Web Service Model for ABAP Web Service

Hi,
I have developed ABAP web service and called it using web service model in WD. The WS is working from WSNavigator. While calling it from WD, im getting the following exception:
Service call exception; nested exception is:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (502) Proxy Error ( No data record is available ).
Is some setting required in R/3 where WS is created or on WAS where the WDAppl is deployed?
Regards,
Smruti

Hi Smruti,
Please try the following:
Go to Web Service model
Logical Port
Uncheck "Use HTTP Proxy" settings..
Also make sure the WAS has entry of R/3 in hosts files..

Abhijeet

  • Create adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project

    I have been trying to create a new new adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project.I am using the URL of the wsdl file to create the model. I have copied the url link of the wsdl from the overview tab of the web services navigator. The web service works fine when tested through the Netweaver Navigator. This web service has also been used successfully through the Visual Composer. But when I try to create a model for this web service URL, when I click the Next button after entering the URL in the model creation wizard  step 4 , I get "Error loading wsdl file. Check error log for details" Given below is the exception recorded in the error log: (Infact, I get this for all wsdl URLs)

    Version: 7.0.09
    Build id: 200608262203
    I was able to successfully import the model after I did the following
    1. Re intsall Studion (same version , same build)
    2. Reset the proxy settings to not use Proxy server
    Thanks for looking into it though...

    I would like to create a Web Dynpro Adaptive Service Model based on BW Service.

  • One Search service application for multiple web applications in a single server

      We are planning to host 17 Web applications in a single Server. Do I need to create search service application for each web application or I need to create one  Search service application , create a Content source for each web
    application and create a Result source for filtering. Which is the best approach. And which approach takes more RAM memory.
       In my application I am using Search web part, "Recently Changed Items", "Popular Items" web parts. when I created only one one  Search Service application for all web applications and using Result sources ,
    I am not getting the results. What could be the problem.

    Hi,
    One SSA is ok, but you should think about access rights. If the access is clear cut between all the web apps you should be ok with one SSA. Multiple result sources limiting on content source also works, but could easily be bypassed.
    Multiple SSA's will eat up RAM/CPU like a mother :)
    As for popular etc.. it could be due to how those sources are set up, but haven't investigated or tested this much.
    Thanks,
    Mikael

  • X.509 Web Service Authentication for ABAP AS Web Service Interaction

    We are trying to use X.509 web service authentication with SAP Web AS ABAP between 2 different SAP installations. Company 1 is trying to consume a web service set up by Company 2.
    Company 1 has installed Company 2's public key, generated the client proxy using Company 2's WSDL and created a corresponding lpconfig entry.
    Then company 2 has set up the profile parameter ICM/HTTPS/verify_client to accept certificates and imported Company 1's SLL client certificate and mapped the user in USREXTID.  Note that Company 1 uses self-signed certificates, so it does not have a root certificate, which is what the documentation says should be imported into the PSE instead of the SSL client certificate.
    When Company 1 tries the web service call, it receives a request to authenticate the web service from Company 2. (basic authentication logon screen, even though the web service configuration is set to X.509 Client Certificate.
    Should this work or is there a problem because Company 1 uses self-signed certificates or is there something else we are missing?

    I think that the problem is in Service Authentication (in transaction sicf). You have to consume web-service, transmitting user-password for access.

  • Incorporating web service in an ABAP web dynpro view

    Hi,
    I am trying to call an external web service to have its results displayed in an ABAP web dynpro view. I've seen various threads that are dealing with the same issue, but none of them seemed to have helped me (I am quite new at this so maybe I'm just having a slow beginning, please bear with me)
    I'm interested in extracting information from a simple web service online. To this end, I went on www.xmethods.net and found a "quote of the day" service, which is practical because it doesn't even need input.
    I am writing down all the steps I've taken, even if they seem trivial, because maybe my problem is the result of a silly mistake I'm not yet capable of noticing...
    I am mostly following the instruction from here:

    The SAP I use is the one on the SC7 system, seems to be ECC 6.0
    After I created my package, I go on to create a Proxy Object, and when prompted for a WSDL source, I give the URL destination I got from xmethods.net: <a href="http://www.swanandmokashi.com/HomePage/WebServices/QuoteOfTheDay.asmx?WSDL">http://www.swanandmokashi.com/HomePage/WebServices/QuoteOfTheDay.asmx?WSDL</a>
    Doing this I get an HTTP error (return code 400, message "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED") (others have had this problem, e.g. Calling Web Services from ABAP, but the answers offered haven't been much help to me)
    and having no idea what to change or not change in SICF and other settings, I decided to save the file locally, and so I then created a Proxy Object by choosing the WSDL source as the local file I saved.
    Telling me that multiple port types exist (SOAP, httpGet and httpPost) I picked SOAP. I can then see the properties of my Client Proxy Object, its structure with the classes and methods etc.
    Then, following Thomas Jung's procedure, I went to create a logial port which I named QUOTE_PORT. When I do the F8 test he suggests to do, I get an error: SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED") which was predictable since I still haven't resolved that same problem above.
    I then proceed to create a Web Dynpro Component. In that component, in the component controller's context, I created a simple node into which I added attributes which I created using the wizard -> Attributes from components of structure, and there I picked the structures that had just been created in my proxy object, each in its own node
    I have three proxy structures generated: GET_QUOTE_SOAP_IN, GET_QUOTE_SOAP_OUT and QUOTES. This last one has two attributes which are STRINGs, the quote of the day and its author.
    I then create a rather trivial view, whose context I have mapped to the component controller's context so as to have access to those "quote" and "author" attributes I just mentioned. The layout is simplistic at best, containing only two textviews, each one bound to its respective attribute.
    Once the application has been done and tested, the output is a blank page. I'm hoping that this is only because of that ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED error. Has anyone else had these problems when calling external web services? Is this the right procedure for displaying output?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Micol

    Hi, sorry for the long reply time.
    from work I do have proxy settings:
        automatic configuration script: http://proxy:8083
        proxy server for LAN: proxy / 8080
    from home it's a proxy free connection.
    In both cases I tried changing the settings in the SICF transaction, but it hasn't changed much.
    With the HTTP error that I get, I get a long text on how to maybe solve it,
    <b>No connection to Integration Builder (only generic data visible)
    Message no. SPRX081</b>
    In this long text, I have four tests to do in order to check the connection (as far as I can understand)
    1. The address of the Integration Builder must be stored in the SAP system
    =>Check/maintain with report SPROX_CHECK_IFR_ADDRESS
    2. The HTTP connection of the ERP application server must function correctly
    =>Check with report SPROX_CHECK_HTTP_COMMUNICATION
    3. The Integration Builder server must be running correctly
    =>Check with report SPROX_CHECK_IFR_RESPONSE
    4. Proxy generation must interpret the data of the Integration Builder correctly
    ==>Check with report SPROX_CHECK_IFR_CONNECTION
    The checks for 1&2 work okay, but I get errors for checks 3&4
    "Integration Builder data not understood"
    How can I go on from here?
    Thx

  • Using Web Dynpro authentication for a Web Service call

    Hi all,
    I want to develop a Web Dynpro that calls a Web Service running on the same Web AS (7.0). The Web Dynpro will be integrated in a Portal. The web service that has to be called is automatically generated when we create a guided procedure :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/44c59fd7c72e84e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
    In my Web Dynpro, I imported the WSDL of this WS and created a model.
    The first time I tried to call the WS in my Web Dynpro I got an authentication error :
    Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://<myHostName>:50100/GPRuntimeFacadeWS/GPProcessExposing?style=document&pid=CA544E9B629A11DB91480017A48D672A&pver=0.5"
    So I hard-coded an HTTP authentication :
         model._setUser("myWASuser");
         model._setPassword("myPassword");
    And the Web Service call now works.
    Now the next step is that the WS call is made by the user that runs the Web Dynpro. So I found this documentation :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/59/e8e95d1eba48dfa86ae91ad8816f5d/frameset.htm
    It would resolve my authentication problem, AND the transport issue : at the moment the Web Service URL is stored in the Logical Port of the WD model, and at transport time, a rebuild of the WD project will be needed.
    So I applied what is said in the doc : from the point of view of the Web Service consumer, I just had to add :
        model._setHTTPDestinationName("STARTGP");
    (where STARTGP is the name of the destination I created in the Visual Administrator with a "Logon Ticket" authentication.)
    before the execute(), and I removed my hardcoded authentication.
    Unfortunately, nothing changes... I still get a 401 authentication error.
    Does anyone have an idea about this ? Or maybe a workaround ?
    Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
    Regards,
    Julien

    Hello Julien,
    I have a scenario similar to yours. A client webdynpro application accessing a EJB methods exposed as web service. Those EJB's methods calls R3 RFC's. The client requirements' was to allow SSO through all the layers (Webdynpro -> EJB WS -> RFC). The Webdynpro and EJB's are deployed on the same WAS.
    Solution:
    1 - Create a RFC Destination on Visual Administration provide the R3 connection parameters and set the Authentication for "Current User (Logon Ticket)". Save your Destination;
    2 - In your EJB Project open your Web Service Configuration, on the Security page, set:
        Authentication Mechanism: HTTP Authentication
        Basic (username/password)
        Use SAP Logon Ticket
    3 - In your EJB, implement the following code to create JCO Client for the RFC invocations:
    Object obj = ctx.lookup(DestinationService.JNDI_KEY);
        DestinationService dstService = (DestinationService) obj;
        RFCDestination dst = (RFCDestination) dstService.getDestination("RFC", "<YOUR_RFC_DESTINATION_NAME>");
        Properties jcoProperties = dst.getJCoProperties();
        JCO.Client jcoClient = JCO.createClient(jcoProperties);
    4 - In your EAR Project, open your "application-j2ee-engine.xml" and add the References:
         "tc/sec/destinations/service" as Service
         "tc/sec/destinations/interface" as Interface.
    5 - Create your EAR File and Deploy;
    6 - Check if the web service now requires Authentication: go to http://<host>:<port>/index.html and click on Web Services Navigator. Test your Web Service. Your Web Service should requiere you to log in before execute the test;
    7 - Go back to your Visual Administrator and create a HTTP Destination. Provide your WS URL (should be something like "http://<host>:<port>/<WS_NAME>/Config1?style=document"). Choose Authentication: Logon Ticket. Save your Destination;
    8 - Go to your webdynpro project, import your WS Model. (If you have already created it, you have to delete it and import it again, refer to this blog on how to reimport WS Models: /people/bertram.ganz/blog/2005/10/10/how-to-reimport-web-service-models-in-web-dynpro-for-java  How To Reimport Web Service Models in Web Dynpro for Java );
    9 - Open your model's Logical Ports node, go to the Security tab, and choose "Use SAP Logon Ticket";
    10 - In your webdynpro code, before you call the ws invocation (should be something like that: <YOUR_NODE_DEFINITION>.modelObject().execute();), include the following line:
    <YOUR_NODE_DEFINITION>.modelObject()._setHTTPDestinationName("<YOUR_HTTP_DESTINATION_NAME>");
    11 - Save All Metadata and deploy your Webdynpro App. Test your results.
    I hope it helps you, as the documentation on how to implement this scenario is scattered through the SDN and all the SAP help portal.
    Best regards,
    Paulo.

  • Enable Web Service access for a Web service-enabled client

    Hi,
    I want to access data in Oracle CRM On Demand from a Web services-enabled client. The "Oracle Web Services On Demand Guide" suggest the Web Services Access should be granted by Customer Care representative. By default, this access is enabled for the Administrator role for new companies. However my admin account can't access web services from a web enable client.
    Can anyone please suggest me the setting/step that i need to enable Oracle On Demand Web service access from a Web services-enabled client?
    Note: I am new to oracle on demand so my query can be a silly thing.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ravish

    I was able to resolve this issue. Actually, i was trying with trial account that don't allow the OCOD web service integration.

  • Web-service client for legacy web service

    I currently access a legacy server (Lotus Domino 7) via CORBA. I thought a web service (my second) would be faster, but a whole day's research has uncovered only obsolete or trivial examples.
    The WSDL generated by the server is rpc/encoded so wsimport cannot generate the necessary "artifacts" for a web service client.
    The web service is simple: it accepts two java.lang.Strings, and returns a java.lang.String of XML. The "dynamic proxy" approach from 1.4.2 seems to have disappeared; I was hoping that approach would let me just hand-code a single "artifact" - an SEI based on the method information in the WSDL.
    1) What classes in JAX-WS will let my web service client communicate with rpc?
    2) With such a simple signature, do I need any other "artifacts" beyond an SEI?
    Thanks for any help!

    In case anyone's search leads them here, I've posted the solution at:
    *[http://www.pby.com/general.nsf/webarticles/dominowebservice01]*
    It is an exhaustive article (not "Hello World"!) that goes through several versions of the web service and client - hopefully explaining all* pieces of the puzzle:
    ~ web service code,
    ~ WSDLs
    ~ schema
    ~ thoroughly-documented clients that do and do not use JAXB
    ~ ... that use generated artifacts
    ~ ... that customize existing POJOs
    ~ the SOAP messages generated in each direction
    ~ the necessary JAXB annotations
    ~ explanations of how the code works
    ~ explanations of how namespaces affect the code
    ~ on and on and on...
    My constant goal was to write an uncomplicated solution that uses as few artifacts (two) and annotations as possible. The end result is a small, fast JAX-WS 2.0 client that uses JAXB to invoke and consume a secured Domino 7 (1.4.2 JVM + AXIS) web service, using RPC/literal SOAP messages.

  • Web Service documentation for all Web Services

    Hi,
    In March there was a documentation released named "Shop Floor web service field guide".
    Unfortunately this only documents a few of the available Web-Services.
    I would like to know where I can find:
    1) Documentation for other web-services that were part of previous DataExchange XML.
        Like BomProcessingInBinding, ItemProcessingInBinding.
    2) Updated document for "Shop Floor web service field guide" since I only have the first version. Or information
         if there has been no updating. Can't seem to find this document when searching in SAP Support Portal.

  • Org model for sales and service

    Hi,
    I have an issue while creating org model, I want to maintain  organization for sales and service differently under a org unit, but in service org element when I have selected service radio button and type also as service in Function tab, it is effecting for all units, even the first org unit is also changing automatically to service.
    Please clarify!
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Abdul

    Hi Abdul,
    I tried replicating what you have mentioned in your message and it is behaving exactly the same as in your case. So I dont think it will have any impact on your root org unit.
    Dont tick mark any of the options i.e sales organization,Sales office or sales group for your root unit.Just create one org unit and leave as it is by saving.
    When creating sales Org: Double click the the root org unit and click on "Create". Create the required sales organization(by selecting the sales scenario(radio button) and tick mark the sales organization in the funtion tab page.
    Now you have created your sales organization.
    When creating service organization: again double click the root org unit and click on "Create". Create the required service organization by selecting the service scenario(radio button) and tick mark the service organization.
    Now you have created your service organization.
    So when you select your org unit created as sales organization and switch to service scenario(radio button) and select the root org you will see the root unit also in service scenario and also you will not see any tick mark for sales/service/marketingin the root org unit.
    Reward points if helpful.

  • "Add To Browser Favorites" for ABAP Web Dynpro

    Hi All,
    In the Portal Environment, the end user has an option to "Add To Browser Favorites".  This will trigger the "Add a Favorite" window in the Internet Explorer and the user can save the favorite as needed.  Do we have a similar cabapility in ABAP Web Dynpro if the Web Dynpro is not delivered through an SAP Portal?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    No.  There is no similiar option in the Web Dynpro framework, nor can you access JavaScript in order to interact with the web browser and supply this feature. Browser Favorites can be maintained by the NetWeaver Portal Framework or in the NetWeaver Business Client by the surrounding frame. In the case of the NWBC, it isn't actually browser favorites but a separate set of favorites merged with Easy Access Menu favorites.

  • OWSM user name token service policy for a proxy service at OSB

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing an issue while trying for the OWSM user name token service policy Authentication for a proxy service at OSB. I am using the PS4 SOA suite with AIA foundation pack. very first I am login into the EM console and choose the domain<soaosb_domain> form web logic domain I moved to security->security provide configuration. Inside the security provide configuration we have to key store section and I expand that and we have a configure button inside the keys tore. I click that button and it open a new page. In that page I got the Java key store (JKS) as the default key store and in the access Attributes I keep the default key store path and fill password and confirm password fields. Then in Identity certificates I fill the signature key and Encryption key with key Alias as 'orakey' and same password which I am mentioned at access Attributes. I got the message like the key store is created successfully. Then I restarted the server and again I am login into the EM console and choose the domain<soaosb_domain> form web logic domain I moved to security. In security I choose the credentials. In credentials we have create key. In the create key I add the key as hari-key and provide the hari as a user and his password.
    While trying to test the proxy service i am getting the [OSB Security - OWSM: 387253] Failed to initialize OWSM Credential Manager. Please validate the Key store Configuration.
    can anyone please look at this and suggest me how can I proceed for this.
    Thanks
    Hari

    anyone please respond to the above request.
    Thanks
