Weird Errors on running applescript

Question

Hello everyone,
I am new to applescript and with a decent amount of googling about, I managed to write a script that would write out the state of skype to a file. This is how it goes:
tell application "System Events" to set theCount to the count of (processes whose name is "Skype")

I could run this without errors till today and after a restart, whenever I run this, I keep getting errors that go as:

I did search a few forums for this problems but I could only find one post on a forum which had no replies yet. What is going on here?

I get these errors even when using the (seemingly unrelated) say command in terminal:
[~]$ say test (10-09 00:46)
[000:028] MagicCam 0: Current process: say, Flash is loaded: no
[000:028] Error(magiccammac.cc:276): MagicCam 0: MagicCamOpen: Not an allowed process!
[000:002] MagicCam 0: Current process: say, Flash is loaded: no
[000:002] Error(magiccammac.cc:276): MagicCam 0: MagicCamOpen: Not an allowed process!
[000:001] MagicCam 1: Current process: say, Flash is loaded: no
[000:001] Error(magiccammac.cc:276): MagicCam 1: MagicCamOpen: Not an allowed process!
[000:002] MagicCam 1: Current process: say, Flash is loaded: no
[000:002] Error(magiccammac.cc:276): MagicCam 1: MagicCamOpen: Not an allowed process!
previously it was a magiccamopen.cc:276 error, but i uninstalled an older version of the google video and voice plugin and that went away entirely. I installed the latest version and its back with its new name above "magiccammac".
This is clearly an error in the plugin.
