Weblogic server 9.2 support for WS-Transaction

Hi,
          Does Weblogic Server9.2 support WS-Transaction 1.1 ? The WL Server data sheet is not specific about the details of compliance. I am trying to find out if there is support for WS-Coordination, WS-Atomic Transaction and WS-Business Activity in Weblogic Server.
          We need to use the Aqualogic Service Bus 2.6 is a distributed WebService Transaction.

As I know, the answer is "no".

    I am getting the following error when attempting to INSERT the results of an "EXEC(@MDXQuery) at SSAS LinkedServer":
    The requested operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" for linked server does not support the required transaction interface.
    Here is code that illustrates what I am doing:
    DECLARE @MDX varchar(max);
    SET @MDX='
    SELECT
    [Measures].[Extended Service Count]
    } ON COLUMNS,
    NON EMPTY [Organization].[By Manufacturer].[Manufacturer]
    ON ROWS
    FROM (
    SELECT
    {[Organization].[Org Tree].&[2025],[Organization].[Org Tree].&[2040]} ON 0
    FROM [MyCube]
    /* Test 1 */
    EXECUTE(@MDX) at SSASLinkedServer;
    /* Test 2 */
    DECLARE @ResultsB TABLE (
    Manufacturer varchar(255)
    , ExtendedServiceCount float
    INSERT INTO @ResultsB (Manufacturer, ExtendedServiceCount) EXECUTE(@MDX) at SSASLinkedServer;
    Test 1 succeeds, returning expected results, and Test 2 fails returning the error mentioned above.
    Other articles I've found so far don't seem to apply to my case.  I am not creating any explicit transactions in my code.   When I use OPENQUERY, I am able to do the insert just fine, but not when I use EXEC @MDX at LinkedServer.
    Unfortunately in some variations of the query, I run into the 8800 character limit on OPENQUERY, so I need to use this other approach.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Tab,
    In this case, SQL Server Analysis Services doesn’t support Distributed Transactions by design. Here is a similar thread about this issue for your reference, please see:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8b07be45-01b6-49d4-b773-9f441c0e44c9/olaplinked-server-error-msolap-for-linked-server-olaplinked-server-does-not-support-the?forum=sqlanalysisservices
    One workaround is that use SQLCMD to execute the EXEC AT command and saved the results to a file, then import using SSIS.

  • Support for Bourgogne Transaction Interface

    Does the Weblogic Server support the transaction extension of EJB Transactions?
    Since Bourgogne introduce new transactional primitives allowing to establish flow control dependencies between transactions, to delegate bean objects from a ransaction to another transaction, and to give permissions to access bean objects locked by a transaction.

    No, there is no support for this transaction model in WebLogic.

  • SP1 to R2 Upgrade - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database

    Hello,
    Am trying to upgrade a SCOM SP1 environment to SCOM R2( 3 MGT servers, 1 GW and 2 Web console boxes )
    The prerequisites are failing and it is stating the following ;
    Operational Database SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database
    Data Warehouse  SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the data warehouse
    The SQL servers are running SQL 2012 SP1 64 Enterprise, which is compatible.
    All other pre-upgrade tasks have been done.
    Help appreciated!

    I'm having the exact same issue, I believe. I think that Tubble has problem with SCOM 2012. Not 2007.
    I've checked the compatibility list for both SCOM 2012 SP1 and R2. All newer Windows Server and SQL versions are supported. We're running the SQL 2012 SP1 x64 Standard edition on a Windows Server 2012 Standard.
    I even tried to move the database from SQL 2012 to an older SQL 2008 R2, but that's not supported either. Only upgrading. Not downgrading.
    So, I started checking the opsMgrSetupWizard.log file for clues. And the error message was there as well. But the reason why it says not supported is that it can't get the info about the OS version, so I guess it assumes the OS version is to low. The RPC
    service can not be reached.

    So, in our case this was just a FW that was blocking some high ports between management server and SQL. I believe TCP port 135 also needs to be open.
    Let's hope this fixes your issue as well, Tubble.
    Have a great day!

  • WebLogic 8.1 SP4 support for 10g R2

    Hi,
    We are looking to upgrade Oracle Server 8i to the latest version ie. 10g R2. We are running Weblogic 8.1 SP4. On BEA's site the product documentation doesn't specify the 10g R2 support, instead only list support for 9.2.0 and later versions for SP4. Has anyone tried running WL 8.1 SP4 with Oracle 10g R2. We are not looking to upgrade to RAC version of this.
    Thanks.

    This is targeted by coming June.

  • Oracle Weblogic server and OSGi support

    I am working on OSGi implementations (Equinox/Apache Felix), application is full Spring MVC based, using Spring DM(Latest versions Gemini Blueprint and Eclipse Virgo) to deploy bundles. I couldn't able to deploy Web application as an OSGi bundle. It is not recognizing web bundles.
    Regarding this I have some questions below:
    1. Does Weblogic server 10.3.3 supports OSGi bundles and specifically OSGi specifications.
    2. If it supports OSGi bundles, then what is the way to do it? I haven't got anything regarding this.
    3. Does Weblogic Server has compatibility with Eclipse Virgo or Gemini blueprint, so that we can deploy OSGi bundles using Virgo or Gemini Blueprint.
    4. Which versions of weblogic server supports OSGi implementations?
    Any help or reference code regrading this would be of great help.
    Regards
    Rahul

    Yes, since the release 10.3.4 the product called Weblogic Server provides features of both "BEA WLS" and "Oracle AS" (namely, support for Forms and Reports, ADF, etc.)
    Existing customers of Oracle AS may upgrade to Weblogic Server to get its benefits (for instance, JRockIt JVM). For new ones, Oracle AS should no longer be offered.
    Btw. this is not a good forum for such kind of questions. You should use these: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=193

    Hi, I require weblogic server v10.3.2 to install on linux 64bit machine. I tried hard but couldn't find this installer on Oracle site for download. Where can I get this version10.3.2 of weblogic server?

    Probably only available through Oracle support, try contacting them. The oldest still downloadable version from OTN is 10.3.3

  • Is WebLogic Server 10.3.6 for Windows 7 64-bit??

    Hey,
    I have a question for you. I'm on Windows 2008 R2 Xeon 64 bit. I've downloaded and installed both SunJDK and JRockit JDK to use the 64bit Weblogic generic installer:
    find default java version..
    cd c:\
    java -version
    java version "1.6.0_31"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode)
    just to make sure...
    cd C:\Program Files\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.2-4.1.0
    C:\Program Files\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.2-4.1.0>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_31"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode)
    Install 64-bit WLS
    SET JAVA_HOME="C:\Program Files\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.2-4.1.0"
    cd \OracleBinaries
    %JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -jar wls1036_generic.jar -mode=GUI -log=logs\Wls1036Install.log
    installs w/o a hitch.
    but i go to install ofm_idm_win_11.1.1.6.0_64_disk1_1of1 and it gets to the Domain Creation screen and then reports:
    INST-07408, unable to install product on a 32 bit JVM on a 64 bit machine.
    So, i'm thinking that despite my best efforts, the 1036 version of WLS is not 64bit. What do you think?
    Kevin

    You can check the %WL_HOME%\common\bin\commEnv.cmd, make sure the following contents are.
    @rem Choose proper WebLogic jni libraries
    set WL_USE_X86DLL= false
    set WL_USE_IA64DLL= false
    set WL_USE_AMD64DLL= true
    or you can also start a weblogic server, and from the %Domain_Name%\servers\%Weblogic Server Name%\logs\%Weblogic Server Name%.log file, find the "sun.arch.data.model", the value should be 64.
    By the way , the weblogic server itself doesn't have 32-bit or 64-bit, it just a weblogic.Server class instance running on jvm , the weblogic server isn't a pure-java java ee application server, and there are much java code and some native library, such as weblogic native io library, nodemanager native library, stackdump native library and so on.
