Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Aperture 3 Import Dialog Doesn't Show Any Images

Sometimes the import dialog just doesn't show any images. First time I encountered this I had to restart Aperture. But now even that doesn't help.

You don't say what your source is when your imports have been experiencing problems. Are you importing directly from a camera (or a card in a card reader)? Or are you importing images which have already been downloaded to your hard disk?
I've just completed importing approximately 5,000 images which date back to 2001, across several hundred projects. These have, obviously, been imported from an existing disk-based archive. Every so often, I'd find what you've described - the import window with the source correctly selected, but no preview images. I never worked out a pattern for this behaviour. However, I found dealing with it +for my particular circumstances+ was as simple as pressing <escape> to cancel the import and then immediately beginning the import again. It never failed on the second time around. I never needed (for this problem) to quit and restart Aperture, let alone reboot my system.
The problem I just described was being experienced on a fully patched 3.0.1 system. Of course, you might be experiencing something slightly different...

Sorry, missed that fact. My memory is good, but short.
Try moving the "Calendar Cache" file to your Desktop. Quit iCal, and find the "Calendar Cache" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars. Move that file to your Desktop. After that, (I remember that I recommended this before), as long as you are moving files to the Desktop, repeat the plist removal procedure once again, log out/in or restart.
You should also consider removing the "To Do's" from Mail before restarting iCal. When you open iCal turn off "Show Birthdays calendar" in iCal>Preferences...>General.
Are you syncing any data? If so, what method(s) are you using?

Aperture 3 project does not display any images in one Project

This is a strange situation. The bullets below outline the situation:
The project does not display any images
When I place the pointer over the project it shows there are 500+ images
I have located the RAW images stored in my aperture library
I can pull up the images using a smart folder and searching for photos taken on the event day
This is happening only to one of my projects that I know of (weird!!)
I have tried to 're-add' the image by both importing and dragging and dropping into the project, neither works
I tried the following basics:
Fixed permissions
Rebuilt the database
Tried to re-import the data, but when I have the 'don't import duplicates' these are not an option
Found the images in my Aperture library
I created another project and drug all of the images into that project
Any idea how I can fix this?
My fear is that if I delete the original project, the original master images will be deleted.

The most common cause of this is some sort of stuff in the search box at the top of the browser that you don't expect to be there. Just clear it and all your images should show up.

One note - if you drug your images from one project to another it moves them vs copies them unless you hold down the option key.

yes, you can locate and copy a file from your HD to a USB key using UNIX commands. If you know the exact name of the file which you’re trying to locate, try this:
find / -iname filename -print
This command will search your entire internal disk for the particular filename. If you know that it’s within a particular user account, then you can save search time with this variation:
find /Users/username -iname filename -print
Either variation of this command will print all files found which have the given filename. Presuming that you’re able to identify the correct file, you can copy it to a USB key using the command
cp -p filename_returned_by_find /Volumes/USB_volume
If you’re not sure which volume name your USB key has, this command will show you what the possibilities are:
ls /Volumes

Everything is inside the Library I can see but when I run iPhoto I get only a yellow note on the screen and no pictures?

Then iPhoto has probably opened a new, empty library, because it could not find or access your iPhoto library. What happens, whiny double-click the Library to open it directly?
Where is your iPhoto library stored? Is it in the Pictures folder or on an external drive?

Trash not displaying any images

I saw the same issue elsewhere on this forum but I can't find the thread now. But I have deleted 221 images in A3 which are now sitting in my Aperture Trash. When I click on the trash it doesn't show any images. I can right click and empty the trash but say i want to restore an image I can't as I can't see them. In the filter at the top right i have Show All so there is nothing filtered.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the issue may be. I'm guessing it is a setting of sorts that maybe I have overlooked as opposed to a bug but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just a question on this. Does anyone know if when you delete an image in A3 whether it actually moves the image or whether it just tags it as deleted and the Trash is effectively a smart folder looking for any images that are tagged trash. Then when you empty the trash Aperture actually then takes these marked images and trashes them? (Does Aperture at this point permanently delete the image or send it to the computers trash where it can in theory be recovered?).
The reason I ask is because if the former is correct it might make sense with regard to some other activity I have seen with A3. As my understanding is that with the smart albums they should update automatically and instantly? So if I have a smart album looking for the keyword landscape say and I tag a new photo as landscape it should instantly appear in the smart album? As at times I have had to go in to the smart album untick the keyword look up 'landscape' and then re tick it again to get A3 to show the newly tagged photos.
So it could be that I am somehow having an issue related to this. Additionally I have an album that aperture shows as having say 23 images in but when clicking in to the album there are in fact only 22 images (with all stacks expanded).
It doesn't seem that anyone else is seeing these issues so I wonder if it is an Aperture database issue or an Aperture software issue and whether reinstalling A3 may resolve whatever issues I have? However this will lose all my settings I suspect?
If anyone has any knowledge or ideas then please let me know. Thanks.

SQL Developer 1.5.4.59.40 doesn't display any data or only nulls

I've got a problem with SQL Developer after I downloaded the latest version *1.5.4.59.40*. SQLDev doesn't display any data or displays only few lines of nulls within information tabs: Column, DATA, Constraints, Grants, Stats, triggers and so on....

The problem is solved by upgrading an oracle client_1 to 11g version,
Apparently these are the files which have caused the problem in old version of the oracle client (10.2.0..):
SQL Developer is using client's libs by default when it's installed for ex.:
jdbc.driver.home     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/
jdbc.library     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/jdbc/lib/ojdbc5.jar
AND:
orai18n.library     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/jlib/orai18n.jar
above libs are not compatible with the latest version of SQLDeveloper.
That's why the problem occurs.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well.

The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

hold an app
once the '-' symbol appears release then find the 'hung' apps by scrolling and click the '-' symbol
click the home key

My ipad doesn't seem to make a sound when it is closed or in sleep mode to let me know there is an imessage until you see it on the screen that someone has imessaged. When you're taking it makes the swoosh sound, just not when it's in sleep mode. Help

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
