Web Services in Visual Composer

Hi,
I've created several Web Services in the NWA under SOA Management > Destination Template Configuration.
I added the CurrencyConverter WS with no authentication [http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL]
I also added a WS from our ERP system (the URL from SOAMANAGER transaction in R3) with basic HTTP user authentication.
This is giving me the following error in VC when I try to load the services: Could not complete search, Check log for more information.
1) Where do I check this mystical log? If it's the one I can access under tools, I can't retrieve that either due to errors.
2) Without the log, any ideas why I'm not able to call web services?
Regards,
Frederik-Jan

Srinivasan,
Yes, all these settings had previously been checked and so forth. Everything is set up correctly according to whatever guides. SAP hasn't found anything bad with our systems either apparently. However we still get that Internal Server Error 500 each time we try to access the UDDI_DESTINATION ...
Even in Global Settings it's now set to bypass the Proxy at all times when accessing anything on our domain. It still gives the same error ...
New URL for those settings appears to be http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/c1ea61a1194432e10000000a155369/frameset.htm by the way The one you gave is for the old NWA
Kind regards,
Frederik-jan

  • Consuming Web service in Visual Composer

    Hi All,
I  have impoerted a z bapi in caf service .I create a web service out of this and try to consume this in Visual Composer .When i do Test data service by right clicking onthe web service and try to execute the web service i get an error saying that , web service could not be executed.
But if i do the same thing for the standard bapi , i get the results .
Could any one help me out.
As well as for some of the webservice (on exposing core services as web services),i try to execute in the wsnavigator ,i get error sayin that ,internal operation not mapped with the external service ,even though i have done the mapping in the caf.

    divya,
You have to map your web service to the rfc in your destination systems
    goto http://servername:50000/caf
Choose your Web Service from the External Services list,
on the right side choose your remote function calls and select the service then click map.

I am following the same steps but I am unable to find the system in visual composer after creating it in portal.
I got another document also related to it...
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ceea45f3-0c01-0010-049c-c2b001f590fb
But in this document when I am giving the WSDL URL name its not accepting. It is showing as invalid. So I am unable to proceed forward. Please help soon...

    Hi Nutan,
Try to define the web service system directly in the portal. Through VC you can encounter problems.

  • Cannot see created Web Service in Visual Composer Search

I am following the example of chapter 2 of the book"SAP Netweaver Composition Environment". I am trying to search for a web service that has been created, but I cannot find it.
I created a logical destination for the service, named EDMProjectDestination, using nwa->Configuration Management->Infrastructure->Destinations. This was OK, but when I try to search for it in the Visual Composer environment, it does not appear on the list after a refresh or even a system reboot.
Also, when I go back to the Web Services navigator, and try to search by Logical Destination, I am told that there are no logical destinations configured.
Can somebody please inform me what mey be missing here?
    BR,
    Tony.

    Hi,
    That did it, thanks!
This is a completely different location to that specified in the book.

  • Parameters from abap web dynpro to visual composer

    Hello ,
Can we pass output parameters from abap web dynpro to visual composer?
    <i><u>For Example:</u></i>
ID NUMBER that we got in the application (Abap web...)
and we want to pass it to import parameter of visual composer (start-point)
I know about the mapping(in GP) but how we can see the output parameter of the abap web dynpro in GP-callable object(output parameters).
When we use GP (callable object), we have input/output parameters.
I need to map from abap web dynpro <b>(output)</b> to visual composer <b>(input)</b>
    Thank You,
    Boaz.

    Hi Boaz,
Unfortunately it's one of the GP restrictions that it's not possible to transport parameter values from an ABAP web dynpro UI into the GP context. Vice versa is feasible, i.e. you can use an ABAP web dynpro UI and fill it with parameter values from GP context.

  • Error calling web service from Viusal Composer

    Hello:
I'm accessing entity services methods published as web services from a composite application from Visual Composer. I'm using version 7.0 SR3 SP15.
Iu2019m able to access create and read methods from entities services. But from same getAll() methods  Iu2019m getting access error. When I execute the same getAll() method from u201CWeb Service Navigatoru201D it works ok. But from Visual Composer itu2019s not working.  That happens only for same entities for others itu2019s working ok.
From VC Iu2019m able to select the WDSL and use I in the iViews. The other methods of the iView works ok except for the getAll.
I have already set the options of VC to not keep a cache of web services definition and review and recreate the system in portal landsacape and teh related alias to access the web services. I have laso checked te user and password in the mapping.
Thabk you in advance for your help.
    Regards.

    Hello:
Using the infprmation in the link that you pass me I was able to look into the log files and see what the problem is.
The getAll service as it is geerated by NWDS receive an input paramter:
    queryFilter (test.types.p1.GetAllQueryFilter)
In VC when I drop the getAll method from the corresponding service data into the working area. That input parameters doesn't apper aonly the output parameter.
Then when I execute or test that service. The portal is giving an error:
    Full Message Text
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.additions.soaphttp.exceptions.ProcessException: Cannot find the required parameter [queryFilter] in request message
But that parameters was never recognized by VC.
Thank you in advance for your help again.

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Upgrading Web and Business Databases
Upgrading Web or Business databases to a new service tier/performance level does not take the database offline. The database will continue to work through the upgrade operation. At the time of the actual transition to the new performance level temporary
dropping of the connections to the database can happen for a very small duration (typically measured in seconds). If an application has transient fault handling for connection terminations then it is sufficient to protect against dropped connections at the
    end of the upgrade.
Upgrading a Web or Business database to a new service tier involves the following steps:
Determine service tier based on feature capability
Determine an acceptable performance level based on historical resource usage
Why does existing performance for my Web or Business database map to the higher Premium levels?
Tuning your workload to fit a lower performance level
Upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the database after the upgrade

  • Consuming Web Service In Visual Studio

    Hi there:
I'm using the sneak preview of SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP Server and am able to consume in Visual Studio 2005 (C#) all the 'delivered' Web Services without any problems.  However, when I create a Web Service through SE37 or SE80 (Wizard WS_WZD_START) using a BAPI or Remote enabled RFC (ie RFC_READ_TABLE) I am getting a error when I try to call it in Visual Studio.  In Visual Studio, I am able to add the reference (http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZRFC_READ_TABLE?WSDL) no problem.  When I call it though, I get {"Unable to connect to the remote server"}, with inner exception {"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"}.
I am providing the credentials (username and password) in the code which are the same as when I go to retrieve the reference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Russ

    Hi Russ,
I had similar problems. You should download the WSDL file to the local file system. Then you can add the downloaded WSDL file as a Web reference rather than using a URL.
    Please note the following issue:
You have to provide the full qualified path <b>including</b> the file name in the text box for the URL and then press Go.
    For example:
    <i>
    C:\Documents and Settings\USERID\My Documents\downloads\SAP\WebServices
    Z_BAPI_CUSTOMER_FIND_VI.wsdl
    </i>
If you just provide the path and try to select the WSDL file this probably does not work. At least it was not working for me.
    Best regards,
    Andre

  • Fault messages in target web service (microsoft visual studio) -experience?

    Hi guys!
We use async scenario : SAP_R3 (ABAP Proxy) -> XI -> Web Service (SOAP). Target web service is created in microsoft visual studio. Standard scenario worx fine. We send data from r3, the web service processes them. However, we want to use also fault messages in case, there will be exception rised in the target web service and let operator in sxmb monitor know, that there's a problem. These fault messages should be used as acknowledgement. But we have serious problem with implementing fault messages in the target web service in the visual studio. Does someone have experience with this?
    Thanx a lot for info!

  • Consuming a standard web service in process composer

    Hi,
I want to consume a web service for ex: create purchase requisition available on es workplace from process composer. I have tried to use logical destination created from nwa->SOA Management -> Destination Template Management and provided the WSDL and ABAP system details including the login credentials for user authentication. But this is not working. Can someone help me out with this?
    Thanks,
    Pooja

    1) create a new service interface in process composer by importing the WSDL (Remote location/File System).
    2) create destination template at NWA -> SOA Management -> Technical Configuration -> Destination Template Management. Assign the destination type (WSDL), name, URL, host, system, username, password etc
    3) create an automated task, assign the created destination/service interface accordingly.
Optionally, for step 1), you may import your web service to the service registry via the WSDL URL and create the new service interface by importing it via service registry. Then, in the step 2, use the destination type (Service Registry).
    Hope it helps.
