What Am I Covered for: 2YR 500-599.99 MOBL COMP GSP

I requested the coverage for accidents of any kind, several times. I made it clear, but now Im not sure given the price I paid for it. I bout an Acer computer. When I go online this kind of plan is priced for a total of 229 dlls. Please Help t

ok reading on the website i see the accidental plan for your laptop is $229.99, So it looks like you got the right plan. If you want to be absolutely sure, call 1-800-geeksquad and give them the GSP number. they can tell you exactly what is covered and if it accidental. the price is right for the coverage, but any ADH plans I have sold at my store have always listed ADH on the line with the plan. It has been a while since I personally rang out a laptop though. If you do go back to the store, yes bring the laptop as if they were to change the plan, they just have to make sure theres no damage before hand. its just a policy to do it this way, because some people would damage their product, then come in attempting to get the coverage without us inspecting it.
But to sum it up, yes i believe you do have an ADH plan. If you want to be 100% though for yourself, give 1-800-geeksquad a call and have them personally confirm it. you can change the plan if for some reason it is not right, but I believe it is right. you have 15 days to get this done just so you know =).
Even though I work for best buy, my posts and thoughts are that of my own and do NOT represent best buy in ANY WAY.

Sounds like it is most likely a hardware issue, if it powers off immediately. Most likely a bad stick of RAM. As you're going to do, take it in, and a diagnostic can be done on it(covered by your BTP).

  • What is error 5100 for multifunction printeers and how do you fix it?

what is error 5100 for multifunction printeers and how do you fix it?

I have a canon MG3200 printer. I have had this thing a whole TWO DAYS! i had issue after issue setting it up and then finally getting it to print the other day when I got it home. A simple 5 minute print job on any of the other printers I used to have, and it took almost 35 minutes to produce an almost decent quality for some important paperwork that I had to have in the following morning. Aside from that- (I just took that to mean it was the "learning" curve) I now tried to print a simple, one page document. Postage for a package to go out tomorrow morning via USPS. Lo and behold, it had a paper jam immediately. A bad one. Had to spend more than an hour searching around for ways to even get the covers off in order to pull the paper free. Got it cleared out, now the P-2-0, or 5100 error message is just blinking away. I've taking it back apart in the back 3 times now, taken the ink cartridges out and looked for paper jammed, not found anything, and now the blinking error won't go away. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to clear that error message??? I am about ready to return this printer to walmart, and get a different one. If it wn't work, then it does me no good. Thank you in advance for being able to virtually rant and rave about this. mediatrek wrote:
Usually an error 5100 code is saying that the ink carriage has problems. Usually something currently is or recently hammed the cartridge carriage. With the machine turned off and the power cord unplugged, open the machine and inspect the inside do you see any stray pieces of paper along the paper's usually route?
There is a way to reset the machine to clear out the error. I would need to know the exact model of your Canon.

  • What's the purpose for the two Wireless Antennas on a WAP?

I have a very simple question, that I'm a little confused about. Here it goes.
Most Access Points have two antennas. One is labeled as LEFT/PRIMARY and the other is RIGHT.
What is the purpose for the two antennas? When I have one antenna connected it works without any issues. Can I just use the LEFT/PRIMARY antenna for wireless connectivity? What are the purpose for the two?
And we are talking about a single band, 802.11b/g NOT 802.11a.
    Thank you!

    Hi Rashida,
The use of two Antennas on these AP's is used for "Diversity Mode. In many cases, 1 single Antenna will work nicely. Here is an explanation for the use of two Antennas :)
    This describes the use of 2 **Identical Antennas in "Diversity" Mode;
The purpose of diversity is to overcome multipath reflections. Diversity antennas that share the same physical housing are placed at an optimum distance apart. The maker of the particular antenna determines that distance based on the characteristics of the antenna. When you use a pair of antennas with matching characteristics to provide diversity for cell coverage in your facility, the guideline is to put those matched antennas at a distance apart from each other that is equal to a multiple of the wavelength of the frequency that is being transmitted. The 2.4 GHz wavelength is approximately 4.92 inches. Therefore, to support diversity on a 2.4 GHz radio with two separate antennas, the antennas should be spaced approximately 5 inches apart. The antenna pair could also be spaced at multiples of 5 inches, but the distance between should not exceed 4 multiples: reflected waves farther apart than that are likely to be so distorted and different in delay spread that the radio could not work with them.Because each antenna is selected by itself, both antennas must have the same radiation characteristics and be positioned to provide similar cell coverage.
**** Two antennas connected to the same access point must not be used to cover two different cells.****
    From this good doc;
    Multipath and Diversity
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_tech_note09186a008019f646.shtml
A diversity antenna system can be compared to a switch that selects one antenna or another, never both at the same time. The radio in receive mode will continually switch between antennas listening for a valid radio packet. After the beginning sync of a valid packet is heard, the radio will evaluate the sync signal of the packet on one antenna, then switch to the other antenna and evaluate. Then the radio will select the best antenna and use only that antenna for the remaining portion of that packet.
On transmit, the radio will select the same antenna it used the last time it communicated to that given radio. If a packet fails, it will switch to the other antenna and retry the packet.
One caution with diversity, it is not designed for using two antennas covering two different coverage cells. The problem in using it this way is that, if antenna no. 1 is communicating to device no. 1 while device no. 2 (which is in the antenna no. 2 cell) tries to communicate, antenna no. 2 is not connected (due to the position of the switch), and the communication fails. Diversity antennas should cover the same area from only a slightly different location."
    Diversity Antenna Systems
Diversity antenna systems are used to overcome a phenomenon known as multipath distortion of multipath fading. It uses two **identical antennas, located a small distance apart, to provide coverage to the same physical area.
    From this Antenna reference guide;

  • What are performance limits for HFM 11.1 64-bit?

    Hello All,
Does anybody tried subj or have any Oracle/Hyperion materials about 64-bit version?
How much RAM can HFM 64-bit take? (32-bit one could eat 2GB only)
What it recommended limit for base records number in sub-cubes?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Mike,
In version 11.1.2.3.500, the performance of the GUI has been decreased comparing to previous versions due to the use of the ADF. However, there are parameters in the system that you can change in order to improve the situation. The best approach is to contact an infrastructure consultant who will review the system and edit the OHS/IIS parameters.
Additionally, there is a rumor that version 11.1.2.4 has solved these issues and hopefully a few more.
I am sure that you will find more info on EPM System Infrastructure

    Hi,
I would suggest using the Adobe Support Advisor which will analyze installation log files to detect the cause of the problem and will also try to point you to troubleshooting documents relevant to the error you are facing.
The above link will will also help you with downloading and using the Support Advisor.

  • Port Access Covers for MacPro

    Hi,
I just wondered if anybody knows where to order (in the UK) port access covers for the Mac Pro (early 2009). I just need to cover a port, and cannot find anywhere on the internet that sells them.
Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Many thanks,
    Adrian

    Hi Dave,
Is my mind playing tricks, or is that a new bar I see? Regardless, my heartiest congratulations!
Yes, what I was trying to get across to the poster is that while an Apple site may not list them, they could have them anyway. And, two, calling an Apple Tech might get some through them. They will send out small items from time to time.
Lastly, I know for myself I have a dozen or so for different models, including this one, hanging around somewhere. A walk-in Apple Store must have many more than that, just taking up space.
And truly, the last, last, temporary but effective solution one can do, as I had to awhile ago when my room looked like a meteor hit,... Duct tape. Even has the added benefit of being a dust magnet, but it's not cool looking, so temporary only.

  • Do cases/covers for iPad mini 1 fit iPad mini 2 with it being 2mm thicker in depth?

    Hi
Just wondering do cases/covers for iPad mini 1 fit iPad mini 2? Only some people say they do, some say they don't what with it being 2mm thicker in depth & having an extra microphone?
    Thanks in advance

To be sure stop by the Apple Store, tell them you're thinking about getting a mini and you'd like to see if it would fit  in your case. Don't try it without first asking.

  • What is the Tcodes for Uploading of data using BDC & CATT

    PP members:
I was going through the <b>cutover activities</b> ,  and what I understood is  we transfer all the legacy system data into SAP before going live
The data upload follows certain steps (depends on the organizational design load strategies)
First we upload all the master data ( material master, BOM, W/C's & Routings)
Then the transaction data ( Ideally speaking, there should no open orders i.e. WIP as on the day of cutoff )
If the WIP (Work in Process) is unavoidable then the materials consumed shall be treated as <b>materials of the previous stage</b> and necessary adjustments shall be made after cutover day
At this point, I could not able to understand what does the author mean <b>materials of the previous stage</b>
Now comming to the uploading of data into SAP from legacy system, we use tools like LSMW, CATT & BDC
Is it a must to use <b>only LSMW tool</b> to upload master data or any other upload tools are fine
Lastly,. I am not sure about the Tcode of CATT & BDC
    Summary of the questions:
1.What does the author mean  <b>material of previous stage</b>, for WIP materials during cutover activities
    2. Is it mandatory to use only LSMW tool for uploading for master data
    3. What are the Tcodes for upload tools CATT & BDC ?
    Thanks for your time
    Suren R

    Dear,
1.What does the author mean material of previous stage, for WIP materials during cutover activities - as i understood, what is the stage of material..like it must have gone through 2 work centers and other 2 is left. i.e. you need to create Production order with only 2 operation as other 2 is already over. - usually it is done in such a way that we will create Production order and confirm till 2 operations and WIp is calculated so thatb FI will tally the books in SAP and lagacy.
    2. Is it mandatory to use only LSMW tool for uploading for master data - no you can use any tool as required and suits yr requirement
    3. What are the Tcodes for upload tools CATT & BDC- BDC through a prog in SE38. CATT through - SCEM.

  • 1,1 running Lion with XP Boot (re-install and what should i use for recovery disk or usb stick)?

i am trying to give my 1,1 mac pro a little love and would like to keep this machine running lion. i also have a boot camp installation of XP on it.
    1. can anyone give me instructions on how/whether i can basically do a fresh install of Lion on this machine and minimize the system so it is not cluttered up with all my previous software etc, etc while still maintaining the original XP boot camp partition which i really need to have?
    2. can anyone clarify for me what i should have on hand /if/ i need to boot into recovery mode or some other safe boot mode? i recently ran into an issue where i may have had to use the old Disk Utility format function and there was a reference to booting using the DVD install disks. however i am really confused as to what i should have on hand. ALSO the last time i had to do something on this machine i was told to boot into the Recovery Partition and it appears for some reason (perhaps because i had a "non-standard" windows 7 boot camp installation on the drive at the time??) that there was no recovery partition created when i upgraded to Lion.
    - /anyway/ i am finding that i have the two ORIGINAL install disks for the mac pro on hand, a Max OS X Leopard and a mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD on hand but i am thinking that i should be creating some kind of USB stick similar to the one i created with yosemite? actually, i am not even sure what this USB stick for yosemite is for but i guess i can use it to boot into safe mode or something?
THANKS for any help as i'd like to get this business under control a little better in case i have an issue.
i'd also like to install Lion so that there is a Recovery Partition if possible and i think this may be possible if i don't have the windows 7 partition in the machine when i do a fresh install. any help would be great. thanks.

You have to go out of your way to build the Installer Disk yourself. But this tool makes it easy, and this site contains instructions:
    http://diskmakerx.com
the bootable installer is basically to re-install the OS if i have to
    Yes.
the recovery partition is somehow for fixing a problem
Recovery can go and get you the software and re-download it and start the Install, and allows the use of Disk Utility and can reset passwords.
    or is there some overlap?
Yes. Both give you access to the Utilities that used to be on the Installer DVD. Disk Utility to Repair or initialize and a few other tools that can allow you to set up to install on an otherwise-bare disk or change your password.
is "Safe Mode" something completely different
Safe Mode is a way to start the fully-Installed Operating System in a special way. It first does one pass of Disk Utility (Repair Disk) against the Boot Drive. [Normally this would require booting from a different drive to make repairs.] Then it loads a minimal set of Apple-only kernel extensions, and uses a one-size-fits-all screen resolution. Then it demands your Username and password to proceed.
From there you can fix settings, use the Finder to add or delete things, and check operation with minimal extensions versus all your daily-use extensions. Very helpful for debugging extension conflicts and graphics settings problems, and fixing damaged settings. The next Restart builds a new extensions cache.

My ipod nano 6th gen fell out of my pocket and the screen cracked badly, is there any coverage for this under warranty? I just bought it a month ago. That's where I would begin, too, with
    Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.
