Webservice: Gateway external system contact error

Hi -
I am in the process of building an outbound interface using webservices (8.48). I am able to ping local and external nodes successfully, but I am receiving an error when i save the data from the page. (Peoplecode has been written on SavePostChange %Intbroker.syncrequest(&msg)). Any idea what I am missing in the setup?
Thanks, Shri

Could you paste the URL on the forum...I hope the setups - SvOps/Service/Messages have been defined correctly...

    Hi,
I have to use Integration Broker to Build an inbound interface and to integrate Inventory with Third Party system. It is an ASynchronous Service Operation.
I am using the PSFT_EP as local node for Peoplesoft and I have created an External node and used the HTTPTARGET as the connector for that external

  • External system Contact Error

    Hi,
I am getting the following Error.
    HttpTargetConnector:ExternalApplicationException. HttpStatusCode returned:500.
External System responded with an error status. looking for a solution for the same

Ok I'm going to ask some more questions now so I can help to track your problem :)
    - What tools release are you using?
    - How are you consuming the third-party webservice? (UDDI, WSDL-URL, WSIL-URL or file)
    - Is your Webserver behind a firewall or a proxy?
    - Depending on how you consume the webservice; do you get a page/file when opening the URL in your browser?
PeopleSoft automatically detects if a webservice is synchronous or asynchronous depending on the amount of port types in the details of the WSDL (if this is infact what you're using).

    Hi,
please go thru the link below and see if u have followed the steps mentioned in it while defining the web service. if it still doesn’t help you, please do give a little more detail about the scenario you are doing...

You can create SOAP Request from WSDL using the following tool.
    http://www.gotdotnet.com/Community/UserSamples/Details.aspx?SampleGuid=65a1d4ea-0f7a-41bd-8494-e916ebc4159c
You've to expose your outbound message interface as a WSDL which can be used by say EP.
Also go thru the following threads
    Re: WebService
Re: SOAP Client for Synchronous Scenario
Re: How to test a webservice as a standalone?
In any B2B scenario, you're going to have stricter security requirements. XI and other SAP applications in the vast majority of cases reside within the internal network of a company, as I'm sure it does for your company A. It is recommended to have some kind of reverse proxy/web switch hardware/software residing in the DMZ to intercept the external request. Direct requests (especially HTTP) by most, if not all, companies will not be allowed to freely pass to applications within a company's intranet.
SAP has something called the Web Dispatcher that is commonly used for such a purpose. You can find more info on it at the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/5cfd3b0e59774ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm

In addition, you'll probably require a more secure transport protocol like HTTPS/SSL as well.

  • Best practicies exposing AM (OAF 11.5.10) as webservice to external systems

IHAC how is developing extensions to there ebusiness install base using OAF 11.5.10 and they have approached me with questions on how they could expose some of the business services developed (AM VO mainly) as webservices to be used in a BPEL/Webservice framework. The BPEL service is seebeyond (not sure how it is spelled) and not Oracle's.
I have outlined 2 ways, but since I have not developed anything on OAF I have no idea it is possible.
First was to migrate the ADF BC (or BC4J) projects from OAF with JDeveloper 10.1.3 and just more or less create a simple facade layer of a session bean right-click and deploy as webservice.
Second: was to use a webservice library such as axis to be used in JServ directly to expose them on the "target" server.
Has anyone any best practicies on this topic,

For recognition and stable functionality of USB devices, your B&W G3 should be running OS 8.6 minimally. The downloadable OS 8.6 Update can be run on systems running OS 8.5/8.5.1. If (after updating to 8.6), your flash drive still isn't recognized, I'd recommend downloading the OS 9.1 Update for the purpose of extracting its newer USB support drivers, using the downloadable utility "TomeViewer." These OS 9.1 USB support files can be extracted directly to your OS 8.6 Extensions folder and are fully compatible with the slightly older OS software. It worked for me, when OS 8.6's USB support files lacked a broad enough database to support my first USB flash drive.

  • Need to call up a webservice created in external system from SAP

    Hi folks,
A web service is created in the external system and I need to access this web service from a BADI. Can you tell me how can I call this web service (the external system is giving me a URL) and how to capture the return value from the web service. Please let me know in detail.
    Thanks,
    Prem

    Hi,
I have the same requirement and have created a new Proxy-Object, uploaded the WSDL file (locally) and Created a Logical port.
In the Logical Port under the tab Call Parameter I've defined the URL of the web-service.
Since I was not able to upload the WSDL by selecting the option URL/HTTP Destination due to error message "HTTP error (return code 400, message "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED")
Message no. SPRX090" so uploaded the file locally.
However, when testing the service, I didn't received a sucess message but:
    <CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT>
    <CODECONTEXT>Local</CODECONTEXT>
    <CODE> ERROR_WEBSERVICE_RUNTIME_INIT </CODE>
<ERRORTEXT> Error when instantiating the Web service runtime (Error when initializing SOAP client application: ' error_text' ) </ERRORTEXT>
    <LANGUAGE />

What might be the Problem ?

  • Siebel UCM (OCH) is overwriting the Contact changes done by external system

    Hi All,
We are using UCM for Contact data management. One external system is updating Contact data in UCM through inbound WS. But in Logs, we observed that first it is updating Contact data with values from external system but secondly it is automatically calling UCM Survivorship Engine (Method: IntelligentMerge) BS and updating Contact to old values again. Due to this, it is overwriting the changes done by external system and retaining the original contact values.
We are using "PersonService" web service to update Contact. Also we are using Contact default Survivorship Rules with default criteria as "External" and created our own BS to update it.
Please let me know, how should I stop UCM from overwriting my changes.
    Best Regards,
    Sandesh

    Hey Wilson,
    Thanks for your reply.
We are aware of survivorship rules. We have defined our own survivorship rules with Default Criteria is "External". In that, we mentioned the name and method of BS. But somehow our changes are getting override by UCM. We have gone through logs, it is writing our changes and later calling BS: UCM Survivorship Engine, Method: IntelligentMerge, which is overwriting our changes.
    Thanks,
    Sandesh

    Hi,
It depends, if it's a static IP address for your machine, it should be OK for this one IP address; if it is a dynamic IP address in a range, you can input the IP address range which contains this mentioned IP address

  • How do I integrate SAP R/3 with an external system?

    Hi there!
I've run into a problem integrating SAP R/3 with an external system. The external system provides a webservice, and when I try to get WSDL file from that service, I am getting asked of authorization and when I authorize, I get error 500. The access is anonymous, as I'm being told. When I try to get just a response, server requests authorization. No matter what login and password I supply, I always get error 401 saying I'm not authorized.
I think the ICF is somewhat misconfigured, but how do I configure it? Or maybe there's a problem with requests I send. I don't know.
    Please help!

  • Connecting of an external system by IDOC adapter

    Hello everybody,
we want to connect an external (storage) system to XI by IDOC-Adapter.
In a scenario without XI the R/3 backend triggers the external system by RFC-Call (TCPIP-conncetion) and an program on the external system is called. This program executes an RFC-call on the R/3 to get the IDOC-informations.
IN the new scenario (with XI) the R/3 Backend sends the IDOC information to XI. The XI routes this to external system. An TCPIP-Connection is needed which calls the program from the external system.
But how should this work? The program can not (or should not) call the R/3 Backend directly but the XI.
What has to be done now? Has the program of the external system changed so that it can understand IDOC-structure directly?
Or do I have to implement a business process scenario to guarantee that the external system reads the IDOC data in XI (similar to "old" scenario?
    Thanks a lot!

    HI everybody,
thank you very much for your help. Now it es possible to send an IDOC from R/3 Backend and IDOC-Adapter via XI to an external system using the IDOC-Adapter.
But now the external system wants to send IDOCs back. So the communication is realised by using the IDOC-Adapter again. In this case we do not get the messages in XI. The conncection is ok (we see this in the Gateway), but the system gets an error in IDOC adapter (sys-log):
    <b><b>Transaktions-Abbruch IDOC_ADAPTER 151 ( LFS 910 )</b></b>LFS = external system (AS400).

  • FTP to external system

    Hi,
I am try to establish a connection to the external system. I am using the FM "FTP_CONNECT" for connection in my ABAP program. But somehow I am not able to connect.
I am getting an error message saying "Attempting to connect to (HOSTname) fail".

    Thanks,
    Samay

    Hi Samay,
You need to setup RFC Destination (SM59). If you don't have authorization, please ask BASIS to help you. Otherwise please follow this steps.
When you define an RFC server program (usually an executable on a server) as RFC destination, you choose either 'START' or 'Registration'. 'Start' means the SAP application sending anything to this destination will trigger this program, while registration means this program will already be running (like a service) and have already registered itself to SAP server.
Once you have defined your RFC destination as of type 'registration', you should execute this exe with the syntax
    "pgmname.exe -a<ProgramID>
    -g<Gateway Host>
    -x<Gateway Service>
" where programID shall be the same as the RFC destination name (I think) and gateway host and service is from the app server where you are registering this destination,
to have it started as a service and registered as the destination to the SAP server (which you can afterwards see in SMGW txn).
If you want this program to be started when something is sent to this RFC destination from SAP, make it of type 'START'.
    Hope this will help.
