Weekly report in obiee (date + 7 , date + 14)

Hi ,
I am doing reporting on aging where i have due date and due amount measure. For the same due date i want to display only weekly data in report. Suppose we have due date like 02/01/2003,02/02/2003,02/03/2003 then i want 02/01/2003 , 02/08/2003 ,02/15/2003 ,02/22/2003.How this weekly format for pariticular date can be achieved where suppose any date + 7

Hi,
can you be a little more speccific on what you want?
Do you want to filter the due date for date+ 7, date + 14 (wich means only some day of week : eg. sunday)
or do you want something like:
02/01/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/02/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/03/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/04/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/05/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/06/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/07/2003 02/01/2003 amount..
02/08/2003 02/08/2003 amount..
02/09/2003 02/08/2003 amount..
in first case you shoud filter using DAYOFWEEK(expr)...
in second case something like first(due_date by time_dim.week) should work...

  • Pulling in data from two cubes in one common report in OBIEE

    Hi,
    We have a scenario wherein we are using Oracle OLAP Cubes as data source for reporting against OBIEE v10.1.3.3.2. The specific question that we have can be exemplified as below:
    The Analytic Workspace (as created using AWM) has the following seven dimensions:
    Dimension A
    Dimension B
    Dimension C
    Dimension D
    Dimension E
    Dimension F
    Dimension G
    Based on the above dimensions, we have the following cubes:
    Cube One : Dimension A, Dimension B, Dimension C, Dimension D and Dimension E
    Cube Two : Dimension D, Dimension E, Dimension F, Dimension G
    So essentially, we have two cubes in the same Analytic Workspace and they do have a few dimensions in common.
    What we now need to know is how best to include these two cubes in the same logical model in the business and presentation layers of the OBIEE repository - this needs to be done because we want to include measures from both the cubes in a common report.
    Any ideas on the implementation of this scenario are highly appreciated.

    Piyush

    Hello Wildmight,
    I am sorry for the duplicate updates - and I regret the inconvenience caused.
    Here is what we are trying to achieve:
    We have a Business Domain wherein two measures are of importance : M1 and M2. Also, we now know that M1 and M2 are dimensioned as below:
    M1 - Dimensions A, B, C, D , E , F, G and H
    M2 - Dimensions C, D , F and G
    Hence, we are looking at an AW with 8 dimensions and two cubes : One for M1 with 8 dimensions and the other for M2 with 4 dimensions. Also, here comes the need to have a report wherein we can see the values of M1 and M2 in the same report and then do some calculations and analysis using both the figures at the same time. What we now need to know is how best to include these two cubes (which have 4 dimensions in common) in the same logical model in the business and presentation layers of the OBIEE repository so that we can address the reporting requirement of having values of M1 and M2 in the same report.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Piyush

  • BI Publisher Word Template The report does not contain any data fields.

    I have OBIEE BI Publisher report (10.3.4) working fine using BIP but using MS Word 2003 I want to create new template and want to add charts etc.
    Step 1. In MS Word I successfully login Oracle BI Publisher as Administrator
    2. Oracle BI Publisher -> Open (I open the report)
    3. Go to Insert -> Table Wizard
    I get this error:
    The report does not contain any data fields. Please make sure that the reports generates data with the default settings or provide a valid XML file.
    Please help

    Hi
    How do I load XML data? Also why XML data load is required? Do I have to export XML data from BIP View screen and load from the same file from the word?
    Please clarify
    Thanks

  • Is there any connectors between - OBIEE RPD & Big Data

    Is there any connector between - OBIEE RPD & Big Data? How we will get structured & unstructured data into OBIEE RPD to generate reports?

    Not sure what you want to achieve here... however.. what I read is that you would like to have a way to get unstructured data into structured so you can report on it using OBIEE. (Correct?).
    Depending on the amount of data and the things you need to do to it before you can structure it you can create a map/reduce function and use Hadoop. There is a connector to push the hadoop results into the Oracle database. Then you could use OBIEE to report on the now structured data in the Oracle database.
    As I do not know the details of what you like to achieve,..... this is a solution I would start looking into if I where you. :-)

  • BO report with additive and nonadditive data

    Hi.
    Sorry if this is duplicated question.
    I need to design datamarts, universe and a report.
    I have the next figures in the report:
    Date (lookup date Year / Month / Week / Day) - Dimention. May be list of date on the same report (2013 Jan, Mar, Nov)
    Sale, USD - Measure SUM for each period
    Balans, USD - Measure. Have to show figure on the last date of each selected periods.
    Example:
    Prompt = list (Jan 2013, Mar 2013, Nov 2013)
    Date...........Jan'13...........Mar'13...............Nov'13
    Sale...........100...............200...................300
    Balans.......1000.............2000.................3000
    Table Example:
    Good..................Date....................Sale..................Balans
    Mobile................01/01/2013...........50.....................950
    Charger..............01/15/2013...........50.....................1000
    iPad...................03/01/2013...........100...................1900
    USB Cable..........03/15/2013...........100...................2000
    LapTop...............11/01/2013...........150...................1850
    Charger...............03/15/2013...........150...................3000
    May I use one table only (as I showed above Table Example) with columns: Good, Date, Sale, Balans and to configure Univers to catch SUM(Sale) and Balans on the last date of each selected period?
    Could you provide please the best way for this case?
    Thank you in advance.

    It is doesn't metter how I receive Balance.
    I need AGGREGATE SUM of Sales and catch Balance of the last day selected period (bold figures on the tebles below).
    Good..................Date....................Sale..................Balans
    Mobile................01/01/2013...........50.....................950
    Charger..............01/15/2013...........50.....................1000

    Hello mlazaretti. Vacation time is awesome. (Especially a road trip!) Since you will be going out for two weeks, you never know if having extra data may come in handy. I highly recommend switching to the next tier up so this way you have more data. This way it is only $10.00 more versus $15.00, and you dont have to worry about overages. Then change back at the start of the next billing cycle.
    If you need help making this change let us know! Have a safe trip!

    > But system responds "Scope of list BEST_ALV not defined". What is the "BEST" solution for this.. (I am using 6.0)
    You Can Define your Own Scope of List ie BEST_ALV in the Following Path:
    SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Reporting-Maintaining Purchasing Lists-Scope Of Lists-Define Scope of List
    Just Copy the BEST Scope of List and Rename it to BEST_ALV and Save. Now Double Click on BEST_ALV and in Settings for ALV Grid Control Tab Put tick mark against Use ALV Grid Control and Save.

  • Aging report from a different base date

    Hi,
    There is a requirement in Aging report. The report should show the the 30, 30-60, 60-90 etc with a different base date/(reference date (OPEN DATE) in stead of the current date. In this case current date should be shown as RUNDATE and there should be one more date field as OPEN DATE  in the page footer.
    Please help me to solve this. Thanks in advance.
    BABASHARI

    Add a parameter for the date that you want to age by.  Use the datediff() function to determine the age of each item in a formula field that uses that age to group items by the range of dates desired (basic syntax):
    dim days as number
    days = datediff("d",{due date}, {?date parameter})
    if days < 31
      formula = "  0 to  30"
    elseif days < 61
      formula = " 31 to  60"
    elseif days < 91
      formula = " 61 to  90"
    elseif days < 121
      formula = " 91 to 120"
    else
      formula = "Over 120"
    end if

  • PLSQL function body returning an sql report returns ORA-01403 No Data Found

    I am on APEX 3.1.2.00.02 and Oracle 10g.
    I am developing a report with SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query) type. But on running the report I am getting
    report error:
    ORA-01403: no data found
    Region Source
    declare
      qry varchar2(32767);
    begin
      --Procedure call
      my_pkg.get_query(qry);
      htp.p(qry);
      return /*select 1 from dual */ qry;
    end;
    Procedure
    PROCEDURE get_query (V_QRY OUT VARCHAR2)
    IS
      qry varchar2(32767);
    begin
      qry := ' select name
         , max(decode(to_char(service_date,''Mon-YY''), ''Jan-09'', value, null)) as "Jan-09"
         , max(decode(to_char(service_date,''Mon-YY''), ''Jan-09'', value, null)) as "Feb-09"
         from MY_TABLE
         group by name ';
      V_QRY := qry;
    end;
    The query will be enhanced later to add more months and year based on user parameters once I am successfull in running report on this.
    I wish to use Query Specific Column names. I have seen this suggestion from Scott in a number of threads to use /*select 1 from dual */ with query but not working in my case.
    Can someone please suggest what can I do to make it working?
    Regards,
    Amir

    Firstly, have you unit tested the procedure (namely, within the SQL Workshop, SQL*Plus, SQL Developer,etc, etc.) to see if it produces the right output in the first place?
    If you have, and the query string generated is valid, try assigning the output to a page item (thus allowing you to view it in the session browser) or even pass the procedure output into the debug window (with the use of the wwv_flow.debug function). This might reveal some state or session change which is causing it not to return.You might find this easier to achieve if you change from a 'procedure and out parameter' combination to a 'function returning string' approach.
    Alternatively, try re-creating the report in a new region - occasionally I've come across weird bugs with report regions which resolved themselves in this manner.

  • PL/SQL function body returning SQL - report error:ORA-01403: no data found

    Hi,
    I am working on Application Express 4.0.2.00.06, and 11G database.
    I have a problem with classic report area of type - PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. Query works if I define region area as - Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only), and does not when I define it - Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query.
    I am getting error:
    report error:ORA-01403: no data found
    This is my query that is returned from function, and displayed with htp.p, and it works ok and returns data in SQL Developer and SQL Workshop (in Apex).

  • Report does not show data , but data exists in the cube.

    Hi All,
    I have a situation where I could not show the data in the report. When I load data from an extractor 0CO_OM_WBS_1 into a Cube directly I am able to show the data in my report. When I load the same extractor to a DSO and from the DSO when I load it into the Cube, the data does not show up in the query. To check the data I use the same restriction and could see the data reside in the cube (LISTCUBE). I compressed the requests, still it is not showing up in the query. No aggregates create on the cube.
    It shows the data if I load directly from the extractor, but not when I load data thru DSO.
    Any ideas.
    Alex(Arthur Samson)

    Hi Alex,
    I am facing same problem, i have data in cube but in report i cant see....
    i have created a generic DS, i loaded the data to DSO  then CUBE.
    data is loaded succesfully and i can see data in CUBE ( Manage ), when i am running the repory i am not getting data.
    i think you solve this issue... plz help me to resolve this issue.

  • Report template enhancement? no data found message

    I have a layout in which I want to show the excel export link in the same html table as a logo, so that code needs to be placed in the report template, but when no data is found I still want to show the logo and so all my reports have the same html code in the "no data found" field. Whenever I want to change this I have to change my template as well as all of my reports.
    Wouldn't it be a nice idea to provide for a "no data found" message in the report template instead of the report itself? I can imagine you would want to show the same "no data found" message anyway for all reports so the template would be a logical place to put this.

    There are known issues with Interactive Reports referencing :REQUEST value, probably due to some inner logic that also handles it simultaneously - potentially causing malfunction or deadlocks.
    One workaround I've learned is to create a computation to assign :REQUEST to a temporary item (a PXX_REQUEST, for instance) and reference it in the query, instead of :REQUEST. This has worked fine for me in my experience.
    Let me know if that helps - pls sign the thread as 'Useful' or 'Correct' if so, hence more people can benefit.

  • Fixed report period based on current date

    I want to create a report containing records over a fixed period without using a date parameter. As a example I would like the report to continually draw on data that is no more than say ten years from the current date.
    E.g. Current date (xx/xx/2008) to (Current date - 10 years) or xx/xx/1998 then next year the formula would automatically adjust to current date (xx/xx/2009) to (Current date - 10 years) or xx/xx/1999.
    I am only a novice when it comes to designing reports so please bear that in mind.

    Hi,
    Create a RecordSelectionFormula and subtract 10 years from the current date with the DateAdd formula.
    E.g.
    //DateAdd (intervalType, nIntervals, startDateTime)
    {Table.Date} > DateAdd ("yyyy", -10, CurrentDate)
    The DateAdd function has more interval types, so you can subtract months, days, hours as well. Check the CR help file and search for DateAdd for details.
    Cheers,
    Fritz
