WebLogic 11g: Weblogic-Application-Version not taken into account
Hello,
I'm trying to set up Production Redeployment on my EAR, under WebLogic 10.3.6.
However, I can't figure out how to make Weblogic-Application-Version work in MANIFEST.MF
Here is my EAR structure:
MyApplication
--- APP-INF
--- --- lib
--- --- classes
--- META-INF
--- --- application.xml
--- --- weblogic-application.xml
--- --- MANIFEST.MF <- file I update
--- WebApp1
--- --- META-INF
--- --- --- MANIFEST.MF
--- --- WEB-INF
--- --- --- classes
--- --- --- lib
--- --- --- web.xml
--- --- --- weblogic.xml
--- WebApp2
--- --- same as WebApp1
MANIFEST.MF content is the following:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Weblogic-Application-Version: VERSION_1
The problem is that it's not taken into account when I deploy the application in the WebLogic console.
When I use staged mode, the line Weblogic-Application-Version: VERSION_1 is removed from the staged MANIFEST.MF file.
The only way to manage to version my application is to add the flag -appversion to weblogic.Deployer, but I don't want to use that on a Production environment (and it's not recommended in the documentation!).
Any idea why Weblogic-Application-Version not taken into account? I tried to add debug mode to node weblogic/debug but with no success.
Thanks by advance,
JulienI tested it at my end and was able to redeploy it successfully with the application versions.
Are you saying that by deploying through weblogic console, the archive version is not honoring/getting picked up .is that correct?
if yes, what does your weblogic console shows for archive version, when you first try to deploy your application with the VERSION_1.
I mean, when you are on the "Optional Settings" Page.Do you see the Archive Version as VERSION_1?
Deployments >> Click on the Install >> select your application ( MyAPP)>> Install this deployment as an application >> Select deployment targets >> Optional Settngs
Example from the Optional settings Page for My application
What do you want to name this deployment?
Name: MyAPP
Archive Version:
VERSION_1
This can confirm that the application being deployed is versioned one and if it doesn't shows up,then you need to check why its not getting picked up.?
Moreover,You can enable the "deploy" debug flag to see whats going wrong in your case during the deployment process
Server > Debug > Weblogic > Deploy
Do refer the below viewlet on the Production Redeployment

How can I tell my current Weblogic server version and Service pack
Hello,
I was wondering how can I tell what my current
weblogic server version is and what service pack
it is at.
Thanks.use 'java weblogic.version'
ensure weblogic.jar is in the classpath -
Find my WebLogic Server version ?
Iam very new to Oracle..I wsh to install the Oracle11g Forms & reports.... as I know, to install the Oracle11g Forms & reports I need to install the weblogic server....
My clarifications are following....
01). I have a desktop pc with higher configuration...Is it possible to install ?
02). If it's possible means, I downloaded for forms & Reports installation file ..... win_11.1.2.1.0_32_disk1 file
But does anybody can provide me the appropriate Weblogic Server version for that?.....
ThanksHi,
It will depend on the OS version, JDK version used. Also might differ based on system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
For Oracle 11g forms & reports (11.1.2.1.0) on Windows 7 with 32-bit, Oracle weblogic server 10.3.6+ will work.
Refer to - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-111210certmatrix-1886127.xls for the correct version.

Where get weblogic.jar version 8.1 or 9.2?
I need to get weblogic.jar version 8.1 or 9.2 to use with Hermes because 10.3 apparently does not have class weblogic/security/subject/AbstractSubject... I failed finding it on the net...
Thank you
LeonardI've got the exakt same problem using weblogic.Deployer .... -appversion, weblogic 10.0 in this case. Works fine with our new jaxws based webservices.
Would be nice if this problem was solved, especially since weblogic10 resolves softlinks so our old method of linking to new versions doesn't work anymore. And the fact that "Changing the source location is not allowed for a previously attempted deployment" doesn't help either. -
Mbean ApplicationRuntime & WebLogic-Application-Version
Hi
I'm trying to use the functionality WebLogic-Application-Version inside the manifest file. I can't find the mbean ApplicationRuntime when I using this functionality. I'm using this search string *:Name=Krump-eA#Langeland-0-58,Type=ApplicationRuntime,* when I'm trying to look it up.
I have no problem finding the mbean when NOT using WebLogic-Application-Version functionality. Is the ApplicationRuntime located a different place when using WebLogic-Application-Version in manifest file. Any ideas why this isn't working?
This is on a weblogic 10.3.3
Thanks in advancedHi
I found the problem. ApplicationRuntime doesn't use # as a seperator but a _ instead. So the correct search string would be :Name=Krump-eA_Langeland-0-58,Type=ApplicationRuntime, -
Weblogic 10.3 & AIX -- Compilation of JSP File Failed!!!!
Hi,
We try to deploy an war to the weblogic 10.3 server. Error happed under AIX.
The War can be deployed successfully but JSP compile under AIX? I verify that Solaris 9&10, Red hat, HP IA, the war works well after deployed.
Is there any special setting for AIX? Both 5.3 and 6.1 have the problem.

This code works on WLS 10.0 MP 1 on Windows but not on AIX.
I've tried the suggested fix to add a library reference in the weblogic xml without success.
Has anyone discovered a fix for this yet? -
Weblogic Server version with ADF runtime
Expert,
May I know which the latest version of Weblogic Server can support ADF runtime? Thanks!
Rgds! No, there is no support for 12c jet. You have to wait for this till next year. There will be at least one more 11.1.1.x and 11.1.2.x version before we get 12c with ADF support.
I'll try to keep the list up to date (which it is right now).

Can't change file realm on WEblogic demo version
Is that true that demo version of Weblogic 6.0 doesn't support diffrent
types of realmsThere is no dufference between the evaluation version and the one you buy.
They both support only one custom realm per app server instance.
