Web Service Delay in JApplet

I am calling web service in Applet,
When i test applet in a local area network it work fine and its web service invoke response time is within 2 second but
When i publish applet on web the response of web service is very slow, its take greater than 25 second.
I publish my web service at Glass fish v2.1 server
Note; no exception throw
any useful suggestion?

Have you tried watching the site using Firefox with the Firebug engaged? It can tell you the response time for specific parts of your webpage. Is this a server farm issue or a programming thing? Where is your hosting located? Decent speed? Are you database intensive on shared server with zillions of our friends using the same server? etc...
Is there a URL you can share?

    I have four managed servers in a cluster and the ip addresses are

    The admin server is on 20.20.40.21
    I start the managed server from command prompt using the commant
    ./startManagedWeblogic {name of the managed server} {admin console url} ie
    i start managed_server_1 from 20.20.40.21 unix box by going to {weblogic installation}\bin

    ./startManagedWeblogic managed_server_1 http://20.20.40.21:17003

    when i deploy the application to the bpmengine it gets properly deployed onto the servers

    but when i try to call these webservices for each managed server seperately
    the response from managed_server_1 and managed_server_2 takes leass tha 2 secs
    but the response from managed_server_3 and managed_server_4 takes about 25 secs
    I am not able to figure out why us taking so long from the managed servers 3 and 4
    the bpmengine ds and directory ds have the cluster as targets (I also tried to point to all the servers in the cluster even that
    didnot work). I feel that there is db connectivity issue from the servers but i am not sure how to check that.

  • Getting error-"Process Access denied" while invoking Process as web service

    Hi,
    I have a very simple Business Process, just to take some input & give some String as output. I published this BP as web service on Oracle BPM - Process Administrator. I got its WSDL also. I can invoke startSession operation. But when I invoke the operation that is exposed by BP as web service, I am getting an error - "Process Access denied".
    Please help to solve the issue, as I need it urgently.

    Hi Ariel,
    Thanks for reply and sorry for delay on updating status. Actually our process server was having a problem, so I could not check the same in last 4 days. Now coming to the point....
    I changed Process web service by changing authentication type as "Usernname token profile". I have not checked "Required HTTP Basic Authentication". As you said, WSDL got changed, it has removed startSession(). But when I invoke my actual operation, I am supposed to send authentication data (user name & password) in header.
    I tried to send correct authentication info in header. But still I am getting an exception.

    I feel header might be going wrong. I have taken header format from web service guide. I am attaching the entire request message taht I am sending, please tell me where I am going wrong...

  • Unable to deserialize HTTP response content - SharePoint Designer Call Web Service Workflow Activity

    I am creating a workflow using SharePoint Designer 2013 and I'm using the call HTTP web service action.
    The web service call works (it is for a text messaging service, and I get the text message to my phone) however the workflow stops at this point with internal status "suspended" and gives the error message below when clicking on the "i"
    icon.
    I have tried setting the Accept and Content-Type request headers to "application/json; odata=verbose" (minus the quote marks) as other posts suggested but this doesn't make a difference (e.g. here: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/f0b18411-87d1-466b-aab0-1a0093605ed4/workflow-cannot-read-json-after-latest-sp15-patches?forum=sharepointdevelopment).
    I tried adding in the Content-Length header too but that made no difference.
    I tested calling another web service (https://sharepointurl/_api/contextinfo) and this works fine.
    Is there any way to get the workflow to accept this XML as the response? I don't actually really need anything out of the response content, but I do need the workflow to carry on after this step and carry out other activities after this call.

    Sorry for the delayed response here, forget to add it to my watchlist. I didn't catch if you were using Java 1.5 or not. Prior to 1.5 the default maximum heap space was 64MB which with the overhead of the appserver might be your problem.
    Take a look at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/vm/gc-ergonomics.html and the java -Xmx <size> command line option to change the default (I believe the size argument is in bytes, but don't hold me to that). I think you can pass that as a command line option to the startup script, but you should check the doco to see if it needs to be wrapped in some other arg etc.,
    I seem to recall running into this same problem a few years back when I had a servlet doing some intense graphics processing on the fly and setting this option fixed the problem.

  • XML Web Service as data source

    We are researching the option of using a web service as the data source of a Crystal report. There are a couple of points that I would like your input.
    1) How are report parameters passed to the web service?
    2) Are there any known performance issues? I created a simple XML file that had 200,000 rows (3 columns) and there was a delay of 2 min for Crystal displaying all of the report. We have reports of this size, I just wanted to get a feeling of Crystal processing and rendering of the XML file.
    3) Are there any restrictions on the XML schema definition for Crystal?  We are using Crystal 11.5 and 2008.
    I appreciate your input and any ideas.
    Many Thanks,

  • Wcf web service send port retry?

    We are contacting external wcf web services. We don't control these services and they could be returning an exception for a short while (which is "ok"), so we need to retry for a given period of time, without suspending the orchestration/sendport.
    It used to be simple with web services (.asmx) since the send port would handle the retries as soon as an exception was returned from the web services. With wcf services and the soap fault, it is much more cumbersome.
    I know how to do it from an orchestration, but it does add a lot of clutter (have an extra "initialization" construct block so visual studio shuts up about the uninitialized message coming back from the wcf service, define documentspecnames in
    our case, define xpath expressions for the fault and the expected response, have a loop, a delay, more variables/expressions, scope, exception block, etc. etc.) for such a simple requirement. We need to contact a couple of wcf services in an orchestration
    and the handling of the retries makes it quite large and unfriendly (and this is mostly the retry logic for these wcf services).
    So, is there any way to have the send port adapter handle the retries when receiving an exception from a wcf service like it used to be with regular web services?

    Thanks for you answer, yes I understand that the SOAP fault is just another message and that I need to act accordingly in the orchestration. I'm not refuting that, I'm just looking for a better solution than the one I have now (which seems overly complicated
    to me).
    I have to specify the documentspecname because we use the built-in xmlreceive pipeline and the type of the exception that the wcf services return is standardized in our organisation... so there are many copies of the schema of this exception deployed on
    the servers. I need to specify the schema of the exception coming from my wcf reference in my assembly otherwise I get the "I can't find the right schema blabla" exception.
    Of course, if I can stop using the XMLReceive pipeline, I wouldn't have to specify the documentspecname... I'll have to research in detail what this pipeline is doing and see if I can replicate it's functionality, with the addition of the check for the error
    in the returned message.
    I just want to be sure before proceeding... If I raise an exception in a custom pipeline, the send port retry configuration would apply?

  • Passing Substitution Parameters to run_Batch_Job Web Service

    I've been struggling with setting global variables and substitution parameters for my batch job submitted through the Web Service. I have a simple job with a script that refers to one global variable and one substitution parameter.
    Job_param_typeSubstitutionParametersParameter[] parms =
              new Job_param_typeSubstitutionParametersParameter[1];
    parms[0] = new Job_param_typeSubstitutionParametersParameter();
    parms[0].setName("$XXX");
    parms[0].set_value("Test");
    jobParameters.setSubstitutionParameters(parms);
    request.setJobParameters(jobParameters);
    RunBatchJobRequestGlobalVariablesVariable[] globals =
                   new RunBatchJobRequestGlobalVariablesVariable[1];
    globals[0] = new RunBatchJobRequestGlobalVariablesVariable();
    globals[0].setName("$$YYY");
    globals[0].set_value("Test2");
    request.setGlobalVariables(globals);
    When I pass this request to run_Batch_Job, that call times out after about 5 minutes with a socket read timeout. If I don't set the globals or substitution parameters, the call completes, and the job runs fine.
    The script in the job looks like the following:
    print('Global: ' || $XXX);
    print('SubParm: ' || [$$YYY]);
    What might I be doing wrong?

    The only log that has relevant data is errorlog.txt (and it clearly identifies the problem--missing quotes as I indicated in my earlier post).
    (12.1) 02-25-09 12:47:15 (E) (5624:4360) PAR-010102: Syntax error at line <3>: <print('SubParm: '+$$XXX);>: near <$> found <'$'> expecting <'(', &ERROR, __AL_LOOKUPEX_TRAN,

                                                         __AL_TRAN_FUNCTION, +, AL_UNSPECIFIED_PARAM, CONVERT, a float, identifier, an integer, a null, a quoted identifier, a string, a
                                                         decimal, -, SUBVARIABLE, VARIABLE, -, +>.
                                                         1 error(s), 0 warning(s).
                                                         . Please check and fix the syntax and retry the operation.
    So, the real question now is why does the Web Service take 5 minutes then timeout?
    I'd really like to be able to handle the error gracefully (without delay). Why is there no server response?

  • Web service client ignores http proxy settings

    I have a web service client using Weblogic's web service client library. I'm trying to instruct it to use a http proxy. I've set all the following system properties:
    -Dhttp.proxyHost=127.0.0.1
    -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.host=127.0.0.1 -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.port=8080
    No traffic is passing through the proxy.
    When the proxy is down, the application works fine too. I suspect that the proxy settings are completely ignored for some reason.
    I'm using Weblogic 8.1 SP4 on a Windows XP box and JDK 1.4.2 (Sun's bundled JDK with Weblogic).

    Sorry about the delay,
    You just need to use the standard java http proxy properties, take a look at:

  • Stateful web service implementation in Flex 2

    Hello Gurus,
    We are trying to invoke a web service located on a remote
    server using MXML to create a purchase order. One of the
    requirements is that we pass a cookie from our end to this web
    service for authentication and session management purposes. Can
    anyone throw some pointers on passing cookie information to
    webservices from MXML or ActionScript?
    A little bit of research resulted in the following link:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/lcds/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/ wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Parts&file=rpc_26.html
    An extract from the above document states the following:
    "Stateful web services
    Flex uses Java server sessions to maintain the state of web
    service endpoints that use cookies to store session information.
    But unfortunately there are no examples on how to pass the
    cookie information itself. Any pointers are appreciated . Thanks
    much!

    This issue caused me much confusion and delay, so I hope that what I am about to say is correct.  When Flex calls a web service that requires a stateful connection, the web service "cookie" is stored in the browser.  Flash automatically attempts to access this cookie value, and returns it to the web service when additional web service operations are called.  The cookie value will be placed in the "Request Headers".
    A couple issues that gave me fits:
    1.  Safari browser on Mac had default "/preferences/Privacy/Block cookies" set to "From third parties and advertisers".  This was preventing the cookie from being sent.  I had to change this setting to "never".
    2.  I work inside the Flash API.  Testing my movie never passed the cookie value back, and I have not figured out how to do this when compiling for Flash Player.
         - NOTE: I am able to test compiling as an Adobe Air App just fine.  I did this to get my web service calls/parsing of returned info correct first.  Cookie issue and Cross Domain issues are not issues in Adobe Air, so I find this is a good place to get the web service working.  After working compiling as Adobe Air, switch to compile for Flash Player to fine tuning other issues.
    3. Cross Domain issues.  Lots of posts on this.  Pay close attention.
    Thanks!

  • Polling web service problem

    I am trying to create a polling asynch web service.
    But I am having a problem. The method that performs the polling, blocks until the initial request to the web service which started the conversation completes.
    It seems that as long as the web service/controls have an active thread running in it, it blocks all other requests. Is this correct? Can there only be one active thread running in a control or a web service even if it is asynch?
    The design is as follows:
    The Web Service is conversational and has three methods:
    1) startProcess()     -> start
    2) pollForResult()     -> continue
    3) finish()          -> finish
    There are two controls, Step1Control and Step2Control.
    The WebService has a reference to Step1Control.
    The Step1Control has a reference to the Step2Control.
    The following describes the process flow:
    1) WebService.startProcess() calls Step1Control.startProcess().
    2) Step1Control.startProcess() calls Step2Control.startProcess().
    3) Step2Control.startProcess() is buffered so this does not run until step 5 below.
    4) Step1Control.startProcess() completes and the Web Service call completes from step 1.
    5) Step2Control.startProcess() runs asynch. This method loops 20 times, each iteration it sleeps for 1 second.
    As the Step2Control.startProcess() is running aysnch, I am trying to use the pollForResult() method on the web service to check the progress of the Step2Control process. When I make the call, the call blocks until the Step2Control.startProcess() loop completes (step 5 above).
    It works like this.
    When Step2Control.startProcess() completes, it calls back the Step1Control and sets a member variable in the Step1Control to indicate the Step2Control has finished looping and processing.
    The WebService.pollForResult() (which is my polling method on the web service) calls the Step1Control.pollForResult() to get the value of the result returned from the Step2Control process.
    Any idea why polling blocks.
    It seems that only one thread can be working on the web service or control at a time. Even though the process is running asynch after the 1st request that initaited the asynch process, it seems that calls to the web service block until the asynch Step2Control.startProcess() completes.
    Do conversational web services prevent mutliple active threads working on it at the same time?

    I am using Weblogic workshop test browser to test this code. My Ws code looks like this.

    I have discovered that Crystal Reports 2008 doesn't work when called from a Web Service running under 64bit Windows platforms (in my case Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP 64bit); practically no object is instantiated. I've tried several solutions without success.
    Before creating a wrapper component to use under COM+, is there anybody who has a better and cheaper solution than creating another component to wrap CR 2008 ?

    Hi Sergio,
    Before I mark this post as assumed answered I would just like to say and re-iterate that at this time there is no one answer and we fully understand your concerns. As you know in CR 6.0 it came in 16 and 32 bit versions because at the time 32 bit was relatively new but 16 bit was the norm. This is also true for 32 to 64 bit, 32 is the norm and 64 bit is relatively new. We know and are well aware 64 bit is the future and we are working as quickly as we can to move in that direction. Because of the complexity of the Product it's not simply a matter of re-compiling all of our dll's in 64 bit format. The core of our data connectivity with our database drivers which are dependant on third party clients must also need to support 64 bit modes. This as well as Printer drivers also need to be 64 compatable, there are a multitude of dependencies that we rely on that must add 64 bit support. As a programmer you are well aware of the issues around Thunking back and forth between 32 to 64 bits, it can cause delays and potentially loss of data which is a whole other issue. Not to mention also that we would have to ship both versions potentially doubling the size of the distribution packages or doubling the size of the dll's to have the ability to work in both modes. Relatively speaking of course, it would not be double the size but the variables would need to be able to allocate 32 or 64 memory blocks.
    The other option is to produce 2 separate versions, this alone is a massive project. Any issue would need to be fixed in separate code streams.
    So I'm sure you can see it's not simply a matter of saying yes we support 64 bit. It's a massive project that is going to take time to do and we have to wait for the third party drivers to commit also.
    Visual Studio .NET 2005 and 2008 is the only option if you want true 64 bit but you will be limited on what DB's you can support and export formats you can export to. They are the only drivers we did convert to 64 bit.
    Thank you for your understanding

  • External Web Service call from Sandbox Solution in SharePoint 2010

    Can anyone from this forum can tell me how to call an external web service from Sandbox solution?
    It would of great help as got stuck on it for a long time.
    Note:- Cannot use Silverlight and JQuery to call web service from client side.Cannot use full trust proxy.

    Hi Dibyendu,
    Sorry for delay but fact that we can not call webservice in sand box solution(It's does not support).
    The reason behind of this sand box solution support only full trust code.
    One or more assemblies referenced by the XmlSerializer cannot be called
      from partially trusted code.
    When you create a reference to a Web service, Microsoft Visual Studio®.NET creates and places one or more objects in your assembly to store the argument data passed to the method(s) in the Web service. These objects are serialized using the XmlSerializer class
    when you invoke one or more of the methods in the Web service. By default, if your assembly is strongly named and resides in the BIN directory, callers with partial trust cannot access objects within that assembly. When you make the call to the Web service
    method, the XmlSerializerdetects that there are partially trusted callers on the callstack (i.e. your assembly) and prevents the serialization from taking place even though the object resides in the same assembly.

  • Workshop 9.2 - Web Service Test Client - java.util.NoSuchElementException

    I've found an issue with the Web Services Test Client while developing a web service application in the Weblogic Workshop 9.2 tool. The same schema / code in Workshop 8.1 SP4 works okay in its version of the test client.
    The error seems to manifest itself, when I add the "addresses" element to the "locations" element.
    The error displayed in the weblogic service console is

    Hi Paul
    I believe there is some issue with the TestClient.
    Instead to test, can you please try this?
    1) Right click on Payment.java and choose Webservices -> generate wsdl
    2) Right click on the wsdl and choose Webservices -> Test with WebServices Explorer.
    3) Click on setVendor method
    4) Enter the request parameters
    Sample one:
    <ns:Vendor xmlns="http://www.openuri.org/" xmlns:ns="http://suncorp.com.au/services/payment/schema/0">
    <vendorId xmlns="">Vendor Id</vendorId>
    <name xmlns="">My correlation Id</name>
    <persistence xmlns="">false</persistence>
    <country xmlns="">USA</country>
    <status xmlns="">ACTIVE</status>
    <vendorClass xmlns="">VendorClass</vendorClass>
    </ns:Vendor>
    5) Hit the button 'Go'. The entire soap response will be displayed in the bottom.
    I have tested this and it works fine.
    Output I got:
    <m:setupVendorResponse xmlns:m="http://suncorp.com.au/services/payment/wsdl/0">
    <RequestId xmlns="http://suncorp.com.au/services/payment/schema/0">
    <correlationId>CorrelationId-My correlation Id</correlationId>
    </RequestId>
    </m:setupVendorResponse>
    Thanks,
    Vimala

    Hi,
    First create wallet. Place files to server folder and then configure your Apex instance.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21678/adm_mg_service_set.htm#sthref264
    Then you should be able consume HTTPS web services
