WebLogic Server 10.3.4 external config files

Hey,
i have a question. I have external configuration files, and i dont know where to place, or better how to add the path where the configurations files located to WebLogic Servers classpath ?
I worked with JBOSS and there i added some lines in the start script. In glassfish there i can make it via administration gui.
The files are *.cfg files and the error output is this:
PATH_INSTANCIA:
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [nullCONFIG.cfg].
java.io.FileNotFoundException: nullCONFIG.cfg (No such file or directory)

Hi Jack,
You will have to add the folder where the config file is present to the WLS classpath. Modify the CLASSPATH in setDomainEnv.cmd/setDomainEnv.sh (Take a backup of these files - just in case :) ) to include the config file folder path.
And restart the server and WLS should be able to pick the file.
In your code you can have the line as follows
Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource("filename")As you have already added the folder to the classpath, it will be able to get the reference to the file.

Can anyone let me know how I can access an External LDAP configured on a weblogic server using OPSS APIs( or alternative APIs).
I'm currently using the below snippet and I'm getting only the Users and groups from the DefaultAutheticator on the weblogic server and not the external LDAP Server.
I've verified the providers, users and groups on the weblogic server console and can see that external LDAP server content is being picked, but my below code does not query them.

How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

Hello Everyone
I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
(1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.

i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
(2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...

After deploying the TestServletWAR.war file on the weblogic 7.0, i tried to execute the servlet from the browser by the following URL
http://localhost:7001/myServletWAR/myHello
I am getting the HTTP 404 Error, which is an indication that weblogic was unable to find the resourse, which it was requested for. Can anybody plz tell me what i m doing worng?? do i need to use weblogic related xml file (i.e weblogic.xml) also along with web.xml. If yes, then what all i need to include that. I m not very sure. A sample weblogic.xml file for this HelloWorld example will help me a lot.

Help need in Adding External jar files.

Hi all,
Iam developing ADF application using JDEV 11.1.1.3.0.
I need to move files from one directory to another so i have used external jar "commons-io-1.4.jar" file.
i did this by going to the project properties -->Libraries and Classpath -->Add Library
added the jat file.
In java class i have used the function
File.copyFileToDirectory(reQueueFile, TargetLocation,false);
it was working fine when i tried in IntegratedWeblogic server but when i deploy in Standalone Weblogic server its not getting the jar file.
Its throwing me the exception

First you should check that the library has the checkbox 'Deploy by default' is checked for your library.
The you open the project properties of the view controller project, select Deployments, edit the deployment descriptor. Select the Node 'File Groups'->'WEB-INF/lib'->'Contributors'. this should give you a list of libraries your project uses. Check if your library has the checkbox checked (is selected fro deployment). If it's not checked, set it.
This should include the library.

Sorry for late response.
1) Check PRE_CLASSPATH in setDomainEvn file. I installed the Webcenter Sites in Windows 7 and in my case the PRE_CLASSPATH is (SET PRE_CLASSPATH=D:\OPT\Middleware1\user_projects\domains\csDomain\CS\WEB-INF\lib\commons-lang-2.4.jar %PRE_CLASSPATH%).
2) In case of CAS deployment, Weblogic Server is trying to access cas file that is located in <Sites installation directory/bin> and the above issue is occur because of permission issue in windows 7. Right click the bin folder that is located in Sites installation directory, De-select Read only check and set all permission in Security tab. After that Restart Weblogic Server and try again to deploy CAS.

PL/SQL Web Service fails when deployed to WebLogic server

I have a web service generated via JDeveloper from a PL/SQL package. It runs fine both when tested in JDeveloper and when the WAR file is manually deployed to the Integrated WebLogic Server. However, when the WAR file is deployed to our actual WebLogic server, it fails. Other existing web services that were not generated with the JDeveloper wizard work correctly. I am having trouble finding any references to this type of issue to solve it. Are there any ideas what might be causing the WSDL to fail?

Weblogic server - deploy application

Web application has been successfully build in Jdeveloper 11g .
Also i am create new domain and web logic server are running.
What i need is instruction how to deploy this app on that weblogic server, i am not sure which files i need to instal

Are you asking how to deploy it from within JDeveloper? This would be better asked in the forum that focuses on JDeveloper. I don't know the exact link for it, but I think it's in the "Tools" category.
If you're asking how to deploy the constructed WAR or EAR file outside of JDeveloper, then I would suggest this:
1. Follow the instructions in JDeveloper to export or construct a WAR or EAR file that is saved to disk. I have no idea how to do that. If you don't know, ask in the JDeveloper forum.
2. Log into the admin console for the domain you want to deploy the application to.
3. Click on "Deployments" and follow the instructions for installing a new application.
(There are other details of the process, but that's the basic idea.)

Installing Weblogic Server 10.3.3.0

Currenty I have SOA Suite 11g R1 (11.1.1.2.0) and Weblogic Server 10.3.2.0 installed. I want to apply patchset 11.1.1.3.0 on top of 11.1.1.2.0. But there is a prerequisite of having Weblogic 10.3.3.0 first before we can apply patchset 11.1.1.3.0
My question is how do I install/upgrade Weblogic Server 10.3.3.0
I have downloaded the Weblogic Server 10.3.3.0 zip file wls1033_dev.zip. But I couldn't find any Installer file or Setup.exe file. All it has is configure.cmd file.
Do we need to apply patch to upgrade it ? I had read somewhere that it could be done using Smart Update utility. For that we need to have Metalink account.
Your help/inputs will be much appreciated.

Hi blueocean,
While looking for a setup.exe you may have stumbled over a README.txt in the root directory. It clearly explains the steps to install the app server. But that's old news because you managed to do this another way, so that's great.
However I ran into another issue when I tried to apply the SOA suite patchset 11.1.1.3.0 on top of 11.1.1.2.0. It did not recognize my Weblogic installation (from the ZIP distribution) as a 10.3.3 version, and therefore the setup wizard refused to continue. I'm now trying the full install and see if that resolves my issues.
Regarding the warning that comes with the ZIP distribution: I maybe just a simple guy, but in my opinion I was just installing this locally for development purposes. Unfortunately this warning is not very informative of the limitations...

Update: I finally managed to get Oracle DB XE, WLS 10.3.3, SOA suite 11g and JDev 11g working together, by using the full installation of WLS as mentioned above.

Problem downloading WebLogic Server 8

I am having problems downloadingl the eval copy of Weblogic server 8. The'Specify
Download Options' page in the Weblogic installer doesnt request proxy server authentication
information (userid, password). Is there a way to work around this issue and successfully
download the software.

Well, perhaps one thing you've forgotten is that it's better to write notes
about particular problems in the newsgroup or mailing list that is most
appropriate to the problem. If people who read this newsgroup only know about
the webserver, then they won't have any idea how to help you with installation
problems with WebLogic server, which this clearly is (the "webserver" is not
"WebLogic Server", but only part of the entire package).
Have you made an attempt to contact BEA support? It seems likely that your zip
file is corrupt.

Problem installing weblogic server 8.11

I have a problem while installing weblogic server 8.11 on a solaris 9 machine.
I use the following instruction: ./filename.bin and I see the following message:
Illegal instruction (memory dumped)
(in french: instruction incorrecte (vidage memoire))
A core file is generated but it doesn't help resolving this problem. It seems
to be talking about unzip, as I found things like this message in this file:
error: cannot allocate unzip buffers
unzipsfx: cannot find myself! [%s]
error [%s]: missing %ld bytes in zipfile
I also tryed to install weblogic server 8.10 and no core file is generated but
I have the following message:
error [export/home/tleberre/net_server810_solaris32.bin]: missing 570 byes in

I first thought the file I downloaded was incomplete, so I downloaded it again
but I still have the same problem. Can anyone help me? What have I forgotten to

Weblogic Server 8.1.6 nodemanager log rotation

Hi,
Does anybody know how to setup Weblogic server 8.1.6 nodemanager log file rotation?
I want to setup the log file rotation by size, the maximum log file size is 10M, 3 files for rotation; like the log4j log files.
What and how to set the nodemanager properties to achive this?

can you use the following debug flags in the weblogic server as java_options and paste the complete ssl handshake exception here.

I have 2 weblogic startup scripts (startWebLogic.sh and
startWebLogic_recovery.sh) for the same domain.
startWebLogic.sh uses config.xml file.
I would like to use config_recovery.xml as the configuration file for startWebLogic_recovery.sh
How would I do this ?
I am using WebLogic Server 6.1 on SunOS 5.8 / HP-UX 11.0.

Hello Gunaseelan,
This is not possible because WLS 6.1 needs a config.xml file, exactly this
name, to start.
What you can do is to define a recovery domain, called myrecovery_domain for
instance, and put the config_recovery.xml, renamed "config.xml".

I guess you're using Weblogic 6.1 with WLCS 3.5. I think you're supposed to work with one config.xml for the same domain, and not have a different config.xml.
To start up different applications or EJBs, use the "target" property to control which applications to start up for the particular instance.

Configuring file realm in weblogic server 9.2

I am trying to upgrade my application from weblogic 6.1 to weblogic 9.2 and I am using compatibility security.
I have configured a RDBMS realm and then configured the caching realm giving that RDBMS realm as its Base realm.
Now since caching realm works with file realm. I have to configure this also. Now on click of file realm tab in weblogic 9.2 throws the following error.

You may still need to define the role in the weblogic.xml file in order for deployment descriptor-based role definition to work (alternatively you could use the WebLogic Server console to define the role and policy).
You can specify your role "testrole" as "externally-defined" as opposed to mapping it to specific principals.
