Weblogic Server abort suddenly

Hi,
We experienced spontaneous weblogic server abortions. The system configuration is as follows:
Microsoft Windows Advanced Server 2000
Weblogic Server 8.1.0 (in production mode)
SUN JDK 1.4.1_02
The symptom is that Weblogic server exits without printing any exception and error message.
(i.e., no out of memory error, no I/O exception etc.) It looks as if the JVM exits normally.
It is sure that the deployed application does not make an exit() call.
What would be the cause of certain abortion?
Thanks

See case #188305. There is not a whole lot of information there and we really don't like to reproduce this.
If it happens again we will add more info to the case. In the log file we have seen 'class not found' for
weblogic.utils.... classes before it shuts down. Boot it again under no load and it comes up fine.

What version of WLS, SP-level? what 's the avg load that you are putting on WLS? Is it in a clustered environment? what
the min/max heap size, executeThreadCount etc...
Any other details that you can provide us would be helpful for us to debug further.

We have seen this as well when load testing. It's hard to ignore the WL server shutting down by itself for no reason.

  • Problem when I starting Weblogic Server Under Eclipse Suddenly Stop

    Hi everyone:
I've a problem, I'm working with IDE Eclipse 3.2 and weblogic server 8.1 I need to debug the application, when I'm trying to start the server and everything look fine and almost at the end suddenly the server stop with this message:
    Stopping Weblogic Server...
Failed to connect to t3://localhost:7001: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused; No available router to destination
    please I need Help.
    Thanks in advance

i still haven't found a solution to the problem with the specific setup i originally mentioned (wls 9.0, eclipse 3.2 on solaris/sparc). even after upgrading to wls 9.2, the exact same bug occurs.
in the end, i just gave up on the standalone eclipse 3.2 and started using workshop for weblogic 9.2 that comes bundled with the wls 9.2 installation; and the problem does not occur with that setup.
wl workshop 9.2 is based on eclipse 3.1. so if you want to use regular eclipse with regular wls, then maybe eclipse 3.1 is the most stable version to use with wls. hth.

    Hi,
    Few comments here...
    1) Seems your environment is not setup correctly but that is not the big cause here.....
    2) This one is important, it seems that you installed weblogic using a different account and are trying to run it from a different account.
So the account with which you are trying to run weblogic does not have proper permission on
    MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso
Right click on the file and go in properties ..
Enable full control, modify,Read and execute, read and write permissions for the user you are trying to start weblogic and apply it.
if this simple steps doesnt work, please enable more logging by adding "-Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy" to startup option and grab more details.
Good Luck let me know if this works.

  • Application Migration from JBOSS to Weblogic Server

    Hi,
I am facing lots of issues while deploying an .ear file on Weblogic server. In the JBOSS server the application is working properly but whenever I am trying to deploy it on Weblogic server its throwing me an error stating :
"ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted. "

    Hi,
It seems that one of your EJB is trying to access remote JVM using TCP protocol make sure to keep tunneling on your AdminServer and restart one more time.
But still I doubt because it should look into different protocol.
But you can try to enable it.
you will find them under Server >> AdminServer >> Protocol.......

  • Deploying Java stand alone application in Weblogic server

    Hi All,
We have an java stand alone application which our client uses. Suddenly they came up with a requirement of using this application from web logic server. We have following directory structure for our application
    myapp
    - config -> contains all configuration files
    - logs -> contains log files
    - ssl -> ssl related files
    - samples ->contians stub's
    - myapp.jar
How to deploy our standalone application in to weblogic server?.
We tried putting whole myapp folder in WEB-INF folder , and from the servlet we are able to invoke an method in an class file( in myapp.jar say Test.getInstance()) but it couldnt find configuration files (in config folder ) and it is throwing an error. We have a class called Test in myapp.jar and when we call getInstance of the class it loads all config files - config file location is hardcoded as /config/myconfig.xml , and we are facing problem here because it couldnt find myconfig.xml.
We also tried packaging whole myapp folder in to jar , but with that also we faced the same problem
Please let us know are we proceeding in the right way and how to deploy our application in weblogic server. We dont prefer making changes to our code at this point of time.
Any info on this will be very helpful to us.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi René van Wijk,
Thanks for quick reply. Link you mentioned gave a basic idea of application structure , but still i couldnt get deployment process.
Am very much new to weblogic. Can you please let me know how to deploy our standalone application in to weblogic, with out making any changes to the code.
Below is folder structure of my java stand alone application *( not webapplication)*
    myapp
    - config -> contains all configuration files , for ex:- myconfig.xml
    - logs -> contains log files
    - ssl -> ssl related files
    - samples ->contians stub's
    - myapp.jar
We have logic to load configuration file (config/myconfig.xml) , in an class and we are not allowed to make any changes to this code, so we cant use Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource(...) .
    Regards,
    Suresh

  • Weblogic 8.1 suddenly failing to start at the 1536MB level

We are running WebLogic Server 8.1 SP5 on Windows Server 2003 SP2. We have been running weblogic for a long time with a memory allocation of 1.5GB (1536MB). But all of a sudden, it wouldn't start giving the following error.
"Error occured during initialization of VM. Could not reserve enough space for object heap"
But if I drop the startup memory parameter to "-Xms968m -Xmx968m" it comes up successfully. Basically I tried through different numbers and then found out that it craps out beyond the 968MB level. As you can see below the server has enough memory. Does anybody have a solution to this?
Server and startup configurations are below:
    WebLogic Server 8.1 SP5
    Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Server memory - 3GB
    Server virtual memory - 2GB
    running on vmware ESX
weblogic gets started through Windows services with the following startup parameters:
    -server -Xms1536m -Xmx1536m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -XX:SurvivorRatio=4 -verbosegc -XX:+PrintGCDetails -classpath "........."
    -Dweblogic.Name=myserver -Dweblogic.management.username= -Dweblogic.ProductionModeEnabled= -Djava.security.policy="C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic.policy" weblogic.Server

Does Window Task manger report enough available physical memory before you attempt to start server ?

  • WebLogic Server Template builder(config_builder.sh) crashes JRocket JVM

Hi, I am trying to create a new template from my working OSB/WLS(10.3.4) env. Every time I run it after 3-4 screens the JRocket JVM crashes with core dump. Following is my error message that I see in the console.
    pbora@pbora-lap:~/myinstalls/unixtools/devtools/oracle/middleware_10340$ *./wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config_builder.sh*

    Hi Prantor,
Please check in your profile that by any chance Mistakenly you have set the following value in your user profile at OS level:
    export AWT_TOOLKIT="MToolkit"
Above option creates issues with the Java GUIs.....*As an alternative you can start your builder tool in console mode (Non_GUI) mode.*
Also please refer to : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1475842
The main reason of JRockit Crash is in the following lines of your error:

  • Stop of Weblogic Server- WLS_Forms !

    Hi all,
    I m working on Forms/reports 11gr2 64-bit with Weblogic Server 10.3.6.
    To stop of Weblogic Server - WSL_Forms/Reports, it has two option;
    1. Stop Weblogic Server - WLS_FORMS    (option under Classic Instance/Form Services)., which asks for username & password, process successfully without
any error/message, but actually Forms are not stopped, what does it mean. So I use second option.
    2. Close button of Start Weblogic Server - WLS_FORMS window, which doesn't ask for username & password and suddenly stops it.
    (same in case of REPORTS)
Is there any difference and which option is better ?
    Thanks.
    TekMilan.

    Hi Roberto!
First thing is that I want to stop my managed weblogic server.
    Secondly,I have two options to stop my WLS_FORMS or WLS_REPORTS;
    1. No, path is $WLHOME/domains/ClassicDomain/bin/stopManagedWebLogic.cmd.
it runs successfully, but doesn't stop my FORMS.
    2. Yes, Windows (of above script) menu option  to stop WLS_Forms.
it stops FORMS suddenly & successfully without asking for username/password ?
I m using 2. option successfully without any problem.
    I want to know about the followings;
    -- Is 2.option is ok ?
-- Why FORMS are now stopped by above 1. option ?
    Thanks/Regards.

  • Admin can't apply any type of changes because a single weblogic server

When I try to modify/create "anything" in the admin console of weblogic and I try to apply the changes I am getting this error:
"*An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.*
*Message icon - Error [Management:141191]The prepare phase of the configuration update failed with an exception:*
*Message icon - Error Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl not found*"
I found a workaround, but not the solution yet.
It seems the problem is caused by a single weblogic server from the domain, if its clustered then from both weblogic servers, or as many as there are.
The workaround is to search in all the weblogic server in its logs to see which one is reporting this same error when I try to apply the changes. You shut down those servers and suddenly the admin server can apply the changes no problem, then you can re-start the offending weblogic server/s.
    My questions are:
    * Anyone knows how can I know what is deployed or not in a single weblogic server can affect the admin to apply any changes, including anything not related to the weblogic server that is causing the problem?
    * How come is this affecting the admin to apply any changes not related at all with what's in this weblogic server?
    * Why if I shutdown the weblogic servers I can apply the changes and then the offending weblogic servers will start again correctly?
Is there an effective solution? Since in production environment I can't just go shutting down servers when I need to apply changes through the admin server.
    Scenario:
WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0 generic install
    jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.0-4.1.0
    Linux x64
    Any help/tips will be apreciated.

    I found the answer:
".apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImp" is a document builder factory that is specific for JDK 1.4 and will not work on JDK 1.6, which causes the issue".
It seems the offending webserver as this object in one of their applications which is causing this issue.

  • Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g

    Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
    Thanks
    Gavin

Are the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?
