Webforms caching

Hi,
After deploying my forms to the server, i run the form from runform.htm. This opens up a new window with my form. After i close the window and run my form from runform.htm, It doesn't reload the form but instead shows a cached version.
I would want to reload the form every time I invoke my form form runform.htm. How can i achive this.
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks
Kavitha

what make you think that the form is cached?
Forms (FMX) are not cached on the client when you web deploy.
The fact that it loads up faster the second time isn't because it is cached but rather because the JVM is already started.

    Hello,
In avoiding long download times for the Java classes for using

    Hello,
use Jinitiator to cache the JAR-File . Jinitiator caches the
JAR-File and some other information in the jcache directory
finding under the jinit root directory . You can download
Jinitiator from OTN or Oracle Support for free . It is the Java
Runtime Enviroment from Oracle and gives you the benefit to be
independent from the browser you are using . We use the version
    1.1.7.11 with DEV 6.
    Good luck

  • Issues with WebForm performance

    Hi,
We had migrated a new application from UAT to PROD and we encounter webform performance issues with the following actions..
After login, the first form you open it is
always slow. After this you can switch from one form to another without a
    delay.
Then once you change any data – the next time
you access a form it gets delayed.
The point to be noted is, it doesnt have any performance issues in the UAT environment and the configuration settings, essbase cache settings are all the same. We did try to move the EPM system to a new server to see if this is a hardware issue but no luck, the performance issues still exist. The consumption of the CPU/memory has been checked and it is proved that the form opening delay has nothing to do with lack of memory.
The JVM head settings is set up at 4GB which is infact higher than that of the UAT environment(2GB).
runs on Windows server2008,11.1.2.1.600 EPM serve, has planning, reporting, foundation on one server (32GB ram) and essbase on another server (32GB ram). Any help is appreciated.

I already replied there but it seems no moderator is willing to approve my reply so it never shows up.
So I'll try replying in here instead:
I never thought it could be an emulator issue, I thought I had done something wrong to begin with. So I take having performance issues with tiled layer is not a common problem I suppose?
I'm using MOTODEV SDK platform, A1200 model (motorola).

  • Unable to use Dynamic Calc members on webform Column.

    Hi All,
I am getting an error 'invalid webform' if i keep a dynamic calc member in webform column. For example if i keep scenario "Variance", a dynamic calc member with a formula "Actual -Budget" on webform column, the form is giving me the error.
What could be the issue. I am using 11.1.2.1. It is working fine in our old version 9.3.1.
    Many Thanks

Have you checked the essbase application log as it may be generating an error, could need the cache increasing.
    Cheers

  • WebForms over WAN

I am trying to test webforms across our WAN (128K frame via UK) to our Singapore office.
Things were mightly slow so, I have copied locally the fweb60.jar and everything under the FORM60\java folder and have created a separate base.htm file just for singapore as follows:-
    <APPLET CODEBASE="file://localhost/o:/forms60java/"
    CODE="oracle.forms.engine.Main"
    ARCHIVE="fweb60.jar"........
(NB: They have no local webserver)
The O: drive is a common drive accessed by all users in that office. Testing the form however, I see the fweb60.jar load, but that's as far as it goes it doesn't seem to load all the other class files (main etc) that you would see it load if you sat and watched it using the original 'slow' base.htm.
Any pointers to resolve this issue would be much appreciated!!
    t.i.a

If you are concerned about the startup time of forms there is something yuo can do but you need to be aware that:
    a) The JAR file is downloaded only once and is cached - so if you are finding that the startup time for Forms is slow EVERY time you run Forms then copying the JAR file locally will NOT help. It is probably the complexity of the inital screen or the logic involved which will be causing the problem
    b) If you want to deploy the JAR file locally then you need to remove the archive tag and add the JAR location to the class path e.g. for jinitator add -classpath c:\temp\f60all.jar.
As I always recommned to people, if you are concerned about any performance issues try a simple one button form - if this is slow then there is no use trying to tune a complex app. If the simple form works ok then identify WHY your form is different - does it have lots of SET_ITEM_PROPERTY calls, does it have 500 items on the form etc etc.

  • WebForms Icons

    Hi,
I have closely followed the Oracle document on deploying icons in webforms using JAR's. My trouble is after configuring everything, my JAR's don't download and the images are trying to get read from the incorrect place. My registry.dat file is configured correctly and the location can be verified by hitting the URL and being presented with the dialogue to save or open the JAR. Now, here is the kicker. I just setup my first WebUtil project and VIOLA! the icons work setup the same way! Only difference is that for WebUtil my config section specifies a the baseHTMLJInitiator= value and my .env file for the WebUtil project lists rt.jar in the CLASSPATH. Other than that, the projects are identical.
I have specified imagebase=codebase in both configurations and the JAR files are properly attached to archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,/forms90/yieldd/yieldImages.jar.
When I try to look at the JInitiator the WebUtil project downloads the JAR, but the other projects don't. Here is the sample from my JInitiator.
    PROJECT THAT DOESN'T WORK
    Opening http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar
    Connecting http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar with no proxy
    Loading http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar from JAR cache
    Loaded image: jar:http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar!/oracle/forms/icons/splash.gif
    Loaded image: jar:http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/f90all_jinit.jar!/oracle/forms/icons/bgnd.gif
THE LINES BELOW ARE SUPPOSED TO LOAD THE ICON GIF (arrow.gif) FROM THE JAR FILE THAT DOESN'T DOWNLOAD
I BELIEVE IT SHOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE: Loaded image: jar:http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/tektrace/tektraceicons.jar!/arrow.gif
    Loaded image: http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/arrow.gif
    Opening http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/java/arrow.gif
    WEBUTIL PROJECT THAT WORKS
    Opening http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar
    Connecting http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar with no proxy
    Loading http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar from JAR cache
    Opening http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/yieldd/yieldImages.jar
    Connecting http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/yieldd/yieldImages.jar with no proxy
THIS IS THE WAY THE ONE ABOVE SHOULD LOOK AND IT WORKS GREAT!
    Loaded image: jar:http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/yieldd/yieldImages.jar!/arrow.gif
    Loaded image: jar:http://tekdev02.bv.tek.com:7781/forms90/yieldd/yieldImages.jar!/arrow.gif
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Jarrod Hosley

For the icons not displaying, try out the following:
In the registry.dat file give the full virtual path for the entry "default.icons.iconpath" like
    default.icon.iconpath= http://host.domain_name/web_icons/
/web_icons/ is the virtual path where you have your icons mapped.
The best way to check whether the icons will display is by tying the URL in the browser itself like http://host.domain_name/web_icons/file.gif ---> this should show the gif file. If it still does not then there should be some directory mapping problem.

  • Is it possible to Cache Proxy Credentials in J2RE

Our users access the internet through a proxy server that requires authentication. When users access an internet site that contains Java content the J2RE requests for Proxy credentials. I underestand why this happens but have the following questions...
    1. Is it possible to get J2RE to cache the credentials for future use? This would save users typing their login info each time they access a site with Java content.
    2. Is J2RE able to use the cached proxy credentials used by Internet Explorer? This would save the user having to authenticate more than once to the proxy server.
Any suggestions or explanations are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Timshel

This would not be a direct fault of forms; this is a SQL*Net problem (the forms runtime is communicating with the database over 500km via SQL*Net). Try the same with SQL*Plus...pulling data over small bandwith networks via SQL*Net doesn't make much fun (and I doubt SQL*Net is designed for this).
Next thing is I wouldn't even consider to expose the database at this level in the network; the clients don't need to know about the database, they just need the application server, so you only need to expose the application server to the public and keep your database behind bars.
    @OP if you are experiencing performance problems this might be related to network roundtrips;
what I would do is to check for unnecessary roundtrips and enable networkstats in the formsweb.cfg (search the forum for "networkstats") to see the actual roundtrips. Another thing would be to create a little testform and see if at least dummy forms are performing well. If even the dummy forms have bad performance your connection is too poor to run webforms over them (and you can spare you the pain of searching unnecessary roundtrips).
    cheers

  • Caching Java classes

    Hi,
I would like to have some inputs on the best way to cache applets on the

    Hello,
use Jinitiator to cache the JAR-File .
    Good luck

  • Error Message: Need to purge Cache in Adobe Bridge CC (on PC)

I tried purging using Adobe Bridge by going to Edit/Preferences/Cache then purging, but it becomes non responsive.  The error message said the problem files were at Users/(my user name)/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/BridgeCC/Cache.   There are 4 files in there that are taking up 124 GB!  Can I simply delete these files or will it corrupt my regular files?  I tried doing as some other forums suggested and hold the ALT key down when opening Bridge before purging, but no luck.

Yes, you can delete the cache files manually,  Just be advised that Bridge will become very, very slow until it finishes rebuilding its caches.  Depending on your files, that can take a few minutes or several hours.
A good way of doing it is at night, so you can do it before going to bed and let Bridge rebuild caches overnight.
If you can, save the cache files before deleting them to an external drive, so that you'll have them as backup if something goes wrong.

  • How do I stop Firefox from auto-loading websites on startup? Why doesn't it use the cache?

When I open up Firefox, I see a row of "loading circles" swishing around. I don't want my browser to do this, because it slows down my internet connection, it's unnecessary 95% of the time (I often keep tabs open just to have quick access to some text), and sometime it's actually detrimental (for example, when the page has changed since the last time I loaded it, but I actually wanted the information from the former state of the page).
How do I fix it so that Firefox uses the cached page instead of trying to load a new one?
To clarify: I want Firefox to load the new page when I visit a bookmark, or click on a link to a page I've seen before, or press the reload button. I just don't want it to do this when all I've done is start up Firefox.
Let the tabs sit there until I tell them to do something! Can anyone help?
    Using:
    Firefox 9.0.1
    Windows XP SP3

Yes, but at least the start will be faster and only one tab ta the time is checked on the server.

There are dozens of threads in this forum that describe the fix

  • When I try to open my Lightroom 5 program it comes up with this message, "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit."  How do I fix this?

Can someone please let me know how I can fix this error and open my Lightroom?  Thanks.

You might be quicker help posting in the LR forum rather than the ACR forum, but I believe the way to fix this is to delete the preview cache.
    Find your catalog folder.
    Close LR.
Within the catalog folder, delete the FOLDER called Catalog-Name Previews.lrdata
    Start LR.

  • Outlook autocomplete cache stops working for multiple users at the same time

    Hi there
Ever since we upgraded our Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 we have had problems with the autocomplete cache in Outlook 2010.
We have 700 users and about once per week I get a call about the autocomplete cache. A few users are on cached mode, but most use online mode. The problem appears on both, but it can usually be corrected by /cleanautocompletecache.
Granted, the autocomplete cache gets corrupted sometimes, but it seems to happen a lot for us. I have noticed that often more than one user experiences the problem at the same time, and, since the problem starting after upgrading Exchange, I suspect that
the issue is with Exchange and not Outlook. Yesterday three users complained about the cache at the same time.
I know how to get a broken cache going again - that is not the issue. The issue is keeping this from happening so often.
Anyone out there able to help?
    Thanks!
    /Anders

    Hi ,
Based on my knowledge , when you tried to send an email to a recipient in the same exchange organisation then the recipient address will be resolved in to legacy dn value and then that email will be delivered to destination mailbox by pointing towards to
    that legacy dn value.
For the external recipients exchange user the smtp address to get it delivered.
    For your issue :
Based upon the NDR message , we need to covert those values in to x500 format and add it to respective recipient mailbox as an x500 address. Then These erorrs will happen if the x500 value of the destination recipient is not available on it's maibox
and that would be the cause of the NDR for most of the times. Some time as you said autocomplete cache would get corrupted on the client end but it is very rare.
How to convert NDR to x500 address format :
    http://msexchangeguru.com/2012/03/15/x500/
How to avoid getting such kind of NDR'S :
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/exchange-e-mail-addresses-and-the-outlook-address-cache/
In case if you don't want the users to use the autocomplete cache when composing the new emails :
In group policy we can use the  office templates to disable the below mentioned option.
1.use autocomplete to suggest the names ---> this option will comes under the advanced settings on the outlook client.
In case if you don't want the users to use the autocomplete cache when composing the new emails as well as if you wanted to delete that autocomplete then you need to choose one more option along with the first one.
    1.Empty autocomplete cache.
Please reply me if anyhitng is unclear.
    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham
