  • WebUtil dll download error: Unable to write to local file

    Hi,
    Hopefully I'm putting this in the correct forums.
    I'm setting up a Forms application that uses webutils.
    We're running Forms and Reports standalone (10.1.2.3.0) running on Solaris Sparc (64bit) and have just applied patch 7703734.
    As per Oracle Support doc [ID 783937.1], I'm trying to set the download location for the webutil libraries:
    install.syslib.location.client.0 = C:\webutil
    However, I'm gettting the following error message in the Java 6u16 console (repeated for each of the 3 webutil files)
    *2011-Feb-07 12:24:16.988 ERROR>WUC-19 [URLDownload.pullFile()] Unable to write to local file C:\webutil\::dev\d2kwut60.dll. Failed to download URL http://appdev02:7787/forms/webutil/d2kwut60.dll*
    I've done a bit of searching and most of the answer's I've come across refer to Vista or Windows 7 and UAC. Unfortunately the SOE for this app is XP Pro SP3.
    It's probably something simple I'm missing , but would appreciate and pointing in the right direction.
    If you need any more info, let me know.
    Cheers,
    Matt

    Hello
    the problem also appears with windows vista
    i found a solution but it's not a good one
    if you download the files into the java directory
    you can modify the userrights and give the user "everyone" the right 'write' for the bin directory.

  • WebUtil error: WUC-6: Unable to read WebUtil configuration file

    Dear Colleague,
    I received the following error:
    WUC-6: Unable to read WebUtil configuration file
    c:\OraHome_BIForms\forms\server\webutil.cfg
    In the meantime, I have verified that my default.env file contains the following path definition:
    # webutil config file path
    WEBUTIL_CONFIG=C:\OraHome_BIForms\forms\server\webutil.cfg
    What is wrong here? Does "unable to read..." mean that the file security settings do not allow read access to the webutil.cfg file?
    I would appreciate any advice you can give me.
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Randy

    In the meantime, I have figured out the solution to my problem.
    The webutil.cfg file was not in the directory that was being pointed to in the path parameter.
    Regards,
    Randy

    Need Adobe help to solve this. My own searches in Forums and Google all have failed.

    It is not an Adobe problem. You have a OS permissions problem. You can try to correct this by using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions. It is in the First Aid area of Disk Utility.

  • Error Log entry Unable to write file with XML Saver

    Hi all,
    I have just encountered the following problem. I am saving a XML file using the XML Saver. Another BLT reads the file, changes something, and saves it again with the same name.
    The file is saved, but the NetWeaver SAP Log gives the error
    "Unable to write file /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/xappsxmiiear/servlet_jsp/XMII/root/CM/<folder>/file.xml"
    Is it a problem with the new storage mechanism in MII 12? Even if I delete the file first and then save it again with the same name, the error is displayed (though the file is saved).
    Michael

    Hi Mike,
    no, the Debug only says "Begin Action XML Saver" and "End Action XML Saver".
    The action however writes the file, the contents has changed after the BLT has run.
    Well, I have just tried the Text Saver with the same file (name and contents). It also gives the error. I now wanted to delete the folder. The folder disappered from the workbench view, and the Netweaver log says "Unable to process service message".
    I then clicked "publish" on the parent folder and tried to create the folder again, but although the folder was not displayed, the workbench said "the folder already exists". When I start my BLT, it could write the file into the folder which then reappeared in the workbench.
    Hm, maybe our installation has some problems? Feels like missing authorizations...

  • Authorization Error while exporting a target group to local file

    Dear All,
    When we tried to export a created target group to local file, system gave an error message: "Authorization required. See SAP Note: 697572".
    In this note, it tells that we should add certain authorization entries into the Java policy file under: \lib\security. It mentioned:
    Authorization              Target name       Action
    RuntimePermission                                modifyThread
    PropertyPermission        user.dir           read
    FilePermission            <<ALL FILES>>   read
    FilePermission            <<ALL FILES>>    write
    RuntimePermission                                  shutdownHooks
    And what we put into the policy file is as below:
         permission java.util.PropertyPermission "user.dir", "read";
         permission java.util.FilePermission "ALL FILES", "read";
         permission java.util.FilePermission "ALL FILES", "write";
         permission java.util.RuntimePermission "modifyThread";
         permission java.util.RuntimePermission "shutdownHooks";
    We are not sure about whether we should put  <<ALL FILES>> or ALL FILES, but tried both way and still didn't work.
    Could you please share your experience on this?
    Thanks!

    Tried again and it worked.

  • Process local form and write to local file?

    I've written a form using alot of JavaScript. It is intended to run on a local machine and I need to write the information to a local file. Is this easily done using javascript to process the form?
    If so, please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks much,
    Mike Rieck

    Ok, so here's another possibility I'm thinking of.
    My need is to have our salesmen fill out the form (quote request) offline, then when connected to the Internet, submit the info via e-mail or posting to an application on our company server.
    Since my form has many questions that will never get answered, depending on the path the user takes, I could create a smaller form by opening a new window with javascript and writing the pertinent values of form 1 as the default values for the new form. Then ask the user to save the new form to their hardrive and either e-mail it or post it, at a time when they are connected to the Internet.
    To add additional functionality to this process, I want to take the form and process it into a formal RTF formated quote.
    From what you've explained, I can either write a Java application to process the form on our server, or I could ask the salesman to e-mail the 2nd form as an attachment, and I could write another program in any language to write the RTF file on the local machine of the e-mail recipient.
    If I choose the posting option, what are the possibilities of getting the RTF file to someone inside the same office as the server, without the salesman having to download the RTF file and then e-mailing it? Also, how difficult does this sound for someone new to Java?

  • WEBUTIL  Error WUC-15: "Your Form must contain the following Bean ...

    Dear Colleague,
    Up until now, I have installed WebUtil in my DEV environment (Designer Suite) and successfully used it to develop and run a form called DOCU_MGMT.fmx that performs various document management tasks like:
    1. File Upload into a DB BLOB column
    2. File Download and display
    3. Full text search (via Oracle Text) etc.
    In the meantime, I installed WebUtil in my TEST environment (Application Server) and successfully started the DOCU_MGMT.fmx form. However, when I press the button that executes the webutil_file_transfer.DB_To_Client function, I get the "WUC-15" error message, namely:
         "WUC-15 Your Form must contain the following Bean for this function to be available.
    oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions"
    According to the error message guide:
    "WUC-15 Your Form must contain the following Bean for this function to be available."
    Description: WebUtil uses Bean areas to carry out client side functionality and these must be present.
    Resolution: Drag the WEBUTIL object group into your Form.
    But this form was compiled with the WEBUTIL pll attached and the WEBUTIL object group subclassed into it.
    Any ideas or tips on the problem and how I should proceed? Any support would be appreciated.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Randy

  • Webutil error WUC-20 when running

    Hi ,
    I've added the webutil utility to my application and in some client pc's I receive the WUC-20 (web utils dll's are diferent in the jinitiator and in the server )error when starting the application. We have tried copying the server's dll's to the jinitiator\bin folder but it seem like everitime i start that application it downloads these files (jacob.dll,JNIsharedstubs.dll,d2kwut60.dll) of 1KB size. Our browser is IE5.0, has somebody got any ideas of what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Have a look in the 1k file that does get downloaded - you will probably find that you have incorrectly defined your
    install.syslib.location, and this cannot be found as a virtual directory on the server and/or the virtual directory exists but the config file is in the wrong format for your O/S (may apply if your app server is unix)

    Double-check the required configuration steps outlined in the manual. Obviously webutil.jar could not be found, so make sure that you have modified orion-web.xml as stated on page 6 of 49, Webutil Manual.

  • IPhoto won't open and has an error that says "Unable to write to iPhoto Library, check that you have permission to write to the iPhoto directory. Please help.

    It will not open my photos as well. I see this question asked in 2010 but I don't have the files it says that are there.

    Where are you storing your iPhoto library? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive?  Or are you trying to open an iPhoto library on a CD?  If you save your iPhoto library to a CD, or DVD you need to copy it to a writable disk, before you can open it in iPhoto.
    ANd what is your iPhoto version and your MacOS X version?  What happened, directly, before the problem occured?
