I was given an old iPad. I just want to be able to sync it with my ITunes. What do I need to do to transfer it over to me?

Plug it in and restore it as a new device to clear any of the previous owners stuff off it. Then sync it with your own stuff.

They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

8mm film to video- what do I need to know to transfer properly?

I'm going to have my dad transfer all of the family 8mm films at a professional transfer place. (8mm, mind you, NOT Super8) to DVD. I'd like to have uncompressed (HD) files so that someday in the future I can put them into imovie. For now, my dad would like them all on DVD.
What do I have my dad tell the guy at the transfer house in terms of transferring and format? Will this take a huge, huge drive for all the files? How many Gigs per hour of 8mm film?

My recommendation is to capture in HD to a hard drive so you can edit the movies.
If all you want is unedited movies in SD, a DVD is OK.
The company I used, MyMovie Transfer.com (aka Debenham Media Group), is in Coraopolis PA, but I did everything by mail.

My old computer started with 1.0 then upgraded to 2.0 then 3.x. Do I need to install lightroom on the new computer then import the catalog from the old and do I need to install 1.0 thru 3.x?

You can directly install Lightroom 3 on the new computer but will need the SN's for the previous versions since the installer may ask for them(only if Lightroom 3 has been purchased as an upgrade).

I have a new pc windows 8.1. How do I transfer my iTunes music from my old pc windows xp. I have not downloaded the iTunes store on my new computer.
We also have 2 nano and 2 iphones that use that iTunes account.

Copy the entire iTunes folder (located in My Music) from the old computer to the Music folder on the new computer.
After you move the iTunes folder, download iTunes and install it on the new computer.

Recently,i just won an ipad and i cant use it at all.the moment i connect it prompt, need an higher version 10.5.8 or later version.i cant do anything bout it unless upgrade.need some advice what should i do in order not to get a new macbook.can i upgrade higher version with my current system that i have? if i upgrade what the max for memory and hard drive i can go? can i go higher then 10.5 version after upgrade? can my powerbook support all this upgrade?

Yes, but good luck finding 10.5 at a decent price.

Your PB needs a PATA (most current HDs are SATA), so size is more limited (maybe 160GB?) and price significantly higher. Max RAM is 2GB.

My girlfriend gave me on of her iPads. We have several paid and free apps with data that I would like to transfer as well as iPad ownership to my new iTunes account. Is this possible and how would I accomplish this? Thanx....

Explain. What do you mean? As long as you backup your 2G iPhone before plugging in your new 3G, you should be able to use the backup from the old phone for the new phone. As long as you make a backup and set up your new phone from it, you should be fine.
Plug in old phone, and it should do a backup by itself, which means all your stuff is saved. Then plug in new phone, and you should get an option to set it up as new phone, or to use your backup. Use your backup.

Hmmmm, what do I need?

I currently have a MPB connected to an AP Extreme. I also have a printer connected and Airtunes via AP Express.
Im setting up my daughters desktop PC running XP and as of now, it has no wireless card or whatever. What do I need to buy to allow her PC to use my AP Extremes connection (no need for printer connection though)? Also, I should add that this AP Extreme is downstairs and the PC will be upstairs in a townhome. Just wanna make sure it will be in range.

Depending on the make/model of the desktop PC, most take PCI cards. The following Linksys WMP54G just might do the trick.
...or if the desktop PC already has an Ethernet card, something like the Linksys WET54G would be another option.
