Weirdest iPhone behavior yet... any guesses?

OK, I'll just list the weird stuff my phone does, and you guys can feel free to dissect it. First the pertinent details:
Version: 1.1.4 (4A102)
Model: MA712LL
Modem Firmware: 04.04.05_G
Not jailbroken or unlocked
So here's my symptoms:
1.) If iPhone is syncing with iTunes (latest version) I can slide to cancel sync and use iPhone and phone will still be syncing in background.
2.) My friend's iPhones' battery life usually hits 2 days standby + 6-8 hours use. My Brand new iPhone (approx 1 month old) and avg battery life is 22 hrs standby and 4-6 hours usage: Bluetooth, WiFi both off, email set to sync manually, brightness relatively low and automatic, not struggling with poor signal.
3.) iPhone freezes relatively often; will press home button and unlock, then screen goes blank and I have to do it again. Browsing pics makes screen jumpy as opposed to smooth scrolling.
4.) If phone is completely off, and I plug it in to charge, phone automatically turns on.
5.) I don't listen to music at high volume, and I take pretty good care of my stuff, but I'm on my 3rd set of headphones in 5 weeks. First set blew out, second set, the clicker stopped pausing music/jumping songs/answering phone, but mic still worked.

This is normal.
If you want to charge an iPhone while off, you must connect it to a power source - your computer or the wall charger and then power the iPhone off.
Excluding the problems you've had with the earbuds, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Have you tried a Reset and if no change afterwards, a Restore?
If no change after a Reset and Restore, give AppleCare a call [phone], or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
