What exactly the "recovery disc" does?

I'm about to reinstall everything on my laptop but would like to know what exactly the "recovery disc" does....
I presume that it formats the HDD with a clean install of the OS and that all the toshiba apps like disc recorder, VAP etc... are NOT installed and have to be installed afterwards??

I have this excact problem too, Deleting the the app and then reinstalling it won't delete your photos as they are stored on facebooks servers. You will just have to remember you username and password to sign in again. Ever since Facbook bought instagram i have had this problem on my 4S too.

No it does not. The 2 are separate.
To get Pages on your Mac mini purchase it from the Mac App Store. The icon is on your Dock.

What exactly ARE the .pkg files that collect in the 'Receipts' folder?

Those .pkg files that collect in HDD>Library>Receipts. What exactly ARE these packages for? How do they tie in with Disk Utility's 'Repair permissions' option? Why do we need to keep them?
It's all Unix to me ;0)

I used to delete .pkg files after I'd installed an application. I thought i was just the electronic equivalent of throwing away the empty box after I'd bought something.
The "cardboard box" icon encouraged me to think that.
Then someone said you should never throw away those.pkg files.
So I stopped.
But the only thing that has ever happened is that during permissions repair, I get a few lines here and there that say "could not repair permissions".
I have experienced no other problems of any kind over about the last 2 years. All applications running normally, nothing weird happening.

Adobe gives us a creative license... does that include making sites open source?

Hi this question has bugging me. I know Adboe gives the enduser a creative license. I was wondering how far that license goes. If someone created a site in dreamweaver and maybe even used some flash for a opensource Website would that be violating the EULA? I know that the DW EULA says something about trade secrets they fail to explain what that means. I could use as much clarification as possible! Thanks.

I have a 16GB iphone but am an avid music lover. I own tons of music. I have iMatch and iCloud. As of right now my phone says I only use about half of the storage space on it in audio. Very litle is used for apps or pictures. I have another half of the storage space in a category called "Other". What is in that category? I would really like to add more music however my storage keeps stating I am almost full and need to manage. I would delete things if I thought it would make more room but it seems to take very little room off when I remove apps and pictures and does not really affect the other category. Someone please help describe what is in that category and how I can change add more room. Thank you!

What Tree Data Structures does Java Include?

I have been reading about several tree data structures like a binary search tree, self-balancing bst, minimum spanning tree, red-black tree, AVL tree, etc... Are there data structures in Java represent the various trees, or is implementation of the ds left to user?

"Java" can be termed the "Java Language". The language does not have trees.
In more general usage "Java" can refer to a standard, desktop, delivered VM which includes the standard Java API. The types that you are asking about would be found in the following package.

"Java" could also refer to any other commonly available implementations. In that case probably anything that can be implemented has been implemented somewhere. Googling works.

}"data" is a vector that has been holding the five attributes of Person. What I'm not getting here is why he used this construction: ((Vector)data.elementAt(i)).elementAt(1)So is this casting the Vector value of the "data" vector element into a String that is then stored as element 1, 2, etc. of the Person object? Why would a vector element have to be cast into a Vector anyway? And I'm confused by the double use of "elementAt".

((Vector)data.elementAt(i)).elementAt(1)Hi!, I think that your data Vector contains in every posotion another Vector with the elements of each person, so if the position i of Data has a Vector you should cast what elemenAt returns and then acces what you need to create a Person Object.
Search your source code for something like "data.add();" and see if it adds a Vector to data.
The cast to String is done because the elementAt method returns an Object

In Settings, choose General>Network, then tap the Cellular Data switch to turn it off. This turns off ALL cellular data, not just 3G.

Obviously, with cellular data on, you will use more battery than with it switched off. However, the battery usage is dependent upon any apps that require data.

HT2480 What exactly is the "Server" information that is necessary to complete this setup?

I am trying to setup an Exchange Account so my Calendar App will work.
This is the App that comes with the iPad. Not sure what is required for "server" info.

I didn't expect to find the specific server address here. Is there a pattern that can be somehow determined from the email address or is the server address random and determined by the admin?
