ROWID can be thought of as a pointer to the physical location (on disk) of the (table) row.
From a ROWID value, Oracle can extract the file, block-within-that-file and offset-of-the-row-within-that-block. Using these, Oracle can directly access a disk block to retrieve a row.
ROWNUM is a just sequence number of a row within a result set of a query.
As said by other repliers, both are not stored. They are 'constructed' when you reference them inside a query.

I have friends all over Europe, does it matter what number they use to call me? Nope! All incoming calls are free for me.
The only time you ever have to worry about which number is if you get charged for incoming domestic/international calls.
You can tag their number (work/home/iphone) and that may show on the CallerID accordingly.
It should show, John Doe
underneath, work/home/mobile

My iTunes keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, including recreating the entire database, and it is still doing it. I recently upgraded to 10.5. Any ideas?

iTunes starts fine, and I can do stuff, then within a minute or two or three it gives me an error message pop-up.

Windows can check nline for a solution to the problem.

Say for example we have created a pdf file and uploaded this to KM Folder in the portal server.
How and where this files stored in the server.
Whether they are stored as objects in the database or in any location of the hard disk as a file system.
If in database, please let me know the table name and how to access it.
If in the hard disk, then please provide me the location.

I've deleted Pages and Keynote because they were not working, and can't install them now.

Good morning. First of all, sorry for my english, i'm spanish.
Today I've tried to open Pages to write a document, and the App would not open. When I click the icon, the App Store opens instead and says if i want to purchase the app. I've tried to say yes, because i thought this may be an update, but when i click yes, it says its unable to do anything.
So, i've tried with keynote and the behaviour was the same. Click on the icon and the app store opens with the same message. Numbers works fine. I'm on Mavericks, so nothing to do with Yosemite.
I've uninstalled Pages and Keynote because i thought that with the update from the other day, these two apps my have been corrputed, and i was going to install them again, but my surprise is that when I look for Pages, instead of letting me install it, it appears that i have to pay 17,99€ when i always had it for free!!
I've got a Macbook Pro 13" Retina late 2013 for a few months, and this is my first issue. Whan can i do? I Had these apps for free, and i don't want to expend so much money in two apps.
I really need help. Thank you.

Is it possible to save a PDF document in the database as a blob column and to retrieve the PDF when clicking on the link
Example
Above method is possible for images

This Upload and Download Files is very useful feature in APEX.
However, is there a way of displaying PDF files first in the report by clicking the corresponding link
in the table?
I mean, is it possible to view PDF files first by clicking the link before deciding to download them?
As we see, this approach is used by most websites and after opening and viewing a PDF file, we can save them.

HT4623 The software pages and numbers are corrupt. How can I download software again to reinstall on iPad.

I downloaded pages and numbers via iTunes on my laptop, then transferred to iPad. Software is corrupt it won't open. On the laptop it tells me the dies are corrupt. How do I download then again since the corrupt versions are in iTunes.

You can only do this via iTunes. Remove the ones in iTunes and redownload.
Note that there are different versions for iDevices and computers. They cannot be interchanged, and they must be purchased separately.

Is the time and date correct on the iPod? Check time zone too.
If yu have iOS 5, go to Settings>General>Time&Date and set it to Automatic.

T/Code: CO53 (Control Recipe Monitor)
You will get control recipe generated for this process order. Select the control recipe and click on u201CSendu201D.
You will see that status will be changed to u201CSentu201D after refreshing the screen.
PI Sheet maintenance
Now, you can view the PI Sheet generated using T/Code: CO60.
Press execute button (F8) you will come to see the PI Sheet generated screen.
Now in the first phase of PI Sheet enter your u201CUseridu201D for digital signature.
Enter password, so that user (PIUSER) can authorize the process.
After entering all the values you can save the PI Sheet and can set it to u201CTechnically Completeu201D as below.
After Tech completing the PI sheet, the order status get changed from CRCR (Control Recipe Created) to CRFI (Control Recipe Finished).
Process Messages execution
As you process/execute the PI sheet, resp. process messages get generated. You can view the generated messages in Process Message Monitor (CO54).
Now you can see the different process messages generated,
Now select all process messages and click on Send tab to send them to the control recipe destination. Refresh the screen so that you will get the status of the process messages as u201CSentu201D.
After sending these messages to the respective destination, the system posts the goods movements (i.e. GI, GR) in background and update the statistics. You can process the process messages after completion of each phase or after the completion of the PI sheet.

Manupulating Excel File Stored In Database

Is there any way I can manipulate the excel file that is stored in the database as LONG RAW ?
I need to allow user to manupulate the excel file that is stored in database and accordingly fetch the specific data from that manipulated Excel File of Database.

Your best bet is to keep the data in tables and generate a new excel file each time. Search this forum on how to generate excel files.. Here are three techniques... I like the XML method..
1) OLE2
2) XML
3) CSV
I have also done this using webutil..
1) retrieve excel blob from db to client using webutil function db_to_client_with_progress()
2) manipulate excel file on client using CLIENT_OLE2
3) put excel file back in db using webutil function client_to_db_with_progress()

We have a web application that stores files in a separate folder outside the database, we want to do real time backup (while the users are connected to the application). If we run a scheduled task to backup the database and then the files, then the database and files will be out of sync, because if the database backup takes 5 mins for instance, then we will be backing up the files that are related to some records that were not added to backup.
What is the best way to do real time backup for database and external files so that we have them both in synch?

Perhaps you're thinking about RAID, an acronym for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks? That's not specific to Oracle by any means, it's a very common way of setting up multiple disks in a server so that the failure of one or two disks doesn't cause the system to lose any data. If you're dealing with a server of any size or any sort of SAN or NAS device, it is going to use RAID, the question is which form of RAID (there are different sorts of configurations with different levels of cost, performance, and durability).
