What happens when I buy a subscription for 1 year, but the app stops being updated, and is no longer in the USA app store? Can I get a refund?

I bought a subscription to a magazine on the app store, and now I cannot get any more issues as the USA app store has taken the app off the store.
I think I should have at least been advised and offered a refund for the portion of the subscription left.
What actually happens though?
Does anyone know?

Phil

An iPod formatted for Mac won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. However there are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows, this is one for instance gets good reviews: XPlay 2

  • In iPhoto '08, I've been hitting the delete button to delete my photos for years, but they're not in trash and they've never really been deleted.  How can I easily group all of these photos and permanently delete them?

I've been mistakingly hitting delete to delete photos after importing them into iphoto.  I thought they were all being deleted off of my computer, but not so.  They're not in either the system or iphoto trash.  I was able to find all "original" and "duplicate" photos in finder folders.  Yes I could delete each photo one by one again, but we're talking sifting through 40GB of photos.
Thank you very much for your suggestions!!!

    Whoa!

Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

  • What happens when you buy from a third party vender

I am wondering what happens when you buy a macbook form a third party vender. In my case it is amazon.com. I am reading about people returning their macbook's to apple for a refund due to the high pitched whine everyone is talking about. My understanding is that we can still send them to apple to get fixed for the noise, but even if they can't fix it we still can't get a refund right? If I try to return it to Amazon as a defective product who decides if it is? Apple or Amazon?

Amazon's return policy on computers doesn't exclude any brands, so I'd say that you could return it. Here's a link to it if you'd like to read it:

You can update directly to Yosemite (for free) through the App Store (this is 10.10). Make sure your existing applications will run on this OS.
If you wish to stay at 10.8, you can order this through the online Apple Store (it's $20), and they will email you a redemption code to be used on the App Store.

  • My performance is very slow when I run graphs. How do I increase the speed at which I can do other things while the data is being updated and displayed on the graphs?

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

It may also be your graphics card. LabVIEW can max the CPU and you
screen may not be refreshing very fast.

  • HT204088 If I buy an app, and it doesn't work like its suppose to, can I get a refund, ?

If I buy an app that doesn't work like it is suppose to, can I get the $6.99 refunded back to my iTunes account ?

If you've tried contacting the developer and not had a response then you can try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • What happens when Apple send a box for repair?

    Hi,
After calling AppleCare about my white MacBook's discolouration issue again today, they have agreed to take it in and replace the inner top casing - which makes me very happy. They have said that as soon as they receive it, they will repair it and send it back the next day, so hopefully no more than a week in all - even better. They said they would "send a box" via TNT. Not having had to send in any of my Macs for repair before, I wondered if any of you who have been through this experience could tell me what the procedure is. When they say they are "sending a box", does this mean when TNT come around they will pop my MacBook in a box and take it away with them there and then? Will they want to take away the original packaging (and software, remote, power adapter etc) along with it, or just the MacBook itself? I'll be at work when they come with the box and my other half will have to deal with it, so I just want to make sure I have it all ready for her and know what to expect...
    Thanks!
MacBook white 2Ghz, iBook 1Ghz, MacMini PPC   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Same procedure, different machine!
It so happens I had to send back a 15" G4 PB today for service. Apple generously flew an empty cardboard box from Cologne to the Milands for me to pop it into!
UPS is very used to the procedure (the guy told me they have to pick up so many faulty iPods!) so they're happy to hang around for the 1 minute or so it takes to pop your Macbook in a bag like the one it originally came in, then lay it in the box (you have to break off pieces of polystyrene which cunningly create the perfect sized aperture to snugly fit your model).
If Apple didn't mention it then they don't want anything except the Macbook.
Once it's in the box the UPS guy then sticks on a sealed security label, and you wave it goodbye for a week!
I must say I'm impressed at how quickly Apple has acknowledged the discolouration issue - it was an official announcement today that they would replace the top case of affected machines and they attribute it to manufacturing defect.

  • What happens when you buy a single?

When you buy a single and when the album later comes out, do you still have to pay for that song again or is it included?!  Would the album artwork change as well?

If you bought a single on iTunes from an album that was already released, typically therAle would be a "Complete My Album" price that would be discounted because you had already purchased the single.
Typically, when an album is not yet released, you do not get such a benefit.  Typically, the single is itself an album.  So yes, the album artwork may well change and you should not expect any future discount.
This is much the same as used to be true when you went to the CD store and purchased a single before the album came out.  The single was its own album.  If you bought the multi-song album later, the single would be repeated and you would pay for it again.

  • HT4743 What happens when you buy a tv season that isn't finished yet?

If I buy a season of a tv series, but the season isn't finished yet, do I get the new episodes too? Or do I only get the episodes listed on iTunes when I click buy? If I do get all the episodes, do they automatically download? I just need to know If I have to wait until the entire season is listed... Thanks!!
Can I then put the season on my iPad?

In addition I believe you can  get a pro rata refund or similar if you cancel the season pass before downloading future episodes or if the show goes bust and doesn't complete the season.
Complete my Season may be another option when a season has completed (and should work eventually for those that have episodes yet to air for that season).
Here, when you buy an episode, if the season is complete you can buy the season for the full cost less that of those you've already bought.
Beware however as it won't let you do it if the remaining cost falls to less than a single episode - I've been caught out twice with that - you need to know how many episodes in total and stop buying individual ones at the appropriate point.

  • What happens when calls/txts are blocked for a number?

I figured out how to block incoming calls/txts from a phone number in spam controls. What happens if they try to call or text? Are they aware that the number is blocked or does it seem "normal" except I don't receive anything?

Blocked individuals who call a customer will hear the message:
"Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you were trying to reach has calling restrictions which has prevented the completion of your call."
If someone tries to text you from a number you have blocked they will get an error that the text failed to send. You will not receive any notification that a blocked number attempted to text you.

  • I have just purchased Dreamweaver CS6 and believe I should have gotten Dreamweaver CC.  Can I get a refund for the CS6?

I purchased CS6 thinking I was getting the latest and greatest.  In viewing the "Getting Started" videos, like so many others, I discovered the "insert Structure" feature was only available on CC.  (I imagine the video of that feature is a masterful marketing tool for CC.)  Like someone else in the Forum I did not want to pay $50 a monthfor Dreamweaver.  But in the Forum I learned that Dreamweaver CC was available for $20 a month.  Now I would like to upgrade to CC but do not want to toss out my purchase price for CS6. What can I do?

    Hi,
Please find the direct link to download the CS6 software: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html . Kindly follow the very important instructions mentioned.

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. Unless you have an iCloud backup you will have to restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • I have had Norton for years but should I switch to Mackeeper and is it better?

My anti virus renewal is due soon and am wondering if I should stay with the basic Norton which I have for years or switch to Mackeeper?  Which one is better and will speed up my desktop computer as it tends to be slow and the colored cursor is annoying.

Norton Antivirus has a very long and illustrious reputation for mangling Mac OS X systems, sometimes to the point where a complete reinstall is necessary. Among other things, it installs kernel extensions which are known to cause kernel panics and system freezes; it contains known and documented bugs which can silently corrupt Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign files, destroy a user's ability to authenticate as an administrator, and (on PPC systems) can cause Classic to stop functioning; and Symantec has on at least two occasions now released flawed .dat file updates which erroneously report certain critical Mac OS X files as "viruses." (Deleting these "viruses" causes damage to the system that in some cases renders it unbootable.)

  • What happens when I buy a new Mac....

I am new to downloading music from itunes as I always want a hardcopy cd - but as Itunes store has some exclusive stuff that I want to buy - from what I can make out - the mp3's can only be played on the machine you bought the tracks from(?) and are encoded so you can't do want you want with them
Am I right as this means the music Ive paid for will be worthless when I have to eventually get a new Mac.
Am I right or is not an issue?

    Paul,
The short answer to your questions is, happily, you couldn't be more wrong on this issue!
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play the iTunes Music Stores tracks you've purchased with your account.
