Webutil in Forms: Access Control Exception

Hi
I have a forms application (Developed using DS10g 9.0.4 on Windows) deployed on a Linux Application Server (10g 9.0.4).
I am trying to incorporate webutil into my application.
I believe I have configured webutil (release 1.0.5) correctly and have signed the jacob.jar and webutil.jar files and placed them on the AS box as per the release notes.
On opening the form which uses webutil I get the following error:
connectMode=HTTP, native.
Forms Applet version is : 9.0.4.0
Exception occurred during event dispatching:
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission java.home read)

This to me is indicative of something not being right with the signing process. I have confirmed that both files were signed (using 'jarsigner -verify').
I have also tried re-signing the f90all.jar file (is this still required, or has the feature present in earlier versions of forms relating to multiple signing identities now been fixed)?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Just tried this again (after a gap of about a week), and it works fine.
The only thing I can think of is that somewhere old versions of the jar files (unsigned) were being cached, probably on the application server (I had tried clearing out the cache on the client previously).

  • Access control exception only on Linux/Debian not on Windows!?

    We have a rmi server application with a webstart rmi swing client that we have been running successfully on Windows. The client is downloaded and running without any problems on Windows platforms (W2003, Win2K, WinXP). The client webstart jar is signed and all permissions is set in the jnlp file.
    As soon as we setup a server on linux/debian sarge we get these access control exceptions when the server tries to send events back to the client. It complains on
    file permssions not being set on the server jar file and the strange thing is that the path separator is backslash on linux?
    I've tried the following:
    1) java.policy. Added All permssions to the server jar file and/or bin the folder.
    2) Running without any security manager, i.e., System.setSecurityManager(null)
    3) Explicitly setting the policy on the server. Policy.setPolicy(...)
    4) Explicitly setting a policy on the client. URL policyUrl = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource("server.policy");
    5) Building the server and client on debian
    I'm at my wits end... I've searched these forums and it seems that this is might be a common problem but I've not found a solution yet.
    Our system works 100% on Windows without any problems, it's only on linux/debian that we get these access control problems.

    I have two suggestions. The first is that you didn't indicate the permissions of the file and the directories above it along with the user you're running the program as. In Unix it is easier to get an access issue as you're probably not running as root. In a traditional Windows environment everything runs with admin permission allowing access to anything. While the error comes from the security manager it has nothing to do with traditional J2SE security - it may be an O/S level thing.
    But the second suggestion touches on the other question you have - why is this showing up as backslashes? Is there perhaps an issue with the JNLP file? Is there any code that should be using System.getProperty( "file.separator") and is instead just using the backslash?

    how to set code base ???
    pls help

    Thanx Fedrik
    I got it. Thanx a lot for ur co -operation.
    The summary is that we dont need to specify any security manager
    or code base at server side.
    at client side we'll provide the security manager and codepase property
    like
    System.setProperty("java.security.policy","C:/myrmi.policy");
    System.setProperty("java.rmi.server.codebase", "http://192.168.0.11:8080/rmiclientclasses/");
    but the restriction( or drawback) is that we can only specify the url of http server.
    the policy file is like this --->
    grant
    permission java.net.SocketPermission "*:1024-65535","connect,accept,listen,resolve";
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    once again thanx Fedrik

  • Access Security Exception

    Hello,
    I have written an applet and when I upload the applet to the website and open the browser I get an access control exception error.
    Platform: MacOS X
    I.E: 5.1.2
    Error:
    java.security.AccessControlException: access deinied (java.lang.RuntimePermission writeFileDescriptor)
    What can I do about this problem?
    Thanks!

    You are trying to access a file on the local PC, you can't do this with an applet. If you are actually trying to refer to a file on the Server, make sure you are not using File objects. Refer to them as URL objects. Obvisouly I am guessing without knowing what your code looks like or what your are trying to get the applet to do.
    Being it says FileDescriptor in your error try using the Url object as I did below:
         private URL theUrl;
         private Color backColor;
         private String sztemp;
         public void init()
              //????Maybe Make a thread and move all to start???
              //Set All Values to defaults
              filename = "counter.dat";
              fullURL = getCodeBase() + filename;
              displaytype = "text";
              value = 0;
              digits = 5;
              backColor = new Color(255,255,255);
              //Get AppletParameters that were set
              // Create the URL for Counter file
              try{
                   theUrl = new URL(fullURL);
              } catch( MalformedURLException e)
                   System.out.println("Bad URL: " + theUrl );
    then
              try {
                   connect = this.theUrl.openConnection();
                   connect.connect();
              } catch ( IOException e ) {
                   System.out.println("IO Error: " + e.getMessage() );
    and to use the Input Stream
                   DataInputStream stream = new DataInputStream( new BufferedInputStream(connection.getInputStream() ) );
    As far as the output stream, I need answer to my posting.
    Hope that helped.

  • Form Manager Access Control

    Hi,
    I can logon to Adobe FM AdminUI in my company. I tried to control access a workflow with fmAccessPage. I set a person to allow a workflow, but from her screen the workflow category is not shown. Instead, I set all users to allow the workflow category, the category is not shown.
    How long does it take to reflect the access control to user screen?

    Hi Akira ,
    Which version do you use ? I think there is an error on the category access for Livecycle 7.0 , and it is good for Livecycle 7.2

    I followed the steps layed out for configuring webutil in the users guide, I suspect the problem is related to signing the jacob.jar file.
    I signed jacob.jar using $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/sign_webutil.bat, I made sure ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin was in PATH.
    I received these warning/errors at this point
    Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
    keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists
    There were warnings or errors while generating a self signing certificate. Please review them.
    Backing up d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar as d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.old...
    1 file(s) copied.
    Signing d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar using key=webutil2...
    jarsigner: attempt to rename d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar to d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.orig failed
    I am running forms 10.1.2. How do I resolve this problem.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Jim
    .

    Well, I think the problem is a permission issue or there is a problem finding the correct files. Let me explain:
    1. The first error is expected. Read it carefully and consider what you did to this point.
    Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
    keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists
    This is expected because the alias was already created when signing frmwebutil.jar. Since the alias only needs to be created one time, this is expected and can be ignored.
    2. The second error is your real issue:
    jarsigner: attempt to rename d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar to d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.orig failed
    My suggestion:
    1. Delete all jacob files including any which may have been renamed.
    2. Re-download the correct Jacob version as noted in the WebUtil and Forms documentation. Do NOT attempt to use a newer version as it will cause a failure.
    3. Copy the jacob.jar file in the same directory which contains the cortousy signing script (batch) Oracle provides.
    4. Ensure that you have (Windows) Administrative permissions on the machine.
    5. Open a DOS shell and change directories (cd) to the directory which contains the signer script.
    6. Set the PATH to include the JDK\bin. For example:
    SET PATH=d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    7. Execute the jarsigner script.
    sign_webutil jacob.jar
    As already mentioned you can ignore messages which suggest that the alias already exists. However, pay attention to any others.
    8. Assuming it works correctly, copy jacob.jar to ..\forms\java
    9. Clear the JAR cache from whichever JRE (Jinitiator) you are using.
    10. Retest

  • Errors while working with Webutil in Forms 10gAS

    Hi Gurus,
    I have an application migrated from 6i to 10g, where in there is a form which will read the text file or any data file which consists of records and inserts them into the database table. This is the primary goal of the form.
    Before to this, I have configured the webutil on the Application server according to the *[url http://sites.google.com/site/craigsoraclestuff/oracle-forms-webutil/2-configure-webutil-for-forms-10g-r2]Runtime setup checklist*.
    And on the application side,
    1. I have compiled the webutil.pll library and also attached the webutil.pll file to the form w/o any path.
    2. I have opened the webtul.olb object library and subclassed its objects to the form(WEBUTIL_ERROR alert, WEBUTIL datablock, WEBUTIL_CANVAS canvas, WEBUTIL object library in Object group node, and WEBUTIL_HIDDEN_WINDOW window were subclassed).
    3. Using the Find and Replace PL/SQL... TEXT_IO was changed to CLIENT_TEXT_IO.
    4. Compiled and created fmx file.
    Now, when I run the form, first thing appears to me is Webutil Information window which has nothing(no java beans) in it except OK button enabled. This window is WEBUTIL_CANVAS.
    After I press OK, the main canvas of the form opens. Here is another problem. This form has 3 fields which has the path of the data file in them. When I press the button to load data, I get an error saying oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found. CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work, three times for the 3 files.
    So I reopened the form in the builder and when I open the canvas, I see an error saying
    FRM-13008: Cannot find JavaBean with name 'oracle.forms.webutil.ole.OleFunctions'.
    and the WEBUTIL_OLE_FUNCTIONS bean area appears to be empty on the canvas.
    Where am I doing wrong?
    Please Help me...

    Hi Andreas,
    Now I can see the java console...
    When I open the form I get these lines in the java console
    proxyHost=null
    proxyPort=0
    connectMode=HTTP, native.

  • SharePoint Provider Hosted App (401) Unauthorized Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The Azure Access Control service is unavailable

    Hello,
    I'm attempting to get a SharePoint 2013 Provider Hosted Application working in a brand new SharePoint environment.  I've created snapshots of both my dev and the sharepoint environments along the way and have meticulously documented every step of the
    way.  I've followed these instructions (among many other resources found along this journey) :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp179923(office.15).aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp161236(office.15).aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/fp179901%28v=office.15%29
    Upon package and publish of my application to SharePoint, I get a 401 Unauthorized error.  I use Fiddler to obtain the SPErrorCorrelationID to ultimately obtain the following ULS Viewer Output.  Please explain how to fix if you're able.
    Please Note:  I was under the impression that a Provider Hosted Application does not use the Azure Access Control service, so I'm confused as to why my system is attempting to make this connection?
    Also Note:  I've used a self signed and godday obtained certificate to successfully f5 debug my basic web.title (out of the visual studio 2012 box) sharepoint provider hosted application... so I know my certs are good.
    Here's my ULS output:

    With Respect,

    Yes, actually - I was able to resolve it.
    However I don't know how, unfortunately.  I suspect it was because I needed to have the names of the certificates, defined during the certificate registration (to sharepoint) process, different.
    I have a complete document that shows step by step instructions on the exact process I took to complete the provider hosted application creation, deployment and publishing.  It was a daunting task, but I finished it successfully.
    If there's a way to send private message on this forum, please do so and I'll respond with a way to obtain my document.
    NOTE:  I'm not all impressed with the way this forum works.  This is supposed to be a Microsoft resource and I'll be damned if I ever get a response to highly technical questions.  Completely lame.  Boooooo Microsoft.

  • Issue while enabling Access Control for a Coherence server node

    Hi
    Im trying to enable access control for a Coherence server node, using the default Keystore login method shipped with Coherence. When i start the server i get the error "java.security.AccessControlException: Unsufficient rights to perform the operation". Please see below for the sequence of steps I've followed to enable access control. I just need to be enable Authentication (not authorization) at this stage
    1. I have added the following entry in the Coherence Operational override file
    <security-config>
              <enabled system-property="tangosol.coherence.security">true</enabled>
              <login-module-name>Coherence</login-module-name>
              <access-controller>
                   <class-name>com.tangosol.net.security.DefaultController</class-name>
                   <init-params>
                        <init-param id="1">
                             <param-type>java.io.File</param-type>
                             <param-value>keystore.jks</param-value>
                        </init-param>
                        <init-param id="2">
                             <param-type>java.io.File</param-type>
                             <param-value>permissions.xml</param-value>
                        </init-param>
                   </init-params>
              </access-controller>
              <callback-handler>
                   <class-name>com.sun.security.auth.callback.TextCallbackHandler</class-name>
              </callback-handler>
         </security-config>
    2. The following is the entry in the Permissions.xml
    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <permissions>
    <grant>
    <principal>
    <class>javax.security.auth.x500.X500Principal</class>
    <name>CN=admin,OU=Coherence,O=Oracle,C=US</name>
    </principal>
    <permission>
    <target>*</target>
    <action>all</action>
    </permission>
    </grant>
    </permissions>
    3. The following is the content of the Login configuration file "Coherence_Login.conf"
    Coherence {
    com.tangosol.security.KeystoreLogin required
    keyStorePath="keystore.jks";
    4. The following is the command line tag for starting the server
    java -server -showversion -Djava.security.auth.login.config=Coherence_Login.conf -Xms%memory% -Xmx%memory% -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=PROXY-cache-config.xml -Dtangosol.coherence.override=FOL-coherence-override.xml -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=6789 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false -Dtangosol.coherence.security=true -cp "%coherence_home%\lib\coherence.jar" com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer %1
    Following is the output on the Console when running the command. It asks for a username and password for the JKS store (If i provide the wrong password, it gives a different error, which shows that it is able to authenticate aganst the Keystore). After i put in the password, it throws the error as shown below "java.security.AccessControlException: Unsufficient rights to perform the operation"

    Did you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

  • Is Compliance Calibrator the same as GRC Access Control?

    I have been asked to look at<b> Compliance Calibrator </b>and am getting confused about what functionality is offered. I have done the basic e-learning course for Compliance Calibrator (GRC200): this was all about separation of duties etc. Fair enough. But I also have a Document called "<b>SAP GRC Access Control</b>" which talks about the same S.O.D compliance functionality but also talks of "roles triggering workflows", "users creating roles", "automated approvals for roles" eg:
    "SAP GRC Access Control streamlines access requests by filling each request automatically with user identity information from a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) directory or HR database, thereby eliminating the need for user intervention. Approvers receive an e-mail with a direct hyperlink to the request inside the application, where they can easily view and approve the request. The application then checks for security violations before updating accounts  automatically."
    None of this was covered on the Compliance Calibrator course, so what product offers this? I can see another product by Virsa called <b>Access Enforcer</b> but have no info on this... can anyone enlighten me?

    SAP GRC Access Control is the SAP application that comprises the former Virsa products Compliance Calibrator, Access Enforcer, Risk Terminator, Firefighter and Role Expert.

  • ESYU: R12 - Order Management를 위한 Multi Org Access Control(MOAC) setup 방법

    Purpose
    Oracle Order Management - Version: 12.0 to 12.0
    Information in this document applies to any platform.
    R12의 Order Management에 대핸 Multi Org Access Control(MOAC) setup 방법에 대해 알아본다.
    Solution
    일반적인 MOAC Setup:
    1. HRMS에서 Security Profile을 정의:
    a. HRMS Management responsibility 선택
    b. HRMS Manager> Security> Profile로 이동
    Navigation: HRMS Management> HRMS Manager> Processes & Reports> Submit Process & Report> Security List Maintenance
    2. MO Profile Options setup:
    a. MO: Security Profile - 이 profile setting은 MOAC functionality를 활성화 한다.
    b. MO: Default Operating Unit - 이 Operating Unit는 OM forms과 report에서 default가 될 것이며, 이를 clear 하거나 변경하기 위해 LOV를 사용할 수 있다.
    Keep the MO profiles in sync:
    MO: Security Profile은 site와 responsibility level로 setting 할 수 있다.
    MO: Default Operating Unit은 site, responsibility, user level로 setting 할 수 있다.
    Application이 원하는대로 동작되지 않는것을 발견하면 이 profile options의 setting 값을 확인한다.
    3. OM setup:
    R12 upgrade 시 OM Profile에서 migrate 된 새로운 OM System Parameters를 확인:
    Order Management Super User> Setup> System Parameters> Values
    (See <<NOTE 393646.1>>-R12 Readiness Cheat Sheet: Migrated OM Profile Options)
    4. Form에서 hidden field 'Operatin Unit'를 활성화시키고 default folder로 저장:
    Sales Order and Order Organizer forms
    Quick Sales order and Organizer forms
    Sales Agreement forms
    Pricing and Availability form
    Other forms
    Note: Sales Order form에서 hidden field 'Operating Unit'를 'Show' 하기 전에 fotm안에 이 field를 위한 공간을 만들어 놓아야 한다.
    예를 들면 Customer Number field를 짧게 하거나 Operating Unit field로 이 field를 덮어씌울수 있다.

    Hi Larry,
    Have you considered adding the exec apps.mo_global.set_policy_context call to your connection's start-up script?
    Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Filename for connection startup scriptNot the most flexible approach, so I'm not sure if it is appropriate for your application, but just a thought. You might create distinct connection names with different start-up scripts for each org_id.
