categorization Schema for the purpose. Need to do more research in this area.

  • Http 404 error while opening Siebel Public Sector Web Client

    Hello Experts
I recently migrated to siebel web client and tools 8.2.2 from 8.2. However the issue that i have been facing now is that when i open my client i get HTTP 404 Not Found- The Web Page cannot be found.
Things that i have done to configure:
    1. Enabled ActiveX settings-Settings as given in http://www.siebeloracle.com/accessing-oracle-siebel-8-1-using-windows-7-ie8-works-on-32-bit-os/
    2. EnableFQDN: FALSE, FQDN: Commented.
    3. My ODBC and public sector cfg have been configured as per need.
Strangely what i have encountered is that: sometimes of 1 out 30 trials, when my client opens up [P(opening client)->0 i.e. Probability is close to 0] the port number is 8081 whereas in other instances it is 8080 which i guess is by default.
    URL: http://localhost:8080/start.swe
I have tried reinstalling the client but still i face the same issue.
Kindly help me out with this issue.
    Regards
    KT

    Hi,
I see that its not a problem with the installation but some problem with the port 8080. I feel some other application is running by default on that port. So, everytime whenever I have to launch Siebel Web client, I have to launch 2 instances. (8080 and 8081). So, the instance which launches on port 8081 + works fine.
I see this process to be time consuming as I have to wait for 2 instances to open up. Hence, is there any way to define the default launch of the port when the client opens up?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Doubt over Service Request and Web Request in CRM 7.0

    Hi Experts,
We are in blueprint phase of our project, we need some guidance on the CRM Service module in 7.0. I read a blog that says that service request in crm 7.0 is much improved and it is prefered over service ticket for future releases.
Can someone please throw some light on what is the difference between a web request (in spro, under web channel-> e service), and a service request. And how do we decide, which one to implement and an example if it can be provided.
It will be of great help to us.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Government Purchases
Formulation of Public Sector Accounting and Budget
    Social Services
    Social Security

    - Solutions - SAP Business Suite
    - Software SAP Customer Relationship Management
    - Software ERP SAP
    - SAP Product Lifecycle Management
    - SAP Supply Chain Management
    - SAP Supplier Relationship Management
If we select SAP ERP Software. From the above processes. ¿Is it correct to have at least the formulation of Public Sector Accounting and implemented budget? or ¿Is it OK to implement all processes for the public sector? I'm  very confusing ...
Please,  could you explain SAP Procurement public sector solutions? or do you have a link on this advice?

    Scott Mitchell

    Hi Scott,
There's not enough information there to troubleshoot the problem. Try looking in the forum for similar problem postings (there have been a few, IIRC). First thing to try would be issuing the same number of requests in a batch program, to isolate the behavior
to "code is running in SQLCLR". That would also help you isolate memory leaks, if any. Also:
Need version of SQL Server (version, service pack, and cumulative updates, is it 32 or 64 bit version). It matters.
Define "stops working". Does it produce an error message or appear to hang or something else? Does it bring down the appdomain (there's messages for that in SQL Server log). And does "redeploy" mean just DROP/CREATE assembly? Or bounce
    SQL Server, or something else?
And since it's a web service you're calling... if you trace to network traffic, is the message actually sent? Is the message received at the service? Does the service return a response? And does the SQL function process the response? Is it "your"
service or an "outside" service (perhaps there's a limit on number of requests or number of requests in a certain time period. Is it exactly 12000 requests or about 12000, and how many requests per minute? Isolate where in the intersystem communication
    it fails.
It could be a memory shortage or fragmentation problem. SQLCLR memory handling differs in SQL Server 2012 vs. other releases and also differs in 32 vs. 64 bit SQL Server. You can look at memory consumed by SQLCLR (sys.dm_os_memory_objects where
type like '%CLR%'). You can look at perfmon counter(s) for SQL Server or .NET perfmon counters for the SQL Server process to track CLR garbage collections (which does work differently in SQLCLR). You can look at sys.dm_os_wait_stats if it's hanging. And in
SQL Server log for SQL Server errors.  SQLCLR can fragment memory in older versions so that there's not a big enough fragment left to allocate. If it's pre-2012 read up on "mem-to-leave or mem-to-reserve" (two different terms for the same
    thing).
    Hope this helps, Bob

  • Web Requests in BRFplus

    Hi there,
Quick question, is it possible to evaluate data from CRM via web requests in BRFplus?  Something I see the 'old' BRF doing but I haven't found any documents yet stating that BRFplus can do this.
    Thanks,
    L

    Hi "L"
in CRM there is Loyalty Management and Territory Management that use BRFplus with NW 701. They have developed their own UI in CRM.
In Public Sector there is the Benefit Decision Making Process and the Entitlement Calculation that is currently developing migration from BRF to BRFplus. This will come with some content, I think.

  • Error when opening workspace, web analysis and shared services

    Hi All,
We installed hyperion 11.1.2, Essbase on a AIX server, with reports etc on a windows 2008 server. when logging onto workspace, web analysis and shared services i get the following error message:
    Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
If we re-start the server it sometimes work, but in the morining we have the same issue, can anyone help.
    Thanks
    Dylan

    Hi,
Restart the services. Issue with Oracle Http server. If you restart foundation and other services I can bring workspace up.

  • Jobs for EEO-4&5 Report in public sector...

    Hi Gurus!
I am working for a public sector PA impl. The client wants EEO 4&5 reports for public sector. We have a standard report for that. But since the report is based on jobs, i wanted to know if the jobs for EEO are the same jobs we have in Org management? or they are different and we need to create new ones for the report exclusively in PA?
    Help urgent...
    Thanks in Advance..
    Soniya Singh

I have the same task, I've been requested to retrieve the data hehind the report. The main query is nearly 1000 lines long with I'd say two dozen parameters ( both internal and external)
Its been a nightmare trying to get the main query. I even used TOAD to revtrieve the SQL as the report is being run, but unfortunately you have to replace all the parameters your self.
Its a monster.. So directing the output to Excel via XML Publisher works ? Does it give you the data in the raw format?

  • Funds Management(4.6C) migration to EA-Public Sector 2.0

    I suggest the following:
Read Note 481938 - System Landscape Optimization Services
    and
    http://service.sap.com/slo
There is a group @ SAP named "System Landscape Optimization", who does those kind of things:
o Delete, merge, split or rename company codes, controlling areas etc.
o Harmonize customizing and master data like chart of accounts or vendors
o Reorganize System Landscape (merge systems, move business areas)
Since you environment is pretty complex, I suggest opening an OSS call on XX-SER-CS, describe just what you wrote here and you will get contacted.
I would NOT do such a merge on my own without involvement of SAP and the corresponding people who know the underlying data model.

  • Interface to SAP Financials for Public Sector

    Hi Team
We have a request for interface of SAP CTE to SAP Financials for "Public Sector". Could you let us know if you have completed any such implementation and the additional integration effort needed, if any.
    Regards
    Sunder

    Hi Sunder,
I am not aware of any such project. Technically this might be possible, but I would expect that a public sector company has additional requirements compared to others, like concurrent employment, funds management integration, etc. Without knowing the details I would assume a lot of potential issues in such a project.
    Best regards, Reinhard

  • SAP Procurement for Public Sector package

    Hi All,
does anyone have any useful info on what is actually included in the SAP Procurement for Public Sector package?
I've read the solution brief which is really general and doens't actually give any details.
What I'm after is to know which components of SRM are actually included in this licensing package?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I'm part of the IBU for Public Sector, specializing in the SAP PPS Package.
    HIGH-LEVEL PACKAGE CONTENTS (a.k.a. BOM):
    - SAP SRM (current GA release based on 5.0; Q4 08 planned release is based on 7.0)
    - SAP Document Builder (current GA release v 2.0; Q4 08 planned release has v 3.0)
    - SAP NW Records Management/Case Management (rights to use for any procurement scenarios - HR, FI, other uses require additional licenses)
    - Enhancements to these components and SAP ERP 2005 that are known in the technical component list as Government Procurement 1.0 (in the current GA release) or Government Procurement 7.0 (in the Q4 08 release).
    COMPONENT EXPLANATIONS:
    - When we say "SAP SRM", generally we mean "the combined package of engines that were formerly sold as single components", including Strategic Sourcing, Bidding Engine, Auctions, MDM Catalog (only - not all MDM is included), etc.  Legally, I cannot say "all SRM components" because the list may be changed periodically, but I cannot think of a particular exception either.
    - SAP Document Builder is currently not sold separately.
    - SAP NetWeaver Records and Case Management are not the ones used in CRM - these are the standard delivered apps for Records and Case Management with SAP, used to accomplish several PPS scenarios.
    CLARIFICATIONS:
NOTE1: product PPS should NOT be referred to as "SAP Government Procurement", which is a retired product name. The term "Government Procurement" today only refers to the technical set of enhancements, and is an internal convention within SAP, so you won't see it referred to normally.
NOTE2: eSourcing is not the same as SRM. eSourcing is not part of PPS, and is not part of the license for PPS.  We do not recommend a customer to buy both eSourcing and PPS, since they address different needs and pains. e.g., PPS should be considered when integration with ERP is important.
NOTE3: ERP 6.0 is required for PPS customers, but SRM 'core' does not have that dependency.  It's too long to explain here, but suffice to say you wouldn't expect to be able to run an XBOX game on your 1986 Nintendo console.  We cannot run most new PPS functionality on older ERP releases for much of the same reason: we have been building new functionality as quickly as NetWeaver gave us the tools to do so.  If this stuff were easy it've been done by now - by SAP and our competitors.
However, rest assured ERP PRs (and SOs) can still start the process as well as SRM Shopping Carts and POs are replicated to ERP so follow-on GR/IR can be done in ERP.
Enhancements have been made to ERP 6.0 as well, including in the base release, and in EhP 3 and EhP 4 of ERP 6.0, which will be important with the Q4 08 PPS planned release, to enable signifcant new complex line item and pricing functionality and other features. And again - you can run Classic + Extended Classic using the Ext Classic BADI.
NOTE4: ERP 6.0 is not part of the PPS BOM and no ERP 6.0 rights are included.  Customers must have Business Suite or other ERP user licenses in conjunction.
NOTE5: Customers with SRM licenses today may convert their license to PPS. This is done on a case-by-case basis, so SRM customers in Public Sector are not required to migrate or convert - contact your SAP AE for details if you need more information.
For more information, you can contact me at: FirstnamedotlastnameatSAPdotcom.
Rules prohibit me from typing the address into the answer, but I am the Field Services contact for partners in the Americas for this product so it's appropriate in this case to contact me directly.

  • Outbound web request to internally hosted (natted server)

Hi, I've got an issue with hairpining traffic on the ASA, it's a bit different to the usual VPN in/out query, not sure of the best way to approach this:
    [example names/IPs used]
a)Web server hosted in dmz. External DNS resolves www.example.com to 8.8.8.10, ASA NATs 8.8.8.10 (outside) to 192.168.1.10 (DMZ)
b)Outbound web request (from internal network client) 10.0.0.1 is natted to source 8.8.8.9 (outside) - doesn't use a proxy and uses external DNS.
Web browsing to externally hosted sites works fine (as you'd expect), inbound web requests from foreign addresses works fine. When internal client browses to www.example.com, request fails.
I assume this is because the outbound request is Natted to originate from 8.8.8.9 and destined for 8.8.8.10 which is on the same interface on the ASA.
As the client is not using a proxy I cannot manipulate or redirect the request at this level.
What would be the best way to address this issue? Would I create some kind of NAT exception/configuration like :
source=10.0.0.x destination=8.8.8.10 NAT to source=10.0.0.x destination=192.168.1.10? meaning I would have multiple NAT rules (for multiple internally hosted servers) or is there a better way of doing this (given I am working with the outside interface which will include public traffic)?

So inside hosts are trying to access www.example.com using an external DNS.  is the 8.8.8.10 address being fully NATed to the 192.168.1.10 address or is PAT being used (only specific ports being NATed).  the reason I ask is that an option would be to use DNS doctoring but this is not supported when using PAT.  this is done by adding the dns keyword at the end of the NAT statement.
What version ASA are you running?
Another option would be to NAT the 8.8.8.10 to 192.168.1.10 from the inside to the DMZ.  NAT exemption will not work as that just prevents NATing from taking place.  You would need to NAT traffic destined for 8.8.8.10 on the inside interface to the DMZ.
Both options are good options, but if possible I would go with the first option.
