WebDynpro ESS content pages with ECC6 backend blank while loading (hanging)

Hello all.
I am implementing ESS on a newly installed NetWeaver 2004s SP10 Java Server with portal and existing ERP2005 / ECC6 backend.
Whenever it comes to the concrete pages, e.g. own address or WhoIsWho, the pages remain blank while loading. The "progress bar" in the Browser status frame moves forward a bit and then seems to hang.
I know this issue was asked in some other threads but I couldn't find the concrete ansewer to my situation.
My steps:
1) Deployment: XSS (PCUI_GP) 07, ESS 07, ESS BP 07, all last SP
2) Portal systems as mentioned in ESS docu: I configured all system parameters but the connection tests fail for the J2EE and the "R/3" system, is that a problem?
3) JCO definition: all tests successfull, even SSO.
4) ECC6: demo users linked to employees, given the neccessary(?) permissions (mainly ESS role profiles and S_Service authorization as I found that in another thread)
5) Portal / PCD permissions for the ESS user: on the ESS root folder, on the systems and even on the "Content prov. by SAP" folder, where I don't want them...
What I missed regarding some other posts:
I did not configure the portal content in the IMG of the backend under Personal Management->ESS. Do I have to?
There are some Service Keys predefined but not all like in the ESS docu, e.g. the one for WHOSWHO is not there like spelled in the docu. Do I have to define it?
If so, what are the correct keys and parametets, since I can't find it in the ESS docu.
Please can someone give me a complete example for one application function with the  Service Key and all service parameters like path, object, pcd url?
On top of each application section in the ESS docu is a technical description. Are these the entries for service definition? But not all fields are matching, an example which data belongs to which field in the service definition would be helpfull.
Or did I miss something else?
Where are the log files located to find additional info (I'm relatively new...)

I solved it:
After setting up some general permissions of the Portal-Content folders in reference to a Portal post-install guide, the "Everyone" default group was missing on the ESS content folder because the permissions were not inherited any more.
I added "ESS role" permissions before but not "Everyone" group. I guess "Everyone" is needed for some general content included in the iviews. After adding "Everyone" with eu-role to ESS content folder (and srvcfg) it worked.

    Hi,
    I'm creating a PDF from a series of TIFF images and encountering a problem.
    I'll intermittently have 1 content page replaced by a blank page and this can happen anywhere in the PDF file. Upon several retries, I may just get rid of the problem. In a batch of 10 documents (50 & above TIFF pages), there may be up to 5 of them having this issue. Smaller jobs for up to 4 TIFF pages are alright. The inconsistency is frustrating as my operations involved thousands of these documents and I now have to validate every one of them.
    Could this be a memory issue? I'm having a 2.6Ghz dual-core processor and 8GB RAM running Windows 2008 64bit Server.

    Maybe a blank PDF due to a "blank" TIFF which was the scanner output of a sheet of paper having no imprint (text, drawing, whatever).

  • Page blanking while loading

    I have a web page with an activex control on it. While the applet loads, the page blanks several times before the applet is completely loaded. Is there any way to load the page and have it stay on constantly while the applet loads?

    The text and links on the page all show up properly,
    then the whole page becomes white. After a short
    time, prob less than half a second, the text shows up
    again. It all turns white one more time before the
    applet and everything shows up properly. It is
    possible it's not exactly a Java issue. I've not had
    alot of experience with this, but do know the
    majority of the code for the applet and page is Java.The majority of the code for the page is probably HTML, I haven't seen an applet-embedding page to act like that, and after all, it goes blank way before the Java code is actually executed...
    Could it be possible that it's the browser's reaction to the ActiveX?

  • SSL indicator disappears when page with video tag has been loaded

    I have a strange bug in Firefox, that was detected when site moved to SSL.
    There is single page site built on Backbone.
    When page with video tag loaded SSL indicator disappears.
    Firebug shows that Firefox create GET request connection to the server but it hangs.
    All site logic work correctly. And video on this page works perfect, I can click play and new connection will be created and video played but first connection still hangs.
    There is four page with video tag (four steps of wizard) and hanged connection appears randomly on this pages.
    Actually this issue exists without SSL, but detected only when we moved to SSL and lock icon began to disappear.

    The SSL indicator can disappear if there is mixed content on that page (i.e. coming via an unencrypted http connection).
    Did you click the Site Identity Button (globe/padlock) and proceeded to the Security tab in Page Info?

    You need to install the dependency package first like glibc, etc
    also see the output from runcluvfy, it should show which packages need to installed

  • I open iphoto and it's a blank page with a white circular marker loading

    I'm not sure what to do.  I know my photos are not deleted they are in the master file.  I tried holding down the option key and opening iPhoto and choosing iPhoto library default and nothing happnes.  I also tried to move a photo into iPhoto and it asks to start a new library and save it in pictures but nothing happens.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Page with user role anonymous not loading on standalone weblogic server

    I have gone through similar posts and still was unable to find a solution to my problem so thought of posting the problem myself
    Steps i followed
    - created a jsff page
    - created a taskflow and dropped the jsff page on it(considered option of granting anonymous role to taksflow and otherwise also)
    - created a jspx page and droped the taskflow as a region on it (the bindings are visible of the taskflow)
    -granted the anonymous role to the jspx page and checked the view box under actions
    -used the following code for page redirection from an image

    The page is called on click of a link and smoothly opens in the integrated weblogic environment however on standalone server it give me the following error

    Checks i made
    - Compared the EAR file jazn.xml file with the jazn.xml file in jdeveloper
    - reviewed the system-data-jazn.xml file and confirmed entries of the application roles which matched the ones in jazn.xml file
    Have been on for this issue for a while now.Would appreciate any help on this

    I deployed your app to standalone and integrated servers both and I am able to navigate to the next page successfully by using the below URL:
    http://127.0.0.1:7101/NEA/faces/view1
    Please note that view1 is the view id not the jspx page name, so you should not include .jspx page when working with taskflows

  • HTML Page with Flash Video will not load in Firefox and Chrome

    When going to the page http://www.airsept.com/linespliceanimation.html in Firefox (latest version) I am prompted to either open or save the file as if I clicked a link to download a file.  Going to this web page in Google Chrome displays the code.
    What the crap is going on?  I can't figure it out.  It works as it should in IE 7.

    It looks like you fixed it.  You should close it now so so it won't be listed as open.

    Previously i tried data loading using LIS & LO, but i was not able to load data, i was taking it as some transfer structure problem.
    But just today i tried to load Master Data, and its displaying the same error. I feel its something related to IDoc/Basis settings, please see the below wrror described and try to help.

    in the details tab of RSMO, before that IDOC, i m getting this error message also:
    1. Requests (messages): Everything OK
    1.1 Data request arranged
    1.2 Confirmed with: OK
    2Extraction (messages): Missing messages
    2.1Missing message: Request received
    2.2Missing message: Number of sent records
    2.3Missing message: Number of sent records
    after that its
    Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Errors occurred
    If it can add something extra in getting the solution.....

  • Error in code page mapping for Source system whil loading the data from ECC

    HI Gurus,
    I am working in a implementation project, Recently our BI sand box is up, when i am doing my load from 0comp_code_attr it is throwing an error "Error in code page mapping for source system"(This is my first load from ECC).
    In details tab it is showing as the data is sent from the source system but the data is not reaching to the PSA.
    Please let me know if there are any settings needs to be made.

    Thanks for your quick response. I did it but it didn't resolve the issue. since the system id which i am having is 3 digits(LEC) but there it is taking only 2 digits, so i clicked on the button called Propose system ids, it has praposed LE, but the issue is stil there.
    Do we need to do any settings in LBWE??

  • Contents Page, Justified Chapters

    I have a contents page with 20 chapters listed. Chapter numbers are left justified and page numbers are right justified. Very standard. I wish to allign the chapter titles after their numbers evenly, but I'm unsure exactly how to do it. When entering the same number of blank spaces in between the chapter number and the chpater, the chapter titles don't appear to line up properly everywhere. It looks something like this:

    2.    My Rabbi-Teacher, Schimshale from Milnitz, for Whom

    Don't line things up with spaces!!
    Use tabs.
    Use a paragraph style for the contents and in the Tabs option set the positions and type of tab you need to use.  Have the preview box at the bottom left of the pannel clicked to make it easier to set up.

  • Baffling - Safari Rolling Up My External Drives While Loading Page

    Does anyone have any idea why when I try to open up a web page with Safari, before it will load Safari seems to be rolling up my external hard drives from their sleep mode and won't load the page until they are active and spinning? This is quite baffling to me as I'm not trying to save anything or would require anything off these drives to look at a web page. Has done it on multiple pages - Facebook, Twitter, others. This is new since I upgraded to Lion. I have 1Password installed as an extention, and that's about it. It's really slowing down my surfing (wait, does anyone call it surfing anymore?).
    For what possible reason would it do this?

    This is the way computers work. This is not new since you upgraded to Lion, u just may have not noticed it before, and harddrives spinning is a good thing and normal. U might have other problems however. Anyway, I won't go into it here, but you can google how harddrives work and interact with apps on google.

  • Content Mirroring with WebDynpro ESS

    Hi,
    I created the ECC5 ESS package in my clients namespace.  using Content Mirroring (this works nicely). 
    BUT the ESS role's Area/Group Area pages configed in the IMG still point to the standard installed ESS package. ie I nav to my ESS role click
    Is there a tool simliar to Content Mirroring for the IMG to create all the necessary entries to match my new name space?
    What is (current) best practice for webdynpro ESS? Can anyone point me to any docs? I've checked out the help but not seen anything to date...

    I'm having problems with Twitter not loading up content and showing me a blank page. I've tried to empty the browser cache but it doesn't seem to work.
    I also have issues with Bloomberg not playing videos

    Try clearing cookies and cache:

  • Server errors result in blank pages with security enabled

    I have been working to security-enable my ADF 11 application using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.0. Users, roles and grants all appear to be working as expected. However, I have discovered that server errors no longer appear once I put security in place.
    For example, take a simple JSPX page with one button, and attach an actionListener to the button. In the actionListener, throw an exception. When no ADF security is in place, this results in a 500 server error page, and the exception stack trace (or part of it) is written to the Weblogic console inside JDeveloper. Once ADF security is in place, the behavior changes. The result is a blank page (absolutely no content). Even worse, the exception stack trace is no longer written to the Weblogic console.
    I have tried to work around this by setting an <error-page> in web.xml, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I do know that my <error-page> configuration works in general, because I have a "not authorized" error page set up to catch the ADF AuthorizationException, and that is displayed properly. I have also seen the error page invoked for errors that happen earlier in the rendering process (for instance, if I forget to set a default page in my bounded task flow).
    I don't have any idea where to start on this. Google hasn't been much help, possibly I don't know what I'm looking for.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    We have found a solution to this problem, which we are going to go with until something better pops up.
    In the main unbounded task flow (adfc-config), we added a method call marked as the error-handler. In the method call, we log the exception, something like this:
        public void handleException() {
            Exception e = ControllerContextImpl.getInstance().getCurrentViewPort().getExceptionData();
            e.printStackTrace(System.err);
        }Then, the method call forwards to a JSP to display the error:
    <af:inputText label="Error" value="#{controllerContext.currentViewPort.exceptionData.message}"/>That gets us the equivalent of the old behavior.
    I still find it kind of strange that errors aren't displayed once security is enabled, but at least there is a workaround.
