Web Site monitoring

Hi
I have a web site that I need to monitor.
The web site is place on an external windows computer and it is not part of the domain.
In order to access the website I need to enter a user name and a password.
I tried to use NTLM and run as account but It failed. I got "cannot  verify  run as account".
When I record the whole processes does it also records the user name and password ?
What kind of authentication should I use  ? Basic,Digest, Negotiate , NTLM or none ?

SCOM Web console use NTLM but verify in IIS that NTLM at above.

And if you put SCOM Web console on stand alone machine, Give it delegation to can authenticate Then Try again

  • Endpoint Monitoring for Web Site down / uncontactable

    Hi,
As per title I want to set up an alert for when our Azure Web site is down / page we nominate is not available
So I set up Monitoring Endpoint and Stopped the Web Site via the portal
Problem is that it redirects to
http://www.azurewebsites.net/SiteUnavailable.htm  and so the Endpoint thinks everything is cool and won't fire an alert
    What am I missing ?
    cheers
    Andy

In "real life", when your endpoint is down, it will respond with Error 500 or a timeout.  Case when you manually shutdown your site to test the feature is not really relevant.  Get a page to generate an error 500 to test correctly.

  • MBAM web site configuration failure

I've set up MBAM 2.5 on my ConfigMgr 2012 server. Its integrated with Configuration Manager and created the two data bases on the same box with Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL 2012 with reporting services. (I've configured a working OSD windows 7 task
sequence that uses MBAM to encrypt and store the recovery key.)
Now I'm trying to install the two web sites on a second windows 2012 server that is also acting as a deployment point with pxe server.
I can connect to my reporting server with a browser from the local server without being prompted for credentials. The MBAM reports are configured and visible. I'm using the same service account for SCCM reporting services and web service application
pool domain account. I've been working this for several days and am running out of ideas.
Next I'm going to set up a new 2012 test server to act as the MBAM web server only. Maybe that will simplify things and I don't have to worry about breaking my Distribution Point. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    I finally found the problem.
I had the reporting services url wrong.
http://sccmserver/Reports (this connects successfully but is wrong.)
The wizard would say the path was wrong so I changed it by drilling further into the report server.
    By selecting the Bitlocker folder.
Then the wizard stopped  showing the red error wrong path but it turns out it was still the wrong path.
A bit misleading. I noticed on my SCCM server in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager under Report manager URL,
http://sccmserver/ReportServer  Typed this in and finished the wizard for the first time.  :)

  • I get this error in my Web Site, after installing MSM files.

Background: I've been struggling for 6 weeks to deploy a Web Site with Crystal Reports to a Test Server. After wading thru pages and pages of documentation, some of which had conflicting information, I finally found someone who was able to confirm that I do need to install MSM (merge modules) in order to get my Web Site to work. So I followed the instructions on the MSM package, and installed them on the server, using the defaults that came up. Additional background can be found in my posts in forumID=313, threadID=1285303.
I published my web site to the virtual directory my LAN people set up for me. I went out to a browser, and put in the URL. It actually came up. This is an improvement from earlier tries. I selected the date from the calendar control, and selected the name of the report I wished to display for that date, and get an error (copied, below). Does this error relate to the Merge Modules or to my application? It's kind of vague.

    Hi Robert,
This may be permission issue. Domain users need access to "C\Windows\Temp directory"and to the report directory.
suspect permissions is the issue here. To find out what is missing, use Process Monitor:
Filter on the process, otherwise the log file will be way too huge, then look for "Access Denied" messages.
Please provide us some more details like:
What CR product you are using and its patch level?
The VS that you have used?
Is it with one or with all reports?
Are the reports saved with data?
    Regards,
    Shweta

  • Edit Color Sync for Exports for Web Sites

    Hi,
Perhaps this has been covered, but I've not found the thread. Most of the export color sync questions seem to revolve around printing or displaying on one's own monitor. Neither is an issue for me. However, I note that my RAW images exported from Aperture 2.0 as jpg's and then uploaded to web sites such as Jalbum and Orkut are washed out. Some forums have suggested this is due to those websites being optimized for sRGB. I understand that Aperture uses a proprietary color sync profile; however, my default EXIF - Expanded shows "Color Model" as simply "RGB", and "Profile Name" is Adobe RGB (1998) (my Canon 50D is set to sRGB). Again, I have seen suggestions on this forum that one can change these settings, but the process appears to be only for printers and monitors. Where/how can I change the export for uploading jpg's to the web.
    Thanks,
    Nick

I understand that Aperture uses a proprietary color sync profile
If the profile were proprietary, it would be an illegal profile under the ICC Specification.
However, I note that my RAW images exported from Aperture 2.0 as jpg's and then uploaded to web sites such as Jalbum and Orkut are washed out.
If you did not disable embedding of an ICC source colour space in Aperture, if you did not use a non-ICC enabled browser, the OS X system level services will set up a ColorWorld and convert the pixels in your JPEGs matching from the ICC source colour space to the ICC destination colour space of your display. Thus you will get what you uploaded in the first place.
I have seen suggestions on this forum that one can change these settings, but the process appears to be only for printers and monitors.
The idea is that each and every colour device is calibrated and that calibration is captured in a colourimetric colour characterisation from which an ICC colour device profile is computed. Colourants that form certain colours one one colour device at one calibration will form other colours in the same colour device at another calibration and in other colour devices at yet other calibrations. By means of device profiles, the COLOURS can be kept constant while the COLOURANTS are recomputed to compel the device to paint the closest possible match it is capable of.
Some forums have suggested this is due to those websites being optimized for sRGB.
The issue is whether people who post pictures do or do not embed ICC source colour spaces into their pictures and whether they pick browsers that are ICC-enabled or pick colour blind browsers.
To determine if there is an embedded ICC source colour space in a picture, download the picture to disk, open iApple Preview and select Tools > Get Info > Summary.
Colour Model: This defines the format or model of the colourants, e.g. three component RGB, four component CMYK.
ColorSync Profile: This defines the ICC source colour space. If there is none in the image file, the system level service assigns the Generic RGB Profile for model RGB, the Generic CMYK Profile for model CMYK and so forth. Therefore, any ICC source colour space than a Generic Profile source colour space is embedded in the image file itself.
In technical terms, the rule is that to construct a ColourWorld that does a colour space conversion through the PCS Profile Connection Space, you have to have an ICC source colour space and an ICC destination colour space (typically your display profile). It follows that the system level service ASSIGNS an ICC source colour space automatically where is none embedded. The ICC source colour space that is assigned when there is none embedded is the Generic RGB Profile for colourant model RGB, as explained.

When I try to go to some various web sites. a window appears saying "Safari is no longer is responding because of a script on the web page".  It will ask me if I want to stop or continue and if I select "Continue", pretty soon it allows me to enter some info but just a word or letter at a time and then the box appears once again.  This is very frustrating.  Does anyone have any idea what is going on?  It is happening more and more.  Do I need to do something with my Safari application?  My Safari application is a 5.0.6 .  This happens for instance when I try to go to Safeway to view their ads or the GE comppany to view appliances and several other sites.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Hi, I think it's mostly our outdated Javascript for 10.5.8 & below, but...
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free Disk space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab of Activity Monitor, are there a lot of Pageouts?

  • USB to VGA? or how view web sites greater than 800x600?

My young children have a couple of hand-me-down iBook G3 clamshells. They're loaded with the newest version of OS X that they can handle (can't remember what that is off the top of my head - 10.3?) They're working great for how they're needed with one exception. Some modern web sites are configured to display a page that is larger than 800x600 AND are configured to disable the browser's scroll bars, so it's impossible to navigate to the parts of the web page that are not visible within the 800x600 resolution native to these laptops.
My first thought was to override the web site and show the scroll bars, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. That may be the best way to approach my problem if anyone can tell me how to do that.
My second approach was to look at USB-to-VGA adapters and attach an external monitor (I have an unused one collecting dust). But every such adapter I've looked at lists various versions of the Windows OS as a requirement. Are there any USB-to-VGA adapters out there that have been tested and proven to be compatible with Macs?

You can try Opera Webbrowser (Minimum OSX 10.3)
    http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=mac
Opera allows to set the global Zoom to 80% which looks like 1024x768
Just an idea for VGA output: You will need a firewire Clamshell which allows you to hook the iBook to a TV with a special cable

Buy a composite-to-vga converter. But i don't know if it will work and the result will be worth the money.

  • How to upload images to your own Web site?

I recently bought a Creative WebCam NX Pro. Installation was fine, the product works great.
The problem is that I want the cam to upload images to my own web site, www.fogwatch.com. This is basically a weather cam, with images uploading regularly.
The problem is that the Creative software creates a new name for the image file every time it uploads a new image -- 0.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg, etc. The problem is that the HTML code on my Web site is programmed to recognize only one file name for the Web cam image -- image.jpg. With my old Logitech cam, the software would overwrite the old image with the new image with the same file name, and every was fine.
So, with the Creative software, I would have to change the file name in my HTML code every time the cam uploaded a new image?and that's impossible. I don't want to use the default Creative web page that it uploads images to as that doesn't fit in my site design.
Is anyone using a Creative camera to upload images to their own Web site? How are you doing it's

    Bcasey,
I spent some time working with Webcam monitor and have found the way to do what you are wanting. You need to set up your FTP settings, arrange for a continuous upload and then go over to the custom web page section. Put a checkmark in "upload custom webpage" and go to the section where it says how many pictures to display. Set this to and then remove the checkmark from "upload custom webpage". The program will now upload a single file called img.jpg updated at the interval you choose.

  • I am getting a Invalid Server Certificate error when I go to secure web sites.

I am getting an Invalid Server Certificate error in Safari when I go to https web sites. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. My time and date are correct on my computer. I have no problem accessing non-https web sites.
Any suggestions on why this is happening are appreciated.

Launch the Activity Monitor application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select “All Processes” from the popup menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Enter "ocspd" (without the quotes) in the "Filter" text field. Does a process with that name appear in the table below?
    If not, see this thread:

  • Why can't I read .pfd files when sent to me in email or web sites?

whenever I get a email or visit a web site I cannot read the attachment or the web site if it is a .pfd document.

I have this problem too with my Western Digital 1TB My Passport for Mac.
Downloaded Card Data Recovery - did not work. The software self terminated itself when the problematic WD is connected. Starts up fine when the WD is not connected by USB.
Then I downloaded Remo Recovery. Starts up fine, scans fine and appears to save the files but ALL the files 'saved' are unreadable.
Finally, downloaded Stellar Phoenix in a last ditch attempt to recover my precious video files. Starts fine, saves fine BUT it cannot save files above 200MB because the WD stops working every 10 minutes. So, did not solve my problem totally because I have so many files above 200MB.
And yes, I PAID for all the software above. And the first two software are reluctant to refund me my money until their development team can ascertain whether it's a software bug, over online web conference. And because of the time differences, I can never get online with them. So, all my money gone.
Until one day I opened Activity Monitor and noticed this 'fsck_hfs' starting up everytime I connected the problematic WD My Passport for Mac.
So, tried to Force Quit 'fsck_hfs' and VOILA!
A dialogue box popped up and says that the Passport for Mac cannot be repaired and that I can move and copy files from it but not save to it.
    PHEW!!
At least I can access the files and save them to my Seagate 1TB although now I am having a problem opening FCP X project files rescued from the WD.

  • "SCRIPT5: Access is denied" error when accessing web sites using LocalStorage

We are having an issue with Internet Explorer 10 affecting users on a number of our Windows 8 workstations. When a user visits a web site that uses the Local Storage feature of HTML5, the page is not displayed correctly. For example, if you visit this page:
    http://jsfiddle.net/xFtQR/
You should see text in the grey boxes in the lower-right hand corner if everything is working. For the affected users, nothing is displayed. In addition, if you open the F12 Developer Tools and reload the page, the following error message is displayed: "SCRIPT5:
Access is denied.". It appears the LocalStorage feature is broken for these users.
From the troubleshooting I've done so far, I've determined that this issue does not affect the Local Administrator account on these computers, but it does affect any domain user and any new local user I create, whether the local user is in the Administrators
group or not. This leads me to believe the issue may be related to the default user profile in the image that was applied to these computers.
    Other observations:
Performing a complete reset of Internet Explorer settings (from Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced) does not resolve the issue
These sites do work correctly after turning off Protected Mode for the Internet Zone (from Tools > Internet Options... > Security)
These sites also work correctly when InPrivate Browsing is turned on
I've tried using Process Monitor to determine whether access is being blocked to a folder. On a working computer, iexplore.exe creates a file within a folder at C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore. I can't see
anything on an affected computer that would prevent IE from creating this folder, as the security settings on the folder all appear to be correct.
The location of this folder appears to be stored in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\LowCache\Extensible Cache\DOMStore. I've tried copying this key from a working computer and blanking
it out entirely to have IE recreate it, but neither resolved the issue. I've even gone as far as to try and compare an export of the registry from the default user profile from a working system and an affected system but I haven't been able to pinpoint any
differences which I thought might be relevant.
I've tried the "Internet Explorer Performance" and "Internet Explorer Safety" troubleshooters in the Control Panel.
Here are some links to articles on other sites which make reference to the same (or a similar) issue:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_7/ie10-script5-access-is-denied/e87bdb30-7f2a-4510-bfa3-a22b995f777b
    http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/357825-ie10-script5-access-is-denied
    https://github.com/meteor/meteor/issues/1291
Unlike these other cases, deleting an affected user's profile does not resolve the issue (further bolstering my theory that the issue is due to an issue in the default profile in my case).
Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide!

With some excellent detective work by Microsoft Product Support (thanks Siddarth!), the solution has been found.
It turns out that in addition to the security settings on a folder, there is an integrity setting. More information about it is
    here.
The integrity setting on the AppData\LocalLow folder in each user's profile is supposed to be set to "Low" (hence the name, presumably). In our case, the integrity level was not set correctly on this folder. To rectify the problem, we will need
to run the following command under each user's profile (with a login script, for example):
    icacls %userprofile%\Appdata\LocalLow /t /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)L
As for how this incorrect setting was propagated in the first place, it is because the LocalLow folder in the C:\Users\Default\Appdata folder in our customized OS image had the wrong setting. The C:\Users\Default folder is the template for a new user profile,
so each new user on these computers was affected. I examined the C:\Users\Default\AppData folder on another machine without a customized user template and found the LocalLow folder is not present at all, so in our environment we will be deleting the C:\Users\Default\AppData\LocalLow
from each machine to prevent the issue from affecting future new users.
EDIT: If the command above does not resolve the issue, the registry key that points to the low integrity DOMStore folder may have been changed. Check the
CachePath registry value at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\LowCache\Extensible Cache\DOMStore. It should be
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore.

  • Web site optimum page size

I have recently been revising my web site and using iWeb 08 for the first time.I am reasonably happy with the results although I am still tinkering with details for uploading later: www.aidesigns.eu
It has taken me some considerable time to try to optimise the page size to enable the site to load onto laptops without having to scroll both vertically and horizontally.
I have seen many site which load at varying screen sizes - ie fit full screen on a 12" notebook or 20" monitor.
Is there any way that can be done using iWeb - it would be great to avoid eye damage when working on the site (making everything so small)?

    Here's a window: [one size, fits all|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/hello_world>
And [here are some samples|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/boxsamples> of scalable windows.
Drag the lower righthand corner of the browserwindow to resize. It does not work with MSIE.
It cannot be done in iWeb.
In iWeb I increase the width of the page to 950 pixels. The page will fit in a still standard 1024 pixel wide screen.
I think your pages are a bit too wide. I have to scroll half an inch horizontally.

  • IE 11 stops working at certain web sites

When I try to open, example, tiger direct, IE11 stops working. There are several other web sites in which it does the same thing. Can this be fixed

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay, even you have reset IE, some setting are stil maintailed in IE, I tried to reset my IE, and found that some add-ons are still enabled in it, thus I suggest you have a try for a test.
    Reset Internet Explorer settings

  • How to de-register pse 10 at adobe web-site

    Hi pse-experts,
how to de-register pse 10 at adobe web-site after I deactivated it on pc ?
    Thanks for your support, Frank

Registration and activation are two separate things, The activation system monitors that you have the software installed on no more that two PC’s. Registration simply notes your purchase of genuine Adobe software.
