Weblogic 10.3 and commons-lang-2.4.jar

Dear All,
I made a web application. It uses some 3party libraries, they are in web-inf/lib directory:
WEB-INF
|-sun-web.xml
|-web.xml
|-weblogic.xml
WEB-INF/lib
|-commons-io-1.4.jar
|-commons-lang-2.4.jar
|-xbean.jar
My web application is running on Glassfish application server. When I tried to to deploy it to Weblogic 10.3 server I got follow error message:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.commons.lang.StringUtils.containsIgnoreCase(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)Z
     at hu.mol.eai.fileadapter.web.PollingTask.getJTAClass(PollingTask.java:589)
The reason of the exception: there is an older version of commons-lang library in classpath and the application server loaded this library on startup. I found library in /bea_10.3/modules/com.bea.core.apache.commons.lang_2.1.0.jar.
If I delete it and the newer version of library (commons-lang-2.4.jar) copy to the /bea_10.3/modules/ directory my web application is working.
I think this solution is a hacking, because I overwrite an original library of application server. I is not too nice solution for a big company environment where there is a support agreement with Weblogic partner.
Could you give me a good / nicer solution?
thank you, zappee

Thank you for your answer.
And what can I do if my war file is in an ear file?
Structure of my enterprise application:
*.ear
|-lib\commons-lang-2.4.jar
|-lib\....jar
|
|-FileAdapterWeb.war
|-FileAdapterCommons.jar
|-FileAdapterPlugins.jar
|-schema.jar
|- ...
I do not want to put commons-lang-2.4.jar into *.war and lib directory same time. The all components of my enterprise applications are going to use commons-lang-2.4.jar. For example: it uses FileAdapterWeb.war and FileAdapterPlugins.jar too.
Is there a solution for me?
thx, SoMa

    Hello,
    I have not seen this particular error before, but if you can re-build the EJB using Workshop 10.0 I bet it will fix your problem. The old Workshop is running an old version of appc which the 10.0 version of WLS is probably not expecting.

  • Jakarta Commons Lang 1.01 vs. 2.0?

    I looked through the newsgroup, but didn't see this question come up.
    Currently, the latest version of the Jakarta Commons Lang package is 2.0,
    though Kodo 3.2.4 includes 1.0.1. Are there any known problems or
    incompatibilities with using Lang 2.0 with Kodo 3.2.4? We'd like to only
    include the Lang 2.0 package in our application.
    Also, the link in the documentation (Appendix F) to the Jakarta pages are
    broken:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/collections.html should be
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/collections/
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/lang.html should be
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/lang/
    and
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/pool.html should be
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/pool/
    (basically, replace the .html with a /).
    ;ted

    There are no known incompatibilities, but in Kodo 3, we're actually
    repackaging all our open-source dependencies to get away from random
    appearances of incompatibilities.

  • Cluster and commons-logging jar LogConfigurationException

    Hi,
    My configuration:
    -OAS 10.1.3.1 on 2 machines with oracle cluster configuration (discovery).
    My app:
    -ear which includes simple ejb3 module with commons-logging-1.1.jar lib (Jakarta commons logging)
    -clustering and replication is configured (in orion-application.xml):
    <cluster allow-colocation="false">
         <replication-policy trigger="onSetAttribute" scope="allAttributes" />
         <flow-control-policy enabled="false" />
         <protocol>
              <peer>
                   <opmn-discovery />
              </peer>
         </protocol>
    </cluster>
    When I'm trying to deploy my application I always get an error during deployment:
    [19-Jun-2007 16:46:44] Initializing ClassLoader(s)
    [01-Jan-1970 01:00:00] Error deserializing return-value: org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException; nested exception is: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException
    It doesn't matter if I try to deploy it on one or both machines. The exception is always the same on each machine.
    When I get rid of clustering/replication configuration (from orion-application.xml or during deployment) application is deployed without any problem.
    Also when I remove commons-logging-1.1.jar application is deployed.
    I know that there is already apache.commons.logging 1.0.4 in OAS shared libraries by it's not selected in "Configure Class Loading" by default.
    I also tried use the same version (1.0.4) in my app - didn't help.
    I can also deploy without any problem war file or ear file with web module, which has commons-logging-1.1.jar. But not ejb!
    Any advice?
    Thanks

  • WebLogic 8.1 and Tomcat connection problem

    I am using Tomcat 4.0.6 for my JSPs and WebLogic for my EJBs.
    Everything worked fine under WebLogic 6.1 but I am trying
    to upgrade to WebLogic 8.1 and it is not working.
    I can also connect to WebLogic 8.1 from a standalone class
    but not using Tomcat. What is wrong?
    This is the basic code I am using to connect:
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable(4);
    ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"t3://localhost:7009");

    Object obj = ic.lookup("NsbInfoHome");
    NsbInfoHome home = ( NsbInfoHome) PortableRemoteObject.
    narrow(obj, NsbInfoHome.class);
    NsbInfo nsbInfo = home.create();
    NsbMemberPrimaryInfo info = nsbInfo.getMemberPrimaryInfo(1);

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi,
    I work under a sligthly different seeting like Dan used (Java Client instead of JSPs, but same context properties), but the problem is exactly the same: weblogic.rmi.internal.StubGenerator.getStubOnClient() results in a NullPointerException.
    What does this method actually do? I provided the weblogic.jar in the client's runtime environment; is it possible that the method asks for something else on the client side that I have to provide (only guessing...)
    PS: I found the error myself. Its the Eclipse 3.0 IDE that won't work together with the factory class of BEA for some obscure reason. Switching to another IDE solved the problem...

  • Jakarta Commons Lang

    Hi,
    I am using JSP and Mysql for my application. I have a form with textarea fields. When user clicks submit, the values entered, are stored into the database. Currently am not able to use escape characters such as "'" or " "" "..
    I have already download Jakarta Commons Lang jar file and have also updated my classpath. My problem is, how will I use this jar file with JSP to solve the problem.
    Pls Help,
    Aarushi

    What exactly is the problem?
    Saving the value to the database?
    Displaying the value back on the screen?
    How are you saving the value?
    Are you using a prepared statement with parameters or just concatenating together a SQL string?
    If the problem is that you need the user to be able to type ' and " into the textfields, then PreparedStatements should solve that issue.
    Cheers,
    evnafets

  • Commons lang problems

    Hi there!
    Sorry if I post this in the wrong section. But I was unsure of which to choose so I took the most general.
    To my problem. I want to use commons lang (http://commons.apache.org/lang/) but I cant make it work. I made a simple testclass to show you the problem:
    import org.apache.commons.lang.builder.ToStringBuilder;
    public class Person
      private String name;
      private int age;
      public Person(String name, int age)
        this.name = name;
        this.age = age;
      public String getName()
        return name;
      public void setName(String newName)
        this.name = newName;
      public int getAge()
        return age;
      public void setAge(int newAge)
        this.age = newAge;
      public String toString()
        return new ToStringBuilder(this)
          .append("name", name)
          .append("age", age)
          .toString();
      public static void main(String[] args)
        Person p = new Person("Peter", 23);
        System.out.println(p);
    }And this is the output from when I run it:
    *$ javac -classpath /usr/share/java/commons-lang.jar Person.java && java Person*
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/lang/builder/ToStringBuilder

    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: PersonI have also tried with:
    CLASSPATH="/usr/share/java/commons-lang.jar" javac Person.java && java Person

  • Apache commons-lang version in Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.0

    What is the Apache commons-lang version used in Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.0?
    I was using commons-lang-2.4 classes in writing an Identity service plugin and ran into an issue.

    Did you find a solution to this issue? We are having a similar issue trying to deploy a Paypal IPN on OAS 10.1.2.3. The IPN messages coming from Paypal appear to be attempting an SSLv2 handshake. In our case SSLv2 is disabled due to our security requirements so the connection is killed by our App Server. We have found that manually sending the IPN messages works correctly.

  • WebLogic Test Client,  throws java.lang.NoSuchMethodException

    In weblogic server 10.3, the  WebLogic Test Client,  throws java.lang.NoSuchMethodException for “any” soap fault message from the web  service.
    In Detail:
    Our web services uses JAX-WS spec and are deployed in WebLogic server 10.3.The web service ear file is generated using standard ant utility. We are using “WebLogic Test Client” available through WebLogic server administration console .The issue is, for “any” soap fault message from the web service, the test client generates “java.lang.NoSuchMethodException:” . The key point is we are creating this class. We are not using our own client. WebLogic Test Client 's service response section has the following stack trace.

    Thanks for your assistance. Here is the log from weblogic. You may find "xxx" and "yyy" terms. these are given to our specific project oriented names. If you need any further info please let me know. Again a brief about the issue. when the service returns a fault soap message, the server trying to set the error code in a class generated by it's own where the method is not avilable. this happens for all fault soap message. In case of right response from the service no issues. all are working fine.
    Note: Max 3000 characters are allowed to post. so truncating initial stack trace.

  • Weblogic 6.1 and JVM 1.4 on Solaris

    I know this combination is not officially supported, but I would like to be
    able to try it in a test system for comparative purposes.
    I saw a previous mail on this subject indicating it was possible (reproduced
    below). I tried creating the Solaris equivalent of the file as
    /usr/j2sdk1.4.0/jre/lib/security/login.config with the contents:
    ServerLoginModule {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.UnixLoginModule required debug=true;
    This made no difference to the output (also reproduced below)
    I have two questions:
    - Have I done something wrong (file owner/permissions?) or is there
    something else I need to do to make this work?
    - Is there anywhere else I can place this file - on the CLASSPATH perhaps -
    I tried this a bit but I didn't get anywhere.
    Thanks,.

    Hi
    It works for me on Suse Linux 7.2 & 7.3 with JDK
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b92)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-b92, mixed mode)
    This is my login configuration:
    #/usr/lib/jdk1.4/jre/lib/security > cat login.config
    ServerLoginModule {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.UnixLoginModule required debug=true;
    I had to pass the weblogic system password on the commandline
    (with -Dweblogic.management.password=$WLS_PW).
    The password in password.ini somehow didn't work ... (I was
    prompted for the guest password, was able to boot the server but
    had some weblogic.management.NoAccessRuntimeException later on.

    JVM
    is currently not supported by BEA
    let me know if it works.

    Weblogic 5.1 and 6.0 were not interoperable. Interoperability was

  • Weblogic 6.1 and Resin Problems

    I am having trouble with Weblogic 6.1 and Resin. I have a simple .jsp
              page that calls an entity bean I have created and deployed with
              Weblogic.
              The key aspects of the JSP are as follows:
                        Context jndiContext = new InitialContext();
                        Object ref = ic.lookup("java:comp/env/CustomerHomeRemote");
                        CustomerHomeRemote home = (CustomerHomeRemote)

  • I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Is Apple aware of this problem? No longer supported?

    My web page uses a Java Applet to allow my visitors to replay chess games; the Chess Viewer Deluxe applet was written by Nikolai Pilafov some time ago and has been working properly for some time (until recently). I don't monitor this part of my site regularly so I am not sure when it began to fail. On his web site [http://chesstuff.blogspot.com/2008/11/chess-viewer-deluxe.html] he has a link to check LiveConnect object functionality (which fails for OBJECT tags). His recommendation is to "seek platform specific support which might be available from the JRE developers for your platform".
    I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Until I checked the LiveConnect object functionality, I was unable to identify the source of the console error messages. This does seem to be the smoking gun.
    Is Apple aware of this problem? Are these classes no longer supported? Has anyone else had this problem? You can attempt to recreate the problem locally by going to my web page: http://donsmallidge.com/DonSmallidgeChess.html
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    I just went up to check the LiveConnect object functionality page AND IT WORKED THIS TIME! I must confess, this is very mysterious. I will do some more checking and reply here if I can determine why it is working now (and more importantly, why it didn't work before).

  • CF8 on Weblogic 10.0 and Apache

    I am trying to configure CF8 as an EAR file on Weblogic 10.0
    and configuring it with Apache webserver. The settings for Weblogic
    are made as mentioned in the configuration document and CF8 is
    working fine on Weblogic.
    Now for Apache connectivity, a connector is configured for
    Weblogic which handles *.cfm files requests as well.
    - The CFM files are kept in webserver and when I try to open
    a cfm file, the proxy is getting invoked but since Weblogic doesn't
    find the file URI it returns 404.
    - Please let me know how can the CFM files kept on Webserver
    be rendered using CF8 deployed on Weblogic
    Or there is a need for these files to be kept on the Weblogic
    Appserver only

    Sure. If you want to put a file example.cfm in a WAR file,
    put it in the
    root of the WAR. Your folder structure will look something
    like:
    WAR/
    WAR/example.cfm
    WAR/WEB-INF
    WAR/WEB-INF/web.xml
    WAR/WEB-INF/*
    WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion
    WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion/lib/
    etc.
    Then if you have a context root "/test" in your
    Application.xml you can
    reach your template through the URL
    http://server/test/example.cfm
    The best way to get a WAR (or EAR) file for deployment is to
    run the
    installer. It has the option to generate a WAR or EAR for
    you. Use that,
    then later unjar it to see how it looks internally.
