WebLogic Server clusters not high available!!

I'm working with WebLogic Server 6.0.
I try to connect to cluster using explicit IP addresses.
For this case, first ,I cluster server A,B and C ,then client try to look up home
          interface at server A.
After server A return home reference ,client creates EJB object and calls method
          using that reference .
If server A fail, it still working with others server ,B and C.
But if new client try to find home reference at server A ,he can't.
This situation means that WebLogic Server cluster is not high availability or
I did something wrong with configuration?
And if I missed something ,how can I fix it?
          Thanks for your attention.

Hi King,
If you look up at a non-existent IP/port, then it will not respond. That is
          expected behavior.
You should not be using an explicit IP like that. At least use DNS round
          robin.

  • How to use wlappc on a build machine where weblogic server is not installed

    All,
We have a build environment where Weblogic server is not installed. We are currently moving from WL8 to WL10 but because of the relative paths in the weblogic.jar for version 10 I cannot figure out what jars I need in order to use the compile utilities without actually having to have the entire WL10 Application server installed on my build machine.
In WL8 we just needed the Weblogic.jar, webservices.jar, and wlManagement.jar.
Now it seems we need wlfullclient.jar webservices.jar and the weblogic.jar and all the jars in the relative classpath for the weblogic.jar, which is a very long list.
Is this really so? Seems shortsighted on Bea's/Oracle's part if we now need to have a full installation of the application server just to use the compile utilities on our build machine.
Any help on what jars to include so as to use wlappc or wlcompile on a build machine where weblogic 10 server is not installed would be appreciated.
    Todd Flora

I no longer need help with this, as I have determined to load weblogic on our build machine.

  • The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.

    Hi Everybody,
I am quite new in BEA product, actually with weblogic integration. I get an issue when I tried to start Weblogic integration.
I used Weblogic integration 8.5 on my Windows box and JDK 1.4.
When I tried to start it I get the folowing error:

Do you have some idea why I get this error while starting the server?
    Thank you in advance!

First you can start witht he example server, after installation go to start menu --> example--> launch the examples. which will create a sample domain and brings up the server etc., If you want your own domain, using configuration wizard create a domain(follow the steps mentioned in edocs.bea.com) and bring up the server.

    Nice to help me.
We observe the server start up log. We did all that you suggested.
Still I am not able to start the production server. As we get very lesser chance to RND on production server.
The new problem is now  , when we start the server, its hangs, and did not start.

  • Weblogic Server is not reachable

    Hi Guys,
we use a Weblogic Server 4.5.1 SP8 on Solaris 2.7 und JDK 1.2.1_04 and the
    performance pack.
In addition we use a Netscape Enterprise Server as a proxy with the nsapi
bridge. Sometime the Weblogic Server is not reachable over the T3 protocol.
In the access log of the NES we get timeout errors for Weblogic Server. We
used the weblogic.Admin class to ping the server at every minute. So we
could realize that the server was not reachable for about 5 minutes. After
that time the server worked normally. But during this time the server seemed
to be dead. There was no logging at all. Does anyone has an idea?
    Thanks in advance
    Lutz Strobel

Thanks a lot. It is restarted. Could you please elaborate the solution... this was related to some security right?

  • "Database on server is not currently available" after v12 Upgrade

I have two databases on a database server, for which I initiated the v12 update preview from the Preview Portal.  I had access to both databases last night, but now I'm receiving the following error (actual object names removed):
Database '[database]' on server '[server]' is not currently available.  Please retry the connection later.  If the problem persists, contact customer support, and provide them the session tracing ID of '{401C6B54-173C-43CB-A16F-2AD76D44ABEA}'.
     (Microsoft Server Server, Error: 40316).
I tried going through the support purchase plan, but received an error.  I'm reluctant to pay for support, as I'm just testing and it seems to be a technical problem on Azure's side.
I am a Bizspark member.  It's unclear to me whether this entitles me to a support plan outside of this forum.

    Hi Makh,
This is still an issue.   Here's the latest tracing ID:
    4E50EE26-4260-43CB-9759-6787E31CD45E
I created a second server and was able to create a database on that server that I'm able to connect to, but the server associated with this error is still unavailable.  I've tried specifying each of my two databases in the connection string, with no
    luck (same error).
    Thanks,
    Travis

    Any answers?????

    Hi,
I have a similar issue on ODSI 10gR3 (WLS 10.3). I am having stuck threads - but, in my case it is clear that the database is down (not at the startup)
    Here is some more info:
    1. Test Connections On Reserve - Enabled
    2. Default values for other parameters
Using Oracle thin driver for the connection pool "MyPool" -
    ./wlserver_10.3/server/lib/ojdbc6.jar
    My question is:
    1. How do I avoid the stuck thread caused when the database is down? During peak load, the stuck threads are causing some service requests to fail.
I did my homework and the closest option I could find is set the statementTimeout (which is set currently to the default value of -1 i.e. never timeout). Oracle documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/111070_readme.html) says that the ojdbc6.jar supports setQueryTimeout() method.
Is there any better way to attack this problem?

  • Weblogic server is not responding

Hi Friends, I installed weblogic server 10.3 on Rec Hat Linux 5.
My hardware configuration is 3 GB RAM , 150 GB hard drive, pentium 4 , DELL OPTIPLUX DX520.
    32 Bit OS.
I installed weblogic on this ,created a domain, and started the weblogic server. Created 2 machines and assgined nodemanagers. After that started nodemanager, and created 2 managed servers and added those managed servers to the machine , so that I can start them from console using the nodemanager.
Now I created 1 cluster, added the above mentioned managed server to this cluster.
The problem with the system is every 10 mins my admin console, stops working. (by the way i started the console on firefox), If we clcik any thing , the cursor shows waiting mode of the cursor ,but no response, then I need to kill the process and again need to restart the admin server, next , again restart the admin console and do the next 10 mins work after that again it stops, then again same process , killing the admin server's process and restart the server and again , do 10 mins work.
I am not able to understad , why it was happning to my server, every 10 mins I need to start the admin server again and again.
Am I doing any thing wrong , pelase advice, to sovle this problem.
    Thanks a lot
    Peter.

Hi Thanks a lot for your response,
    (1) I tried to take the thread dumps for admin server by fidning the PID and used the kill -3 command as well, but it is not giving any informartion.
    I gave as shown below
kill -3 <pid> > ./threads.txt but no use. It is creating file with '0' size.
(2)The below is the AdminServer.log file.

    Hi, Nodex,
    Avoid implicit conversions.
    For example:
    TO_CHAR(TRUNC(NEXT_DAY(ADD_MONTHS(substr(partition_name, -8, length(partition_name)), -3), 'MONDAY')-7), 'YYYYMMDD')ADD_MONTHS expects a DATE as its first argument.
    SUBSTR returns a VARCHAR2, so you're calling ADD_MONTHS with a VARCHAR2 where it expects a DATE.
For good or ill, the system tries to avoid raising an error in this case by implicitly converting the VARCHAR2 to a DATE. Exactly how it does that depends on
    (a) the tool you are using (SQL*Plus or Toad, for example),
    (b) the version (Oracle 10 behaved quite different form Oracle 9),
    (c) environmental settings (such as NLS_DATE_FORMAT), which in turn may depend on initialization parameneters, and
    (d) who knows what else.
When you have to convert, do so explicitly.
You can convert a VARCHAR2 to a DATE using TO_DATE, like this:
    TO_CHAR ( TRUNC ( NEXT_DAY ( ADD_MONTHS ( TO_DATE ( SUBSTR ( partition_name
                                                       , -8
                                          , LENGTH (partition_name)
                                     , 'YYYYMMDD'     -- or whatever
                             , -3
                      , 'MONDAY'
              - 7
         , 'YYYYMMDD'
         )

An error occurred while initializing the Embedded LDAP Server. If the problem is with the data files and it can not be corrected, backups of previous versions of the data files exist in /orcl/oracleBI/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap/backup.Looks like LDAP issue...do you have any external authentication setup ?? You can think investigation issue in that direction..Check the complete error code.

  • Why weblogic server does not activate changes after bounce?

    Hi All,
We are working with weblogic server 10.
When ever changes are made in console, saved and activated , everthing seems fine.
Once the server is bounced , last change which was made before bounce does not reflect in the console. All the changes before the last change looks good. Can someone please guide me in this?

Your changes should be written into your domain's config directory tree ( config/jdbc would hold the various jdbc pool definitions ).
Does your host / OS have some sort of delayed disk write?
Also, when you activate your change in the console, you should be able to see the changes in the config directory's files on the admin server's host
