What happened to the balance on my gift card once I entered my credit card info?

I had been using iTunes gift cards for purchases until I wanted to get iTunes Match. I had to enter my credit card for that. Now the balance on my gift cards is gone and the option of using the cards seems to be gone as well. I do not want everything charged to my credit card. The ony way to contact support for the store seems to be 800 number. Is there an e-mail address I can use for support?

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you redeem the gift card to your iTunes Store account? If not, just give your brother the gift card and he can redeem it in his own iTunes Store account. If you did redeem the card, then there's no way to transfer the balance from your iTunes Store account to his. He'd have to use your iTunes Store account to make the purchases and sync to his devices.

Got $15.00 from niece for Christmas. I've redeemed the Card and then proceed to purchase some songs I would have normally purchased over a spread out Period. Yet I am receiving receipts as if purchased on my Credit Card.
How do I know if the purchases are being credited to the Gift Card? Times are tight ad I am getting ready to purchase a new Mac Laptop.

You get a receipt for any purchase, regardless of the payment method. You even get receipts for free content. So the fact that you're getting a receipt doesn't mean that your credit card is being charged. Look at the balance shown at the upper-right of the iTunes window when you're on the iTunes Store, just to the left of where it shows your account ID. If charges are going to your credit balance, that will be decreasing as you make purchases, though sometimes you have to sign out of your account and back in to refresh the display.

Last week I had a little over $5 on my account. I purchased a $15 gift card to buy more music. When I redeemed the gift card, my account showed the $15 but not the additional $5. What happened to the other money? I had this happen once before but only had around $1 left so didn't worry about it, but if this happens every time I buy a gift card, I wont be buying any more.
I have checked other similar threads and the only response I have seen is to look at history. The history does show what was purchased but I don't see anything showing balances as those purchased or gift card redemptions are made. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anybody know what happened with the special "gift" that was initially advertised to be packaged with the 100ME cards? I purchased the GTX 970 Gaming 100ME from Newegg a few weeks ago, and there's nothing that fits that description in the box. It seems it has been a limited offer and might also not been offered in all local markets. If the shop didn't list a gift being part of the package there simply is none.

An iTunes gift card can only be redeemed once, you can't enter and redeem its code again. Since you redeemed the card you haven't bought anything (including IAPs and auto-renewing subscriptions), and your account doesn't show a balance ? You've tried logging out and back into your account and seeing if it shows then ?
My account's balance shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my iOS devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to). If the balance is zero then it might not be shown.

Expanding on what Tim said to make sure it's clear, only the carrier to which the iPhone is locked can authorize unlocking. If Optus is the original carrier, as would seem to be the case, O2 would not be able to unlock it. Only Optus can authorize the unlock, so you'll need to contact them. They say, though, that only the account holder can apply for unlocking, so you might not be able to get it unlocked and will have to work through the person from whom you bought the iPhone.
