Web Service - XI - RFC

Hi,
I have a Web Service <-> XI <-> RFC scenery.
I've already done the Design, but a I have some questions about configuration...
What do I have to configure to make R/3 understand that it has been started?
Tks,
Daniela

Hi,
In configuration  you need to have Sender Agreement,Receiver Determination,Interface Determination and Receiver Agreement. Receiever Determination and Reciever Agreement will make R/3 understand it has been started.
Just go thru following blog to get more info

  • Web Service from RFC function module

    Hi all,
I'm searching for a way to create web services from RFC-enabled function modules. I know there is a wizard, but it's not suitable for my problem:
I have around 30 function modules (number raising in near future) I want to enable for web services, most of them share the same structures representing the underlying data model. When one structure is modified (i.e. a new sub-structure is added) I have to recreate all web services, which is quite uncomfortable.
In addition, using the wizard results in one wsdl-file for each web service operation, that leads to an administration overhead using this web services from a java frontend.
So I'm searching for a "bulk creation". I also know the wizard can be used for a function group, but I can't put all my RFC-enabled function module in one function group, that would lead to confusion in the package.
Does anyone know how web services are created programmaticaly? If I had a function module which creates the web services I could write a function module which creates all web services I need.
    Thank you in anticipation!
    Florian

I'm not sure I understand the 're-create' part...how are you re-creating the web service?  if you modify the interface of a function-based web service, then you use the 'modify operations' functionality (context menu - right-click) to regenerate the web service interface; this works for a function group based web service as well and hits all of the methods at once.  As for the java overhead on function group services, stating the obvious, maybe you just need to lower the number of functions in your groups.  We use .Net-developed applications with multi-function webservices and don't have any overhead issues.

  • Web services enabled RFC for SO creation in SAP  5.0 is not responding

    Dear Members,
Third party application is not able to getting response from SAP R/3 web service enabled RFC.
We have created a RFC for creation of Sales order by passing mandatory values into SAP thorugh third party application from outside SAP. Accessing RFC in SAP through Web service is not sending response properly. However Sales Order is getting created in the SAP system perfactly, in return to third party application to out side SAP through web service throughing an Exception.
As standalone RFC in SAP, which is creating Sales order perfactly.
Here we have deleted web service of RFC many times and recreated also, still the problem is not get resolved.
Web services is got configured perfactly in the SAP, because other RFCs are working fine.
Please someone suggest how to resolve this issue in case of Sales Order creation through web service enabled.
    Sudheer

    Hi ARC,
Here the issue is that, Sales Order is getting created but while sending the Order num. to Webpage through web service then rasing below Exception.
    Runtime Error UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
    Except. CX_SOAP_CORE
    Date and Time 07.05.2008 20:13:24
    ShrtText
An exception that could not be caught occurred.
    What happened?
The exception 'CX_SOAP_CORE' was raised but was not caught at any stage in the
    call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations, and since the system could
not react adequately to this error, the current program,
    'CL_SOAP_TRANSPORT_EXTENSN_ROOTCP', had to
    be terminated

  • Difference between Web Services and RFC (both Advantages & Disadvantage)

    Hi All,
will you please explain the difference between  Web Services and RFC (both Advantages & Disadvantage)
    Thanks,
    jyothi.

    Hi,
If you want have a communications between SAP systems within a network, we can go for an RFC.
If you want have communication between SAP systems through a medium like internet, we can probably go for a webservice.
    Please refer the following links:

  • ABAP Proxy, WEB SERVICE and RFC

    Hi
I have to pull the data from XI.
I have the PDFdocument of how to integrate XI with BI.
But i am not clear what is abap proxy and web service.
Could anyone let me know basic of what is abap proxy and webservice.
Is abap proxy and webservice are present in both the systems XI&BI ?
    REgards
    annie

    Hi,
ABAP proxy is a  connection between SAP XI & BI . For all the connections need to chk  in SM59, and SICF .
proxies are a replacemet for adapters whereas webservices(WSDL) are replacements for data typesYou generate proxies from an interface description in WSDL (Web Service Description Language) by using ABAP proxy generation.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/46d6c25d-0b01-0010-06a9-8e8218753c02
The SOAP adapter enables you to exchange SOAP messages between remote clients or Web service servers and the Integration Server. Also you can use the axis framework with SOAP adapter. Check this help:

  • Web Service - XI - RFC problem

    Hello,
I have a scenario in which a web service uses an RFC in our ecc system.
I have created the necessary objects in IR and ID and generated the wsdl using "Define Web Service" in ID.
My problem is with consuming the RFC: I want to use the lookup api, but I don't know what name I should use for that.
How can I tell the name of the service that is exposed through the XI so that I can consume it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tal.

    hi,
    >>>>I have the WSDL - but how do I use it to call the XI?
I don't even know what language or application you use to consume this WSDL
every language or application that allows that has how to guide
which shows step by step how to consume WSDL (so call XI)
    >>>>Do I have to use a DeployableProxy and deploy it to the XI?
you can have your application anywhere you want
why do you want to deploy it on XI ???

  • ABAP Web Services for RFC

    Hello there,
We are trying to provide a web service in our organization to an external vendor to access our CRM Systems to get some information. The business functionality is enclosed in a RFC. Now i need to provide it as a web Service. I would like to know the answers for the following,
    1. How do i create a provide Web Service? (If there is any step by step guide, it will be ideal).
    2. What information does the external vendor need to access my web Services?
    3. What is the general security constraints we need to look into?
We are in NW 7.0 with CRM 5.2.
    Thanks in advance............

  • Web Service VS RFC

I have a .net application that needs to call a function module in SAP. Should I make the function module a web service or simply leave it as RFC. What is the difference? What is the advantage of making it a web service.

I would suggest to go with Web Service.
When you create a Web Service, system would give you the WSDL file which is a Web Service definition. In .net, You can consume the web service by this WSDL file. In future, if you need to change semantics of the field in your webservice, you generate the WSDL again and try to consume in your .net application. This WSDL would contain all your data semantics and structures. If you do it via RFC, than you need to let the .net application know about all your field semantics and structures. This would required more efforts when there are two separate teams working on the SAP and .net application.
Additionally, in the webservice, you can also set the security.

  • Are all RFCs and BAPIs automatically exposed as web services?

    Hello,
Our product helps business users exchange data with SAP. We use standard RFCs and BAPIs to communicate with SAP. This is a .NET application although my question is not specific to .NET.
It seems SAP obsolete their .NET connector in near future. The emphasis is on web services. This is a great move. We can simply drop using the .NET connector and start using the web services. However, I have a few doubts:
    1. RFCs and BAPIs are automatically exposed for remoting. When the customer installs our application, it just works out of the box. Customers do not have to make any configuration changes to SAP to expose RFCs and BAPIs.
In the new world, are all RFCs and BAPIs automatically exposed as web services or one has to go through each RFC/BAPI and expose it explicitly?
    2. Is there a comprehensive WSDL schema available anywhere for all the RFCs/BAPIs?
    3. Are there any other web services (besides RFCs/BAPIs) that SAP Netweaver exposes? Where can I get more information?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Darryl,
Thank you for your help or at least trying to help me. However, you left me with more questions than answers:-(.
    1. "Old" does not mean "bad."  Each RFC/BAPI serves a specific function. If some RFC is being obsoleted, there must be a replacement documented somewhere. Is there one?
    2. I can look into SE80 (and other transactions) to see what is exposed. However, what I need to understand is what is SAP's stance on exposing standard web services.
Can others please share your thoughts?

    Pradeep

  • Calling a Web Service from another Web Service

    Hello,
I have the following scenario: Web Service -> XI -> RFC.
I have created the XI -> RFC configurations in the XI and exposed them as a Web Service. I tested the generated WSDL with WebDynpro for Java and it works well (I also uploaded the WSDL to the XI server and tested it from the wsnavigator).
I have created a Web Service from a Java class, deployed it on the XI server (the same XI server as the one with the RFC scenario), tested it and it works well.
Now I want to call the service I exposed from the XI from inside my Web Service.
How can I do that? Are there any code samples for that? I searched and couldn't find any.

create a standalone proxy for your WSDL of the web service deployed on XI java stack and use its API library in the caller Web service...
    find the details here...

Please find below the steps to create and test web services.
Please follow up these steps and you would not get any error in testing web services.
    Hope this would help you.
    1. Go to SICF and activate this webservice: u201C/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/QUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D
    2. Go to transaction WSCONFIG andenter service destination u201CQUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D and enter variant u201Cquery_view_datau201D and hit
enter. Currently, there are no released services so create a new service.
    3. Choose Save to release this web service.
    4. Choose ICF Details -> External Aliases
    5. Choose u201CNewu201D to create a new external alias.
    6. Enter external alias u201C/sap/bw/xml/soap/queryviewu201D and enter description u201CSAP BI Web Service u2013 XML Result Setu201D

    12. Login to your ABAP system from the Web Service Navigator
    13. Choose Test -> GetQueryViewData to test this service.
    14. Enter and Infoprovider and Query and send the request to test this web service. Note: If the query has mandatory variables, those must be passed in the parameter. For the sake of this test, use a query without variables.
    15. Ensure the request and response are successful.
    16. If you have issues, make sure you activate your Web Service and Interface in SE80.
    17. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for filter values using WEB API commands. We are passingtheFILTER_IOBJNM=0D_CHANNEL and FILTER_VALUE=3.
    18. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for variable values using WEB API commands. In this case, we are using a selection option variable. We are passing the following parameters:
    VAR_NAME_1=DISTGOP
    VAR_OPERATOR_1=EQ
    VAR_VALUE_LOW_EXT_1=3
    VAR_VALUE_HIGH_EXT_1=5

    Olivier, thank you so much
SOAMANAGER does not exist in my system (sp level 8), so node "/sap/bc/soap/rfc" should be active. Actually, it is active.
I think the problem is related to user rights/profiles.
I have tried to create another WS after assigning role SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN. The same error when trying to activate it, but now, I can see this WS in SE80 (under "Enterprise Services->Service Definition"). It is not active there and if I try to activate it, a success message appears indicating that user "is not authorized to use function netzwerkadministration". I cannot see any new services in SICF...
Probably the new entry in SICF will be created after activating WS in SE80...
Do u know what user profile should I add in order to properly activate the WS in SE80?
    Thank you very much!
    Vicente
