Websites available offline

I am trying to read a website (and some sites linked to it) while offline.
I know I can do it with IE by making a bookmark "available offline" and can even set how many "layers" of pages linked to it will be available offline, but I can't find a way to do it either with Safari or Firefox. Can somebody help me?
Thanks

Thanks Dominic, we are aware of this. We made a post about this a while back: http://blogs.adobe.com/psirt/2010/09/alert-adobe-reader-upgrade-email-spamphishing-scam.ht ml. Unfortunately, we try but there is only so much that we can do to stop this spam.

  • Why is it when I click on my Firefox browser it says, "This Website is offline"? It works but not like it used to. What do I do?

This is what I get onscreen when I click on my Firefox browser:
    This website is offline
    No cached version is available
    What's wrong?
    The most likely causes:
The server is down for maintenance
There may be a network problem
The site may be experiencing excessive load
Retry for a live version of the site
    What's CloudFlare?
This website uses CloudFlare in order to help keep it online when the server is down by serving cached copies of pages when they are unavailable. Unfortunately, a cached copy of the page you requested is not available, but you may be able to reach other cached pages on the site.

It is possible that the server is down or otherwise has problems.
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (log in) to access it?
You can try to see if you can access the page via a site like Google Translate with a random source language.

  • Why some pages are not available offline in Safari reading list?

From time to time I experience surprises that some web pages are not available offline in reading list of Safari - link is stored, but content - no.
I was thinking that I was closing Safari too fast before pages downloaded.
But I rechecked - I gave safari enough time and it still not downloaded.
When internet connection is available pages are readable, but not in offline.
    And related to issue:
Should I open Safari to allow to download page, when I add page to reading list from other applications by selecting "Add to reading list"?

YEs, it's totally frustrating... I'll never again just go along with an upgrade. After upgrading to IOS8 the reading list feature no longer works.
I even tried the factory reset, clearing out everything and making my iPad 2 like it was originally. And I didn't restore from backup either, afraid whatever bug it is would come back. I even installed iCab Mobile, and Readability... nothing works!
I Really, really, regret upgrading. I want my fully functioning IOS7 back!!
IS there any way to get IOS7 back, 'coz this IOS8 is for the birds?!

  • Cannot find any "available offline" buttons

Hey there,  How can I make songs availble offline? I've been searching forums for a way to save music to offline mode, but they all say to go to the playlist or song and click the "available offline" button. I can't find this button. I've also tried clicking the triple dots button, and there is nothing about "offline" in there either. I can "save" a song, and I can add a song to a playlist, but when I go into My Music, there is still no offline button.

Yes you can download=offline as long as your are using the downloaded desktop app, the app is the same for desktops and laptops.

  • Anything Similar to "Make Available Offline" from PC environment

In my PC environment I have my laptop connected to my Windows Server and I selected key folders to make available offline. So while out in the field any changes I make are synchronized when I log back in at the office.
Is there anything like this for a Mac?

Yes, but they aren't integrated into the OS. You will have to set them up yourself. Here is a list of (mostly) freeware programs: http://osx.iusethis.com/search?q=rsync
MacOS X does have some scripting support for syncing folders. You can download a pre-build script: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/syncfoldersaction.html
or hack it up yourself: http://sites.google.com/site/andreatagliasacchi/blog/osxautomaticsyncwithfoldera ctions
There are also some commercial solutions: http://www.qdea.com/pages/pages-syncx/syncx1.html

  • How to make a website available off-line

How can I make the content of a website available off-line? In the "old days" this was common, and built in to web browsers. A whole site could be downloaded and all links too 2 or 3 levels deep. Then the content would be available when not online. Changes would sync periodically. I've searched addons but nothing ("Download Them All" is a start, but only gets links one level deep from the page you're on at the time.)
    Thanks!

  • Windows 8 - "Make Available Offline" option missing. Went to Control panel- Sync Centre clicking "Manage offline files" Does nothing.

Hello I am running Windows 8 Single Language Edition.
I tried to Make a NAS folder available offline by right clicking on the folder. But   "Make Available Offline" option is missing.
Then went to Control Panel->Sync Centre clicking "Manage offline files" does nothing.
    How to fix my issue?
    Thanks,

    Hi Simon,
Regarding to this issue, please refer to this article:

Please also check if Offline Settings is enabled from NAS folder. Folder-> properties -> Advanced sharing on sharing tab -> Caching.

  • "Available offline" keeps resetting to off.

The "available offline" button keeps turning to "off."  I keep having to turn it back on and then let all the songs download again.  What's the deal?

Funny, I just had the same issue recur today and was going to write in yet again about it. I went and got on the Tube for my usual 45-minute ride, which is only bearable with music, and discovered that of the 10 playlists I have set to "Play Offline", ALL of them had zero songs on them, meaning that I had nothing to listen to yet again. Frustrating.
Here's my theory: if your phone starts to get close to full storage capacity (which mine did last week), then for some reason when Spotify goes to try to sync and can't add an additional song, it freaks out and deletes everything it's already stored. If that's the case, instead of me having to pay £500 for a bigger phone it'd be great if Spotify could just *not delete local songs unless I explicitly tell it to*.

  • Your Music: Make all saved albums available offline button

I recently emptied my cache etc. After that, I had to download all 35 albums by hand. It would be so much more pleasant if I could download them all with just ONE button ;) ;)

Hello and welcome to the community!
Just a few questions before we can give your idea a proper status:
    - Which platform would you like to see this on (Desktop, mobile, etc)
    - When you're talking about albums, do you mean the saved albums in 'Your Music'? So you want a "Make all saved albums available offline" button? Or have you saved those albums as playlist?

  • [Desktop][Your Music] Make Songs in Your Music be available offline like in mobile

We should be capable of taking saved songs in your music to offline on desktop like we do on mobile. Currently, there is no "available offline" button in songs in the your music area. Offline is currently available just on playlists,

Sorry, I forgot to clarify why specifically I am disobeying the instructions here, namely it was promised that that thread would remain open for comments about 5 months ago, however...it's closed... Seriously, if we can make any other playlist available offline, the feature used to exist, AND it is available on mobile...it cannot be an insurmountable challenge for Desktop, certainly not one worth waiting years for.

  • Offline Files, not available offline after server 2008 R2 upgrade

I have a few users on Windows 7 Enterprise. They have their H (home) drive "Always Available Offline". If we check the offline files folder they show up. If the user shuts down, takes their laptop off the network, starts up and logs back in, the
offline copy of the H: does not show up like it did before.   If I unc into the path where the H is, I can get to it or if I run the log in script. (note: only the files that had Always available offline show up). This tells me the files sync and wre
copied to the client machine, it's just not "mapping" the offline drive for the user like it use to.
I've gone as far as to completely wipe one of the laptops (with users permission of course) and re-install everything, all updates and it still happens. I am begging to think it is something with the servers but the Sys admin doesn't think so. I am at loss
    of what to try next.

Glad to hear it is solved, thanks for sharing your solution and experience here.

  • Is there a way to make a micro-website available off-line as an application?

I have a small website that is built in html that includes video files and some pdfs. I would like to make this site available off-line on the iPad so that I can show it even when I don't have an Internet connection. Can anyone give me some advice on techniques, software, or vendors that can help me do this?

Matt, I use Gusto, which is actually a markup editor.  But it allows you to download site files and run the HTML from within the app, so even though it wouldn't be visible on your homescreen, at least you could run the site offline.
