Web Services validation before provisioning request completes...

Hi All,
We are working on Web Services validation before provisioning request completes to see if there are duplicated in target database. Is this possible?
We want to check in target database for value if exists prior to provisioning the request and fail the provisioning process if the value is duplicate.
For Eg:
Input with ApplnID:5221 while provisioning and check in target database if ApplnID:5221 exists and then to continue provision.
This is similar to what we are executing in our development environment.
Can you please suggest any idea if you have worked on this earlier
Thanks,
Subbu

xmllint is correct. Here's what the 1.1.3 XSD says (I put in the leading periods to fool the discussion board into preserving structure ):
. <xsd:element name="ITunesUDocument">
. . <xsd:complexType>
. . . <xsd:sequence>
. . . . <xsd:element ref="Version" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"/>
. . . . <xsd:element ref="AddCourse" minOccurs="0"/>
. . . </xsd:sequence>
. . </xsd:complexType>
. </xsd:element>
If "minOccurs" or "maxOccurs" aren't specified in sequence elements, then they both default to "1". So the "minOccurs" and "maxOccurs" specifiers are redundant in the "Version" element specification…they'd be "1" anyway. Setting "minOccurs" to "0" means that you can omit the element in XML…but unless "maxOccurs" is set, than the most any element can appear in the sequence is once to be valid. "unbounded" can be used in "maxOccurs" to set no limit on the number of times it can appear in the sequence.
Recall that XML doesn't necessarily have to validate to "work". An XML validation is a contract between us and Apple…Apple promises that we can put at least one "AddCourse" in an "ITunesUDocument" and that is going to work, or our money back. But if we don't submit valid XML, it might still work…but there is no promise there either. It might work today, it might fail tomorrow. The iTunes U people have said, in various venues, that we should expect Apple to validate our XML…but nobody's perfect. It could be that Apple just missed this one…but we should still write code under the assumption that the XSD is being correctly applied and that our XML is being validated on Apple's end. That way, our code can never be "wrong".

  • Web Service posting via SOAP.request - Security settings prevent access...

    I'm trying to call a web service via the SOAP.request object in javascript embedded into my Interactive Form.  I've successfully done this with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 trial version however now I'm having this issue on a production setup.  The PDF generates fine and I can fill out the form and everything.  I checked the properties of both PDF documents (one that works from the trial and one that doesn't from the prod box) and they are the same, expect the one that works is PDF Version 1.6, and the one that doesn't is PDF Version 1.7.
    Here's the client-side error:
    Acrobat EScript Built-in Functions Version 8.0

    Here's the snippet of JavaScript code:

    Here are the security properties of the malfunctioning PDF:

    How do I determine what the culprit is?

    Michael,
    PDF Version 1.6 means Adobe Reader 7.0.x family and PDF version 1.7 means Adobe Reader 8.0.x or 9.0.x if I am not wrong.
    Also if you check LiveCycle Designer Help (Using LiveCycle Designer ES > Working with Data Sources > About data sources > Working with data connections) it clearly says that with LiveCycle Designer 8.0 secured web services are not supported and there are additional security settings for Reader 8.0 onwards, that may be causing the issue.

    Check the security mode, it should be “TransportCredentialOnly” and the clientCredentialType “NTLM” as shown in the blog post
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2009/03/10/calling-sharepoint-lists-web-service-using-wcf.aspx
    The other option is to add the service as
    Web Reference and not as Service Reference.
    In your ‘Add Service Reference’ window, click on ‘Advanced’ and choose ‘Add Web Reference’ – I prefer this for ASMX web services which makes it much easier.

  • Web Service Options - Editing SOAP request Options

    I am trying to invoke a Web Service using Adobe LiveCycle ->
    Foundation -> Web Service.
    In the Web Service Options editor, while giving the SOAP request, I
    would want to be able to manipulate the data I send in the SOAP
    request.
    For example, I have a input Request XML which is in process_data [and
    which is the incoming request from Flex]. I am reading data from that
    XML and setting it to a corresponding tag in the SOAP request. I want
    to be able to have this feature wherein I dont include a tag at all in
    the SOAP request of I see that the corresponding tag in Request XML is
    empty.
    So if there is a  tag in Request [empty tag], I dont
    want to include the ContactName tag at all in the SOAP request.
    Meaning, I dont want to send an empty tag or a tag with NULL value. I
    want to delete that tag altogether in the SOAP request.
    Any ideas how I can go about this?
    Thanks!

    You can try making the whole SOAP Request a varibale of type XML. Then use a setValue before the web service call and built it the way you want.

  • Safe to retry Flex Web Service calls on HTTP request failures?

    I'm using Flex's web services layer to make SOAP calls to a back-end server. Once in a while, those calls fail with a generic RPC fault that looks like this:
    faultString="HTTP request error"
    faultCode="Server.Error.Request"
    faultDetail="Error #2032: Stream Error..."
    When this happens, is it safe to assume that the server didn't get the message and retry an otherwise non-idempotent request?

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Script example trigger web service call and populate request from adobe

    Hello,
    I'm trying to make a adobe interactive form that needs to be populated by a web service. I have one field : In the dataconnection that is the input for the web service request and this is bound to the request. I have a button that is connected to my web service. After filling in a new value and pushing the button I want the web service request to be triggered.
    Thus anyone has a coding example or more information about using web services directly from within a Adobe Interactive form ?
    thnx, Jasper

    Hi Jasper,
    You may refer the Adobe ddevelopment center for the docs related to the execute property of the button to trigger a web service.
    <i>Alternatively, if you do not want to create a button to execute a call to a Web Service, you can do it via Script.
    Assuming your Data Connection is named ‘LeasePayment’
    For JavaScript:
    xfa.connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    For Form Calc:
    $connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    execute(0) indicates no data merging
    execute(1) indicates all the data in the data DOM will be remerged.</i> - Adobe doc.
    hope this will help.
    Thanks andRegards,
    Anto.

  • Processing web service information before displaying

    I facing challenges to display my external web services information properly.
    For example, this web service
    http://www.webservicex.com/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry?CountryName=Singapore
    It returns a string value in JDeveloper
    <NewDataSet>
    <Table>
    <Country>Singapore</Country>
    <City>Singapore / Paya Lebar</City>
    </Table>
    <Table>
    <Country>Singapore</Country>
    <City>Singapore / Changi Airport</City>
    </Table>
    </NewDataSet>
    It displays the whole thing on the screen. There is no way I can change the server side. I can only fix the client side(ADF Mobile) to fit to the server output. I tried creating URL Service Data Control but no success because the schema cannot validate and crashed when deployed. I have to write a part of Java code to process the information. What do I need to do inside task flow? How do I create a flow like this? How do I hide the processing part aside putting inside view?
    User input(View) -> Call webservice -> Process webservice output(Java) -> Proper output(View)
    My JDeveloper version is 11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1
    Sorry I did not see the announcement

  • Using request object in java web service code

    Hi,
    I am working on a java web service and require the request object in my code.
    This is because i want to get the name of the user who is using this web service.
    I am getting error in the line
    IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
    Please guide me how to use the request object.
    Please also suggest if there is any other way to get the name of the user who is using the web service.

    Simple answer: This is not possible due a web service doesn't has such request objects.
    If you want to use the user information you have to pass it from the programm logic you are calling the web service. When you have e.g. a JSPDynPage you can read out the user information and supply this information for your web service.

  • Problems with deep request structure in web service

    I'm having problems when trying to consume an Enterprise Service-like web service in my Web Dynpro application. The web service FindXByElements has a request-structure as follows:
    XByElementsQuery
    -ProcessingConditions
    -QueryHitsMaximumNumberValue
    -QueryHitsUnlimitedIndicator
    -XSelectionByElements
    -ID
    -Year
    Regarding the structures on level two, the structure ProcessingConditions are of the global data type "WITHOUT_LASTRETURNED_QueryProcessingConditions" and are therefore typed. The structure XSelectionByElements on the other hand are just a "level" in the request structure and are therefore not typed. Both structures have occurrence 1 so they have to be filled with input data.
    The code in wdDoInit in the Component Controller looks like this:
    QueryXInModel model = new QueryXInModel();
    wdContext.nodeRequest_FindXByElements().bind(wdContext.createRequest_FindXByElementsElement(new Request_FindXByElements(model)));
    wdContext.currentRequest_FindXByElementsElement().modelObject().setXByElementsQuery(new XByElementsQuery_Sync(model));
    //Processing structure
    wdContext.currentXByElementsQueryElement().modelObject().setProcessingConditions(new WITHOUT_LASTRETURNED_QueryProcessingConditions(model));
    //Selection structure
    wdContext.currentXByElementsQueryElement().modelObject().setXSelectionByElements(new XSelectionByElements(model));
    The last row generates the following exception:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot perform write operation 'setRelatedModelObject' on target role: Class 'XSelectionByElements' is not compatible to class '$002fWsdlDefinitions$002fWsdlTypes$002fXsdSchema$002fXsdComplexType$005b3$005d$002fXsdSequence$002fXsdElement$005b2$005d$002fXsdComplexType' of target role 'XSelectionByElements' in model class 'XByElementsQuery_Sync'
    There seems to be a problem to bind a non-typed structure element to a context node since the processing structure is working fine but the selection structure are not.
    What am I doing wrong, anyone got any clues?
    /Oskar

    Hi
    QueryXInModel model = new QueryXInModel();
    wdContext.nodeRequest_FindXByElements().bind(wdContext.createRequest_FindXByElementsElement(new Request_FindXByElements(model)));

    //Selection structure

    XByElementsQuery
    ProcessingConditions
    QueryHitsMaximumNumberValue
    QueryHitsUnlimitedIndicator
    XSelectionByElements
    ID
    Year
    as
              QueryXInModel model = new QueryXInModel();
               Request_FindXByElement  request = new Requst_FindXByElement();
                ProcessCondition   processCond  = new  ProcessCondition(model);
                QueryHitsMaximumNumberValue  qhMaxNumValues = QueryHitsMaximumNumberValue(model);
          QueryHitsUnlimitedIndicator  qhUnLimind = new QueryHitsUnlimitedIndicator(model);
            XSelectionByElements  selecByEle = new XSelectionByElements(model);
                     processCond.set....();
                     qhMaxNumValues .set...();
               and so on
                    request.set....();
    wdcontext.nodeReqestFindX..bind(request);
      in the above during the values you will automatically get the set values .

  • Using Web Service from LiveCycle PDF Dynamic Form.

    I have developed Staff Attendance Sheet about 7 years ago using Microsoft Office Web Componenets Data Access Pages (OWC DAP).
    See image below of the current report using OWC DAP:
    http://bit.ly/cAfeYs
    Since we are moving our legacy systems to SAP, this report will have to be re-implemented using Adobe LiveCycle PDF which is connecting to Web Service over SAP Systems (since OWC does not connect to Web Service).
    The SAP development team have developed the initial webservice which generates the required data.
    I have developed the initial version of the LiveCycle PDF, which can be downloaded from this link:
    http://bit.ly/9KBgm0
    The following is a screen snapshot of the LC Desinger Form:http://bit.ly/cxMK62
    When the web service is executed from inside PDF the result looks as follows:
    http://bit.ly/cacbCg
    The webservice accepts the following required parameters:
    1. Period: YYYYMM. User Specified Value.
    2. Staff ID: 9999999. It must be supplied automatcially to the web service and it must be the Windows ID of the User Logged In to Windows
    Domain.
    Other parameters are optional.
    Assumptions:
    ==========
    1. I am not using any Adobe Forms Server Technology. I can use LiveCycle Desinger ES2 and LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server.
    2. I can alse develop using .NET to get the Logged In User ID (Windows), generate the XDP from ASPX Page and attach the XML to the XDP.
    3. We are using IE8 with Adobe Reader 9 Plugin (IE add-on) to display LiveCycle PDF inside IE.
    Questions:
    ========
    1. First time the webservice is executed, I will get a prompt to allow/deny execution of the webservice. This is a security issue here, becuase we do not want any user to know the link to the Web Service. How we can hide the link to the webservice and prevent any user from getting the link ?
    2. How I can stop the Prompt to Allow/Deny execution to the Web Service for good ? As you know, users will get confused, and when we launch this PDF, it will generate a lot of calls to the Service Desk (more than 1000 users).
    3. The Web Service uses Simple User Name/Password for authentication to run the webservice. I need to embed the User Name/Password inside
    the PDF, and also prevent any user for getting them, how ?
    4. I want to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Web Service Automatically which is the Logged In User ID (Windows). This is the same value of the "Login Name" which can be accessed using Acrobat JavaScript. But the problem, this script must be trusted, and it will be a long story. Any ideas how to implement this requirement using simple methods ?
    5. If I manage to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Webservice automatically (Logged In User ID), also, I want to prevent the user from sending a different user ID, ie, prevent him from using Import Data to Form to specify a Different User ID for the Webservice Parameter. How ?
    I appreciate your help if you have any ideas about the above.
    Tarek.

    Hi Tarek,
    First of all, Thank for your replying.
    I have developing Adobe LiveCycle xdp form with a button. The SAP Web Service will be called when the button is pressed.
    Before that, I ‘m able to call another ASP.NET web services by using SOAP.request call. However, when I apply the code to call SAP web service, it doesn’t work. I checked that the web service is valid. And I found that there is something wrong when implementing the SOAP.request call. But I have no idea what wrong is it. So, I beg your help
    The following is the code in the click event of the button:
    //mainData.sfMain.Button7[1]::click - (JavaScript, client)
        var webServiceEndPoint = "http://xxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DEDB492BB032E7F1B09F001CC4FBCEC9/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?s ap-client=300";
        var staffIDInput = "9999999";
        var oAuthenticator = {
        Username: "usr",
        Password: "pw"
    app.alert("1");
        var response = SOAP.request({
           bEncoded: false,
           cResponseStyle: SOAPMessageStyle.Message,
           cURL: webServiceEndPoint,
           oRequest: {"urn:Z_RFC_GET_STAFF_BANK_INFO":{A_STAFF_ID: staffIDInput}},
             cAction: "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions",
            oAuthenticate: oAuthenticator
    app.alert("2");

  • Web Service API sample code

    Howdy All,
    I am trying to work through the iTunes U Admin's guide directions on how to upload content using the Web Service API. I have completed everything through step 2, (I believe it is page 48 in the current guide), Request an Upload URL from iTunes U. After I try to POST a file to the URL returned in step 2 the only response I receive back from the server is a 500 error. I am writing my application in C# so using a UNIX curl script to perform the file upload is not possible, and that seems to be the only thing close to sample code that I can find.
    Has anybody else written some .NET code that performs the file upload in step 3 that they would be willing to share? Even Java code that I could port over to C# would be a good start. I can also post some of my own code if there is anybody that feels like taking a look at it.
    Thanks,
    David

    Couple of pointers for you ...
    First is that the documentation (last time I looked) has a bug that will prevent you from using the web services API. Here is a link to the changes you need to make:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=899752&tstart=15
    Next, when I was working through this stuff, I found learned a ton about HTTP I didn't previously know (like how to construct a valid multipart MIME doc). If it would be helpful, your POSTed doc should look pretty close to this:
    Content-Type: multipart/form-data; boundary=0xKhTmLbOuNdArY
    --0xKhTmLbOuNdArY"
    Content-Disposition: form-data; name="file"; filename="myXMLFile.xml"
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ITunesUDocument>
    <ShowTree>
    <KeyGroup>maximal</KeyGroup>
    </ShowTree>
    </ITunesUDocument>
    --0xKhTmLbOuNdArY--
    I would be happy to share my own code, but it might not be what you're after (I used Objective-C and Apple's NSMutableHTTPRequest Cocoa class to do my HTTP POST). I am not a C# guy, but I would bet dollars-to-donuts that C# has some kind of class that serves as a wrapper for an HTTP POST request ... you give it the HTML, it POSTs.

  • Calling a Web Service from OPM ODS

    Greetings,
    Is it possible to call a web service directly from OPM (version 10.4) using Determinations Server or do we need BPM or BPEL to be involved. We are trying to transition to Weblogic 11g Fusion SOA environment using OPA for rules.
    Thanks

    Hi Davin,
    I have managed to deployed the determinations-server.war with the rulebase to WLS. I am also able to create a web service proxy to send request to ODS and get the response returned. However, my doubt now is I do not know how to consume it in BPM. In my BPM process flow, I tried creating a web service call to ODS but it did not work, as in the flow runs and completed with success but there were no response returned from ODS due its complex type which couldn't be mapped directly to the data object type created in BPM.
    I am wondering if there is any samples or tutorials available which will guide me in understanding this topic better. Any help is much appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance!

  • OIM: Request completed status

    Guys,
    OIM 9.1.0.2
    I need to confirm one thing:
    For manual approval process(standard approval process):
    Request should be completed after provisioning process completes.
    1-When it is approved:
    Request Status:Object Approval Complete - When the resource level Approval is complete and 'Approved' the status changes to 'Object Approval Complete'
    2-When it is provisioned:
    Request Status:Request Complete - When the resource is approved and provisioned, the request status changes to 'Request Complete'
    For Pre Approval process:
    Request should be completed before provisioning process completes.
    1- Pre-approval process complete the request. Request Status:Request Complete
    2- For some reason the provisioning could not be completed it is not intervene with the request status.
    Is this true or not? If not, what should be the behavior(request status) of pre-approval process after approval process finish?

    The request status in OIM is not consistent. For the answer in your situation, you need to go through each step and record what your status is to know what the outcome is going to be. You will get different status's if you do more than auto complete and have actual approval tasks involved.

    Hi,
    This forum is dedicated to Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, so it is possible to get an answer here, but it is not very likely.
