WebAS Java behind proxy

Hi
Since my WebAS J2EE server is behind a proxy, any application from within the server is not able to connect to the internet for ex: webdynpro application is not able to collect data from a webservice.
I've gone through previous posts but were not quite useful.
I tried applying parameters to the server0 java process
(-DproxyHost=xxxx -DproxyPort=xxxx) but it doesnt help.
Thanks in advance,
Rajit

Hi Rajit,
Check following posts for the same.
Error: Response code 302, When accessing Google search API from Webdynpro
Re: how to configure proxy serwer IP and port?
If you are using Proxy in between and this proxy requires Authentication then you have to manually authenticate as explained in this post.
In your logical port, you can specify your proxy ip and port information.

  • Creating java sockets behind proxy servers.

    Hi,
I am trying to create a socket to an external server(i.e. a public server) from behind a proxy firewall, but the socket creation statement throws an IO exception. Can someone please let me know how to create sockets using proxy servers.
    TIA

I tried using java.net.Proxy for the connection. But the socket to the proxy itself is not getting created. It throws the IllegalArgumentException.

  • Error while invoking web services from Proxy services in OSB

I have a Proxy Service of message type in Oracel Service Bus 10gR3 and it passes the incoming messages from a JMS Queue to Business Service of Web Services type. This Web Service is hosted in Glass Fish v3 and it's binding style is RPC. The JRE used in both the servers are 1.6.0_20. The JMS message is of Text type. The Web Services at the Glass Fish throws MessageCreationException for any content of the JMS message. However, it works fine if Business Service's test client is invoked from the OSB'S Admin Console. However, the same will not work if Proxy Service's test client is called.
The detailed exception stack is given below :

Let me explain what I am trying to achieve. Our application receives data from multiple sources - from mainframe using FTP, JMS Queue and BPM application using Web Services. The data from all these sources are sending to a Web Service running in GlassFish V3. To handle this I have created three Proxy Services and one Business Service on OSB. The Business Service is of type Web Service using the same WSDL from the target Web Service.
The Proxy Services are configured as follows:
Proxy 1 (type - Messaging service) listens to the JMS Queue and receives JMS Text Message -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
Proxy 2 (type - Messaging service Polls files from the FTP Server -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
Proxy 3 (type - Web service) is invoked by the BPM application and sends a String -> Business Service(B1) (Web Service).
All the Proxies route to the same Business Service - B1 which calls the Web Service in GlassFish. The only Proxy that works fine is Proxy 3 which is created using the same WSDL of the Web Service. In the other two proxies it thows the same exception in GlassFish as I mentioned before.
com.sun.xml.ws.protocol.soap.MessageCreationException: Couldn't create SOAP message due to exception: XML reader error: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxEOFException: Unexpected EOF in prolog at [row, col {unknown-source}]: [1,0] at com.sun.xml.ws.encoding.SOAPBindingCodec.decode(SOAPBindingCodec.java:359)
Is this configuration correct to achieve my requirements?
Once again thanks for the help.

  • SOAP --XI ---RFC or Java Client  Proxy

    Hello Gurus,
Need your adivce for a scenario in XI
Scenario ---  To implement XI with SAP SCEM(Supply Chain Event Management).
Client is sending data from Web Portal (JSP Page) and wants to integrate with R/3.
(Request from client and Response from R/3 shown again at browser )
Web Portal (JSP Page) is on server A and XI on server B
    Queries ---
    1. Can I use Java Client Proxy Approach ---  proxy --- xi -- rfc approach
If  Web Portal (JSP page) is working in server A and XI in server B then can I call xi server from jsp page by passing xi server credential (username, password, bus service) and using sync Interface I can show result back to browser.
    2. For SOAP Approach  -- SOAP -- XI --- RFC approach
Suppose I need to send two parameters from my Web Portal (JSP page) to xi to R/3 and it will return some result.
Concept of Webservice --- any application (like BAPI ) exposed.
    a. Pls tell me all the steps required for IR and ID
b.How can I invoke that generated webservice from my jsp page --- so that my request parameters values go to xi from my jsp page and to R/3 and then result from R/3 to xi and to my jsp page.
    Regards

I think second approach is more appropriate ie. SOAP>XI>RFC

  • ABAP Web Service client proxy - generation problems

    Hi!
I tried to create an ABAP web service client proxy for many different web services -
for instance some of that listed at <a href="http://www.xmethods.net/">http://www.xmethods.net/</a> .
Almost on 99% of the WSDLs the client proxy generation failed.
For istance "<extension> not supported", or "<message...> must have at least one part",... .
Could anybody tell me what restrictions are to web services you can create a
    ABAP client proxy for ?
In the SAP Web AS Java Stack there is no problem at all to generate a
client proxy for almost all of the xmethod-WebServices !
Is the ABAP Web Service proxy generation for production use ?

  • WEBAS Java Technical system

    Hi all,
Could you please give me an example of an application for which we would need to create WEB AS JAVA technical system?
    Regards,
    Ashish

    Hi,
<i>Could you please give me an example of an application for which we would need to create WEB AS JAVA technical system?</i>
In case of java proxies,u will create java proxies from interfaces in IR.
But u would need some java application which will call methods of those java proxies, these proxies can be called using EJBs in java application.
You will create EJBs from thses proxies and then use one java application to call these EJBs.
When this java application gets executed it sends proxy message to XI,XI identifies this message with the help of technical ystem which should be of type WEBAS JAVA,because the server on which u deploy ur JAVA application is of type WAEAS JAVA.
So u need to create WEBAS JAVA technical system to send message from JAVA proxies.
    Thanks.

  • Empathy longstanding issue behind proxy

There is a longstanding issue of empathy (or telepathy-gabble) behind proxy.
I have tried to get solutions for years. Here is the description:
    Settings:
    * I am behind a proxy.
    * I have set the system proxy settings and http_proxy/socks_proxy in the environment.
    * The latest version of empathy (3.12.1)
    Issue:
I use empathy to login GTalk account. The authentication worked fine. However, there is
an error "Network error" showing in the dialog. This happened before displaying
my contacts. I googled this issue and found that something wrong with telepathy-gabble.
So, I abandoned empathy for a long time.
But, recently, I use a newly registered google account to login GTalk with empathy.
Everything is well. I can chat with others. Still, I cannot login with my old account.
This seems wired. I asked others to try their accounts, some of them can login without problem
    and some still have problem.
For years, I can only use GMail in the browser to access my gtalk. I know this is about
empathy rather than Arch Linux. But, I like this community and believe someone could help me.

    Hello Enrique,
I fully agree - but unfortunately there is not much choice regarding the network layout. Or at least I cannot influence it ;-P
The problem seems to be a bit mor subtle than I thought at first. I already have configured both Web Start and the browser to use the proxy. However, the error message clearly indicates that the integration builder (IB) doesn't use the configured port of the proxy to connect to the web application server, but another port.
Our server listens on port 50000. The error message tells me that the IB tries to connect using port 50004. Obviousely it tries to open a direct socket to the server - probably an extra connection to exchange commands etc (RMI? CORBA? WebServices?). This is not possible in our network configuration.
The question ist whether I can somehow influence this port to make a connection using this proxy possible...
    Regards, Joerg

  • Connection configuration properties behind proxy

I'm trying to reach a web service registry from behind proxy. In order to connect to it I'm setting it's address and port using
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyHost", httpProxyHost);
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyPort", httpProxyPort);
but getting HTTP 407 error - Proxy Authentication Required. I believe I need to set my proxy ID and password somehow. Dos anyone know how to do that? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Michael D.

First, what API has the "javax.xml.registry" in it. I cant find any reference to it. I could have missed it I suppose. Let me know and I will take a look.
Other ideas after looking at your code that you can try in the meantime.
Since the Properties class is a hashtable it is based on key word value. The ConnectionFactory class needs to know the exact key.
    Try changing the following:
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxySet", "true");
    to:
    props.setProperty("proxySet", "true");
Do that for each line. Just use the last word (i.e. proxyHost, proxyPort). It could simply be that ConnectionFactory is not finding the correct key.
I could be wrong here, but I am waiting to find out what API you are using.
The SoapHTTPConnection class has a number of methods for working with a proxy, such as setPassword and setHost. Perhaps ConnectionFactory has the same settings or the connection returned has methods for this.
Im not sure what class the createConnection method returns, but check there for appropriate methods.
