What has happened to the button that allowed us to block scammers/spammers? I got a skype thing tonight and I want to block the one who tried to contact me, but that is no longer available on my skype. What is going on and why has that feature been dropped?

It used to be that you could drag a Pic to the Background (Active Chat part) rather than the Text Entry field then the Pic would become the background and in some cases tiling.
It could also be dragged to the Preferences > Messages section (like you can see the Font and colour choice you make).
However as you have found out it seems to have been removed.
Despite saying iChat and being several OSes and iChat versions out already I would use this page

Not really enough info to help constructively.
Which Version of iChat ?
Is it iChat to iChat or iChat to Messages (i.e Mac to Mac) or AIM (iChat) to PC AIM (needs to be a compatible version)
Is this AIM to AIM (Includes AIM valid Screen Names from certain Apple IDs) ?
Is it Jabber to Jabber (this can only be done Mac to Mac in Messages and/or iChat) ?
Do you get any failure message ?
In the Video Menu > Connection Doctor > Errors tab do you get any info ?
NOTES
As mentioned it is iChat to iChat or iChat to AIM on a PC if the PC has a compatible version (which is not the latest) (where it lists iChat it also means Messages in Mountain Lion)
It has to be either AIM to AIM IDs or Jabber to Jabber IDs
It cannot be Jabber to some GoogleTalk Web Browser Login (or Facebook)
It cannot be Jabber/Google Talk to the PC app called GoogleTalk
Google released an PC only App that will use Jabber protocols for Video (Called Jingle)
Their web Browser Plug-in also uses Jingle for Video and Audio chat but iChat and Messages use SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to connect. The two are not compatible.
Facebook also run a Jabber server and have apparently released their Own Plug-in which can cause problems of it's own on a Mac.
However you also cannot video to a Web Browser Login on Mac or PC
If this is iChat 6 it does not Video on the Yahoo Accounts (that is Text Only)
This means it cannot Video to any version of Yahoo on Mac or PC or any Web Browser method.

You can change the Command Space Bar shortcut for Spotlight under Mac OS X Preferences:

For example, before in Preview, you could select text to be read in text-to-speech. Now, this feature seemed to have just vanished! What happened?

What happens when calls/txts are blocked for a number?

I figured out how to block incoming calls/txts from a phone number in spam controls. What happens if they try to call or text? Are they aware that the number is blocked or does it seem "normal" except I don't receive anything?

Blocked individuals who call a customer will hear the message:
"Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you were trying to reach has calling restrictions which has prevented the completion of your call."
If someone tries to text you from a number you have blocked they will get an error that the text failed to send. You will not receive any notification that a blocked number attempted to text you.

We started using web services on a 700 server. Looks something like this.

We could create a proxy in vb.net and call our SAP web services like this:

After upgrading to nw ep 7.1, which looks like this.

What happened to the file numbers after switching to Photos. It would be nice to still have the file numbers show.
You mean, the filename with the number on the card?
Photos does not use the filenames as a title, when displaying the thumbnails. The filename will only show in the Info panel.
Copy the filenames to the title field in the Info panel and then enable "Metadata" in the View menu.
I wrote a script to copy the filenames automatically to the title field, see:

Please elaborate your query more briefly, so we can provide you appropriate solution to troubleshoot the issue. Although, I am defining some basic tricks to fix Outlook’s glitches:
1.) Open Outlook in safe mode.
2.) Perform repair on Outlook Data File.
3.) Recreate Outlook profile if it seems corrupted.
4.) Remove third party plug-ins (after opening Outlook in safe mode)
5.) Check the server settings (which is used to connect with Office 365)
6.) At last, contact to your ISP

all our purchases in iTunes , apps and iCloud are on this . If we create a new ID for one of us do we lose any of the data and purchased material or do we still share?

I would suggest that one of you retain the existing AppleID and use it for the iTunes Store, iCloud, and Messages on their iOS device and/or Mac accounts.
Then, the other one of you can create a new AppleID.
You then have two choices for how to share your existing store purchases:
1) You can try the new "Family Sharing" feature: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/
2) Or you can simply continue to use the original AppleID as your "iTunes Store" login on all of your devices (yours and your wife's), yet use a different AppleID to login to iCloud and Messages.
Family Sharing is supposed to be the solution to the problem and does indeed have some interesting shared features. However, just using the same iTunes Store login has worked reliable for years.
The important this to realize is that in iOS and Mac OS, the logins for the Apple Store, Messages, and iCloud are all completely separate and can be independently configured. So, you can each use your own AppleID for login to each of those services. Just make sure to both login to the iTunes Store service using the same original AppleID.

What happened to the ability to preview an Adobe doc in tile view in the folders?

I download a lot of PDF files for crafting and don't print them out until a time when I'm ready to do the project. I've got tons in my folder. I used to be able to see what the project was in the folder using the tile view but no longer. Now it only shows the Adobe Acrobat icon. I can't even preview it using the preview frame. I would like Adobe to go back to showing the preview so I don't have to go through and open and close evey single doc just to see what it is!
Is it clear what I'm asking?
64-bit, yes....why do people keep asking that? My computer is 4 1/2 years old so 64 bit has been out a LONGGGGG time and is pretty prevalent these days.

What happens to our hosted websites when mobile me goes away?

I created my website using IWeb and it is hosted by Mobile Me. I keep hearing that Mobile Me is going away, everything is going to the cloud and 'we' with websites made with IWEB have to find somewhere else to host them. Is that true? and if so, I know I am not the only person who built a website using IWEB. What do 'we' do or another way, where do our websites go?

Yes, all this is true and you will not be able to use MobileMe to host your site after June this year and iCloud WILL NOT provide any type of website hosting.
If you still want to keep your website, all you will need to do is look for a new host and you will probably also have to register a domain name if you have not already.
There are many companies out there that both register domain names and offer hosting - take a look at http://www.hostexcellence.com and http://www.godaddy.com for starters and see if they have any suitable packages.
Then all you do is upload yoru site from iWeb there rather than MobileMe.
It could not really be any simpler.

What happened to mu pop-up-blocker?

Some pop-ups open while i only have one site allowede to open pop-ups. whwn i look in the tools, pop-up-blocker is active and only my one site is allowed. Still other sites are able to open pop-ups.
This never happened in the past.

What happened to the ability to hide the "marching ants" (CTRL/CMD H) in Photoshop? I cannot view the edges of my selection with the marching ants in the way!

I have been using Photoshop since version 2.5 when it came on 16 floppy disks. In all of the versions I've purchased over the years (many) up to CS3, I have always been able to use CTRL+H (Windows) or CMD+H (Mac) to hide the "marching ants" selection outline. This is immensely useful when making all sorts of adjustments where the edge of the selection must be viewed while "fiddling with the knobs" (so to speak). Without being able to hide the selection boundaries ("marching ants"), I often have to make a best guess, undo the selection, get bummed that the edge isn't what I want, then have to undo, reselect, try again... over and over. This is such a SIMPLE feature, but the lack of it is driving me crazy. I searched HELP, but it didn't live up to the promise. If there is a way to hide the marching ants, where is the menu item, and what is the shortcut?

You can assign Ctrl/Cmd H to hide Selection Edges (Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts) only, if you don't want to hide everything, but you will be warned if some other function has the shortcut.

What happened to the ability to sync Palm data?

I updated my Bberry desktop manager today and can't figure out how to sync my calendar, memo's and contacts from my Palm Tungsten C desktop. I rarely use my Palm for anything but storage of info these days, but I used to be able to sync it with my Blackberries. There's no option to add it when configuring.
Help please.

Thanks for your response! In PSE 7 you could print from the Editor workspace as well. A lot of times I don't want to save my edited version, I just want to print. Without the ability to print multiple photos from the Editor, it forces you to open photos, edit, save, go back from the Organizer and print from there (unless you want to use 1 sheet of paper for each photo). It doesn't seem like they would remove a useful feature from PSE 10. Any suggetions to print multiple photos per page from the Editor?
