Wfload erroring out (workflow, standalone, on 10r2 database on linux)
I'm having problems installing workflow workflow 10.1.0.3 on my Ubuntu linux
box, that is running an oracle 10 release 2 database.
The Workflow configuration agent (that is started via this script:
$ORACLE_HOME/wf/install/wfinstall.csh), claims that everything is
fine ("WorkflowCA: Workflow Configuration has completed successfully."),
but looking at the workflow log file reveals following errors when wfload
is invoked:
WFLDR_LEVEL_LOG MODE=UPLOAD LEVEL=100
wferr:
- WFLOAD_LANG_NOT_SET
- WFUPI_FAIL MESSAGE=ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist
STATEMENT=SELECT NLS_LANGUAGE FROM WF_LANGUAGES WHERE :l IN (NLS_LANGUAGE, CODE)
Has anybody else experienced the same problem ?
One thought:
I've configured the database language and region as AMERICAN but with
character set WE8ISO9959P1 (so not the default US7ASCII), and I've
experimented with different settings for NLS_LANG, NLS_LANGUAGE,..
but to no avail.
Another thought:
Is this due to the fact that it is workflow 10r1 talking to a 10r2 database ?
(ie. should I install a 10r1 database ?)
Any idea?
Regards,
Willem
I have very limited idea about the charsets. With whatever I know..
You can install your database with whatever charset that you want as long as the data that you are storing in the database can be stored in that charset. I am sure US7ASCII is a sub-set of WE8ISO9959P1 and all characters in US7ASCII are supported in WE8ISO9959P1 charset.
Also, the entries in WF_LANGUAGES are only suggested character sets for data represented in that language. So the whole setup seems valid to me and the error seems to be from somewhere else.
SR with Oracle support might help.
Thanks

As you were told at http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/what-error-is-this/td-p/2028382
the way to solve this problem is to learn SQL
This is not a problem with LabVIEW. -

Adapter JNDI are errored out in JNDI tree on Weblogic
Hey,
I have setup weblogic 10.3.4 and SOA Suite 11g.
The adapters seem to be deployed and active with a green 'OK' status in the deployments on the soa_server1. However when I go to the jndi tree for the soa_server1, all the adapters have an '!' for errored out.
This is causing various problems. In particular when a process using the Oracle Apps Adapter is deployed it is unable to find the jdbc connection associated with the adapter. However, the jdbc jndi entry is in the tree and the jdbc connection test's just fine.
So there seems to be a missing link in how the adapters are deployed and how the JNDI is getting updated or something.
The error is below. Any help appreciated.

11gR2 Install Error, Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it
Hi all,
I'm currently studying towards my OCA, I've passed 1z0-051 (SQL Fundementals I), and now I'm moving onto 1z0-052 (Admin 1).
Im really having trouble creating a database in Oracle 11g R2 Enterprise Edition. I install the software no problem. Then I create a database, and during the creation I have to createsa listener which uses TCP (default port:1521) and IPC. whilst creating the database I get the following error
'Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. Start the Listener and register database service and run EM configuration Assistant again.'
Now, before you lynch me, I have searched this forum for answer to this for a day and a half. I've also tried google, i just can't find a answer that sorts out my problem. please assist me.
I'm running on Windows 7 Professional (32bit) (I have previously tried on the 64 bit version with teh same results).

Many thanks for any assistance that you give. I'm learning so be gentle...
DamienSOLVED!
OK all solved now, thanks to the link to Ed Stevens website that Baris posted (mucho respect )
Seems that like Barus said I was not using Dynamic Registration, which means that I would need to manua
ly update the listerner.ora file. On top of that it seems that for some my tnsnames.ora wasn't resolving mt database name so the tnsping wasfailing.
What I did to solve the name resolution problem
1. Opened the
Network Configuration Assistant and saw that my listener didnt have my DB registered with it. So I added it. What this horrible GUI tool does is update the tnsnames and listener.ora files for you. So once that was done I went to the command prompt and did ;'tnsping <dn name> and hey presto it was getting a nice response.
Then I re-ran my DB Configuration Assistant and tried to reconfigure my database. However it aing failed and gave me the same message that I was originally getting about the DB Service not being registered etc..the lister status still said that same thing:
Services Summary...
Service "CLRExtProc" has 1 instance(s).
Instance "CLRExtProc", status UNKNOWN, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
the 'unknown' means that the DB didnt tell the listener that it was there but instead the listener is in manual mode and will just use the configuration in the listener.ora to know where the DB is.
So then I followed the steps on the ED Stevens website (follow the link). He has steps which show how to enable Dynanmic registration so that your DB regusters itself with the listener. In a nutshell, he states that he listener actually doesnt need the listerner.ora if using dynamic registration. I shutdown the DB, stopped the listener then I renamed the lsitener.ora to listerner.old, then started the lietener and checked the status and it said 'the listener supports no service' I then started the DB and, then resched teh listener status, it then read 'status: READY'... hooray!, the DB had dynamically registered itself with the listener. I then was able to successfully start up and run Enterprise Manager.
Thanks for all your help Baris, and Ed Steven website.
I know more now than when I started so I'm happy.
Thanks. -
Shared Data Source with prompted credentials - errors out.
Using Data Tools (VS 2010) to build report.
Have built a simple report while trying to diagnose this issue. This report is created in a project that was originally built in BIDS2008 and migrated to Data Tools 2010. This project contains an original shared dataset that does NOT
error out.
Report contains
1) shared data source with properties set to prompted credentials.
2) shared dataset using data source above
3) 2 parameters (month and year)
4) Report uses shared dataset
5) 2 text boxes in the report body to display the parameters values.
When I try to preview this report I get the error:
The execution failed for the shared data set "xxx"
Cannot create a connection to data source 'Data source for shared dataset'
Security processing failed with reason "3" ("password missing")
Now, if I changed that same shared dataset to use a static login and password; the report renders fine.
What is going on???Hi RoseNeedsAVacation,
When you use shared data source with "Prompt for credential" option, please use SQL Server login credential to u view the report in BIDS or SSDT report designer environment.
Note: The shared data source will automatic switch to SQL Server authentication mode if we use "Prompt for credential" option.
After you deploy your report and shared data source to report server, please remember to configure your shared data source to use "Credentials supplied by the user running the report" option. Furthermore, select "Use
as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" checkbox if the credentials that the user provides are Windows Authentication credentials. Do not select this check box if you are using database authentication (for example, SQL
Server Authentication).
For more information, please refer to the article below:

Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Regards,
Hari -
The error 600 occurred in the current database connection "LCA".
Hi All,
User is executing job /SAPAPO/TS_REALIGN_COPY in background, as soon as the job is released its failing with runtime error:
I check the Note 1126394 but not relevant.
Runtime Errors DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR
Exception CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR
Date and Time 18.08.2011 00:03:39
Short text
An SQL error occurred when executing Native SQL.
What happened?
The error 600 occurred in the current database connection "LCA".
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
How to correct the error
Database error text........: "POS(1) Work rolled back: BAD_ALLOCATION in
SAPTS_COPY_DA"
Database error code........: 600
Triggering SQL statement...: "EXECUTE PROCEDURE SAPTS_COPY_DATA"
Internal call code.........: "[DBDS/NEW DSQL]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR" "CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR"
"/SAPAPO/SAPLOM_TIMESERIES" or "/SAPAPO/LOM_TIMESERIESU20"
"/SAPAPO/OM_TS_DATA_COPY"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "/SAPAPO/SAPLOM_TIMESERIES" - in
"/SAPAPO/OM_TS_DATA_COPY".
The main program was "/SAPAPO/TS_RLG_COPY_SINGLE ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 57
of the (Include) program "/SAPAPO/LOM_TIMESERIESU20".
The program "/SAPAPO/SAPLOM_TIMESERIES" was started as a background job.
Job Name....... "/SAPAPO/TS_REALIGN_COPY"
Job Initiator.. "CIBERNLAPO2"
Job Number..... 00015100
The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR" occurred
in
procedure "/SAPAPO/OM_TS_DATA_COPY" "(FUNCTION)", but it was neither handled
locally nor declared
in the RAISING clause of its signature.
The procedure is in program "/SAPAPO/SAPLOM_TIMESERIES "; its source code
begins in line
1 of the (Include program "/SAPAPO/LOM_TIMESERIESU20 ".
Kindly suggest any notes or is any setting needs to be modified.
Regards,
KaasiHello Ada,
the job was aborted due:
Database error text........: "POS(1) Work rolled back: BAD_ALLOCATION in
SAPTS_COPY_DA"
Database error code........: 600
Triggering SQL statement...: "EXECUTE PROCEDURE SAPTS_COPY_DATA"
Internal call code.........: "[DBDS/NEW DSQL]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
From the posted dump.
Was it lack of OMS heap memory, memory leaking, program error or huge data selection for application run it's not clear. It will be best for SAP customer to create the SAP message and get SAP support when application canceled due Database error BAD_ALLOCATION in LCA routine.
Regards, Natalia Khlopina -
Transfered photos from IMac with Iphoto 9 to a mac book with Iphoto 11 now Iphoto 09 errors out saying "You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto." We have not updated or changed anything on the IMac all we did is transfer photos. Any help would be appreciated.
LarryHN is correct. The only way this message occurs is if the iPhoto Library database is upgraded to a newer version.
You could try holding SHIFT-OPT-COMMAND when launching iPhoto from the dock and checking only "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" and hope it restores the previous database prior to the upgrade.
If that doesn't work, you can install iPhoto '11 on your iPhoto '09 computer. If I understood the iPhoto '11 Mac App License agreeement correctly, you can install it on any personal, non-commerical computer you own running 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7. -

How to get count of records inserted and errored out in an email
Hi
I have following question
I want to send report statics of scenario i.e Number of rows inserted during the scenario and
Number of rows in error in the scenario in an email. Here in my scenario I am trying to insert data into Essbase database and when i try to use getNbInserts() and getNbErrors functions of ODI in an email body, its giving zero value even though there 140 records inserted and 10 errored out.Can any one let me know how we get this number of records inserted and number of records errored in email.
Thanks in advance

Error in last step of copy database wizard
Hi All,
I am getting below mentioned error in copy database wizard. I am using SSMS 2012 to copy a database from one server to another server using attach and detach method. Been stuck in this issue for quite sometime. Please provide your insights...

P.S - I am able to query and fetch the results for "select * from master.dbo.spt_values;"
in both my SOURCE and DESTINATION databases.
But the table name is not visible under System databases--> master --> Tables --> System Tables in my DESTINATION database alone.
Thanks,
DeeJay007Hi,
Thanks for your response :). When I tried to attach the the database (.mdf and .ldf) and create a new database in DESTINATION server, it works fine. Only using "Copy database wizard" I face this problem. I am attempting this functionality from
the SQL Server 2012 instance
The Instances are not in same version. Find the specific details below for @@Version.
SOURCE Server Instance
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5500.0 (X64)
Sep 21 2011 22:45:45
Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation
Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.0 <X64> (Build 6002: Service Pack 2) (VM)
DESTINATION Server Instance
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3000.0 (X64)
Oct 19 2012 13:38:57
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.2 <X64> (Build 9200: ) (Hypervisor)
When you use the copy database functionality, your database gets upgraded to match the destination server version. The database cannot be downgraded, which is fine in your case. It could be a bug in the upgrade process between these two specific sql server
versions though.
Can you make a test with another destination instance, with the same version as the original destination (2012 SP1) just to rule out the possibility of system database corruption?
Does this happen with only a single database, or does the wizzard fail for any database you try to copy?
I have the "u_tables.sql" file which has the scripts for some master database tables. In the process of trying to rebuild the system database and if I lose the master DB contents, will executing the "u_tables.sql" be sufficient to restore
the details?? Many DB's are available in the server, so the risk is very high.
No. However, your application databases won't be affected. You'll lose all your server objects, including but not limited to logins, linked servers, backup triggers, server roles, etc. You'll also lose the contents of the msdb database (jobs, database mail
configurations, backup history, maintenance plans, etc). Please refer to the article I sent you for more information. It contains safety instructions on how to backup most of these objects.
Try to do the tests I suggested above before rebuilding your system databases.
Is there any restrictions for "Copy database wizard" which I am missing here?
No I dont think so. Based on the information you provided, it should be working. -
Previously stable custom OAF form intermittently errors out
Gurus,
A JDeveloper form that I developed for 11i a couple of years back which has been stable up until recently is now sporadically erroring out. The form seems to work if several attempts are made to apply the back button on the browser. The error message is as follows:
Error: Cannot Display Page
(Because one of the following occured)
1. Your login session has expired.
2. A system failure has occured.
Then it suggest using the page's navigational links instead
of the browsers Back and Forward control.
It's strange that the error is just now appearing and only appears in our UAT environment. Our Dev and Prod environments appear fine.
Has anyone seen this before?
We're using 11i Applications on a Linux forms server with a 10g database.
Thanks in advance for you help. Thanks for the responses. There was a problem with the file system (on the unix server) which was causing the cache to fail. I took the cache statements out of the project settings and could run it but the DBAs have since fixed the file problem so I have now put the cache statements back. The other form (that worked) is much smaller so I guess it did not make as much use of the cache.
