What do I do if my iPhone 5 keeps restarting? It keeps turning off and on. It stops for awhile but it goes again after a period of time. What should I do?

What shall be the solution to this?

MrPebbles let us know how did it go, I have the same problem for last three days and nothing seems to help

iPhone 3GS keeps turning off/shutting down. After numerous attempts I've managed to get it on again. Any ideas - could it be battery? Suggestions welcome.

Try forcing the phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device.
    Follow these steps:
iOS: How to back up your device and setup as a new device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
Doing this will help eliminate any possible software issue that could be causing this. Setting up a new device will bypass a backup with possible data corruption.
If the issue continues after this, you should contact Apple for service for the phone as it will very likely be a hardware issue.

I am trying to restore my iPhone 5, but it keeps turning off and on. It also turns off and on while charging. Is there anyway I can fix this? I did update it to the newest iOS.

Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

  • Iphone 5 keeps turning off and having to be reset to turn on!

Hi I have a 7 month old iphone 5 that started to turn itself off, it did it once on one day and all I did was hold power and home button to reset it. After that it worked for a full 24 hours without turning off then I started doing it again. Now I cant leave it 2 mins without it turning off by itself and now when I reset it it sometimes gets stuck on the apple logo so sometimes it takes me 3 attempts to turn it on for it to turn off again in 2 mins!!
I have plugged into my computer and it has lasted longer but then after I've unplugged it again same thing happens. I haven't dropped it or anything like that it just started acting up - is this something I can resolve or is it a replacement?
    Many Thanks!!

  • Volume on my iPhone 5c keeps turning off, and now will not allow me to access WIFI

i went into apple bc the volume was not working at all, well now it will randomly just shut off and i will have to turn it back on, i have missed several phone calls due to this. on top of it all, it will not allow me to turn on the WIFI in either the settings or the pull up bar

If Apple serviced the phone, there is a 90 days warranty on the repair. Bring it back and let them check the phone.

  • My iphone 3G Backlight keeps turning off and on every 15 - 20 seconds.

My iphone 3G keeps turning off and on (only backlight) every 15 - 20 seconds when in sleep mode. When I say turning on and off, it is not switch on-off, it is only back light that gets turn on and off. This is causing the battery to exhaust quickly.

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again.
If the problem persits, set it up "as new device". If this does not work, do it again, this time not using the backup after the new set up.
If still no luck, get it serviced or visit your nearest Apple Store.

  • My iPhone 5 keeps turning off by itself What can i do

my iPhone 5 keeps turning off by itself What can i do

Check in your settings Eddie4502.Under General there is an item called "Auto-lock"  You can set it from 1 to 5 minutes or never.  Perhaps its set to 1 minute which isn't enought time to sneeze!  I use 5 minutes.

  • My iPhone  5 keeps turning off on its own randomly what should I do

My iPhone  5 keeps turning off on its own randomly, sometimes turning itself back on automatically but sometimes staying off, i have tried a system restore but has no effect, what should I do?

Do you have a case on the iPhone? Did you accidentally drop it or damage it in anyway?
You could try restoring the iPhone and setting it up as a new device, as shown here -> iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Why does my iphone 3gs keep turning on and off

i need help my iphone 3gs keeps turning on and off and it has a charged battery. ive tried multiple chargers but none of them work. and when i conect it to itunes it doesnt even read my device. what can i do?

Probably because it is physically failing. Make an appointment at the genius bar and let them have a look at it.

  • My apple iPhone 4s keeps turning off

My iPhone 4S keeps turning off when its not in use. Every time it turns off, it has full battery power and it does not turn on by simply pressing the power button, I always have to press both the power button and the home button for like 4 seconds so that it turns on again. Can somebody help me figure out what the problem might be?

Did you try to restore it? If not, then do it first. If it doesn't work, then I guess it may be a problem with an iPhone itself. Anyway, your problem is strange, I have to say... Especially if it comes to the way you turn an iPhone on again. I still believe it should be a problem with a system, because that's what an iPhone needs to know how to turn on. If it turns on only in that untypical way, then I honestly guess that something is wrong with an iOS you have on your iPhone. Maybe try to reinstal it.
