What are these gray lines on my screen?

I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, but I haven't been able to find a really good answer to what these are??
I took a photo of my startup screen (the lines only show really well on gray or dark gray backgrounds; white you can't really see them as clear). On the left, it's hard to see, but it looks like a hard-edged light-gray rectangle going down the monitor, and on the right is a large gray line/blob with a few tiny lines up above, towards the right of the screen.
They don't show up in screenshots, and I use the LCD Scrub screen saver, but that doesn't seem to help get rid of them. I don't know if it's dust, or pixels, or a burn-in on my screen...I'm confused on what it is officially known as, how it gets here, and how to fix/remove it without having to buy a new screen??
Thanks for your help!

Could be a possible GPU issue, only way to tell for sure is to take it in for professional diagnostics.

  • What are these strange lines  on my scrollbars?

I have these strange yellow lines on my scrollbars when I scroll down a terribly long page very fast.
    What are they?

Actually, these diagonal lines indicate that the source footage is shorter than that indicated in the timeline.
This can typically happen if you have placed footage in the timeline and subsequeently cut it with an external editor, AE, for example and reimported the shorter material under the same name.
To lose the diagonal lines, drag the end of the timeline placeholder left (to trim) until they are have gone.  .

  • What are these horizontal lines on my footage?

    Hi Folks,
I just got myself a new computer which is more stronger and i have just finished moving all of the old files on the old computer to the new.
I opened Adobe Preimere Pro and found that some of my footage had these horizontal lines on them (See Picture).
Everything is fine however when the time bar goes to the footage, all there is, is just black.
How can i fix this? What is the problem?
    Thanks!
    Andy.

Are you using MPE in hardware accelerated mode?  There's a mega-thread about this problem; a known issue with OS X 10.9.3 (and maybe .2), solved in the beta for 10.9.4.  Read up.  If it's the same issue, you'll want to disable hardware acceleration for the time being until OS X 10.9.4 is finally released.  Or, you could sign up for the OS X beta.

  • What are these diagonal lines in my timeline?

This project has lines throughout on the timeline. It won't upload to Vimeo. What is it? Thanks.

I see those two clips are Compounds, so you're probably inside of a Compound Clip that has been placed inside of a Project or another Compound Clip timeline.  Doesn't look like a Clip timeline to me like that.
You'd have to go back out to the parent timeline, and extend the end of the original Compound Clip.

  • What are these Gray and blue parts on the Timeline?

I have no idea what they are for,I've looked for a few minutes. I've looked all around, but there is no way to delete them I've come across. I'll show you what I mean, this would help alot! Answer Some Time Soon! I need it right now kinda...

That is the cache indicator. Blue = disk cache, green = RAM cache. Anyway, this is basic stuff required to understand how AE works and you need to read up.

  • What are these white lines on my desktop?

That's on the bottom right of my desktop. This screencap doesn't quite capture the "glowiness" of the lines. (The desktop is an anime cartoon, if you're wondering what you're looking at. That's just the bottom right corner.)
They disappear when the dock comes up or when a window's running, so nothing's wrong with the display.
Thoughts? Annoying the **** out of me.

Perhaps it is something on the image you have as the background, but its sort of cut off?  Doesnt look like anything to do with the computer hardware or software.  Did you try changing the background to see if it is still there?

  • My iMac has extremely small gray lines on the screen?

My iMac has extremely small gray lines under the screen? There are 3 of them and they are right next to each other, have any of you guys experienced this? What did Apple do about it? BTW my computer is 4 months out of warranty, because i did not get the extended Apple Care, will they still fix my computer? Im really worried, but its not that noticeable, unless you already know its there.

They won't fix your computer because it's out of warranty, perhaps an AppleCare lesson learned here. Of course you can try which doesn't hurt. The longer  you wait though and the less chance they will help. Can you attach a picture so we can see what they look like?

  • What are these weird blue dashes?

What are these weird blue dashes that got inserted into my Pages document since I closed it? They appear with each new paragraph start or break and I can't see how to get rid of them! ( I have OS 10.6.8 and Pages 4.1)

Probably you used tabs to indent your paragraphs instead of using First Line Indent and you have Show Invisibles turned on:
Menu > View > Hide Invisibles

  • What are these called?

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out what this element is?  Since I dont know what its actually called I have to provide a picture for my example.
What are these elements called?  I have pointed to them in my image with the red arrows.  Im pretty sure the horizontal ones are  a "horizontal rule".  But what about the vertical ones?  And how does one implement them in a site?  http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g29/FartyMcFly/Example.jpg
Thanks for any answers in advance and I apologize if its something stupidly simple.
    Thanks

How do I set the length of the border lines.
I'm afraid there is no support for that in current CSS2 standards.
You will be able to do it with CSS3 border-images.  But not for a few more years.
    http://www.css3.info/preview/border-image/
In the meantime, you could put your border on a neighboring division -- see example below:

  • What are these dots on my iPhone 5 SIM tray?

There are these odd white dots on my inside edge of the SIM tray in my iPhone 5. I don't recall seeing these dots in previous generations of iPhone 5.
I found a similar thread on MacRumors about this, but there appears to be no answer.
    Here is a picture:
For my iphone, I have an extra dot (so three dots and a line), so it is not exactly the same.
What are these? Are these normal? Does your phone's SIM tray have those too? How many dots?

How do you know about this? How many "configurations" are there  of these dots? This is the first time I had seen it in an iPhone (as compared to previous gens).

  • When I render and Export there are these little lines around moving objects

When I render and Export there are these little lines around moving objects, what are they and how do I fix it?

The lines are caused by the video being interlaced.
If you export to DVD they should no longer appear. However, if they don't disappear you can use the Deinterlace filter on the footage whilst in FCE.
How are you exporting ..... QT Movie or QT Conversion ....... and what are you exporting to - the internet or DVD?

  • VRD/@@D -what  are these ?

in TSTC - VRD and @@D are present.
But when you execute the transaction...Its not possible. The Description forVRD is that
@@D is that it calls a debugger documentationbut if you try to execute the TCD there is no visible changes !
VRD - SD  Generate data F.orders on Hand
What are these ? Shed more light, please !

    > .... what interests me is HOW ...HOW did you fnd this !!! this is the interesting point.
That is actually what I wanted to ask you. Were they in a menu?
    My "quick check":
I used SE80 to compare the tcodes, the programs and the screens.
I checked the where-used-lists of the programs and found V.17 etc, and the note pointing to the new functionality for this.
I checked the screens and also possible new screens for @@D (the debugger has changed).
I then checked PRGN_CORR* to see whether there were any documented (but unrecognizable) replacements for these tcodes.
I came to the conclusion that the functionality is gone, or the new implemention of it (together with new functionality) is so different that it is not recognizable in a quick comparison of tcodes, programs and screens, using SE80. So, those tcodes are relics which have been replaced by other, hopefully better, functionality (knowing the "go to" feature which is protected by the most sever authority check available, it looked as if @@D was a prototype of it from earlier - but that is just a guess).
Perhaps '@@D' created ' VRD' accidentally?
    Enjoy the weekend,
    Julius
