WebClipping Portlet WCS-510 Errors
Hi, I am trying to get Webclipper to work. I have installed the latest PDK int a 10gAS environment.
The proxy has been configured in the provider.xml file:
<proxyInfo class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ProxyInformation"> <httpProxyHost>crhois1.ourserver.com.au</httpProxyHost>
<httpProxyPort>8080</httpProxyPort>
<dontProxyFor>ourserver.com.au</dontProxyFor>
</proxyInfo>
But when I configure the webclipping portlet to show a website (internal or external) I get the error:
An exception has occured : WCS-510 -- HTTP connection failed to URL http://theage.com.au by method get
In the application.log file we get errors:
BEGIN nested exception
HTTPClient.AuthSchemeNotImplException: NTLM
I tried to add
<proxyUser>tempit</proxyUser>
<proxyPassword>tempit</proxyPassword>
to the provider.xml to overcome this issue, but then I get the error:
An exception has occured : WCS-512 -- HTTP Authentication type of null is not supported
In the application.log we get errors:
04/10/25 11:35:43 webClipping: WARNING: lookup for Show Mode in Clipping Def Phase I
04/10/25 11:35:44 webClipping: WARNING: WCS-512 -- HTTP Authentication type of null is not supported
oracle.portal.wcs.transport.http.HttpTransportException: WCS-512 -- HTTP Authentication type of null is not supported
I found Bug No. 3173038, but it does not give any solution.
Please advise!
Thanks for any posts.Found the problem: the proxy requires a username/pwd for authentication. There is a bug that will not enable this to work, but will be fixed in the next release (expected December 04).

B-channel oos and protocol error 510
Dear all,
I have some some issue couple of days ago. The telephony system of my client worked well and suddenly the cannot make external calls via E1. I checked the config and for me it seems to be ok. When I checked the SDL file, I can see the B channel out of service error message following by the
"MGCP PROTOCOL ERROR: <S1/SU1/DS1-0/[email protected]> CRCX error code: 510". They have A CUCM 6.0 and Cisco 2821 as gateway with 12.4 (25f) advance IP service IOS.
I perform the following actions without success:
-From the CUCM in the advance service I forced the Bchannel to bring it in service,
- no mgcp/mgcp, -reboot the CUCM and the Gateway,
-reset the controller throug CUCM,... in vain.
They contacted telco and has confirm that everything seems to be ok. Find below the information that can help you to undestand better

Thanks for your helpThe explanation for your syslog message is " The B-channel indicated by this alarm has gone out of service. Some of the more common reasons for a B-channel to go out of service include: Taking the channel out of service intentionally to perform maintenance on either the near- or far-end; MGCP gateway returns an error code 501 or 510 for a MGCP command sent from Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM); MGCP gateway doesn't respond to an MGCP command sent by Unified CM three times; a speed and duplex mismatch exists on the Ethernet port between Unified CM and the MGCP gateway"
Recommended action:
Check the Unified CM advanced service parameter, Change B-channel Maintenance Status to determine if the B-channel has been taken out of service intentionally; Check the Q.931 trace for PRI SERVICE message to determine whether a PSTN provider has taken the B-channel out of service; Reset the MGCP gateway; Check the speed and duplex settings on the Ethernet port. -
Hi all,
I have a question on executing BW query.
I created a own view and want to execute this view,but I got error message
510:value 6001552 for characteristic BCUSTOMER unknown
026:Error when executing the query in OLAP server
the value is given to filter and the characteristic BCUSTOMER is type char10.I got a reply from this forum said I should give 0006001552,but I am not sure whether it is the cause.Since I also gave the same number(6001552) in BEx,and it worked there.
Anybody can help me?
Thanks in advance!

2) Imported certificates from https site into WLS_Portlet key store
Thanks
BikashHi,
Are you using proxy server? if yes you have to configure it, or it is problem with your provider.xml file. Can you past the code from provider.xml related to proxy setting?
I have resolved this issue by follow following technique, Look this code from provider.xml
<proxyInfo class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ProxyInformation">
<!-- <httpProxyHost></httpProxyHost>
<httpProxyPort></httpProxyPort>
<dontProxyFor>*.mycompany.com</dontProxyFor> -->
<proxyUseAuth></proxyUseAuth>
<proxyType></proxyType>
<proxyRealm></proxyRealm>
<proxyUseGlobal></proxyUseGlobal>
<proxyUser></proxyUser>
</proxyInfo>
commented first three tags and removed value from remaining tags.
Just try with that, Hope this will solve your problem

Error When Trying To Add Web Clipping
Receiving the following error in the Apache error log when trying to add a webClipping portlet:

Ignore this cookie.
The error "WCS-102" shows up on the web - page while trying to add a webClipping portet.
We have installed JPDK 9.0.2.6.2 over 9.0.2.6.1 and redeployed jpdk and portalTools. Note that the middle tier is a two node RAC.Sorry to resurrect this old topic - but was a solution found for this? I'm having the same problem.

This looks like the user dont have permissions to create the space, but even Admin user weblogic also geting the same error.
Please may I know how to debug this and where to see for the permissions.
Thanks!!Hi,
Please follow steps, may be your issue will be resolved.
Steps:
1.Create the Discussions administrator user using the DefaultAuthenticator provider as indicated here:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter
11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
23 Managing Security
23.3.4.1 Migrating the WebCenter Discussions Server to use an External LDAP
The Discussions Administrator user must exist in the external LDAP and also you need to create the user using the DefaultAuthenticator provider in the embedded LDAP.The username in the embedded LDAP must match the username in the External LDAP.
Review all steps from the above section of the documentation to be sure you performed all the steps.
2.Grant WebCenter Spaces Administrator Role to the Discussions Administrator user as indicated here:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter
23.3 Configuring the Identity Store
23.3.5 Granting the WebCenter Spaces Administrator Role to a WebCenter Spaces User
23.3.5.1 Granting the WebCenter Spaces Administrator Role Using Fusion Middleware Control
3.Restart the WLS_Spaces and WLS_Services Managed Servers.
If this helps please mark.

I have got the following error when I am running my application using JDBC. It works fine but after running long time I have got this error.
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection refused(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=153092352)(ERR=12500)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12500)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=12540)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=12560)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=510)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(BUF='Solaris Error: 12: Not enough space'))))
Please help me stating the reason behind it.
Thanks
Manisha NandiI got a connection in one class(say A) which is a static member of that class (in A). Then I have used it another class(say B). After using it I closed all the statements , results. As the program means to run forever that's why I didnot close the connection.So that I can use it . But when I press CTRl+C the opened connection in class A was closed.
So may it be the reason ?
Thanks

Content Server Error - User not found in Identity Store
Hello,
I am trying to setup an external provider in Weblogic so that I can authenticate users via Oracle Access Manager / Oracle Internet Directory.
I have followed the documentation and created a new provider for my external Provider and called it OIDAuthenticator. I have made sure that the Control Flag is set to SUFFICIENT. Oracle Access Manager is installed and configured. It authenticates my logins and SSO works fine.
The problem is that when I try to create users in OID and then login to Webcenter, I get the following error:
WCS#2012.02.14.07.49.09 : User: tuser03 not found in identity store.
The strange thing is that I am successfully logged in with the correct groups after I click on the ok button on the error popup.
Any ideas???
Thanks,
Darren.The error goes away if I add the user to the Embedded LDAP.
This looks like a problem with the Control Flag setting but I can't see what I've done wrong because I have checked the Control Flag has been set to SUFFICIENT for OIDAuthenticator and OIDAuthenticator providers.
Have I missed something? -
Hi,
I setup my webcenter spaces using OID. I used the console application to setup OIDAuthenticator. I can see OID users and groups in the console application. I can also login to webcenter spaces using any of the OID user. But when I try to create a page in webcenter spaces I get error
WCS#2009.10.20.11.20.34: No matching users were found with search string ..
Also, when I try to change permission grants for a given page in webcenter spaces using 'Set Page Access' I cannot search for any of the OID users.
I have modified my jps-config.xml to add
<property name="username.attr" value="uid"/>
<property name="user.login.attr" value="uid"/>
inside the 'idstore.ldap' serverInstance as mentioned in the document. But stilll it does not work.

<property name="username.attr" value="cn"/>
<property name="user.login.attr" value="sAMAcountName"/>.
For me, this issue rears its ugly head when attempting to add a role to an AD user. I can enter the login name in the find user box, click the find button, and the user is found. I select the user, pick the role, click "Add Member(s)", and then bam "No matching users were found with search string <login user>" message.
Based on my analysis of the problem, my guess would be that the look up process, which works, differs from the role assignment process in source of data and/or the key-field used to find a match.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In Advance. -
Emails from WCS saying that AP is down.Plz help
Hi Experts,
I am new to wireless and I am facing strange issue here. Hence need your help in order to resolve this.
Everyday I am getting the E-Mails from WCS.
Error:
WCS has detected one or more alarms of category AP and severity Critical in Virtual Domain root
for the following items:
802.11a interface of AP AP-1140-1 is down: Controller 10.12.0.20
802.11b/g interface of AP AP-1140-1 is down: Controller 10.12.0.20 ( couple of times)
I would like to know what is causing this? and how do i need to troubleshoot this?
What errors and logs do I need to enable on controller?
I dont want the AP's to get disconnect very often as this will impact the users. Around 10-15 Aps getting disassociated everyday.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Faricheck for how long it stays disconnected. Then go on WCS and try to look in the alarms to see if it mentions a reason for having left when it joins again ...
You can also check the message logs on the WLC itself.

Conn.Pooling Error !!!
My JRUN Based Conn.Pooling fails stating this reason.
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection refused
(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=135286784)(ERR=12500)(ERROR_STACK=
(ERROR=(CODE=12500)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=12540)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=
(CODE=12560)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=510)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=
(BUF='IBM/AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 11: Resource temporarily
unavailable'))))
We are using Oracle815 with Thin Drivers(classes12.zip) in our
JRUN is that 815 does not support conn.poolingAre you using a Singleton pattern? Maybe you are inadvertantly creating many pool instances instead of using the same pool all the time?
I finally see what you are trying to do in your free method, and I would still suggest rethinking this. Usually you close the statement and result sets where you have used them in your code ...possibly in a dafai block ...er, sorry ...a finally block.
Maybe your problem stems from your altered free method, or maybe you are accidentally creating more than just one single instance of the pool. What is your max and initial connections set to? Do they exceeed the limitations of your database configuration for concurrent connections?
Since this is a version of the original Marty Hall pool, would you like to try a link to his pool ver batim? You could replace your pool with one we know works?

An exception has occurred : oracle.portal.wcs.transport.http.HttpTransportException WCS-510 -- HTTP connection failed to URL http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=webcenter by method get
Any help please
Muhammad NasirThanks lot sir for your kind reply. I have worked two days on this problem and just few moments ago I solved this problem.
I am not behind any proxy server I did following changes to provider.xml file in proxy section
<proxyInfo class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ProxyInformation">
<!-- <httpProxyHost></httpProxyHost>
<httpProxyPort></httpProxyPort>
<dontProxyFor>*.mycompany.com</dontProxyFor> -->
<proxyUseAuth></proxyUseAuth>
<proxyType></proxyType>
<proxyRealm></proxyRealm>
<proxyUseGlobal></proxyUseGlobal>
<proxyUser></proxyUser>
</proxyInfo>
commented first three tags and removed value from remaining tags.
I am following your book Oracle WebCenter 11g PS3 Administration Cookbook very well written :) . I have also embedded Google docs by following your book successfully but
on portal Google docs page is blank I dont know why.
Thank you,

Web Clipping portlet and https
We have an external ASP application that requires HTTPS authentication. We want to pull the application into portal via a Web Clipping portlet.
However when we try start up web clipping studio with the https url we get the following error:
'WCS-517 -- SSL handshake failed for HTTPS connection to URL https://icwwwd.cc.ic.ac.uk/spectrum/ict/services/software/shop/downloads/SoftwareShop.asp by method get'
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to use the web clipping portlet to access a secure page?
2. If so does anyone know why we are getting this error?
3. Assuming we can, how do we get portal to automatically log on to the application via https so users do not have to login twice i.e. once into portal and once into the asp application?
Thanks
AndrewHere is a more complete answer, cut and paste from the Oracle9iAS Portal Web Clipping Portlet Users and Administrators Guide at
http://portalcenter.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/DOCTEAM/WEBCLIPPING/WEBCLIPV9025.PDF
5.3 Configuring Security
When a user navigates to a secure site, the Web site typically returns a
certificate identifying itself to the user when giving secure information. If
the user accepts the certificate, the certificate is placed into the list of trusted
certificates of the browser so that a secure channel can be opened between
the browser and that server. Like aWeb browser, theWeb Clipping Provider
behaves as an HTTP client to external Web sites. In order for the Web
Clipping Provider to keep track of trusted sites, it makes use of a file that
stores the certificates of those sites, namely the ca-bundle.crt file.
The shipped ca-bundle.txt is an exported version of the trusted server
certificate file from OracleWallet Manager (OWM). The default trusted
server certificate in OWM does not cover all possible server certificates that
exist on theWeb. For this reason, when a user navigates to a secure server
using HTTPS, the user may get an "SSL Hand-shake failed" exception in the
Web Clipping Studio. To solve this problem, the ca-bundle.crt file
needs to be augmented with new trusted sites that are visited. As a Portal
Administrator, you must do the following to extend the shipped
ca-bundle.crt file:
1. Use a browser (preferably Internet Explorer) to download the root
server certificate from each external HTTPSWeb site in BASE64 format
that is visited, and is missing from the trusted certificate file.
2. Use Oracle Wallet Manager (OWM) to import each certificate.
3. Export the trusted server certificates into a file and replace the
ca-bundle.crt file with that file.
For more information about Oracle Wallet Manager, see Chapter 17 "Using
Oracle Wallet Manager" in Oracle Advanced Security Administrators Guide in
the Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2) documentation section on the Oracle
Technology Network (OTN) (http://otn.oracle.com).
=============
So, if you have another certificate authority that you need to add, i.e., DOD certs, etc., you must follow the instructions above.
