hi experts,
i am creating a z-component similar to bt108s_lea for that i created 2 views search and 1 viewset now i am doing data binding in context node for that i created a custom controller name cucosearch1 when i test the component i am getting error like:

Please check if you have created "search" context node in custom controller ZLEADSEARCH2/CuCoSearch1..
Please don't delete anything, just check the node which you are trying to bind is available in the controller class.

Can a web service query a database at set intervals?

Can someone verify if this is feasible?
I need to display live data via browsers . I would like to have the query to the database executed server side and have the web service provide the data to the browsers.
Here is what I propose :
I would like to have a web service run on a web server for an intranet.
Have the web service query a database every 20 seconds and update the data into a table or an array variable.
On the browser side I want the browser to refresh every 20 seconds with the updated data from the web service.
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Using Portal Variables in filter criteria of BEx Web App query string

Our BI 7 instance is connected to a NW2004 portal, where we have created SAP BW Report iViews to access templates created with the Web Application Designer. We would like to use some of the portal variables about the user to create filters for the BEx Web Application Query String.
The query string would have a set of parameters at the end that looks something like:
&FILTER_IOBJNM_1=0PLANT&FILTER_VALUE_1=<plant>
Where <plant> is a value stored in a portal variable.
Is it possible to do this in the SAP BW Report iView or will we have to code our own custom iView to pick up the variable values?

Problem with the icon "Display query on the web" in Query Designer

Hi Friends,
         I was told by my PM to give them all FI Modules standard business contenet reports, so for that reason i have installed all FI business content & loaded the data in the Dev Server, now i just want to show the reports, but i want excute these reports in Internet Explorer using the Icon "Display Query on the WEB" in query designer, when i click on that it isn't getting displayed in the browser.
         the URL coming like this, "http://itcchqbd:8100/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=0FIAA_C11&QUERY=0FIAA_C11_Q0001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1"
getting the message in the page, the page can't be displayed,
          How to solve this problem & how do i have to show the standard business content reports to all FI Superiors ?

Balaji,
first check if you have enabled web reporting on your BW server ( there is a how to paper for the same )
another way to check out the same is to find out if there are existing web templates being published which would make the server web ready.
As for FI content - activate the FI relevant areas in Business content and then activate the respective datasources and then load the data.. or go trough the best practices for BW-FI ( service.sap.com/bestpractices) wnd then activate the best practices for the same.

How do you pass a custom value on a BW iVew (BEx Web App Query String)

Hi,
I am using a <b>BW Report iView</b> to display a report (BEx Web App) on a external facing portal. As part of the BEx Web App Query String, I need to pass the customer number. So, I followed the same procedure as the appIntegrator iView and put in the parameter <Custom.Customer number> as part of BEx Web Application Query String, which is supposed to get replaced dynamically with value from the UME by using the custom 'ParameterProvider' service we had written. But, it's not working here. We are using the same Customer Exits for 'ParameterProvider' on the AppIntegrator and it works there. The BW Report is bit different then the appIntegrator iView and I think I am missing something. Need some help to resolve this please. Thank you.

Hi Indraneel,
When you create a Web template query it asks for a TR right ? So when you delete the query the deletion gets automatically recorded in that TR. Now to check if this is true please follow the following steps.
While creating the Web template query you get a TR right ? After creating the query please delete this TR.
Now your query is not associated with any TR.
Now try deleting the query it will ask for a TR.
Please revert if any issues

SAP BW BEx query - WEBi MDX query

Hi Experts, have we had some discussion on this?
Does MDX query send by WEBi report to BW use the same program to extract data from BW database?
One of the option for WEBi report source of data is to build Universe on top of BEx query. Could you share how this process actually happen.
I think
- WEBi query will pass parameters that is relevant for BEx query filter of the universe
- the BEx query will then extract the data (following normal process if we run BEx query independently)
- if WEBi has further filtering, it will then get the BEx result above and filter it further ..??
So, how is MDX query come into the picture?
Or is it:
- WEBi query and the BEx query will determine what MDX query will be generated, and this MDX query will then fetch the data.
But why BEx query extract data faster then MDX query?
Sorry, i am new to this. hope someone could share some light here. In the meantime i continue to real those documentation and try to get some more ideas of what is actually happening.

Did i understand it correctly that BEx query is using a different set of program (platform) to retrieve data compare to MDX query, and not MDX uses those program that is used by BEx to retrieve data from BW database and have extra steps on top of that?
Can anyone share what is actually happen WEBi MDX query is executed (how the database is hit with SQL, and what are the tools to evaluate the efficiency of the WEBi (or the used BEx). As for BEx we have RSRT to analyze it right.
And even to test the MDX query using MDXTEST and try to get the data from WEBi report, i found WEBi report still take considerably a lot longer. Why is this so? just because BO is a different system then BW?
And as it's shared the BO 4.0 is using the same platform as BEx to retrieve data from BW database, does this mean we don't need to care about MDX usage in BW anymore as far as BO data extraction concern?

Siebel CRM Web services query limit 100 rows

Hi everyone,
A have an little problem here.
I need get accounts, contacts and oportunitys from Siebel CRM in clound using SIEBEL web service query methods BUT this web service allow me only 100 rows per query and I need more because at this moment I am using ODI interfaces for load XML response file into database tables and ODI don´t have an loop and so on...
My question is:
Is possible eliminate this limitation in administrative painel or something like?

What version of Siebel are you using? There was a bug in some versions when session management was used but it worked okay in other scenarios, e.g., when the user id and password were passed in the URL. This bug (id 12-1KXYCJ7 and 12-1KXYCJ7) has been fixed (more than once by the look of it). I have not noticed the same in 8.1.1.1.

Where would you check performance of webi? query is taking long time to run

In the bex query world running on portal you were able to go to sm50 and check what the query is doing and where it is taking a long time or atleast you were able to see the processes runing.
Where would you check the running processes when you are running a webi query, we are trying to write a webi report which is on universe which is created on bex query. The report is very simple just two fields and an mandatory variable which is coming from bex query (have defined the variable in bex query). When we exeute the query it is taking a long time just spinning and I am not getting any data back, on the same query before even hitting the run query button, I am trying to put a object in query filters and set the filter as In list from Value(s) from list and it is taking forever to set that filter.
Can we go to CMC or BW backend and check anywhere we are using sap authentication, I see the number of sessions in CMC but that is it.

Gowtham - What is the optimal array fetch size that needs to set for the universes, can you explain bit more about array fetch size?
All our universes are on BEx queries designed in SAP BW in that case does the array fetch size matter and array bind size matter? I had read this in oneof the universe designer manuals for OLAP universes The Array fetch size, Array bind size, and Login timeout parameters are not used for OLAP connections

SOAP web service: query parameter?

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie when it comes to web services and I've hit a problem that I didn't expect. I've exposed several SOAP services using the JAX-WS and WebLogic which are working fine. I've tried implementing an access key security mechanism such as Amazon does by adding a filter in front of the service's handling servlet to check for an access key sent as an HTTP query parameter. So basically, the service that was exposed at the following URL:
http://localhost/company/service
must now be accessed using the following URL:
http://localhost/company/service?accessKey=123
The filter checks the accessKey parameter and short-circuits the request if the wrong access key is sent.
While this approach works well with JAX-RS web services, it doesn't seem to be working as well with JAX-WS web services: adding the parameter makes WebLogic return a 404 error instead of processing the request. I'm convinced I've seen web services being called with query parameters and that this can be done, but I don't see how. Any ideas anyone?

It seems that the servlet generated by Workshop doesn't handle extra parameters too well. I've managed to get it working by tweaking the filter so that it lets WSDL retrieval requests pass through but still filters the other requests. Everything is working fine.

External List: List View Web Part query never returns

I am experiencing an usual issue in our development SharePoint 2013 environment. I have been troubleshooting it for a couple hours, so thought it is time to post a message here.
I have created a number of external content types and lists on our site. I have validated that the lists display the expected data.
However, when I add a page to our site, and add a list view web part to the page, and point the list view web part at the external list, I get unexpected behavior. While I am editing the page, the web part displays the expected data. However, after
I publish the page, when you browse to the page, all you get is the rotating green arrow gif image, and no data. It displays the image forever. If you then attempt to edit the page, in the editor, you can then see the expected data.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this issue? I have tried switching out web parts, both to the Business Data List and the Content Query web part. The Content Query web part throws an exception if you attempt to point it at any of the external lists,
which after some reading I discovered that this is a known issue with that web part.
The Business Data list web part shows the expected data, but I have been unable to get paging/grouping working with that web part yet.

I have recreated this issue on a clean site collection. I have also discovered this issue only occurs with publishing pages, not site pages. next step is to try to reproduce it on another share point 2013 install.

SAP BW query view deletion in Web/ "Delete Query view" in web

Dear All,
We are using the standard template: BW web analyzer (0ANALYZER). In this standard template, SAP provided two links "Save View" and "Open View" for creating new query views and opening existing query views respectively. However, no oppurtunity was provided to "delete query views".
We would like to have an oppurtunity to delete the query views as well from Web. (currently we are deleting the unwanted query views from Bex analyzer, as per the request from business users - who have access only to the web reports).
Would be great if you can suggest some solution to this problem.
By the way, We would not like to use the standard "Query view selection" web item. (as it creates user specic local views only).

Content Search web part query

HI,
I am struggling to apply filters for one of my query scenario
1. I have multiple Site Collections http://RootWeb/Sites/Jobs,
http://RootWeb/Sites/Job1 Etc
Each site collection has a list with data. One of the column in those lists is Division (Values may be Division 1, Division 2 Etc)
2. I have another Site Collection http://RootWeb/Sites/Division1
I am adding a content search web part to display information related to all Job's from Job's list based on Division Site I aam browsing.
My Issue is I have another application with similar structure.
How to filter my data so it returnes results data only from my current web app site collection and not another web app site collection?

Hi kesari,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display data only from one site collection in Content Search web part.
For your issue, you can create a Result Source for the site collection using the query "Path:<URL of the site collection>". The result source only query the date from the site collection. Then you can use the Result Source in the
Content Search web part, and apply some queries.

Unable to edit Web Intelligence query

We have a Web Intelligence report with multiple queries based on what I believe to be local data sources (text files/excel). The problem that we are having is that we need to make modifications to the report's queries but when we go to edit them we get a message saying "This query cannot be edited". I believe this is happening because "Editable" was deselected in the query properties but cannot be certain.
The report was created by a contractor who has recently left the company and no longer available to make updates. Is there any way to get back in to edit the query? Is there something else that may be causing the query to not be editable?

As John said that it is a permission issue. I had same case like that and I resolved my problem with following below steps ( It will be best to logging in as an Administrator account to CMC)
CMC-> Access Level -> Included Rights -> Application -> Web Intelligence -> Desktop Interface - enable local data providers

I have a j2ee web application with oracle database.
I finish the function implementation by put all caculaton inside oracle query ( funciton (todayData - avg(historical data )) / std(historical data) and using group by and sub query .but performance is very slow about 3 minute whick is far from client's 10 second requirement.
My question is if I take raw data from database and do the caculation part in Java will it be faster. Is there some other way to speed up the process?(historical data is big)

process?(historical data is big)My initial reaction would be no, you should focus on opportunities to tune the SQL within Oracle. If you are talking about large volumes of data, pulling that data across a network or even through memory structures will only slow you down. Don't look for nits, look for changes that will have significant impact on performance, this could be creation of a new index, perhaps a bitmap index for performance, it could be simplifying the query by nesting queries rather then using sub-selects, based on the volume of data materialized views may be in order.
I really believe that focusing on Oracle will be the quickest solution for you to implement and has the best of chance of improving the performance to meet your users demands.
Having said that...
Given the scale of the problem, you may want to consider re-architecting the work that is being done by the query. This may include a hybrid solution that includes Oracle providing smaller subsets of data (lists) that can be quickly returned to the program and are in turn used as part of an ensuing query. This suggestion is different then pulling the raw database data into the application in that you are only pulling small amounts of data across the network. A hybrid solution, can be a very effective algorithm when combined with proper and efficient JDBC coding.
This is all pretty vague I know, but since I haven't seen your code or query it is difficult to be specific.
