What format of regionName will be supported when setting session time zone?

hi,
the following is from OracleConnection class
public void setSessionTimeZone(java.lang.String regionName)
throws java.sql.SQLException
Set the session time zone.
This method is used to set the session time zone. This method must be invoked before accessing any TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE data. Upon invocation of this method, the Jdbc driver sets the session timezone of the connection adnd saves the session timezone so that any TSLTZ data accessed via Jdbc are adjusted using the session timezone.
Parameters:
regionName - Oracle session time zone region name.
Throws:
java.sql.SQLException - if an error occurred.
Since:
9i
getSessionTimeZone
public java.lang.String getSessionTimeZone()
Obtain Oracle session time zone region name.
Returns:
Oracle session time zone region name.
Since:
9i
which regionName will be supported and in what format?
Thanks a lot!

  • N8 calendar times change when in new time zone

How do you stop the calendar times changing when you enter a new time zone? This is very frustrating, particularly when the calendar contains flight times etc which you have entered in the local time zone of place of departure. Then when you move into that time zone it automatically changes every calendar entry! Annoying! I realise I can deselect automatic time zones, but then I'm guessing when I do change the time zone manually to where I am (so that it shows the time of day, and I can set an alarm to wake me up, etc!!!) then the same thing will happen - all my calendar entries will change. Hope someone has worked it out already.

the times are stored on the phone in absolute time, lets call it gmt. they are then displayed on your handset in local time.
the times aren't actually changing as you change time zones. they are very much staying the same.
to achieve what you re after you are just going to have to enter the times in one of the text fields.
There's no dignity in begging for kudos. Do it for the karma.

  • Error when changing database time zone

    Hi all,
I have Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Windows 2000 Pro. I try to change the time zone of the database using
    ALTER DATABASE SET TIME_ZONE = '+01:00'
but it fails with error ORA-02231.
    Am I missing something?

This is an expected behaviour, it's just that the message text was not meaningful.
Basically if there is a TSLTZ column in the database, user is not allowed to change the database time zone. This is because it will invalid their existing TSLTZ data.
You should either perform ALTER DATABASE SET TIME ZONE before creating any tables with TSLTZ columns, or drop the TSLTZ columns first before doing the ALTER DB statement.
According to Bug 2435266, the error message has now been changed to
ORA-30079: cannot alter database timezone when database has TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE columns

  • When setting up Time Machine it doesn't list any back up devices

I have an external 250gb harddrive thats connected to an Airport Extreme base station. I can see the harddrive on multiple machines through the network so I know it's there and working. However when I try to set up Time Machine and it prompts me to "choose a back up device" or I select "Switch Time Machine On" it doesn't show me external harddrive. Just lists nothing, and my only option is "cancel"
Anyone know whats going on or how to resolve it?
    Thanks

yes, i know that. but there were numerous reports (the macworld link in my first post is one) that it also works with AEBS after 10.5.2. I've never seen any reports that this stopped working after a subsequent update. in fact I remember a [thread a few days ago by someone using TM backups to AEBS successfully|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7717754&#771775 4]. he only mentions that he had to do a firmware and driver upgrade of AEBS but that's all. It could also depend on the model of AEBS you've got.

  • What information in Testcases will be affected when upgrading TFS 2010 to TFS2012?

    Hi,
As of now we are working on TFS2010. We have many testcases in MTM.
If we upgraded TFS to 2012, does the testcase ID will change?
I am new to Microsoft platform. It would be great if you share what others areas will be impacted?
    Regards,
    User232482

    Hi,
The test case IDs are stored in database, and will not be changed during the upgrade progress. For TFS upgrading, you can refer to the upgrade guide in this

  • Help, what speeds am i willing to expect when (if)...

OK, I live in Hattersley mottram and infinity isn't in my area. After a quick phone call, it (appartently) is in febuary march, i am using a technicolor modem router atm (unlimited up to 8meg adsl postoffice) and only get a 2/5 bar on my laptop. on my xbox it flickers between 2/4 3/4 bars, will i get a constant 4 bar in game with wireless infinity? will i get a minimum of 3 bars on my laptop? how good is the wireless range? wired isnt an option 4 me. to far from router, not paying for powerline adapters as u can have problems and cost alot, not having massive wire looks messy. so i have to have everything wireless

Yes, you will only recieve up to 18mbps, you would need to move closer or try and get rid of some interface if you have any.
Also, how is your wireless setup, is the hub pointing out of the door in the room, is it near a radiator or microwave?
Is your Wireless Adapter placed in the best position it can maintain the best wireless signal that it can achieve?
I'm not sure about cod, I play cod4 myself and I use to get 30 ping on less than 1mbps connection while others where using the Internet.
You also have another solution for wireless, you could use powerline adapters.
    Powerline Adapters work like this
You plug one into a wall socket beside your router (not extension, needs to be a main plug) you then connect ethernet from this powerline adapter that you've plugged into the wall beside your router into the router.
You then get another powerline adapter and plug it in upstairs and do the same with the etherner but instead of the router you plug it in your laptop(computer). These are a great alternative to wireless and work just as well as ether connecting directly, but this does depends on the condition on the wiring and the ring of the house electrics.

    Hey there kristiannie,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your wireless printer isn’t able to join the Wi-Fi network or there’s an issue with your iMac connecting to it. Try running through the troubleshooting suggestions in this article:

  • What command will be executed when I schedule job via DB13

    Hi all,
How do I get what command(full syntax) will be executed when I schedule jobs via DB13?
    For example:
    - Action: REORG of Tables in Tablespace(s)
    - Tablespaces: "WI6#BTABD" is selected
    - "Use Temporary Tablespaces" is selected
I think this is a really basic question...
Could you give me some advice?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ikue

    Hi Ikue,
yes,  you won't see, what the 'REORG for all tablespaces is doing. But it's not really necessary. Its's simply always the same call
REORG TABLE <tabname> INDEX <primary key> ALLOW NO ACCESS
and optionally the addition  USE <tempspace>, if you have selected this option in DB13.  And it is called for each table that is located in the tablespace(s) which you have specified.
The 'REORG for set of tables' is quite new. It is available with Basis Support Package 7.0 SP12. Before there was only a job to Reorg a single table.
The REORG for flagged tables is a deprecated job.
If you want to know more about the various REORG jobs and when and how to use them, then you should look at note 431430
    Best regards

  • Video Files as email attachments - what formats on iPhone 3Gs ?

    Hi
This may turn out to be a dumb newbie quesiton but what format video files can I play when sent as email attachments?
WMV shows as an attachment with the Qucktime icon but can't download/play
MPG allows you to launch but then says "Movie format is not supported"
Do I need to install a specific player app or is there a setting somewhere that I need to make?... or is this not possible (seems unlikely)
Plays vids on YouTube etc no problem.
    Thanks!
    Iain

  • What format are dvd's produced by Final Cut?

Hi, this could be really stupid question but when you share a FCPX project to DVD, what format is the DVD?
I sent my videos to a friend on DVD's as they were huge files and he cannot use dropbox. He's now asking what format are the DVD's, and can I send him the videos on .mov format.
So what format are the dvd's produced when you share on FCPX? And what is the best way to share a .mov file with someone who can't use dropbox (and I can't compress either as quality can't be compromised).
    Thanks in advance

the DVDs are standard-conform videoDVDs, no dataDVDs:
    udf-formatted, mp2-encoded, muxed (VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS), SDef (720x480)
ready for any DVDplayer, not ready for sharing files ...
to create a dataDVD, e.g to share a HDef, h264.mov file, export the Project and drag resulting file in Finder onto an 'empty' dvd-r. when done, hit burn.
    but .......
a disk fits 4GB ... a flashmem/usb-stick that size costs .... 2$? Aaand can be reused for other purposes. You get sticks in really large sizes, I'm actually filling here one with 64GBs, with a year in sports review in 'fullHD'.
.... disks would be my last choice.....

  • Time Zone support

I understand the basic gist of time zone support as it is pretty straight forward, but I'm constantly finding myself confused when I use time zone support when I travel.  For instance, I use EDT and sometimes put events in my calendar that I know I'll have while I'm traveling.  If I put an event in my calendar for 2:00 pm because that is when the event is supposed to start, but the event is taking place in California, the event shows up in my calendar at 11:00 am and I get all confused as to when my events are actually supposed to start.
Is the best policy to figure out what the adjusted time is supposed to be and make the adjustment beforehand, or is it best to turn off time zone support?  It gets really confusing when trying to add events to your calendar when the events take place in different time zones.
Any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated
    Mac

Simple answer is that the events should not be moving if the setting has stuck, so it's probably a preference file that has been corrupted.
Do you see the time zone at the top right of the iCal window?
If it's there even though you have unchecked the option in preferences, it might be worth going into preferences and rechecking, quitting preferences, going back in and unchecking.
If that fails to get rid of the zone in the window (or it wasn't there in the first place), you probably need to trash the preferences file for iCal:
    Quit iCal.
Look for this file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist [That's in the Preferences folder of the Library folder of your home folder in case you don't understand the notation.] Drag it to the desktop - or somewhere convenient (so that you know where it is and can put it back if iCal gets screwed-up).
    Restart iCal.
This should start iCal in the default mode - which is with Time Zone support off. You will notice that the position and size of windows, default view (month, week, day), etc have also been reset - so you will need to arrange them to your liking and check that the preferences that you need are set correctly.
You should now be able to change time zone without everything moving. If it works, you can trash the file you moved to the desktop.
If this doesn't fix your problem, you can at least get back to where you started by:
    Quitting iCal.
Dragging the original .plist back over the new one.
    Restarting iCal.
    * Make sure you back-up your data before doing anything. However, I just tried this with my own iCal and it all worked 'as advertised' *
