Web template selection screen
Hi,
I am facing the following problem:
When executing a report I receive in the selection screen of that report a list of variables. One of these variables is being filled with default values through a customer exit. When executing this report through the bex analyzer that variable is showing all values in oly one box (which is correct). But when executed through a web report, all the default values of that varible are shown in different boxes, having as result a big list of boxes containing one value per box.
This result for the end users is not so friendly, for they need to scroll down the whole list to execute the report or choose other filters.
Basically I will like to know if there is a way to get in the web report all that values in one box, like the BEX analyzer does.
Is there a way to do that?

Hi Jose,
It is the default screen and the display is defaultly provided by SAP. If you want to have many selections in the variable screen, you will get that screen.
As you are saying, it is defaultly selected using customer exit, you can skip that variable screen and get the output directly. If you are using WAD, you will find the property in Template properties.
Go to template web item properties in left hand pane-->Uncheck "Force variable screen Display".

Yes but now my condition is not like this and more than 20 plants are there and i need to create 20 variants.
The key user cannot remember all variant names ,so how to acheive this?
Also in the link that u had given u have given the way to add the variant at the end of the URL. But i hope that will not help me!

BEx web report selection screen entries retain when closing and opening the report again
Hello all,
please help me in the below query.
Till last month the entries we made in BEx web report selection screen are retained in the selection screen even when we close the web report and open it again from portal without logging off. But recently this functionality is missing and the entries in selection screen are not remembered when we close and open the same report again. It is a good feature for the users. Have you come across this issue?No...I think i can reframe the question very clearly......For ex: we are opening a Bex Web report...so initally we would be prompted by the variable selection screen...in which we have to give the entries(Values) for those variables like Cal month, Sales org, Company code, etc.....Later on the report will get open based on the values we have given......
Now if we close the particular report without logging off then if i try to open the same report that selected values are missing.....earlier it used to remember the values we have given until we log off....But now that functionality is missing....It was very useful feature.....Can you please tel me what can be done to resolve this??

Different Web Template selection based on query selection values entered
Dear Experts,
We have a very unique requirement in our BI7 system.
There is a web report which comprises of multiple queries and query views embedded in web templates. There are 2 selection parameters F1 and F2 that appear on executing the report.
Our requirement is to display a unique web template to the user based upon his selections. If user enters values for both the fields F1 and F2 then we want to display report output from query views in web template T1.
If user enters value for only field F1 and keeps F2 value blank, then we want to display report output from query views in web template T2.
The problem we are facing is to decide the appropriate place where this type of condition could be coded. We do not think user exit would do the job here.
Please help if you can.

Let me please clarify my problem further.
Web Template T1 --> Query Views V1, V2, V3.
(All query views V1, V2, V3 have variables on fields F1 and F2).
Web Template T2 --> Same Query Views V1, V2, V3.
(All query views V1, V2, V3 have variables on fields F1 and F2 but this time variables would be having different values than above).
If user enters values for both fields F1 and F2, then we want to display Template T1 with F1 variable = "value by user" and F2 variable = "value by user".
If user enters value for only field F1, then we want to display Template T2 with F1 variable = "value by user" and F2 variable = "all values for which transaction data exist".
Thus, we want to display a unique web template based on whether the value of F2 is entered by user or not.
Please let me know if you need any further clarification.

Hi,
I have 2 currency varaibles in my variable selection screen. Now i want to remove one. I can't find these variables in query deffination.
Can you tell me how should i remove the currency conversion variables from the web template selection screen. where in query defination can I find it.. or i have to do it some other way..

if you just want to remove a variable its simple.
1.Go to the query designer.In the query designer selecting the appropriate info object its attached to it.
2. Right click and select the context menu -> restrict
3. IN the pop up window de select the variable you want to remove.

Need to display TEXT in web selection screen
HI All,
We are working on CRM-BW modeling. We have one field called "product" which will have key and medium text. We need to display both key + text in web reporting selection screen. When we ran first time text was not showing in web report. Then we found and change the configuration in search help in SE11 for that field. Then we can see the text+key combination in RSRT but still we can't see the text in web report selection screen...
Now what we have to do to display text in selection screen on web...
Please give your inputs ASAP.....we are in UAT phase....

For you case: Display key & text in selection screen.
In BW,
You can go to query designer, then you'll go to the info-object belong to the variable (selection-screen : product). Right-click, find for the properties, Then you'll see the option for <b>display as</b>.
Choose it for Key and text.
Then save it.
Go to the report, in the selection screen, when you're choosing for the help, you'll see the value displayed by key & text.

QUERY when run on WEB and RSRT then RRI show selection screen on receiver.

We have two query: Query 1 and Query 2.
Query 1 can be RRI to Query 2.
The variable for fiscal period and Forecast version are both mandatory. The selection for plan version is optional.
When run this on BEx Analyzer, the jump work smoothly without pop-up of selection screen of the receiver query.
However, when run on RSRT and Web, the selection screen is being pop-up and you need to press execute button before the 2nd query will be shown.
The value of the variables is pass correctly.
Fiscal Period on 1st query is being restricted by two variables.. one interval variable on Free characteristics.. and one single variable on restriction of key figure. The single variable is the one exist and passed on the 2nd query.
Hope you can help me.the only thing i can think of on the wbe is a setting for opening windows in tabs or open new window under tools for rsrt not sure, did you try to run it in HTML in rsrt?
it could be setting in SPRO for reporting worse comes to worse open a note with sap. -

If you want to utilise the Broadcaster/Precalculation,then activate a Web template (using which you want to perform this functionality,Go to RSOR Tcode->BI Content->BEx Web Template->Select Objects.(Eg:0ANALYSIS_PATTERN)Here find for any web template and trasnfer to the right side panel,then Install it.) from BI Content.If the Portal is configured properly,then you can use any of the web template,assign the query and broadcast.If you are broadcasting a precalculated query, created in Query Designer, then it would be 0QUERY_TEMPATE_BROADCASTING70.

The broadcast setting is listed in the upper area of the BEx Broadcaster screen. This is where all broadcast settings that were created for this query or Web application are displayed. If you want to edit or delete the broadcast setting, choose Edit or Delete in the context menu of the setting.

Value selection (F4) in Webrport selection screen

We would like to have Key as well as Description (medium and long) when we go for value selection (F4) for InfoOject in webreport selection screen.How to get this?
for example:

02-Pending
While executing Query in Bex, with F4 we are getting Both Key and Text in selection screen.
But in web report selection screen,we are getting only Key.We want to see key as well as Text.

Note 914447 says :
Display as "Key and text" setting in RSDCUBE or RSD1 for an infocube/characteristic will not have effect on the f4 selection in the web variable screen....
F4 dialog from a variable screen always displays text and key only irrespective of the setting for key and text or text and key, since the aim of the dialog is to display both and not concerning the order.
and note 851039 is not relevenat as my infoProvider is not multi Provider.
Note 588704 seems to be relevent but its applicable to release 30B( as its mentioned in note) where as our version is 3.5
can you pl suggest what ashould be done?

In WEB properties I flag 'Display same variables only once'.
I have a WEB report with one table based on a query and with two charts based on query views from the query. Some fields are mandatory in selection screen Month/year.

Query view Purpose: to get fewer key figures to charts - but still by query show all key figures in table.

How to write HTML code in Web Template for selection screen
Hello All,
Is it possible to write a html code in the web template html tag so that the output of the html is displayed in the selection screen, i.e before the execution of query.
I know that we can write html, which will be displayed once the query has been executed, but can it be done for selection screen.
if so, how.
My exact requirement is : to display a 2-3 lines of text in the selection criteria screen - sort of, various options available to user for entering values in the selection screen. I was thinking of putting this text using HTML code in the selection screen.

No, unfortunately nobody replied to this thread. So i assumed it is not possible to modify the selection screen thru html code.
Btw, as my requirement was to provide user with multiple answers on the selection screen. I did the validations on customer exit and popped an errror dialog when applicable.

3.5 Web report. Save Selection screen and navigation state??

When we use BEx Analyzer, using excel, we have these two features:
1. If query have selection screen, we can save variants, as in SAP R/3.
2. If in the query results we perform drilldown, filters, and so on, we can save this as a new workbook.
Now, I am using Web access. I use 0ADHOC web template. I have modified to ask always for variables.
For feature 1, is there any possibility of saving the selection screen? Any property of web template?
For feature 2: I can save a view in the standard template, but there are no button to recover it. Modifying this template is too hard for me. I have seen an object to select query view, but I have to specify queries and views, and I need an open solution.
Is there any template or easy way for offering the user the possibility of saving a navigational state for any query and after recovering any of this states (as a workbook in excel).
I don't know if views are the only option.

Force Variable screen with Web Templates
We are on SP7 and have made the necessary settings based on note 950463, however the variable screen only pops up the first time you click the "New Analysis" button. If you click the button again, and select a query with optional variables, the variable screen does not show up. I've tried setting the default parameters in the IMG and in the portal iview to always pass the parameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X along with making the necessary modifications to our default web template, but none of this has worked. Has anyone else come accross this?

Below is a version of the web analyzer I created with the following changes:
1. Variable screen will always open on subsequent calls to the "New Analysis" button, even for optional variables.
2. A button for refresh. This button basically calls the variable screen. If no variables exist, then this will just refresh, but if variables do exist, this launches the variable screen and then refreshes, similar to the refresh used within the 3.x Bex Analyzer...
3. A button for "Back to Start" which takes you to the inital state of the web application.
4. A button for "Back" which will take you back one navigation state. Hope this code helps!
