We've configured in Weblogic to use JNDI: jdbc/TimesTen; we also configured the same in ADF BC layer to use JNDI: jbdc/TimesTen
What are we doing wrong ?
Any help is appreciated

I think what you have tried is:
a. Created a data source named "TimesTenDS" with the JNDI named "jdbc/TimesTenDS".
b. In the application while looking up for the connection, you might be doing a initial context look on the DS named "jdbc/TimesTenDS".
Is that correct?
If thats the case can you try the following:
a. Check whether the DS is properly targeted to an active WLS instance and whether you are able to monitor the connection pool of the same. Also try to enable the test table and test connection of reserve properties of the same to see in case you are facing any issue will requesting for a connection for recreating a connection pool.
b. Check whether you are getting the JNDI name "jdbc/TimesTenDS" in the JNDI tree of the target managed node, if not then there is any issue with the configuration, else things are fine till now.
c. While doing the look-up you might be giving the connection_url or by default the application might be doing a look-up on the local JVM (to which the application is targeted to) and the DS might not be there thus you can cross check the connection_url too.
HTH,
Cheers

  • Apache - Weblogic Connection Issue

    Hi
we are facing with Apache weblogic communication issues.
The communication with Apache and Weblogic works for some time ( few hrs), But after some time we get the below error.
Let us take one pair. (Apachedevv1 ----> Weblogicdevp1)
Yesterday evening it was working fine. Today morning I see the below error.
    http://Apachedevv1/
    Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
    Build date/time: Apr 20 2009 21:26:02
    Change Number: 1211636
Then I run the below command on Weblogicdevp1
    C:\> telnet Apachedevv1 80
This is success as the Apache is running on Apachedevv1:80
Now If I access the URL http://Apachedevv1/ it is success now and I get the weblogic home page.
Pls let us know if you had face this type of issue earlier.
Following are the lines added in httpd.conf of Apache.
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost Weblogicdevp1
    WebLogicPort 7001
    </IfModule>
    <Location />
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
I see the below errors in error.log of Apache.
[Wed Dec 29 09:10:59 2010] [error] [client xx.yy.49.39] ap_proxy: trying GET / at backend host 'xx.yy.86.54/7001; got exception 'CONNECTION_REFUSED [os error=0, line 1715 of ../nsapi/URL.cpp]: Error connecting to host xx.yy.86.54:7001'

[Wed Dec 29 09:11:07 2010] [error] [client xx.yy.49.39] ap_proxy: trying GET / at backend host 'xx.yy.86.54/7001; got exception 'CONNECTION_REFUSED [os error=0, line 1715 of ../nsapi/URL.cpp]: Error connecting to host xx.yy.86.54:7001'
    Thanks

The error means , there is no application server running on that port configured in apache that is 7001 at the time of issue.
One more thing you are doing telnet on 80 , but you should do telnet on 7001 and not on apache port.
So if you face the issue again, please do telnet on weblogic host like " telnet weblogicdevp1 7001".
It's not problem with apache version and weblogic plugin version.
You can integrate weblogic with apache using mod_proxy module also, pls refer the below link for more info:

  • Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 & WebLogic Strange Issue

    Hello,
I am running OIM 9.1.0.2 (new installation) and WebLogic 10.3.3 in a clustered environment. I am having a strange issue where the resolution is eluding me.
This install is running on Windows 2008 x64 Standard and using the x64 JRockit Java.
What's happening is when I configure the managed server to run as a windows service, OIM isn't detected on the server. I can bring up xlWebApp but an unable to log into that or the Design Console. When launching the Diagnostic Dashboard it statest that OIM isn't installed.
If I stop the service and log into WebLogic and start the managed server from within the Admin Console in WebLogic, everything works just fine.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this and ultimately resolve this? The service correct startes the managed server as I can watch it start up in the admin console but when it starts that way, OIM isn't detected. Very odd.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Oracle confirmed with us that it is certified for 10.3.3 though it may not be published yet.
At any rate I figured out the problem today. The script I used to create the service was missing the JAVA_OPTIONS section from the xlStartManagedServer.cmd file. Once I added that and re-created the service, all is well.
    Thanks

It was very helpful to me, for configuring the additional parameters in the communication Channel JMS.
I leave you some screenshots of the settings that I did.
I seize the opportunity to ask you, where do I can get the drivers (.Jar) for Weblogic?

  • OAM WebLogic integration issue

    Hi
I have integrated portal application hosted on WebLogic with OAM using SSPI.
The integration is successful and the application is working fine but we see following Error message in the weblogic logs whenever user hits the Portal home page.
    <Dec 2, 2008 1:39:20 AM PST> <Error> <NetPointSecurityProviders> <700012> <Access system authorization failed for resource. Type [wl_authen], Name [Authen/Basic], Operation [LOGIN]. Reason - User's authentication level is insufficient for a requested resource.>
We see this message only when user is not authenticated before and hits Portal home page which also has Login portlet. Once user is authenticated and access any resource on the portal application, we do not see such error messages.
Has anyone faced this issue before? And what could be wrong with the integration?
    Thanks
    Kiran Thakkar

    Hi kiran,
U hve said tht u r successfull in integrating weblogic application server with OAM using SSPI
The same oly v are also trying to do but we are facing some issues:
    I'm using BEA weblogic8.1sp3,OAM10.1.4.0.1 and SSPI10.1.4.0.1
During instillation of SSPI i have selected the advanced instillation so the policies are automatically getting deployed in my OAM but after tht my weblogic is not able to start.
In the log file it is showing the following errors:

  • Weblogic Security Issues

We are running our Web application on Weblogic 5.1 SP12. A security company just
audited our web application using its own tool and produced a report that stated
    the following:
    1. URL Trickery may be used to list server directories thus revealing sensitive
files. I learned that this problem was fixed in Weblogic server after version
5.1 SP8. I just wanted to make sure that is the case because I heard from another
source that it wasn't until version 6.1. If the latter is right then we have
    a problem.
    2. A Hacker may be able to use "Forceful Browsing" and "Forceful Browsing by Direcotry
Guessing" to gain access to restricted site content.
    3. Parameter Tampering can be used by a hacker by setting a param value out of
the expected value range or changing that value to one beyond its designated range.
    4. Cross site scripting (Standard Variants) can be used whereby customer session
and cookies are compromised thereby allowing the attackerto pose as a legitimate
user to view, alter records, or perfrom transactions as that user.
The question is: are still issues in 5.1 SP12? If not, can we provide a proof
of that? If any of those is then what is the workaround/solution/patch required?
    Thanks

Sammii don't believe some of these issues are necessarily Weblogic issues.
1 and 2) You should be able to setup error pages such that
    weblogic.httpd.errorPage.xxx=whatever.html
3 and 4) These are really application architecture and design issues. Eg. If I
were to setup a parameter in the URL, anyone can change it and the page can display
different results. And, the issue with the cookies, again an application issue
as I do not know what you are storing in the local cookies file.

  • Upgrading to weblogic 12c issue with JSF

Migrating to the Weblogic 12c faced so many issue with the shared class library. After fixing all the issue stuck with JSF and on google everywhere it was mentioned error happening due to multiple JSF version colliding.
My whole application works like a charm in 10.3.6 but same app not working after updating the spring 4 and hibernate 4.
This is the error I am receiving below errors ...

    hi.
I had faced this behavior on weblogic 12c(12.1.1).
Maybe This problem was solved by 12.1.2.
But, when text item submitted together with a upload file, multibyte characters was garbage characters.
See Multibyte character was garbage characters, when multipart requested (Multipartリクエストで文字化けが発生する) on WebLogic12(12.1.2.0)

  • BEA Weblogic performance issue

    Hi All,
We are using bea weblogic 10.2.
We have some performance issue in our production.
    We face the proble like
    1. Our bea query takes maxixmum cpu utilization in the oracle databse.
process are content upload, update, expiry and report fetching.
    2. When we run BEA query for report it takes around 10 min to run and content count is around 70,000,
    is this OK?
    3. Some times we get Socket connection error.
    4. Sometimes we get portal datasource connection pool error, currently it is set as 30.
    5. Almost every process is slow.
Can anyone help me for optimization?
    From BBA,
we idetified the query which is taking high CPU utilization..
    SELECT
    DISTINCT B.NODE_ID, B.NODE_VERSION_ID, B.CM_MODIFIED_DATE, B.MODIFIED_BY,B.VERSION_COMMENT,
    B.LIFECYCLE_STATUS,A.OBJECT_CLASS_ID,A.REPOSITORY_NAME
    FROM CMV_NODE A, CMV_NODE_VERSION B,(SELECT NODE_ID, MAX(CAST(NODE_VERSION_ID AS INTEGER)) NVI
    FROM CMV_NODE_VERSION GROUP BY NODE_ID) A1, ( SELECT B.NODE_ID,B.NODE_VERSION_ID, B.CM_MODIFIED_DATE,
    B.MODIFIED_BY, B.VERSION_COMMENT, B.LIFECYCLE_STATUS, A.OBJECT_CLASS_ID, A.REPOSITORY_NAME FROM CMV_NODE A,
    CMV_NODE_VERSION B, CMV_NODE_VERSION_PROPERTY N1, CMV_PROPERTY P1, CMV_VALUE_V V1 WHERE A.NODE_ID = B.NODE_ID
    AND B.NODE_ID = N1.NODE_ID AND B.NODE_VERSION_ID = N1.NODE_VERSION_ID AND N1.PROPERTY_ID = P1.PROPERTY_ID
    AND P1.PROPERTY_ID = V1.PROPERTY_ID AND P1.PROPERTY_NAME = :1 AND (UPPER(V1.TEXT_VALUE) LIKE :2 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_0" )
    UNION
         SELECT B.NODE_ID, B.NODE_VERSION_ID, B.CM_MODIFIED_DATE, B.MODIFIED_BY, B.VERSION_COMMENT,
    B.LIFECYCLE_STATUS, A.OBJECT_CLASS_ID, A.REPOSITORY_NAME FROM CMV_NODE A, CMV_NODE_VERSION B, CMV_NODE_

If your DB CPU is pegged, then anything that does db operations will take time (including some portal operations). If you take a thread dump you should be able to see them waiting on the DB
When we run BEA query for report it takes around 10 min to run and content count is around 70,000,No. If it causes your CPU to max out it isnt. However your content items arent that much, so what query are you running? You could always export and import just the content tables and run your queries on some other machine (Assuming this is the cause)
    3. Some times we get Socket connection error.More information needed
    4. Sometimes we get portal datasource connection pool error, currently it is set as 30.What is the error?
    5. Almost every process is slow.If the DB is maxed this is what you should expect.
When is the query fired? Are your indexes created? I assume caching is not much good to you since these are reporting queries?

  • Weblogic Startup Issues

I've been searching through this board and through other sources to find some answers..... I recently tried to update fusion middleware (Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5)) on top of an existing copy we had installed due to a forms error we kept encountering. I ran the install without any issues and ran it without any "config" options.... After all was said and I done, I was able to start the adminserver services without issues, however my WLS_FORMS will no longer start and I'm not clear as to why at this point and I've pretty much wasted the last day trying to troubleshoot this.... We're running Weblogic and Forms 11g on a Windows 2008 R2 (64bit) server. Here's the output from the WLS_FORMS log... any help would be appreciated!

I increased parameter values, but still similar outcome... I noticed on our production server that the WLS_FORMS server instance has security policy attached to the config (Servers --> WLS_FORMS --> Security (tab) --> Policies (tab), whereas this update now seems to force me to select "XACMLAuthorizer" where I just can't seem to disable this option at all, so based on the error highlighted below, could that have anything to do with it?

  • Weblogic server issue

    Hi
I got an error in Weblogic server, when i try to upload the file it is failed at 10% and the error is "Object referrence is not set to the Object" . can anyone help to resolve this issue.
    with regards
    Fahid

    Hi,
First thing u can try is use debugging, so that u can know where the error has occured.
next thing is use exception handling for creating connection, command etc... u have to check at each level whether object is created or not.

  • Weblogic 10 issue

I'm in the process of moving an application from 8.1 to 10. From time to time I get the following exception when the server starts. I've managed to get rid of it a few times but whenever I clean the project the weboutput directory gets deleted. What am I doing to cause this and how can I fix it?

  • Weblogic Threading Issue

    Dear All,
We have a situation (very strange one). Here is the setup.
Our application is written in struts 1.1. The configuration is as follow.
    Internet --> Sun One Web Server (7.0) --> WebLogic (10) ---> Database
Our application has one page where we will receive form post variable from browser client and display the information based on the data in the form.
Currently, if there are two clients coming in at the same time, 2nd user is seeing first user's page. Our application receives the data posted by 2nd user but the page for the 1st user is served to 2nd user.
    Help!
    Is it configuration issue?
    Aung

Can you paste the access.log and proxy log snippet at the time you are facing this issue?

  • Weblogic deploy issue

    Hello,
I try to deploy a web application compiled with NetBeans to WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.0.0 (AIX) and I receive an error.
The application can be deployed without any problems to WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.1.0.
The application is the most simple thing possible, consisting in just a JSP page.
Do you have any idea where is the problem?
    I've added some details bellow.
    Thank you,

This appears to occur when Weblogic attempts to parse the env-entry entries when web.xml is defined with an older namespace declaration.  In this case, the servlet 2.4 schema was used.
    Solution:
Updating the web.xml namespace declaration resolved the issue.
    See document http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13712/web_xml.htm#i1039990http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13712/web_xml.htm#i1039990

  • Weblogic login issue

i wrote log-in code in servlet, on Weblogic server, it works fine, but some times it gives session time out error even before complelty logging in and when i delete the cookie, everything works fine again.. did any body faced this problem before..???
    please help me...

    Bala,
WebLogic Portal uses WebLogic Server's Security under the hood.
Are you using WebLogic Authentication Providers in your environment?
    Or
Are you using some kind of Application Server Identity Management Policy Agents for Authentication & Authorization to LDAP Servers?
If you using the first option, WebLogic Server cannot LOCK the user at all, as the API performs LDAP User Search and then compares password internally.
If you are using the second option, then check with the Policy Agent vendor in case if there is any issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Pazhanikanthan. P
